Loo description of the village. Resort Loo in the Krasnodar region: description, reviews. Cheap guest houses in Loo
The village of Loo (Adyghe. Leup, Abaz. Loo) is located on the Black Sea coast, at the mouth of the Loo river of the same name, in the Lazarevsky district of the “resort city of Sochi” in the Krasnodar Territory. Loo is located in a narrow coastal valley and is surrounded on three sides by mountains and ridges. The terrain in the village is predominantly hilly. Average altitudes are about 30 meters above sea level. The absolute height in the vicinity of the village reaches 308 meters above sea level. All this is the territory of the Sochi National Park and the Caucasus Nature Reserve.
Loo's main advantage is its location and natural resources. The village stretches along the sea and magnificent wide pebble beaches, while most other villages on the coast move away from the sea along river valleys towards the mountains. Loo borders with the settlements: Nizhnyaya Khobza in the north-west, Gornoye Loo in the north-east and Kuchuk-Dere in the south-east. The main economic sectors in the village are tourism. Loo is one of the largest resort areas on the Black Sea coast of Russia.
History of Loo. The name of the village of Loo comes from the name of the largest Abaza feudal family Lau or Low (Loovy), who, during the period of greatest prosperity of the Abkhaz principality, owned these territories.
In the mountains near Loo, at an altitude of approximately 300 meters, the ruins of a medieval Byzantine temple of the 8th-9th centuries have been preserved. The northern wall of the building, made of limestone blocks, is better preserved in it. The width of the temple is 11 meters, length - 20 meters, the thickness of the walls exceeds one meter. By the nature of the masonry, the temple is close to the Pitsunda and Lykhny temples in Abkhazia (see Loo temple).
Until 1864, Ubykhs from the Vardane community lived in the Loo River valley. Before the start of the Muhajir era, at the mouth of the river on the seashore there was the village of Ismail Barakay Dzepsha, one of the Ubykh leaders during the Caucasian War. After the end of the Caucasian War, the entire local population was deported to the Ottoman Empire for their unwillingness to obey the heterodox Russian Tsar. As a result, the Loo River valley was deserted for several years.
Since 1872, Russian, Armenian and Greek settlers began to populate the Loo River basin. The territory itself was included by the Russian emperor in the Vardane estate, which belonged to Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolaevich.
Until the 1920s, the village of Loo was part of the Sochi district of the Black Sea province.
In 1923, the village was included in the Adler region. Then in 1945 it was transferred to the Lazarevsky district.
On February 10, 1961, the village of Loo was included in the resort city of Sochi, with the status of an intracity microdistrict assigned to the settlement.
On August 7, 2008, a terrorist attack occurred on Loo Beach, as a result of which two people were killed and 15 were injured, eight more people were hospitalized. The explosion of an unidentified explosive device occurred on the city beach at 10:10 Moscow time.
The climate in Loo is humid subtropical. The average annual temperature is around +14°C, with average July temperatures around +24.5°C, and average January temperatures around +6.5°C. The average annual precipitation is about 1500 mm. The bulk of precipitation falls in winter. The main tourist season lasts from May to October.
Beaches in Loo. The beach area within the microdistrict stretches 6 kilometers in length. Basically, it is all covered with pebbles, with small sandy islands in places where they were deposited by mountain rivers.
Central Beach- the calling card of the village of Loo. It is considered one of the best beaches in Greater Sochi. It is distinguished by a width of more than 30 meters and small pebbles, which alternate with sandy stripes. The beach has everything you need: showers, changing rooms, and access to the water. This is where the most active vacation for the whole family is. Lots of entertainment for every taste: riding scooters, banana boats, catamarans, parachute flights, pleasure boats, as well as fishing in the open sea and diving. Roller coaster ride with access to the sea. The majority of clubs are located on this beach. A large number of cozy cafes, bars and restaurants to suit every taste. Live music fills every corner of the beach in the evenings.
Beach of the sanatorium "Magadan" is a continuation of the Central Beach, has one of the widest coastal strips of about 50 - 60 meters. The length is just over 500 meters. The beach is landscaped. There is everything you need for a beach holiday. Very convenient for visiting with children. There is an embankment with a cafe and bar, as well as a couple of shops. Rental points are available.
Beach "Dolphin" (Compliment) located along the Dolphin boat cooperative. Its length is about 600 meters, width from 30 to 15 meters. The entire length of the beach consists of small pebbles, with sandy stripes less common. The entrance to the water is gentle, making the beach convenient for swimming with children. The rather narrow beach strip does not diminish its advantages. It is harmoniously located between the wild and central beaches. Buoys are installed along the entire length, the beach is cleaned daily, and trash cans are installed. There are various rental points: sun loungers, umbrellas, as well as scooters and catamarans. Parachute flights and amateur diving are offered. In two places the beach has wooden decking for more convenient access to the water. There are special places with thatched roofs that provide protection from the scorching daytime sun.
The wild Loo beach is located away from the center and the pier at a distance of just over a kilometer. The noise, hum, bustle, music of cafes, bars and restaurants only rarely echoes to such a wonderful vacation spot. The beach is landscaped, buoys are installed along its entire length at a distance of 50 m from the seashore. Trash cans are also installed, and the entire area is cleaned daily. The width of the beach varies from 10, in some places up to 6 m, and the length is about 600 m. The entrance to the water is gentle, without sharp changes. Medium-sized pebbles sometimes alternate with sandy islands; places with large stones are less common.
The nudist beach follows immediately after Dikiy, has a narrow coastal strip of just over 5-7 meters, and it stretches about 1000 meters in length. From above, the beach is protected from prying eyes by a bank protection dam entwined with wild plants. And immediately above it, 10-15 meters from the edge, there is a railway road, from which the beach is also not visible. There are mountains behind it. Thus, no matter how we look at it, the beach is ideal for nudists. The beach consists of pebbles, sometimes there are islands with large stones, giving this place veiled beauty and pristineness. There are no cafes or bars on the beach, no shops or anything else. Thus, the beach is very popular among resort guests.
Beach "Mountain Air" located in the village of Gorny Vozdukh, one of the widest beaches of Greater Sochi. It stretches 600 meters in length and is about 40-55 meters wide, with small pebbles all along its length. The main part of the beach is landscaped. Rental points, sea activities for every taste. Children's playgrounds and slides are provided. The beach is cleaned daily. There are special covered areas with sun loungers from the scorching daytime sun. Pizzerias, cafes, bars are located along the entire embankment, which is buried in the shade of trees and flowers. There is also everything you need for a beach holiday. Rental offices, cafes and canteens. At the entrance to the Mountain Air beach there is a food market. And a wide variety of different souvenir shops.
Beach "Lower Khobza" stretches for 400 meters and includes the beach of the Sokol recreation center. Its width varies from 5 to 25 meters. The shore consists of small pebbles, the entrance to the water is not sharp. The beach slowly flows into a small forest and disappears in the shadow of dense trees. Even during the day there is coolness and fresh air. There are special wooden floorings to facilitate the descent to the water. There are rental points for umbrellas, sun loungers, as well as scooters and catamarans. Parachute flights and banana rides are offered. You can hide from the scorching afternoon sun under the awnings
Beach LOK "Mountain Air", despite departmental affiliation remains free. If necessary, you can use the LOC infrastructure: bar, cafe, shops, etc. The embankment of the complex with places to relax is freely accessible. In the summer, water activities are organized for the sanatorium guests and resort guests: parachute, jet skis, banana, and water slides.
The Aqualoo beach is owned by the Aqualoo complex. The coastline is more than 250 meters long. The beach is equipped with sun loungers, relaxation areas, umbrellas, showers, and a rescue post. For a fee, you can use the embankment infrastructure - rental points, water attractions. In the evening and until the morning, the night karaoke hookah bar "Art Voyage" opens its doors. Entrance to the beach is free.
Beach of the sanatorium "Ivushka" is one of the widest among Loo beaches. Guests of the sanatorium are provided with sun loungers and umbrellas. For the convenience of tourists, there are changing cabins on the shore. One of the advantages of this beach is that there are few people, even during peak season. In the evening, a nightclub opens its doors with an interactive show program. Entrance to the beach is free.
Beach of the hotel "Russian Marvelous House" belongs to the hotel of the same name. A transfer to the shore and back is organized for guests of the boarding house. There are not many houses in the immediate vicinity and therefore the sea is always spacious. Beach equipment can be rented on the shore. In the evening, the coastal bar begins its work. Free admission.
Beach of the boarding house "Luchezarny" starts at the exit from the buildings. The most important advantage can be considered the distance from the large villages of Loo and Dagomys, which makes the beach uncrowded and clean. On the territory adjacent to the shore there is an aerarium and a summer exercise therapy room. If desired, you can rent sports and beach equipment.
Beach of the sanatorium "White Nights" is closed to outsiders; a guest ticket can be issued for access to the shore. The length of the beach is approximately 150 meters. For the convenience of visitors, there are cafes and sea entertainment. After swimming, you can sunbathe on the pebbles or go to the relaxation area.
Uch-Dere Beach (Semashko) is the most extreme in the Loo area. Despite its narrow size, it is loved by locals and resort guests. It's all about the forest line that runs along the shore. This is where people come for a picnic and, after a meal, go down to the sea. The lack of entertainment infrastructure will allow you to fully enjoy your vacation.

Loo is a resort village located in Greater Sochi not far from Lazarevskoye. There is a developed infrastructure and some of the cleanest beaches on the entire Black Sea coast. The reason why vacationers go to this particular resort is exactly the same as for those who go to Lazarevskoye - saving travel time. But unlike the nearby resort, holidays in Loo by the sea in 2018 can be characterized as calmer and more measured.
If you stay in Loo or Lazarevskoye, you will always get to the beach in no more than ten minutes. So here everything is at hand and within walking distance.
By plane
Those who go on holiday to Loo by the Sea very rarely fly south by plane. But if a combination of factors such as travel time, a quiet and peaceful atmosphere and clean beaches is important to you, then the plane is for you. Arriving at the airport , you can use the services of a pre-booked taxi. The cost of the trip is about 2200-2500 rubles. ( ) If several people come and the cost of the service can be divided, then this will be a significant plus. You can also get from the airport by train for 120 rubles, and the travel time will take from one and a half to two hours.
By train to Loo
Heading towards Sochi, all passenger trains stop at Loo station. Therefore, getting to Loo by the Sea from the mainland on holiday is not particularly difficult. During the summer season, the Lastochka high-speed train runs from Rostov-on-Don. For many residents of the middle zone and especially the south, this method of getting to the resort may be the most attractive.
By car
You can get to Loo by the Sea by private transport. Many people come here for the silence and clean beaches of the subtropics, but do not want to spend a lot of time overcoming mountain serpentines - that is, for the same reasons as in . The road is standard for all directions of this section. You need to go to the very end of the M-4 Don highway, turning left at the junction at the end towards Dzhubga on A-147. Then it is necessary to cover a distance of more than 100 km, including along mountain passes and serpentines after Tuapse.
At the resort of Loo, the subtropical climate is already coming into its own. Air humidity is high and is accompanied by stuffiness at very high temperatures. The air temperature during the beach season remains above 30 degrees.
Holidays in Loo by the sea: hotels
Private improvised hotels, where you can rent a room, are the most common type of rental housing in the village of Loo. Many mini-hotels can be classified as hotels with three stars or higher. At least almost all of them have suites with very good furniture and a thoughtful layout. And in the themed cafes in these hotels you will be offered dishes of local and European cuisine. So, once I had a chance to try “Parmigiano Field”, and it was no different from the dish in Italy.
Sanatoriums Loo
There are several medical sanatoriums in the village of Loo. So, it has 4 stars and operates on an all-inclusive system. Designed for children, your little ones will rest and heal during their holiday in Loo by the sea in 2018. Also 4 and 4.5-star sanatoriums include:, and. Prices start from 2000-2500 rubles.
Flat rent
Renting an apartment in Loo is not very popular. There are very few multi-storey apartment buildings in the village, and in the small majority of apartment buildings, the owners prefer to rent out rooms.
Cheap guest houses in Loo
The Loo embankment is not very long, but it is well landscaped on the left side of the pier in relation to the sea. The pedestrian zone is made of colored paving stones, and on both sides there are shops with goods for a beach holiday in Loo by the Sea in 2018, souvenirs, and clothing. There are also cozy summer cafes and playgrounds for children. The layout of the embankment is similar to Lazarevskoye, but much shorter, more comfortable and well-groomed. The embankment has been qualitatively improved in the area of the AquaLoo water park.
Central Beach
The central beach in Loo is pebbly and very wide, up to 30 meters. The beach is very clean, with developed infrastructure and thoughtful layout. On the beach, guests will be offered water attractions, amateur diving, fishing, etc. In the evening, in the dark, the beach is illuminated with multi-colored spotlights, which creates a unique atmosphere for vacationers who love to spend time here and listen to the sea surf.
Other beaches
To the left of the central beach of Loo there is a wild beach. Its width is 6-10 meters. There are buoys in the water along the perimeter of this area, and the beach area is well-groomed and constantly cleaned. Along the entire length of the beach there is a dam that strengthens the shore from erosion; in the summer it is overgrown with green vegetation. Local residents and tourists rush to the wild beach on vacation in Loo near the sea, who want to retire in silence from the music and noise on the central embankment.
At a distance from the wild beach there is a beach for nudists. It is hidden from view by vegetation and rocks.
Private beaches
For an amount of 100-150 rubles. per person, anyone can go to the private beaches of sanatoriums and the water park in Loo. They differ from the central beach in an even more landscaped area, a guaranteed wide area, cleanliness, the absence of a large number of people and cleaner water. Of particular note is the beach of the Luchezarny boarding house, the Russian Marvelous House hotel and the Ivushka sanatorium.
Holidays in Loo by the sea: what to see
"AquaLoo" is a sanatorium and resort complex with its own water park. All vacationers can use the water park and the private beach on the embankment. The complex spreads over three thousand square meters. m. There are about ten slopes, relaxation areas, swimming pools, a wave pool, saunas, solariums and much more. The water park is open until 22.00.
Dolphinarium
While relaxing in Loo near the sea with children, you can visit the dolphinarium. The Dolphinarium is not very large, but the professionals working there will present you with an unforgettable show. After the show, visitors will have the opportunity to take photos with the dolphins and swim with them in the pool for an additional fee. The cost is 500 rubles. for adults, and children under 5 years old come with you free of charge. Swimming and taking photos with dolphins is also 2-3 times cheaper than in Sochi, Anapa or Gelendzhik.
This is a unique place near the village of Loo, in the valley of the Shahe mountain river. You can get there as part of an excursion group or by your own transport. With an excursion group, you will first visit the Adygei village, stop by a honey apiary and a tea plantation. After the excursion there will be a tea and honey tasting and only after that you will go to the waterfalls.
By personal transport you should go to the village of Golovinka, and after that follow the signs towards the village of Bolshoy Kichmay, then along the only road towards the mountains. You should not go there after rain, as in some places the road is unpaved and travel can be difficult. At the entrance there are many cafes and a trout farm. So if you are hungry or want to eat after a walk, then you have a huge choice of where to eat.
A kilometer from the village towards the mountains there are the remains of the ruins of an ancient Byzantine temple dating back to the 7-9 centuries AD. You can get there along the path from Astrakhan Street.
Holidays in Loo by the sea: what else to visit
In the Loo area you can also visit the valley of the Ashe River, take a trip on off-road vehicles to the mountains, ride horses at the equestrian tourist base “Paradise Delight”, visit the “Miracle Beauty” gorge, “Mamedovo Gorge” and “Berendeevo Kingdom”.
At the Aquantis diving center you can rent equipment and scuba dive, as well as undergo training and receive a diver certificate.
Holidays in Loo near the sea: kitchen
There are many catering outlets in Loo, which are located on almost every corner. The average bill in the canteen is up to 150 rubles. In addition to the canteens, you can visit Khinkalnaya, the Hot pizzeria, or try a chic kebab at Shashlychnaya No. 1.
There are also many cafes in the village, and the average bill will be 500-1500 rubles. For those who want to relax in restaurants, sanatoriums and boarding houses always welcome visitors.
In many ways, a holiday in Loo by the sea in 2018 can be described as relaxing and secluded. There is no hustle and bustle here, like in Lazarevskoye or the center of Sochi. The sea and beaches are clean, and during leisure time, outside of a beach holiday, there is something to do with yourself. Despite this, many vacationers say that it is a bit boring here, but this is purely a matter of taste.
I do not adhere to the names given by every new semi-handicraft excursion office.
Why do you give your own “leftist” names? Do you use the globe of Armenia???

If you map Armenian settlements, churches, various Armenian societies and cultural centers, enterprises and lands privatized by Armenians, firms owned by Armenians, government organizations headed by Armenians, etc., on a map of the South of Russia, you will get an impressive map of Armenian expansion into the South of Russia .
…When settling the southern territories of Russia, the Armenians used, among other things, “amazing” techniques. As O. Vandysheva from “KP” writes, “immigrants from Armenia bought a house in Russia with an area of 90 square meters and divided it among 120 people (?! - Author). Everyone got a registration."

…
The bulk of the Hamshen Armenians settled in the territory of what is now the Krasnodar Territory and Abkhazia (about 150 thousand people in 1989), Adjara (16 thousand people in 1985), Armenia (about 10 thousand people in the early 1990s. ).Currently, the majority of Hamshen Armenians traditionally live in rural areas: compactly in the villages of the Adler and Lazarevsky districts of Sochi. Although the general ethnic self-name of Armenians (hai) began to predominate, a local division into Dzhaniks, Orduians and Trapizonians remains. It is difficult to determine the number of Hamshen Armenians without special research, since Armenians from various regions live in Sochi. According to the 1989 census, the entire Armenian population of Sochi amounted to 52,628 people. Its numbers increased significantly in the 90s. in connection with migration - mainly from Transcaucasia.

Sochi. Resort Village Loo. Top 5 Tips for Tourists
Loo photo gallery
In September 2014, my husband, my one-year-old child, my parents, my two brothers and sister went on vacation to the sea by car. The journey took us more than 2 days, since we live 2000 km away from him. We got to Sochi, Adler, and wanted to get to Abkhazia, but they didn’t let us in because one of the brothers turned 14 years old a couple of days ago on the road, and we need to have a passport (of course, we’ll do it on the road). But we were told that even if his birthday was on the same day, he would still need to have a passport (I wonder at which passport office you can get a passport on the same day?) But ok, this is not so important. In general, we did not cross the border, turned back and went to the village of Loo, which is located 20 km from Sochi. There, on the recommendations of our friends who were vacationing in July, we settled in the private hotel Fel-Adi.
They gave us a small discount - a luxury room at the price of a regular room - 250 rubles per person. It was clean and cozy. There was air conditioning, a refrigerator, a TV, a toilet with a shower, a wardrobe, and a kettle. We have no complaints about this.
I'll tell you a little about the village itself. Next to the house where we lived there was a Magnit store. Opposite the house there was a shop with vegetables, where prices sometimes went through the roof, sometimes as much as 2 times. For comparison: in the store a kg of watermelons cost 20 kg, and in Magnit 10.
Walking along the streets, we saw various plants. Some were familiar to us - persimmon, pomegranate, some were not. Beautiful palm trees and flowers grow.
fluffy "brush"
There are only 3 Sberbank of Russia ATMs in the village, 1 of which did not work, the second was completely absent - instead it was just a hole in the wall. The third one, the furthest one, was working. Next to it there is a stand selling goods related to the Sochi Olympics.
A sign with prices in one of the canteens - the prices are quite reasonable.
We found a house without doors at the entrance).
There is also a funny cabbage growing in Loo - a long stick and a stalk
There are stands offering excursions everywhere.
We also found it interesting that when a wedding car drives through the village and honks, the local residents all wave back.
Something else:
There are railway tracks in Loo.
In Loo itself there are various stalls with souvenirs, but the choice is small (I compare it with a trip to Kabardinka in 2012 - there was much more choice there).
There is nowhere to go to Loo. Nothing to visit. There are no parks. Again, I compare it with Kabardinka - there was an Old Park, a Trout Farm, and a Dolphinarium.
Yes, of course there is a water park in Loo. BUT: my husband was there, came and said: “This sucks.” Again, there is something to compare with - a water park
