Is it possible to carry chocolate in hand luggage? Carry-on candy on a plane
Almost every one of us has flown on a plane, while packing a suitcase, thinking about what can or cannot be taken into our luggage and hand luggage from things or food on the plane. In this regard, the idea arose to collect frequently asked questions about hand luggage into one article, and write in detail about what from the following list can be carried in hand luggage. As amended as of July 2019.
The first article I wrote about hand luggage and luggage prompted me to collect such frequently asked questions, you can read it by clicking on the following link:
NEW RULES (changes), which were included in the Air Code of the Russian Federation and came into force on October 5, 2017, slightly affected hand luggage, as well as luggage on non-refundable tickets. In the fall of 2018, changes were made to the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and also affected baggage rules. NeitherThe information provided is correct as of July 2019.
It is important to know before the flight, general carry-on luggage:
- Liquids can be taken into the aircraft cabin (in hand luggage) only in jars that do not exceed 100 ml, and the total volume of such jars should not exceed 1 liter, packed in a transparent bag with a zip fastener (see photo below).
- If the air carrier allows you to carry this or that thing, object, product in hand luggage (and even in checked luggage), then the customs office of the country where you are planning to fly may not allow your things through, so Be sure to review the customs regulations of the country where you are flying abroad.
- Products of animal origin It is prohibited to be carried by quite a few airlines - for example, this could include animal fur, ivory, bear bile and much more.
- Since March 2009, it is prohibited to enter the territory of EU countries import dairy and meat products in luggage and hand luggage. The exceptions are: children's and special dietary foods prescribed for medical reasons.
- According to paragraph 135 of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) amended as of 10/05/2017.— in addition to hand luggage and your luggage, you can take one copy of all the items listed below for free (these are the items which are allowed as excess carry-on baggage, established by the carrier in accordance with the Federal Aviation Regulations, and without charging an additional fee, the passenger has the right to carry the following things), that is, for one person in the aircraft cabin, you can take one item from the list below without additional payment, namely:
- backpack, the weight and dimensions of which are established by the carrier’s rules, or a handbag, or a briefcase with things placed in a backpack, or bag, or briefcase;
- bouquet of flowers;
- outerwear;
- baby food for the child during the flight;
- suit in a suitcase;
- baby carrier(baby cradle, restraint systems (devices) for children under two years of age, baby strollers and other devices) when transporting a child, the dimensions of which are established by the carrier’s rules and allow them to be safely placed in the aircraft cabin on a shelf above the passenger seat or under the seat in front passenger seat;
- medications, special dietary needs in the amount required for the duration of the flight;
- crutches, canes, walkers, rollators, folding wheelchair, used by a passenger and having dimensions that allow them to be safely placed in the aircraft cabin on a shelf above the passenger seat or under the seat in front of the passenger seat;
- goods purchased from duty-free shops at the airport, packed in a sealed (sealed) plastic bag, the weight and dimensions of which are established by the carrier’s rules.
And I will note from list at the time the changes were made on 10/05/2017, the following were missing: a video camera, a camera and a computer. In theory, now it turns out that they need to be stuffed into the permitted hand luggage so that they do not end up as additional space for which you still have to pay extra.
Every time you fly by plane, as well as during other trips, you should not forget about your safety and the safety of your luggage. The main difference between airplanes and other transport is that you do not see most of your luggage and cannot guarantee its safety, which is why we try to take everything valuable and important with us in hand luggage, carrying many kilograms on ourselves. However, for quite some time now there has been a much more convenient solution - travel insurance, which often includes the risks of loss and damage to luggage. The simplest insurance can be bought without leaving your home, spending about 700-900 rubles; for this money, in the event of force majeure, you can count on significant compensation, both for loss of luggage and for non-flight, and if you pay a little extra, then for compensation for medical services in a foreign country for the entire duration of the vacation.
What you can take on a plane and what you can’t
Liquids in hand luggage on board an aircraft
I’ll say right away that any liquid brought on board the plane is checked and, if it does not comply with the rules, it may be taken away (not allowed to be carried on board). And the rules in most Russian airlines, and foreign ones, are such that any liquid in hand luggage must be in jars that do not exceed 100 ml, and the entire volume of such jars must be no more than 1 liter, packed in a transparent bag with a zipper. Please note that you cannot take a container larger than 100 ml. (i.e. a 200 ml jar, for example), and pour in the prescribed amount of liquid no more than 100 ml, such a container along with the contents will be confiscated during inspection.
So let's figure out whether the following liquids can be carried in hand luggage:
- Water in hand luggage– no, you cannot carry it into the departure area in hand luggage; usually they ask you to put it in the security check area. The exception is people who have certificates of unfavorable health conditions for whom water is vital, for example, diabetics. Sometimes there are exceptions. We were allowed in with water, but this can be attributed to the human factor (the kindness of the inspector, not strict instructions from a particular airline, etc.). Water can always be purchased in the departure waiting area or asked for on board the plane, as well as carried on board, in containers no larger than 100 ml. and in a total volume of no more than 1 liter.
- Alcohol on board the plane– you cannot carry it in hand luggage (it’s better to check it in as luggage), with the exception of purchases made in Duty Free. However, you may ask me, why not pour the alcohol into 100 ml bottles. (and such bottles are no more than 1 liter) and try to carry them in hand luggage, then I’ll tell you, try it and then write in the comments if it worked, because We haven’t done this ourselves. Duty Free is a duty-free store where you can buy alcohol (no more than 2-3 liters per adult, but there are differences in different countries) and tobacco (no more than 400 pieces or 2 blocks), as well as other goods at affordable price. Alcohol can be purchased after passport control, but only if you are flying non-stop, that is, on a direct flight and after purchasing it arrive at your final destination, otherwise it may be confiscated at the next inspection. If you are flying with transfers, where you need to go through passport control again, then the alcohol purchased at Duty Free will already be considered a prohibited item, and it would be better to put it in your luggage (if you received it during the transfer, but this does not always happen). Duty Free sellers seal your purchases in a bag along with a receipt, so it is better not to open it on board.
Since January 1, 2017, the Internet has been filled with information about the ban on the import of imported alcoholic beverages into Russia. I want to dispel your doubts about whether or not to bring alcohol to Russia in 2017. According to the latest data, it was found out directly from the Domodedovo customs (floridly, indicating articles and not particularly directly), but what, You can carry 2-3 liters of alcohol with your loved ones, as before in checked luggage or purchased at Duty Free. As a rule, airline employees are lenient when exceeding the established prohibitions on the volume of purchases in Duty Free, because this is also part of the airline’s income from the sale of goods.
- Take baby food on the plane– you can bring on board the aircraft as much as you need during the flight, and it is not subject to the 100 ml limit. (no more than 1 liter), because this is vital for the child and all airlines adhere to this rule.
- Liquid medicines on board(potions, suspensions, etc.) - if the jar does not exceed 100 ml in size, then you can take it in hand luggage, the main thing is that all liquids together do not exceed 1 liter and are in a transparent bag with a zipper, as shown in the photo higher. It is better, of course, in the original container, so that it can be seen that this is medicine.
Carrying equipment on board an aircraft
Any non-professional equipment is carried free of charge in addition to hand luggage , i.e. If you have a bag (carry-on luggage), then you can also take a bag with a camera, or a laptop, or a video camera for free. However, if your equipment is professional, then it is transported under other conditions that are set by the airline; the main thing is to call them in advance and find out everything.
Hygiene products to take with you on the plane
- Perfume(or eau de toilette) - you can, if the size of the bottle does not exceed 100 ml. If it still exceeds, then we put it in your luggage.
- Shampoo– you can, if the size of the bottle does not exceed 100 ml, if the container itself is larger, and there is only 100 ml of liquid in it, we still put it in your luggage.
- Air conditioner– the same as with the shampoo above.
- Toothpaste- the same thing, if the tube does not exceed 100 ml in size, you can take it into your hand luggage, the main thing is that all liquids together do not exceed 1 liter and are in a transparent bag with a zipper.
- Deodorant – There are different types of deodorants: a) in pressurized cylinders - these are definitely not allowed in hand luggage, we check them in luggage or don’t take them with us at all; b) dry deodorants - if they are in a tube of up to 100 ml, then you can take it in your hand luggage; c) also liquid deodorants - if the tube is up to 100 ml, you can take it with you on the plane in your hand luggage.
- Aftershave lotion – if its tube is up to 100 ml, then you can take it with you in your hand luggage on the plane. Just remember the rule that the total volume of such tubes (jars) should be no more than 1 liter, packed in a transparent bag with a zip fastener.
Children (food, things, cradle, stroller, toys, medicine) on the plane
Many parents ask questions about transporting children on an airplane - is it possible to carry baby food, clothes, toys, and a stroller in hand luggage? Let's check which of these can be taken into the salon and what not:
- Baby food on the plane It is allowed to take in the quantity that the baby needs during the flight without restrictions.
- Children's medicines— there shouldn’t be any problems with medicines for children either, just remember that it’s better to take liquid medicines no more than 100 ml and put them in a transparent bag.
- Child's luggage (not carry-on luggage)— many Russian airlines allow baggage for a child, we just remember that without providing a seat, a child is allowed to carry 1 piece of baggage ranging in size from 7-10 kg, and if you bought a whole piece for a child, then all the conditions for carrying baggage and hand luggage apply luggage in accordance with the rules of the fare you purchased. However, different airlines may have different views on what yours says.
- Baby cradles and strollers on board the aircraft– a baby bassinet for a child is not prohibited from being carried on any airline (check about the car seat when purchasing a ticket), but the information regarding the stroller in hand luggage is questionable; it is usually required to be checked in as baggage, however, the stroller can definitely be carried for free in addition to checked baggage, i.e. put it in the luggage compartment, the main thing is that it does not exceed a weight of no more than 20 kg.
- Toys– you can take your child’s favorite toy on board the plane in your or his hand luggage (if it is included in the ticket), it can be a teddy bear, a train and much more, the main thing is to comply with the permissible weight of hand luggage.
Medicines on board
Those medications that you may need during the flight can be taken with you in your hand luggage, in the quantity that is required, just remember that I previously wrote about liquids. It is better to take all medications in their original packaging with instructions so that the inspectors do not have any questions. True, don’t be alarmed, how long we flew, no one asked anything. Medicines for the child should also be allowed into the cabin in hand luggage without any problems, just remember that it is better to take liquid medicines no more than 100 ml and put them in a transparent bag.
Usually there are no problems with a small number of tablets that we take with us on a trip in hand luggage, these could be the following tablets:
- From motion sickness
- For headaches
- For indigestion
- Antipyretics
You can see other medications that you may need while traveling in our article:
Also, if you didn’t take any medicine with you, and you have a headache, then you can always ask the flight attendant for something for the headache, because... There is a necessary first aid kit on board.
Ladies' bags, men's briefcases, backpacks
- Lady's bag – According to the Federal Aviation Rules, in Russian airlines a handbag is allowed to be carried free of charge and in addition to hand luggage, that is, you can take a bag with hand luggage and also your handbag and there will be no problems.
- Men's briefcase - Just like a handbag, a briefcase can be carried on board free of charge in addition to hand luggage.
- Backpack - All Russian airlines consider a backpack to be hand luggage if it fits the size and weight of hand luggage, especially since it has now been included in the list allowed in hand luggage under Article 135 of FAP 82
Food products to take with you to the salon
Many people ask the question: “Is it possible to carry food in hand luggage?” I’ll tell you that almost everything is possible within reasonable limits, but there are exceptions, read below:
- Coffee— you can take it in hand luggage, but it’s better not in glass, it’s best to shift it or buy a bag with a zipper.
- Tea— loose stuff can be taken in hand luggage, preferably in its original packaging, so that it is immediately clear what it is. At the same time, various other teas, including cough teas, can also be carried in hand luggage.
- Sandwiches– we had no problems with such food on various flights, including non-Russian airlines. And one from whom food had to be ordered separately.
- Sausage– you can carry a loaf, or even two, of any sausage in your hand luggage, the main thing is that you are flying within Russia, but if you are going abroad, then read the customs rules of the country where you are flying.
- Candies– you can take sweets and chocolates with you in your hand luggage on board the plane.
- Bread– none of the Russian airlines will prohibit you from carrying bread on board the plane in your hand luggage.
- Meat (raw, boiled, minced) and lard– all of the above can be carried in hand luggage in Russia, however, as I indicated above, EU countries prohibit the import (since March 2009) into their territory of dairy and meat products, both in checked luggage and in hand luggage. Exception: children’s and special dietary food prescribed for medical reasons.
- Red caviar– of course, in order not to take risks, it is better to put caviar in your luggage, but if you want to fly only with hand luggage, then, in principle, you will not have any problems when transporting red caviar throughout Russia.
- Fish (raw, dried, dried)— you can carry all of the above in hand luggage in Russia, the main thing is to pack it well, however, as I indicated above, EU countries prohibit the import (since March 2009) of dairy and meat products into their territory, both in checked luggage and in hand luggage. Exception: children's and special dietary foods prescribed for medical reasons. In any case, if you are flying abroad, it is better to study the customs rules of the country where you are going.
- Processed cheese– there have been cases when such cheese was confiscated during the inspection of hand luggage, so it is better not to take it into the cabin, but to pack it and check it in with your luggage or not take it at all. And no one forbids you to bring it on board, in containers no more than 100 ml. and in the total volume of all liquids no more than 1 liter in a transparent plastic bag.
- Honey– you cannot take it in hand luggage on the plane, because It is classified as a liquid and in most cases is removed from hand luggage; it is better to transfer it to luggage, or carry it on board, in containers no more than 100 ml. and in a total volume of no more than 1 liter.
- Fruits (mango, pineapple, etc.)– you can and even need to carry it in hand luggage, the main thing is not to forget about the weight and size requirements for hand luggage from your airline you are flying with.
- Raw eggs (chicken, goose, quail)– you can take them with you in your hand luggage, because... in luggage they can easily be broken or crushed.
- Cereals (buckwheat, rice, etc.)— you can carry all of the above in hand luggage around Russia, however, as I indicated above, if you ate abroad, you need to read the customs rules of the country where you are flying.
How to transport lithium batteries and devices with them on an airplane
1. Small-sized means for personal transportation
Aeroflot has recently allowed the carriage of small-sized means for personal mobility using lithium batteries, These include:
- unicycles,
- Segways (mini Segways),
- hoverboards,
- hoverboards,
- electric scooters,
however, in a certain order, we read below in which:
Typically, this technique runs on a lithium-ion battery, which must be removed from the device itself and carried separately in hand luggage, and the hoverboard itself (and other devices listed above) must be placed and checked in with luggage, but the main thing is that the power of such batteries does not exceed 160 watts at one o'clock.
If you have a built-in battery, then you cannot transport this product as stated above; you must register such cargo with the airline as “Dangerous Cargo,” and this is another story, which I will tell you a little later. It is also important to know that in any case you should call the airline and inform them that you are carrying this device, they will tell you exactly what needs to be done with it, at least Aeroflot has such a rule.
2. Other devices with lithium-ion batteries
Basically, there are the following items with such lithium batteries: phones, laptops, video cameras, watches, players, portable medical devices, and their battery power usually does not exceed 100 Wh, then such devices and equipment can and should be carried in hand luggage. And for other devices with a lithium-ion battery power exceeding 100 Wh, permission from the airline itself is required for transportation on the plane, so you need to call your airline in advance and find out everything.
You can read about other devices that are allowed with lithium batteries in hand luggage in the following article about transportation features .
In other airlines, including the Sibir company, I have not found such a ban, but in any case, such batteries are no joke, and if you do not correctly put such a device in your luggage or hand luggage, you can lose it during security, so it is important to leave 48 hours in advance Before departure, call the airline you are flying with and clarify everything.
Tools in hand luggage
- Screwdriver– in the modern world, screwdrivers have begun to be made with built-in lithium-ion batteries inside, and some airlines impose their own restrictions on such batteries, so it is better to find out directly from your airline in advance before departure how to carry such a tool. If your screwdriver has a regular battery, then we remove all the attachments (prickly and cutting) and put them in your luggage, and take the screwdriver with the battery with you in your hand luggage.
- Pliers
- Spanners– it is better to immediately put this instrument in your luggage and not try to carry it in your hand luggage into the aircraft cabin.
Women's accessories for beauty, as well as for knitting on the plane
Read on to find out whether you can carry on the plane in your hand luggage: a cosmetic bag, a manicure set, a hair dryer, a curling iron, and a hair straightener. We always remember that what is not prohibited can be brought into the salon, the main thing is to know what is prohibited, and these are piercing and cutting objects, harmful substances, as well as those devices that can turn on spontaneously. And from this we draw the following conclusions:
a) A cosmetic bag, which may contain:
- Mascara– you can take it with you in your hand luggage, because... Usually the tube is less than 100 ml.
- Shadows– can be taken in hand luggage
- Concealer– you can take it in your hand luggage, the main thing is that the tube is no more than 100 ml. and all these liquids must be placed in a transparent bag with a zipper, this is done for the convenience of checking your things.
- Eyeliners— it is not a liquid or a sharp object, so you can take it with you in your hand luggage
- Eyelash curler– do not have pointed ends, so there should be no problems with them during security checks and they can be taken in hand luggage on the plane.
- Eyebrow tweezers (available with pointed ends)– it’s better not to take them into the cabin as hand luggage, but to put them in your luggage.
- Hair fixation spray - usually contained in a pressurized container, and such items are prohibited from being carried on board in hand luggage, so it is better to immediately put it in your luggage.
b) The manicure set usually contains piercing and cutting objects that are prohibited from being carried in the aircraft cabin:
- Scissors (scissors)– they are definitely prohibited from being carried in hand luggage on board an airplane (usually Russian airlines prohibit piercing and cutting objects in the aircraft cabin), the best option is to check them in with your luggage.
- Eyebrow tweezers (available with pointed ends)– it’s also better not to take them into the cabin of the plane, because they fit the description of piercing and cutting objects prohibited on board.
- Nail file– if it is metal and sharp, then it is definitely prohibited in hand luggage; put it in your checked luggage.
c) Hair devices such as hair dryer, curling iron, straightener:
d) Knitting
- Knitting needles– no, it is prohibited to take sharp, piercing or cutting objects into the aircraft cabin, so the knitting needles will have to be checked in with your luggage.
- Crochet hooks– it’s also better not to risk having them taken away during the inspection of your hand luggage, put them in your luggage or simply don’t take them with you.
Fragile items to take with you on the plane
Almost all fragile items or items can be taken as carry-on baggage, as long as the size and weight meet your airline's requirements.
- Crystal (glasses)– you can, if the size and weight of your hand luggage meets the requirements of your airline.
- Ceramics (dishes)
- Household appliances (multi-cooker)— you can, if the size and weight of your hand luggage meets the requirements of your airline.
Sports nutrition
You already understood about liquids earlier, and all dry sports nutrition mixtures can be taken on board the plane in hand luggage, the main thing is to comply with the size and weight allowed by the airline you are flying with.
Electronic cigarettes (electronic vaporizers)
E-Sigs— carried on Russian airlines (and foreign airlines as well) only in hand luggage(specifically in the passenger’s belongings on board), they are prohibited from being carried in luggage. They explain that this condition occurs in accordance with the requirements of the Bermuda aviation authorities; apparently, some of the aircraft are registered there, so their requirements must be followed. Liquids for such cigarettes must be packaged as indicated above: no more than 100 ml. bottle and in general no more than 1 liter per person in a transparent bag. Smoking electronic cigarettes on board aircraft is strictly prohibited.
Animals - how to transport them on a plane?
All Russian airlines have strict rules for carrying animals on board:
- When purchasing an air ticket and wanting to transport an animal, you must call and inform the airline, they will tell you whether or not you can transport your animal and, if so, what documents and certificates you will need for it. You can call no later than 48 hours before your departure.
- If your animal is allowed to be transported, then you need to collect all the documents and certificates for it from the veterinary clinic
- Before departure, no later than 3 hours before departure, you must undergo veterinary control and register your pet for the flight.
Also, each airline has its own nuances regarding the transportation of hand luggage; they can be found in the following articles:
And if you want to make sure you are not overpaying for air tickets, you can read the following article:
Write in the comments if you have any questions, I will try to answer everyone as quickly as possible, and also if there are additions and changes to this article that I did not write about or do not know about.
Be lenient when it comes to screening hand luggage and baggage, follow the rules of the airlines, because first of all it is your safety in the aircraft cabin, so I wish you to take your magnificent step on board without unnecessary problems, have a safe journey!

It is possible, but it depends on the country. In Thailand, for example, e-cigarettes are banned, and yours probably is too. The quantity is regulated by the customs regulations of the country. Usually 1 block (10 packs of 20 cigarettes), sometimes more. I think the same applies to sticks
Passengers before a long flight are interested in many questions, and among them is a list of food products that can be taken with them on the plane.
This problem is especially relevant if there is no food on the flight or if the flight is carried out with a small child who can be calmed down with a tasty treat. That is why you need to know whether chocolate can be carried in hand luggage on an airplane and whether sweets are prohibited foods.
According to current standards, a passenger has the right to take sweets and chocolate bars into the cabin in hand luggage under certain conditions:
- The sweets are packaged accordingly - in a branded package, with all the necessary markings and other identifying data.
- Airlines require compliance with the rules for storing sweets - in tightly closed containers or original packaging.
- The passenger is recommended to have a store receipt confirming the purchase of sweets - they are often asked to present it. Especially if the candies were purchased in the Duty Free zone.
Current customs legislation does not regulate the volume and weight of chocolate products that can be carried in hand luggage, but their weight should not exceed the permissible weight of hand luggage, otherwise they will have to be sent as checked luggage. It is best to find out about the specific figure on the airline’s website or check when purchasing a ticket.
Rules may vary from airline to airline. Therefore, before traveling, it will be useful to inquire about the standards of the chosen airline.
There are no restrictions regarding the filling of confectionery products. You can even take products with liqueur or cognac into the aircraft cabin. But such sweets will force the passenger to delay a little during customs inspection.
Most airlines have strict product odor requirements. It should not be sharp or pronounced. A bar of chocolate or candy meets these requirements. Such universal sweets weigh little, do not take up much space and can easily fit into your hand luggage.
The benefits of chocolate on an airplane
Taking sweets with you is not only possible, but also necessary, and there are reasons for this.
- Chocolate on the plane will lift your spirits, relax you, and soothe your fear of flying. This nutritious and high-calorie snack will be needed if you are in the air for a long time.
- In addition, for some airlines, meals are included in the ticket price, while for others, passengers pay extra for it. A bar of delicious, nutritious chocolate, which is in your hand luggage, will help you avoid unnecessary expenses.
- During the flight, there is a sharp change in pressure, as a result of which many passengers have blocked ears. A slice of chocolate or candy will help you avoid this unpleasant problem.
- People with low blood sugar often feel unwell on a plane. They also need to have a sweet bar on hand.
When you go on a trip, feel free to take chocolate bars with you. The treat will definitely come in handy during the flight: you will satisfy your hunger, making the flight pleasant and easy.
Air travel is the fastest and most comfortable way for a passenger to get from point “A” to point “B”. It is difficult to find an adult citizen of our country who has not flown on an airplane at least once. But even experienced airline passengers cannot always accurately answer the question: “What can be taken in hand luggage and what cannot?” We will try to understand in detail all the intricacies of air carrier rules.
Definition of hand luggage and allowance
Carry-on luggage is the name given to the passenger's personal belongings carried in the cabin of the aircraft. Most often these are bags, packages, baskets and backpacks. It is important to understand that it is not the number of items that is counted, but their total volume and weight. How many bags can you take? As many as you like, the main thing is that together they comply with established standards. The standard one that can be taken into the salon is 115 cm in the sum of three dimensions (55x40x20 cm). At the same time, the total weight of passenger bags should not exceed 10 kg for economy and comfort classes; 15 kg for business class. Please note that these are the norms of many major air carriers, including Aeroflot. Some companies set their own requirements for the permissible weight and volume of hand luggage. When using the services of a particular carrier for the first time, you should familiarize yourself with its rules.
What can you take into the cabin, besides hand luggage?
On long flights, passengers want to have as many personal items as possible on hand. Airlines are doing their best to accommodate their customers. Not long ago, a list of items allowed for transportation in the cabin in addition to hand luggage appeared. a diplomat or folder with documents up to 30x40x10 in size is not included in cabin baggage and can be carried by a passenger. During the flight, you can carry 1 laptop, carried in a special bag, and 1 camera/binoculars. In addition to hand luggage, you can take 1 umbrella and a limited amount of newspapers into the cabin for reading during the flight (2-3 newspapers/magazines or 1 book). Each passenger can carry one package of Duty Free purchases. What clothes and accessories can you take in hand luggage? Almost everything respects the general dimensions and weight. Experienced travelers advise: try to wear as much as possible and put it in your pockets. Do not forget that the clothes worn by the passenger (including outerwear during cold periods) are not considered hand luggage. If you fly often, pay attention to special jackets for travelers with many spacious pockets.
Packing your bag for the trip correctly
Most airlines offer their customers very favorable conditions for baggage transportation. It would seem, why take anything else to the salon? But it is still difficult to completely do without hand luggage. We recommend that you pack the bag you will take with you on the flight at the same time as your main suitcase. In your hand luggage you need to put all the most valuable and fragile things, as well as items that you may need during the flight. Be sure to take documents, money, jewelry and electronics with you into the cabin. If you are bringing some fragile souvenirs with you, it also makes sense to place them in your hand luggage. Don't forget about cosmetics. We will describe in detail below how to package liquid cosmetics. When collecting cabin luggage, remember that a suitcase checked into the luggage compartment may get lost. Unfortunately, none of us are immune from such troubles. Accordingly, it would be a good idea to put a full set of clothes for a change in a small travel bag. What hand luggage can you take on a plane, and where should you put your cabin luggage? The most convenient options for packing essentials: a bag or backpack with many compartments. Choose transformers that easily change their external dimensions. This is very convenient if you are flying with a company that has more stringent requirements for hand luggage. Using a transforming bag, you can always change its size in one motion.
List of prohibited items
When packing for a trip, be sure to study and remember the list of things that cannot be taken on board the plane. Airline passengers are prohibited from transporting any weapons, as well as souvenirs and children's toys depicting them. You cannot take any flammable, explosive or toxic substances with you into the aircraft cabin. Attention: household chemicals, cosmetics and some medications fit the description of this category. Many women are accustomed to carrying a manicure set in their handbag. Put it out urgently, since any sharp, piercing or cutting objects cannot be carried in hand luggage. In particular, these are cutlery, knives, tools, cosmetic and medical accessories.
Aeroflot rules. Carry-on luggage: what liquids can you take into the cabin?
Transportation of any liquid substances is a special point in the rules of any airline. From year to year, the standards are becoming more and more stringent, and this is done solely for safety reasons. The thing is that, under the guise of household liquids, terrorists have repeatedly tried to smuggle explosives on board. How much liquid can you take in your hand luggage today? Let's look at the example of the standards of the largest air carrier in Russia - Aeroflot. One passenger can take into the aircraft cabin no more than 1 liter of liquids packed in containers with a volume of no more than 100 ml. All liquid products must be stored in one resealable transparent bag, the recommended size is 20x20 cm. The definition of “liquid” includes any cosmetics, food, and other non-solid substances. Carefully study the rules of a particular airline. In most cases, products such as lipstick, toothpaste, cosmetic creams, canned food, soups, jam and caviar are also considered “liquids”.
Duty Free purchases
Many airline passengers love to shop at Duty Free. Airline companies please their customers with the absence of strict requirements and restrictions in this regard. Today, each passenger has the right to carry 1 package of Duty Free purchases with him in the aircraft cabin. Take the time to study the intricacies of the legislation of the country into which you are importing such luggage. For example, one person can bring only 2 liters of alcoholic beverages and 2 cartons of cigarettes into Russia. When flying on transit flights, the Duty Free package becomes part of the passenger's hand luggage during a transfer. Remember this rule, and if you plan on shopping during the flight, leave enough space in your cabin luggage for purchases.
Is it possible to take food into the cabin of an airplane?
A popular question among novice air travelers is: “Can I take food and snacks in my hand luggage?” During long flights, passengers are provided with meals on board. But it is still much more pleasant to have, albeit a small, but personal supply of food. Food products can be taken in hand luggage. The main thing is not to forget about the norms for transporting liquids. Respect the people around you and try to choose foods that don’t have a strong smell for a snack on your trip. It is also advisable to take with you for snacks foods that do not crumble. The best option is dried fruits, nuts, fruits, vegetables, sweets.
Rules for the carriage of non-standard baggage
It is not recommended to place fragile or valuable items in the luggage compartment, as the risk of damage is too great. If you plan to take anything unusual with you on your trip, check with your airline representative when purchasing your ticket. Animals are allowed to be transported in the aircraft cabin in specially equipped cages and carriers. Most airlines require an additional payment for this service in the amount of the cost of excess baggage. Is it possible to take musical instruments and large, highly sensitive equipment in hand luggage? Transportation of large and fragile items in the aircraft cabin is discussed individually. In most cases, air carriers accommodate passengers halfway. Carriage of non-standard luggage in the cabin is not always free. For example, a passenger may be asked to purchase a separate ticket for a large musical instrument and advised to transport it in a purchased seat.
Where is hand luggage stored?
If you are flying for the first time, do not hesitate to ask the flight attendants for help stowing your cabin luggage. Hand luggage in the aircraft cabin is carried on the overhead shelves (located above the passenger seats) and/or on the floor under the seats. Try not to put away things that will be used during the trip: snacks, gadgets, books and magazines. All the necessary little things can be placed on the folding table. If you're still wondering how much hand luggage you can take on a plane, choose two bags or one backpack and a bag. If you divide all the cabin luggage into two parts, it will not be difficult for you to manage it.
Be sure to check what you can take in hand luggage and what you can’t at the stage of purchasing a ticket. The thing is that the rules of different airlines may differ slightly. During the flight, listen to and follow all requirements and recommendations of the flight attendants. Remember, you cannot use most modern gadgets while flying. Computers, tablets and smartphones create and receive electronic signals that can interfere with the operation of aircraft controls. Be mutually polite to other passengers. Try to behave quietly and calmly, without creating inconvenience for others. Now you know what you can take in your hand luggage, and this is not such a small list of things. Many experienced travelers prefer to travel around the world with cabin luggage. Try and limit yourself to 10-15 kilograms of things. Perhaps traveling light will be an unexpectedly pleasant discovery for you.

What's all this nonsense about food bans??? It is possible and necessary - it is not known what they will use on board. “Even water” may not be allowed through - this is generally pleasing - since water is not allowed through, like any liquids packaged over 100 ml and with a total volume of more than a liter. And this does not apply to children's water and nutrition. Allowed in reasonable quantities. As for the “terrible” Boryspil, most likely they will not take away a bottle of water from the elderly either. Further...
We are flying with flydubai and they won’t provide food on the plane (you can order food, but they say it’s expensive), they said that you can’t take anything with you, not even water. But like 4-4.5 hours without water, without anything. Maybe it’s still possible, at least a small 0.5 liter bottle? And can I have some cookies, candy bars, candies? Or do you still recommend ordering food? Also, tell me, when you fly on an airplane, can you use your mobile phone as an mp3 player? I will be flying for the first time, I don’t know anything about airplanes... Is it possible to take pictures on an airplane? And another, maybe a very strange question, but still - is there a kettle and cups in the rooms at this hotel? If you take a kettle or boiler with you at customs, will there be any questions about this? And if a small kitchen knife is in your luggage, is it okay?

1. At the stand it is written that you cannot bring drinks and food on board the plane, but if you really want it, you can. You put it in your bag (which flies with you as hand luggage) and calmly go through security (they won’t tell you anything at all). But maybe the rules for Euro 2012 have been tightened. Then they will simply politely ask you to throw it in the trash (there are trash cans right there). 2. It is advisable to turn off your mobile phone. It still operates at radio frequencies - this can lead to some interference in aircraft systems. Why test... More...

You can carry everything. I carried sausage, lard, black bread, vodka and cognac, as well as a couple of canned goods and ketchup. Those who are not in the know are indignant about “redneckism”. Food prices are very high in Dubai. The same instant noodles will cost about 2-3 dollars per package. Coffee, etc. is also overpriced, aimed at rich foreigners. Another issue is quality. “Doshirak” in the UAE is eaten by Pakistanis and Indians, so a European will not be able to eat “it” - there are a lot of spices and pepper. Therefore, it is worth bringing with... More...

It is possible and necessary!!! call Georgika Clooney viber +201090161408, he sends his minibus to your hotel, the choice of fruits is large - dates, mangoes, pomegranates, figs, strawberries, all at 1 dollar. per kg, strawberries are more expensive, he packs everything for you in a box, makes a handle and you can easily take it with you in your hand luggage. He will also take you back to the hotel for free, for all other goods he also has normal prices, I took coffee, towels with embroidery, T-shirts, scarves, sweets in boxes, if you take several pieces - discount... There is something I just don’t understand: Import of products of animal origin Such products cannot be imported without veterinary control. However, a veterinary certificate is not required for: products that are part of personal luggage during the trip; baby food and products used for medical reasons; food for pets weighing up to 1 kg. All imported products must be declared and packaged in undamaged containers. Note: without a certificate you cannot import meat and meat products, milk and dairy products, eggs, rendered lard, etc.

Total 11.What things do airplane pilots know that everyone else doesn't?
Tonya Samsonova 13One of these facts is that very often one or more corpses fly on an airplane along with living passengers. Every modern passenger liner usually carries some cargo or mail in the hold. Very often these are real human corpses; in international practice, the conventional code HR (human remains) is used to designate them during radio exchanges. When people die far from home, they need to be brought back somehow. Well, the captain, of course, is always aware of what cargo he has on board.
Another fact well known to pilots is that modern airliners survive lightning strikes very often and without any problems. An airplane flying at high speeds through a mass of air experiences a large friction force and, accordingly, gains a static charge. In thunderstorm conditions, airplanes are regularly struck by lightning for this reason. This does not cause significant harm because All wiring and all electronics on board are securely shielded.

Total 1.Is it possible to take a box of chocolates on a plane as hand luggage?
Flight across Russia. I wonder if they will take away my box of chocolates for my child for the New Year.
Pavel4242 1The rules for carrying hand luggage do not differ much from airline to airline. I have flown many times both in Russia and abroad. You definitely cannot take sharp objects, toxic, flammable substances and liquids with a volume exceeding 100 ml into the aircraft cabin. I have repeatedly carried in my hand luggage:
- Turkish sweets: Turkish delight, halva, baklava;
- cookies, sandwiches, bread;
- canned fish;
- candies, chocolate;
- dried fruits with nuts.
Flew with Aeroflot, Ural Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Pegasos, UTair,
Red wings and others. I've never had any complaints about my carry-on luggage. Therefore, feel free to take a box of chocolates into the cabin if you are not flying with Pobeda Airlines - you can expect everything from them. To dispel your doubts, you can go to the airline’s website or call the hotline. Have a great flight!

Please tell me, can I carry sweets and chocolate bars in my hand luggage on an international flight? And how many kg of hand luggage are allowed? Some say 5kg, some say 7kg. I wonder if hand luggage is weighed when checking in? Guest 1Hand luggage is weighed.
Chocolate is okay.
For kilograms, it is better to check with the air carrier.
What can you take on a plane in your hand luggage?
Guest 5In 2017, you can take the following items with you on a plane in your hand luggage:
Valuables, from documents to equipment, are not only possible, but also necessary to take with you, so that in case of problems with luggage you do not have to worry about this additionally.
Medicines required during the flight. In this case, it is better to get a certificate in advance stating that you suffer from some kind of disease, and for you having medications with you is a vital necessity. Otherwise, the medications may be confiscated.
Baby food. If a limit of 100 ml is introduced on liquids and other substances in a liquid state, then you can take more food. But it is better if it is packaged in a plastic container.
Non-hazardous liquids in proper packaging. Firstly, each container should not be larger than 100 ml, and secondly, many companies require that these containers be placed in a plastic bag with a zipper.
Baby cradle.
Crutches for a person who cannot move without them.
Products from duty-free stores. Of course, if you bought something in such a store, you can no longer check in two liters of alcohol or two cartons of cigarettes (this is the standard maximum). But still, the goods should not be unpacked, but in the store they should be placed in a special bag.
According to the requirements of companies such as Aeroflot, electronic cigarettes should only be in hand luggage; they are prohibited in luggage.
