When is the season
The climate is mostly hot, with mild winters.
Spring refreshes the mountain valley and brings the joy of green decoration. There are rainy days at this time. Alushta residents gratefully accept this care of nature for their gardens, vineyards, and fields.
Tourists often come in summer and early autumn, when there is a lot of sun and not at all stuffy, thanks to the pleasant sea breezes. At night, winds blow from land to sea.
In autumn, the heat ends and cozy warmth sets in - nature is most conducive to communication precisely on September days, and often in the first half of October.
Winter rarely brings frosty days or snow. The warmth of the Black Sea and the southern slopes of the mountains can be felt in winter. It rains more often than in summer.

Tourists call Alushta the city itself and several resort villages nearby. They make your vacation more diverse.

The private sector is poorly developed here. Large health resorts operate year-round. July peak prices for daily accommodation start at 2,500 rubles.

- The central part of the city is the hospital area, Simferopolskaya Street, the central part of Lenin Street and the lands adjacent to the embankment. Flat terrain mostly with old houses. In the center there are many shops, a hospital, children's and adult clinics, a school, a church, a cinema... (To be continued.)
- Professor's Corner. Today it is a purely resort, quiet and cozy area. There is no usual urban infrastructure here.

Kitchen
There are many cafes, bars and restaurants. There are no specialties on the menu, but everything is quite tasty. The assortment of fish dishes is amazing. The bill will not be catastrophic, but decent.
A word of caution: where tourists visit out of curiosity - residential areas, for example - catering establishments should be treated with caution. The fact is that you may not like the cuisine here, although for some Alushta residents it is quite acceptable.

History of Alushta
Alushta was built by conquering warriors of different nations. They all needed her. Over her long life, she filled her soul with an understanding of many human endeavors.
It is no coincidence that Alushta residents are so friendly to tourists and it is no coincidence that Alushta has many sister cities.
B.C
On the slope of Mount Kara-Tau, travelers are stopped by a limestone menhir. Some are trying to estimate its size, others are pondering its purpose. The locations of megaliths themselves can awaken hidden possibilities in a person. And he can comprehend the message of the ancients. Alushta shows impressed travelers the second megalithic riddle, not erased by time: a cromlech on a growing mound.
The first mention of the Tauri, inhabitants of the southern coast of Crimea, was found in a Greek source. One of the legends about them is to some extent confirmed by the “Tale of Vasilisa the Beautiful,” where Baba Yaga handed her blessed daughter a skull with burning eyes on a stick... In the Alushta Valley, the Tauri left unusual tombs of their relatives. Archaeologists called them "stone boxes." There is an assumption that the chosen ones, who knew something about life after death, were buried in them. Perhaps after the funeral they carried out a task in the next world. Jewels of the Taurians were discovered by archaeologists in a mountain sanctuary in the depths of the Gurzuf Saddle pass. What they saw there made them want to repeat: “If you want to see the whole world, visit Crimea!”
Our era. Aluston Fortress
In the Alushta valley there were at least six settlements at the beginning of our era. In the specific mountain conditions, both warriors who guarded merchant ships from attacks by pirates and cattle breeders of different nations could live. The dead were burned, the ashes were placed in ceramic urns - this is typical for the Slavs, Greeks and Romans, Celts, and Germans.
At this time, the Roman-Byzantines built the Aluston fortress - at the mouth of the mountains (al). And by the end of the 7th century, those warriors left it.
Khazar influence
And the Khazars settled in the east of Crimea. Under them, two new large settlements and six pottery centers appeared in the Alushta Valley. Residents of Alushta and other settlements made wine in large quantities. Crimean amphorae for wines are often found by archaeologists in the distant Volga region on the vast lands of the Khazar Kaganate.
The power of Khazaria ended with the crushing campaign of the Kyiv prince Svyatoslav in 965 for the Kaganate. Svyatoslav “took revenge on the foolish Khazars,” and again the mountainous Crimea fell into the area of Byzantium.
Return of the Romans and their enemies
To strengthen its military power, Byzantium organized military-administrative districts in the mountainous regions of Crimea. Byzantine fortresses took on the destructive attacks of the enemies of the Roman Empire.
Wars of conquest exhausted the inhabitants of the Alushta Valley. The surviving communities climbed the steep mountain slopes and built inaccessible fortresses on the peaks. They were waiting for the coming changes. Today those fortresses can be seen on the mountains of South Demerdzhi (formerly Funa), Kastel, Seraus, Ai-Yori.
Medieval Alushta
In the 12th century, a large, beautiful seaside town grew up around Aluston. This is the time of the founding of the Crimean Khanate. By the will of the khan, Alushta became one of the trading centers of Genoese merchants. The defensive wall and towers, which partially survive to this day, were assembled by the Genoese in the second half of the 15th century for defense against the Ottomans.
At the same time, the Funa fortress appeared at the foot of Mount Demerdzhi. In it, the Turkish conquerors were opposed by the small but brave squad of Prince Gothia. The Ottomans destroyed the walls of the fortress, but the settlement of Funa existed for several more centuries before the start of major collapses from Mount Demerdzhi.
Alushta in the Ottoman Empire
The entire city burned down in hellfire during the Turkish conquest. The fortress and the main city temple were destroyed and were never restored.
The Ottomans left behind the Genoese colonies and the Principality of Mangup. The Crimean Khanate became a vassal of the Ottoman Porte. The Turks sent their officials to Alushta and strictly collected taxes. But they did not prevent its inhabitants from preserving ancient traditions, rituals, and seeking answers to spiritual questions in Christianity.
Alushta in the Russian Empire
On July 18, 1774, the Turkish army landed on the shore near the village of Alushta. Combat units of the Russian army headed here.
A memorable battle for Alushta residents took place on July 23. Here the 7-8 thousandth army of the Turks and a detachment of 2850 people under the command of General V.P. Musin-Pushkin met. The Turks took an excellent position in the gorge, where they strengthened the steep rock cliffs with retrenchments. Russian troops launched an attack with two squares, approached the retrenchments despite the gunfire and repulsed them! The Turks were amazed and fled, leaving their batteries behind. The Russian battalions, having driven the Turks out of Funa, stopped the pursuit by order.
In that battle, Lieutenant Colonel Golenishchev-Kutuzov, who commanded the grenadier battalion, was wounded. It would seem fatal. It is said that the soldiers washed his wounds with water from a spring. Mikhail Illarionovich woke up and asked for a drink. Later, the great commander visited the spring and planted a poplar tree near it. Today there is a monument “Kutuzov Fountain” here.
According to the peace treaty, the Ottoman Empire had to give up its lands in Crimea to the Crimean Khanate.
The further dance of political thought around the independent Crimea ended with its annexation to Russia.
New perspectives
To develop the southern coast, Russian soldiers by 1827 built a road from Simferopol to Alushta through the Angarsk Pass. There is a monument to soldier-builders at an altitude of 850 m above sea level at a distance of 14 km from Alushta.
By 1837 the Yalta highway was ready. In the same year, the foundation stone of a church took place on Fortress Hill in Alushta. The new temple amazed the Alushta residents with its splendor.
Russian intellectuals settled on the land of Alushta (in the Professor's Corner).
By the end of the century, the village already had a horse-drawn postal station with a spacious main building and a new pier to the delight of buyers of Alushta’s rich harvests and romantics.
Alushta is a resort town
In 1902, the village of Alushta, together with the private properties adjacent to it, received the status of a city without a district.
The number of guests immediately increased. The peak of resort life was during the grape season (August). Doctors prescribed the miraculous varieties Chaush and Chasl to patients. They also treated with kumis. Kefir came into fashion.
Alushta in the First World War
The resort lifestyle that Alushta residents increasingly liked was destroyed by the war. In the new Yaly-Bakhcha hotel, instead of resort guests, luxury apartments accommodated wounded soldiers and officers of the Russian army. Infirmaries opened in the city.
By January 18, 1918, Soviet power was established in Alushta.
The transformations became more and more significant. Although the city remembers a number of dramatic episodes from the Civil War...
The organization of the Alushta resort continued. Soon, new thousands of visitors greeted Alushta residents in different languages of the peoples of the USSR. The 1940 season was good, but the next year war broke out.
Alushta in the Great Patriotic War
In July 1941, the 1st battalion of the 37th militia brigade left Alushta. In total, more than 2,000 residents fought from the city and its surroundings at the call of their hearts in the ranks of the Russian army. Alushta partisans set up a camp under the Chamny-Burun peak. The detachment repeatedly demonstrated military valor in the fight against the invaders. Alushta was significantly destroyed during the battles for the city. Before this day, the Nazis managed to shoot 500 Alushta residents, and more than 200 townspeople were forcibly sent to work in Germany.
It was difficult for Alushta residents to understand why the people's commissars of the RSFSR at one time recognized the cultural potential of the Crimean Tatars and Karaites, assigned Crimea the status of an Autonomous Republic, sought to gain the full trust of the indigenous population, and discovered a lack of trust in it by undertaking the deportation of the Crimean Tatars from the liberated Crimea. Several dozen families from Alushta were resettled.
But a large number of collective farmer volunteers came from various regions of Russia and Ukraine.
Post-war years
In 1948, a scientific conference was held to assess the productive forces of the Alushta region; it laid the foundation for many innovations.
We rose from the ruins of the sanatorium building.
A beautiful staircase leading up to the Genoese Tower, a white semi-rotunda, appeared on the reconstructed city embankment.
Alushta in the Russian Federation
At the beginning of 2014, the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol seceded from Ukraine and returned under the protection of Russia.
In 2017, the creation of a multifunctional sports complex for training Russian national teams began on the basis of the aging Spartak sports center.

Another wonderful place is. A visit to this place will not cost much, but will help you spend time in close unity with nature. The site belongs to the Crimean nature reserve, therefore, it is protected. A significant part of it is an almost natural forest area, where species of trees and shrubs typical of the Crimea grow, including evergreens.
The air here is very good for health.
The zoo is quite small, but there is less formalism in it than similar institutions in big cities. The child will be able to see, for example, swans in an almost natural environment. On this territory you can find a cute raccoon, a whole family of wild boars with lively striped piglets, and birds of prey. Parents who bring very young children here need to be careful and make sure that the child does not come too close to the nets and does not try to stick their hands through them.
The dendrozoo can be reached by minibus going from Alushta to. But you need to take into account that the name “Reserve” is used by the required stop only in the opposite direction - if you are traveling from the capital of Crimea. As a result, you will have to navigate the bus station, the desired stop is right behind it.
Neptune's Kingdom: go and remember it for life

Another opportunity in Alushta to communicate with nature is to visit. It has been operating since 2003, and since then its collection has increased significantly.
Now it has 250 species of fish, as well as several varieties of turtles and crabs, and even crocodiles.
The aquarium occupies 4 halls, stylized as underwater caves. Here you can see the Black Sea marine fauna, freshwater fish from rivers all over the world, and elegant fish of the Indian Ocean. The collection of the attraction also contains specimens that will certainly interest children and will allow them to learn a lot about underwater inhabitants: flat flounder, electric stingray, seahorse, sticky fish, voracious piranhas. For a small additional fee you can feed a small crocodile.
The Alushta Aquarium also presents an exhibition of shells and corals from the southern seas. Its sister institution is the Jungle World exhibition (entrance fee applies), where it’s easy to see the interesting little inhabitants of the hot forests. You can take pictures with them without fear; the employees allow you to pet them and even pick them up, since the animals are completely tame. The exhibition is located in the same building as the Aquarium, so you can combine their visits.
Crimea in the palm of your hand - the best place for children and not only
- Address: Gorky street, 7.
When thinking about where to go with your child in Alushta, you shouldn’t forget about the area. Here, among other things, there is an interesting one.
It is located very close to the Aquarium described above.
Among the greenery of the park are models of the most famous buildings of the peninsula. They are made on a scale of 1:25 with all the details. Over the course of several years, more than 120 people worked on the creation of a unique complex: architects, photographers, engineers, and artists. Both historical buildings and the most notable structures of the modern era are presented here.
Two steps away from each other, they settled down here and
Alushta occupies one of the leading positions in the list of the best resorts in Crimea. Even in tsarist times, dachas of the richest and most famous people in Russia were built on this territory. During the Soviet period, a road was built from Simferopol to Yalta. She passed through a popular resort. Driving past the city and appreciating its panorama, guests of the Crimean resorts certainly returned here again.
We propose to study the list of entertainment and places of cultural heritage of Crimea, which will help you decide what to see and where to go when you arrive in Alushta.
City embankment
The longest on the entire Crimean peninsula. Its length is about 7 km. The popular walking path exceeds 3 km. Part of the coast consists of mini-hotels: here you will be offered a huge selection of accommodation near the seashore.
In the other part there are large boarding houses. Some of them were founded back in Soviet times. All beaches in this region are free, but you will have to pay for additional services. Sun loungers, showers, toilets and even shade from umbrellas - everything costs money. At the height of the season, the embankment is full of tourists, music is playing, animators conduct morning exercises and invite vacationers to repeat the movements of incendiary dances, cafes and small shops are open.
The Russian merchant Nikolai Dmitrievich Stakheev made a huge contribution to the improvement of this place. At the end of the 19th century, when the area consisted of many detached dachas, he invested a lot of money and effort into its modernization. He began the construction of a walking alley along the sea, installed electricity to the shore, installed street lights, and ordered benches to be placed.
The center of the pedestrian zone is decorated with a rotunda - the main symbol of the city, the most popular location. Local residents make appointments near it and tourists are sure to take memorable photographs. It was built in 1951. This is a preserved monument to the Stalin Empire style, a once popular architectural style.
Historical sites and Professor's Corner
On the territory of Big Alushta, which includes all the adjacent villages, you can see interesting buildings from a historical point of view - mansions of the Russian intelligentsia of the second half of the 19th century.
The first scientist to arrive was Doctor of Geology and Mineralogy Golovkinsky, who, after retiring, decided to fulfill his old dream and buy a house by the sea.
Very soon, large-scale construction began near his dacha. Golovkinsky's example was followed by other prominent scientists. Among them are professor of medicine Golubev and the first Russian female doctor Suslova. Their house still stands at the foot of Mount Castel. But over 100 years the building has changed a lot, now 15 families live in it.
The appearance of eminent teachers and other intelligentsia in the village gave the area its name - Professor's Corner. Currently, this area is not much different from others; local residents are happy to rent out rooms to vacationers. The name and architecture of that era, ancient doors of living quarters and stone fences remind us of the former inhabitants.
What to see in Alushta and the surrounding area on your own
Only a small number of historical monuments have been preserved in their original form, but this city has an interesting fate. The land repeatedly passed from one state to another. The most interesting and important buildings were converted into museums. If you're here, be sure to visit the following attractions.
Aluston Fortress
In the heart of the city are the ruins of an ancient fortification called Aluston. It is because of him that the settlement got its name.
A powerful fortification was erected during the reign of Byzantine Emperor Justinian I in the 6th century. The building consisted of 3 towers: the lower Ashaga-Kule was best preserved, the middle (Orta-Kule) and the upper (Chatal-Kule) did not survive to this day. The stone shield could withstand any attacks from enemies. The thickness of the walls was 3 meters, the height exceeded 9 m.
The difficult situation forced the Byzantines to leave the settlement. The region was empty for long. The Khazars occupied the territory and built a Christian church inside the structure.
Several centuries later, the owner of the fortress changed again. Now the Genoese took the leading position. In the 15th century, the rich settlement of Aluston was burned during an attack by Turkish invaders. Since then, no one has restored the fortification. Its walls support many private houses.
Despite a sign indicating the value of the fortress as a cultural heritage site of federal significance, residents do not treat it very carefully. Some use construction stones to strengthen fences.
Museum of History and Local Lore
The Central Museum of Taurida was opened in 1923. It was closed several times, transferring the most important exhibits to Yalta and Bakhchisarai. But today here you can see the most ancient household items found on the territory of the South Coast, learn about the history of the region and the peninsula as a whole: about the main wars and the lives of people who survived repeated changes of power.
House of merchant Stakheev
When tourists wonder where to go in Alushta, the local population recommends that they visit one of the most beautiful buildings - the cottage of Nikolai Dmitrievich Stakheev. He was the nephew of the famous artist Shishkin, not only was he a successful trader, but he also loved painting and was actively involved in charity work.
It was he who built the Alushta embankment, and also invested a lot of money in the restoration of historical monuments of the southern coast of Crimea. It is not surprising that he built a dacha on the Black Sea coast. The estate with magnificent white columns, created from marble-like limestone, received the romantic name “Otradnoe”. The architect of the house was Krasnov from Yalta. He designed the famous Livadia Palace.
Today, the two-story villa is the center of children's and youth's creativity. The once luxurious park built around the estate has fallen into disrepair over the years. But even now there are more than 100 plant specimens on its territory, many of which are unique.
House-Museum of A. Beketov
In 1896, the famous Crimean architect Alexey Nikolaevich Beketov built a two-story cottage. The building is emphasized asymmetrical, which makes it seem small and cozy. The walls are made of stone, the porch and terrace are specially designed in different styles. Wooden columns with capitals and ubiquitous “Moorish” elements give the estate a special charm.
Today there is a gallery here, the idea of which belonged to local residents. On the walls of the halls you can see works of art by painters of the 19th-20th centuries. Contemporary artists also exhibit their works here. The fund contains about 1000 paintings.
Temple of All Crimean Saints and Theodore Stratelates
In the first half of the 19th century, Count Vorontsov decided to build a large Orthodox church in the Gothic style. The Temple of All Crimean Saints externally resembles English rural churches. Vorontsov himself, who spent his childhood in Britain, played an important role in the development of the project. The townspeople loved this place; donations were actively collected for its construction, and later for restoration. One of the patrons was businessman Stakheev, whose house was described above.
During the formation of the USSR and during the Second World War, many elements of the church were destroyed. Only in the 80s of the last century did the Alushta residents achieve the allocation of state funds for the restoration of the temple. In 1992, the ancient Orthodox ritual was resumed: on Epiphany night, parishioners light candles, go to the sea and at exactly midnight enter the water.
Literary and Memorial Museum of Sergeev-Tsensky
Soviet writer Sergei Nikolaevich Sergeev-Tsensky - author of the novels “Babaev” and “Sevastopol Strada” - at the age of 30 he moved to live on the Black Sea coast. It was 1905. On the southern slope of Mount Orlinaya, he acquired a plot of land on which he built a mansion. The house has a U-shape, a wooden veranda and three entrances. To this day, the environment in which the writer and his wife lived has been preserved inside. The estate was opened as a museum several years after the death of Sergei Nikolaevich. Meetings of writers continue in the living room, music continues to play, and excursions are organized.
Jur-Jur waterfall
At any time it will delight tourists with a magnificent view. The waterfall is located in the village of Generalskoye. The Eastern Ulu-Uzen River originates at the top of the mountain. It descends in cascading rapids, forming a delightful 5-meter stream. The name comes from the sound of rushing water; according to various sources, the word has Armenian or Iranian roots. Magnificent mountain landscape, steep cliffs and picturesque forest. Want to see it all? Come to Jur-Jur.
You can get to Generalskoye in any way: by minibus or by private car. The road from the village to the destination takes approximately 20 minutes and stretches for 2 km. It is better to drive through a difficult section in a large SUV. You should keep this in mind before you set off.
Museum of Disasters on the Waters
The memorial complex “In memory of those killed on the waters” was built at the beginning of this century. It includes several interesting buildings. The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, which at the same time is the tallest lighthouse on the coast, and the viewing platform in the form of a deck attract thousands of tourists every year.
On the ground floor there is a gallery, the total area of which occupies about 600 square meters. The exhibition includes more than 500 exhibition items. They talk about terrible shipwrecks that occurred at sea. Here you can see models of famous tragically sunken ships, anchors raised from the ocean floor, and various means of rescue.
House-Museum of Shmelev I.S.
Another Russian writer Ivan Shmelev lived and worked in Crimea for about 5 years. He found himself on the peninsula during a difficult period, surviving the horrors of the famine of 1921. His home, like many similar mansions, is located in the Professor's Corner.
House-Museum of Brownies
Another Crimean miracle is called a small rural house in which brownies live. Artists Nikolai and Natalya Nikonorov create a huge number of wooden inhabitants from different types of wood. Each of the exhibits presented is unique. Here you can purchase your own keeper of the family hearth and take him home. Fans of otherworldly powers should definitely visit this unusual museum. They say that the presence of inexplicable magic is felt in it.
Yusupov Palace
Every guest who visits Alushta asks the question: what interesting things are definitely worth seeing in the city? The richest Yusupov family has always been of interest to Russian and foreign tourists. During the period of active settlement of Crimea by Russian nobility - at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, this dynasty also acquired a cottage here that once belonged to Princess Golitsyna.
In 1880, young Felix Feliksovich, heir to a huge fortune, bought an estate, the reconstruction of which he entrusted to the famous architect Krasnov. It was in this mansion that Yusupov’s engagement to Irina Alexandrovna, the niece of Nicholas II, took place.
After the October Revolution, the villa was nationalized and used as a state dacha. During the Yalta Conference, the palace housed Soviet representatives and Joseph Stalin himself. Today the building is under the jurisdiction of the President of Russia. This means that visiting the mansion is only possible in a group with the obligatory involvement of a guide.
Walk along the hiking routes of the Alushta Mountains
What to see and where to go? Newbies are interested in this question. Experienced tourists already know the answer. An incredible number of mountain trails leading to waterfalls and caves are especially popular in late spring and early summer. At this time of year, the sun has not yet had time to heat the earth, and the mountain rivers are full of water. The bottomless cave in the Chatyr-Dag massif, the Valley of Ghosts, and the Khapkhal Gorge are accessible to anyone. The most persistent ones go on long hikes for several days.
Entertainment for children and adults
Couples with children will also find leisure options. Alushta offers a large amount of entertainment for the youngest guests.
The Dolphinarium will give both adults and children unforgettable emotions. Stunning performances with sea animals, playing ball with dolphins, the opportunity to take pictures and even swim with these amazing mammals. What could be more beautiful?
Alushta water park is located in the Professor's Corner. A large selection of slides, a lazy river, artificial rocks, a wave pool and tons of greenery are all present at the Almond Grove. A special feature of the establishment is that it is part of the resort and recreational complex of the same name, which has 3 hotels. Having settled here, tourists will be able to visit any water activities every day absolutely free of charge.
Multipark - on the territory of the Alushtinsky sanatorium, just a few years ago a park appeared that not a single child can pass by. Bright colorful sculptures in the form of cartoon characters from Soviet and foreign cinema. Shrek, Snow White and the dwarves, Matroskin the cat, Winnie the Pooh and many beloved heroes are welcome to visit children and their parents every day.
The Miniature Park is a truly unique area that allows you to see all the main attractions of the peninsula in just 80 minutes. To do this, you don’t even need to leave Alushta. Interesting places are collected in one park called “Crimea in Miniature”. Famous palaces and castles, medieval fortresses, temples - all structural elements can be examined in great detail.
Dendrozoo – if your children haven’t had enough of playing, you can visit another interesting corner, which contains more than 370 unique plants. Many of them are included in the Red Book. At the same time, a variety of animals live in the enclosures: fox cubs, deer, wild boars, squirrels, as well as a number of birds.
Where to eat deliciously
As in any other region of Crimea, there are countless catering establishments. Along the entire length of the central embankment there are catering establishments where you can have a small snack or a hearty dinner. Guests and residents consider the Vstrecha restaurant to be one of the popular restaurants; it is located at 2 Lenina Street. Reasonable prices and delicious food will not leave any visitor indifferent. Regardless of the size of your wallet and wishes, you can always find a place for your soul in the city.
This is how different and unique it is - Alushta. Where can you go while relaxing at this wonderful resort? The choice is huge. But the main thing on the southern coast of Crimea, of course, is not the sights that it is impossible to get around during your vacation.
The most important thing here is the sea and the amazingly healing air. The purest warm water in summer and the soothing sound of waves at other times of the year. Water procedures have a positive effect on the human nervous system. And the rare plants growing in this area create ideal conditions for people with problems with the respiratory system.
Olga went to Alushta with her son (2.5 years old) in July 2017 for a week.
She describes her impressions of the city, the difficulties that arose on vacation, the peculiarities of choosing housing and its cost, attractions and entertainment.
Reasons for choosing a holiday destination:
- Low cost.
- Plenty of entertainment for children.
- Clear sea and mountains in close proximity.
Alushta has a lot of varied housing that will please even the most demanding vacationers. Despite the fact that the level of rental housing is very different, the prices are quite low. There are a lot of high-rise buildings in the city, in which both comfortable rooms and complete apartments are rented. On the territory of Alushta there are many modern hotels that can offer rooms for every taste and budget. Also within the city there are many private and public boarding houses, which have a developed infrastructure.
Modern hotels
Alushta is a small city with more than a dozen modern hotels. The main advantages of hotels are the ability to rent a room in advance, as well as the availability of entertainment for children on their premises. There are quite budget options on the hotel premises that will allow tourists to relax in comfort at a reasonable cost.
Boarding houses and sanatoriums
Boarding houses in Alushta have a well-developed infrastructure and always welcome visitors. Most sanatoriums have a treatment program that can alleviate the condition of many diseases. Some boarding houses maintain a rather dull atmosphere and poor quality of food, which is important to consider when purchasing an all-inclusive package.
Guest houses, apartments, private sector
There are a lot of offers from private homeowners in Alushta. Since there are a lot of offers, even during peak season you can find housing within 600-800 rubles per person. Some guest houses are in no way inferior to large hotels, but rent is 1.5 times cheaper. Guest houses and courtyards of high-rise buildings often have comfortable and safe playgrounds.
We rented housing in the private sector away from the center. For us, the main criterion was peace and quiet. The cost of renting houses that are located at some distance is quite low and a room for two during the peak season can cost only 1,200 rubles. Despite the fact that we rented accommodation not exactly in the center, we could get to the nearest beach in just 15 minutes.
Food
It’s not always convenient to cook with a small child, so a good solution would be to visit cafes or canteens with a children’s menu. We liked it dining room "Tasty", which is located almost on the embankment. In addition to the children's menu, in the dining room there is a children's area with various entertainment, so parents can eat in peace without catching their child all over the hall.
- Macaroni and cheese - 40 rubles. The cheese was quite tasty and the child devoured the cones on both cheeks.
- Risotto with vegetables - 65 rubles.
- Chicken broth with noodles - 45 rubles.
- Okroshka - 80 rubles. At the distribution they offer different versions of okroshka, but we took the whey version.
- Chicken chop - 120 rubles.
- Pork in French - 140 rubles. The meat is very tender, not dry.
- Summer salad - 75 rubles. The composition includes cucumber, radish and greens. We didn't like the choice of salads, so we tried not to take them.
- Pancakes - 15 rubles. Sometimes in the morning we had time to grab a couple of pancakes. They are very tasty, soft and perfect for breakfast for both children and adults.
We also sometimes cooked ourselves. We did not have any difficulties purchasing any products. We mostly shopped at the central market, but also occasionally visited the PUD supermarket.
Cost of main products:
- Milk - 55-60 rub./liter.
- Bread 15-20 rubles.
- Potatoes, cabbage, beets - 30 rubles/kg.
- Carrots, onions - 25 rub./kg.
- Butter 65-120 rub./pack.
- Chicken 100-250 rub./kg.
- Buckwheat - 70 rub./kg.
Beach
Alushta has a long coastline and many beaches on it. Although all the beaches are located within the same city, they have different contents. Some beaches are covered with large pebbles, others with small ones. Alushta also has beaches with a lot of sand.
We didn’t like it on such beaches, since the water in the sea was constantly cloudy and we had to shake out small pebbles and grains of sand from our swimsuit.
Most people relax on the central beach and It’s impossible to get a seat there after 10 a.m..
The central beach has all the necessary infrastructure for a comfortable stay. The beach is predominantly pebble, but in some places there are sandy areas. We really enjoyed the children's beach. It is located east of the central beach, but there are much fewer people there and the water is cleaner. It is convenient to build various castles and figures from large pebbles.
Leisure
There are many places in Alushta that are worth going with children. There are two dolphinariums in the city. We visited the Aquarelle Dolphinarium. When choosing seats, it is important to consider which side the sun is on and not sit facing it. You should also refrain from buying tickets in the first rows if you don’t want to swim.
My son really liked the “jumping fish”. The trainers showed the highest class and the child calmly watched the entire performance to the end.
Finding a children's playground in Alushta is not a big problem, but it was more interesting for us to walk along the embankment, where there are many different attractions and a train constantly running.
In the evening, on the embankment you can meet musicians, clowns, animators and various magicians.
Also on the embankment you can meet employees of various companies who sell tickets for various excursions.
If you want to just take a walk through the Crimean nature, then you should look into Dendrozoo. There are a lot of squirrels there, which are practically not afraid of people and allow themselves to be fed.
We visited miniature park, but the cost of the entrance ticket (500 rubles) really upset us. The park displays copies of the most famous Crimean buildings, including:
- Swallow's Nest.
- Synagogue of Yeghia-Kapai.
- Genoese fortress.
- Massandra Palace and much more.
Another interesting place in Alushta is Aquarium. There are a lot of fish represented in it. For adults, a walk through the underwater world will bring a lot of pleasure, but for small children it will be difficult to explore all the halls at once.
It will be interesting to visit for adults and children over 6 years old water park, which is located in the Almond Grove complex. The water park has only 4 adult slides, a pool with children's slides and a wave pool. For those who are going to the water park for the first time or do not want to go to Yalta, the Alushta Water Park will be an excellent solution.
- In Alushta there are no problems with buying baby food and diapers.
- Pharmacies have the necessary products for both poisoning and colds.
- Since there are a lot of entertainment facilities for children in Alushta, and many parents still want to visit other places in Crimea, it is worth deciding on the route in advance. Not far from Alushta there are many interesting places, you can read in advance what to see there and make a route - and Swallow's Nest, .
- If you really want to swim on the central beach, then it is better to come to it at 8.00-8.30 in the morning.
Alushta is created for holidays with small children and will give them a lot of positive impressions.
Among the resort towns of Crimea, Alushta occupies one of the leading places in popularity among tourists. The mild climate, warm Black Sea and the beauty of the Crimean mountains create a wonderful atmosphere for relaxation and recovery. The air temperature here in summer does not fall below +22°C, and in winter below +2°C. Snow falls very rarely, but it melts immediately. The rich history of the city and picturesque surroundings attract not only Russians, but also tourists from other countries.
There is still one minus in Alushta - strong winds, but in the summer, when the thermometer reaches +35°C and there is not a cloud in the sky, this minus turns into a huge plus. There is nothing better on days like this than to feel the cool breeze from the sea. In a word, this city is simply created for relaxation.
Although this is not even a city by European standards, but a town. Small and very cozy with a population of just over 29 thousand people. Don’t expect to go unnoticed here; local residents know each other practically by sight and tourists can be “identified” right away. But this will not hinder you in any way, do not be afraid, no one will deceive you, no one will try to deceive you or fool you. Alushta residents (REMEMBER! Not Alushta residents, not Alushta residents, but Alushta residents) are very friendly, open and always happy to help guests of the city. If you have stocked up on maps and modern gadgets with GPS navigation functions, then rest assured that you will not need them. In Alushta you will never get lost, and if you do get lost, it’s better to ask passers-by how and where to go. Local residents will not only explain the route in detail, but will also guide you to your destination, and along the way they will also tell you about the history of Alushta and interesting facts from the life of the city. And there really is something to talk about, but more on that a little later.

How to get there
Do you want to know how to get to a city called Alushta? It’s not difficult to choose what to get around in Alushta, since the choice here is very, very small. Although this is not true, planes and trains do not fly here, but trolleybuses do travel here. Yes, exactly trolleybuses! But first of all you need to get to the capital of Crimea - Simferopol. And there are trains, planes, and you can get there by car. Choose what you like best.
By plane
The airport closest to Alushta is in Simferopol.
About 46 flights fly daily from Moscow to the capital of Crimea, the flight takes 2.5 hours.
From St. Petersburg to - about 7 flights or more, but the flight is 40 minutes longer than from Moscow.
Unfortunately, it’s difficult to say anything about ticket prices; it all depends on the season, airline, class and other factors. The cost of a flight can vary from 5.5 thousand rubles. and ad infinitum. You can monitor prices for air tickets, for example.
At the moment, in order to attract Russian tourists to Crimea, flights from many provincial cities have been resumed.
By train
Before the Crimean Peninsula joined Russia, the train was the most convenient mode of transport for traveling to Crimea, since there was no need to make any transfers, the route passed through Ukraine, which significantly reduced travel time. Due to tense relations between Russia and Ukraine, this train was cancelled. Now you can take a train to the port of Kavkaz and a ferry to the Crimean Peninsula. From the city you will get to Simferopol via the Crimean railway. Transport companies offer tourists to purchase a single ticket for train No. 62/562 State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Crimean Railway" -. Travel time will take 1 day 20 hours.
Let's hope that friendly relations will soon be restored between Russia and Ukraine and the Moscow-Simferopol train will be launched again, then the travel time will take only 20 hours and tourists will not have to make transfers.
By trolleybus
From Simferopol, trolleybus No. 51 runs daily, every 12 minutes, and trolleybus No. 55 runs every 15 minutes. You won't have to wait long. The second route is the longest trolleybus route in the world, it runs from Simferopol to Yalta, its length is 79 km. The 55th trolleybus does not always call at the center of Alushta, so check with the driver before leaving. You can buy tickets at the ticket office at the bus station for only 55 rubles.
If you got to Simferopol by train, then consider yourself lucky - the train station and bus station are located on the same square, you don’t need to go anywhere else. But if you arrive by plane, the trip from the airport to the bus station will not take much time. As for time, the trip from the capital of Crimea to Alushta by trolleybus will be only 1 hour 50 minutes plus/minus 10 minutes.
By car
Three federal highways pass through Alushta:
P29 - from the Feodosia side, it is convenient for tourists moving from central Russia, there is no need to enter and make a detour, and now you can cross the Kerch Strait by ferry. A bridge will be built soon, and this route will become even more convenient for tourists.
E105 - from Simferopol.
P34 - from the Yalta side.
By ferry
In Alushta, the sea terminal is located at st. Lenin 6.
The city can only be reached by sea from Yalta by regular boat.

The traditional holiday season in Crimea is considered to be the period from May to October. Alushta was no exception. The season here begins in July (the hottest month) and ends in September. At this time, the sea warms up to +25°C, and the air temperature reaches +35°C. In July, the season for strawberries and cherries begins; in August, peaches ripen; they are brought to Alushta from Bakhchisarai. You can see what tours are offered by our travel agencies.
Alushta in summer
It is better to come at this time of year if you like heat and noisy companies. In the summer in Alushta, as they say, there is nowhere for the apple to fall. To get a place on the beach you need to arrive before eight o’clock in the morning, otherwise you won’t find a place to lie down and sunbathe.
At this time of year, the city practically does not sleep; cafes and restaurants are open all night on the embankment, where local singers perform and visitors dance. You can just walk along the embankment, enjoy live music and the beauty of the sea.
Alushta in autumn
In September, the velvet season begins, the heat subsides, and the sea remains just as warm. But in October the water temperature drops to +20°C. Perhaps Siberians, accustomed to the fact that the water in their rivers does not warm up above +21°C even in July, can swim in such water, but residents of warmer regions will already feel uncomfortable. Coming out of the sea, you will feel not the warm sun, but a cool breeze. You will immediately feel the desire to wrap yourself in a towel and drink tea as quickly as possible. Usually, in October-November, only vacationers who undergo treatment courses in health resorts and sanatoriums stay in Alushta.
Alushta in the spring
At the end of spring, the city wakes up, and already in May about 4 thousand vacationers arrive. The weather is warm, even hot, but local residents do not recommend swimming in the sea in May, since the water has not yet warmed up enough.
Alushta in winter
At this time of year, the city falls asleep, the last tourists leave, and most cafes and restaurants stop working. Alushta resembles a city from some science fiction film about the apocalypse - there are practically no people on the streets. But it’s worth coming here in winter to see real storms, which happen quite often at this time of year. This spectacle fascinates with its beauty and the frightening power of the elements...

Districts. Where is the best place to live?
Speaking about Alushta, it is difficult to single out any one area that would be the most convenient for living, since the city is very small and stretches along the sea. Its length along the embankment is only 7 km, and the widest part of Alushta does not exceed 3 km, so from anywhere in the city you can leisurely walk to the sea in less than 20 minutes.
Upon arrival in the city at the bus station, you will be met by about 10-15 grandmothers with signs “room for rent” and even more realtors, with whom Alushta is simply teeming. The areas here are very different from each other, so don’t settle for the first living space you come across, it’s better to check your luggage in a storage room and walk around the city a little, look around. Contact the accommodation agency and look at several options.
The most convenient area for vacationers is the city center. Everything is nearby, including supermarkets, the embankment, and beaches, and the prices here are reasonable. The city center is considered to be:
- st. 50 years of October (it is located below the center, closer to the sea)
- Pionerskaya and Tavricheskaya streets (above the center, behind the city administration building)
- Snezhkova Street (near the center, but you have to climb a little uphill)
- private sector on Putsatova street
BUT! Don't count on a picturesque view from the window; many of the buildings here have not been renovated since Soviet times.
Also considered a good area is “Pricentralny” - Cheryomushki Ring, Lenin Street (middle) and Krasnoarmeyskaya (beginning), Spartak sports base.
Is it worth choosing an embankment area to live in? More likely no than yes. Prices here are much higher, and living is not very comfortable - this part of the city “does not sleep” all night. Although if you want to see turquoise waves from the window of your room every morning, then this area is for you.
You can search for a hotel on booking - and you can check if there is a better price somewhere.
The city was almost completely rebuilt in Soviet times, so there are no colorful areas that are interesting to tourists from an architectural point of view. Street names remain from Soviet times, as in all cities of the former USSR republics.
What are the prices for holidays?
Alushta is considered a middle-class resort, and prices here are relatively low. A good one-room apartment can be rented for 1,500 rubles/day in the summer. It is designed for two people, but if you are with a small child, then they will accommodate you without any problems for the money and provide a sleeping place for the baby. Since the supply of housing in Alushta always exceeds demand, reasonable bargaining is appropriate. But remember - this is not an Arab country, they won’t knock off three prices for you, but it’s quite possible to knock off ten to fifteen percent. You can view options for private apartments and rooms in advance
Prices for food and essential goods are not much different from average prices throughout Russia, but in Simferopol, dairy products and some fruits can be bought 20-40% cheaper. There are several Lenta or Auchan supermarkets in the city:
- Supermarket "PUD" - st. Baglikova
- "Buffet" - Partizanskaya street 5
- "Buffet" - Simferopolskaya 20
It is better to buy fruits, meat and spices in the markets that Alushta is rich in. The prices here are very, very reasonable. The central market, the largest and most diverse, is located at Lenin 37. Small markets are scattered throughout the city where you can buy food, souvenirs and homemade wine.
The Alushta Valley was developed by people tens of thousands of years ago. Over the course of its centuries-old history, these places passed into possession several times from one state to another. Each of them left its mark on the appearance of a modern resort called Alushta. There are a lot of attractions here, just like the ruins of the Byzantine fortress Aluston, and the 19th century mosque, and the temple built in the name of All Crimean Saints and Theodore Stratilates.
Top 4
- 1. Rotunda
Undoubtedly, the symbol of Alushta is the white-columned Rotunda. It was installed in 1951, when the embankment was being improved after the destruction caused by the German occupation. Since in post-war Alushta there were not enough materials even to restore houses, the foundation for the world-famous rotunda was a fascist anti-landing pillbox. Initially, the inscription on the facade read “Citizens of the USSR have the right to rest”, later it was replaced with the words “Alushta-resort”. But local residents believe that the first option would be relevant now, only the USSR needs to be replaced by Russia.
You definitely need to take a photo here!!!
- 2. Aluston Fortress
Aluston can be considered a symbol of Alushta along with the rotunda. By order of the Byzantine emperor Justinian I, the Aluston fortress was built in the 6th century on the territory of the modern city. It was located 200 meters from the sea, on a 44-meter hill. Despite the small size of the fortress (0.25 hectares in Byzantine times), the width of some walls reached three meters, so Aluston is considered one of the most powerfully fortified Byzantine structures in the Northern Black Sea region. Unfortunately, only the lower tower of the fortress, which is located in the city center at 15 April Street, 17a, has survived to this day in good condition. The easiest way to find the ancient building is to move down to the embankment along Lenin or Gorky Street.
If you have never heard of the Aluston fortress, you are unlikely to understand that these ruins have any historical significance, because the tower is surrounded by modern buildings, and there are no guards or fences nearby, only a small sign on the facade with the inscription “Architectural Monument " can tell you that this is a local landmark.
- 3. Caucasian Captive
Crimea has always attracted creative people. The picturesque nature and cozy atmosphere of small resort towns were a source of inspiration not only for artists and writers of the Silver Age, but also for directors and screenwriters of Soviet times. Such films as “Three plus two”, “Sport Lotto” and many others were shot in Alushta, but the most popular of them is “Prisoner of the Caucasus”. You can take a tour of the city and try to find the places where the film was filmed on your own. Here are some of them:
Only you are unlikely to be able to find the steps along which Shurik descended on a donkey without the help of a local resident. The staircase is located in one of the private courtyards behind the shooting range at the beginning of the embankment. The family that lives here sells homemade wine - it's worth a taste. At your request, the hostess will be happy to show you the stairs.
Don’t look for footage from the film “The Diamond Arm” in Alushta; it was filmed in , just as the films “Sannikov’s Land”, “Aibolit-66”, “Petrov and Vasechkin’s Vacation, Ordinary and Incredible” were not shot in Crimea.
- 4. Park "Crimea in miniature"
In 2012, the “Crimea in Miniature” park was opened in Alushta on the site of a former wasteland. For 2 years, 120 people - engineers, photographers, architects and artists - worked to create almost 50 copies of architectural landmarks of Crimea. Each of them is an exact prototype of a tourist site, reduced by 25 times. Within 80 minutes you can go around the “entire” Crimea, see the Swallow’s Nest, the Sudak Fortress, the Livadia, Massandra, Vorontsov palaces and much more. The park is especially beautiful at night when the illuminations are turned on.
Even if this is not your first time in Crimea and you have traveled the length and breadth of the peninsula, it is still worth visiting the “miniature Crimea” to get a better look at each of the attractions and discover a couple of new tourist sites.
Beaches. Which ones are better
All Alushta beaches are divided into three groups.
- Central beaches
There are both sandy and pebble beaches. The infrastructure is very developed, there are many cafes, attractions, stalls with snacks and soft drinks. But there are always a lot of people here, which is why the water is muddy during the season.
- Western Embankment (Professor's Corner)
You can only get here from the center by public transport, so there are always fewer people here. The beaches are mostly sandy, but the water is crystal clear, as the sand is shale and heavy enough not to create turbidity in the water. Entrance is free, but you will have to pay a little to rent a sun lounger.
- Eastern embankment
In this area there are beaches of hotels and private boathouses in the city of Alushta. The beaches here give everyone the opportunity to soak up the sand, but for a fee. Far from the main group there is the only nudist beach in Alushta.
Churches and temples. Which ones are worth visiting?
There are two religiously and historically significant sites in Alushta.
- Yukara Jami Mosque -st. Top 9
This mosque was built in the mid-19th century in the style of Muslim religious buildings, the walls were covered with paintings, and the windows were decorated with stained glass. During the Soviet years, the mosque building was used by various services, so practically nothing remained of its former greatness. In 1996, the mosque was completely restored and a new minaret was added.
- Temple in the name of all Crimean saints and Theodore Stratilates - st. Khromykh, 14
This is an Orthodox church in the center of Alushta with a tiered bell tower. It was built in 1837 on the instructions of Count M. S. Vorontsov and according to the design of the architect G. Toricelli.
Museums. Which ones are worth visiting?
- Alushta Museum of History and Local Lore- st. Lenina, 8
Day off - Tuesday
- Literary Museum of the writer I. S. Shmelev- st. Embankment, 2
- House-Museum of Academician of Architecture A. N. Beketov- st. Komsomolskaya, 4.
Villa “Marina” (sanitary building “Sea Corner”) was built according to Beketov’s design.
Days off - Sunday, Monday
- Museum of Nature and Dendrozoo of the Crimean Nature Reserve- st. Partizanskaya, 42
The museum is open seven days a week. Unique dioramas of the reserve, animals and birds inhabiting it are presented here. A dendrozoo with an area of 6 hectares was opened next to the museum in 1981, where the flora and fauna of the Crimean forest are presented. This museum will be most interesting for children.
Parks
- Park "Crimea in miniature" -st. Gorky, 7
This park is worth a visit, if only because during your vacation it is unlikely that you will be able to travel around the entire Crimean peninsula, but you want to see everything. “Crimea in Miniature” provides you with such an opportunity. What to see in 1 day
Alushta is a small town, so all its attractions can be visited in one day. But if you are passing through the city and have only a few hours, then this will be enough for you to explore all the interesting things that Alushta offers. Let's start in order:

What to see in the area
Alushta is the most convenient city for a holiday if you want to see as many sights as possible on the Crimean peninsula. From here it is easy to get to any city in Crimea and it will not take more than 2 hours, and in a day you can see up to 5 attractions on the excursion route.
Places near Alushta are no less interesting than the city itself. If you find yourself at the resort, be sure to visit:
- Palace of Princess Gagarina

- Marble Cave
The cave is located in the mountains, so public transport does not go here. It is best to buy a tour and visit this miracle of nature with a guide.

The garden is located in the Nikita village. You can get there by your own car, by taxi or by trolleybus No. 53. (30 km from Alushta).

The one-way journey will take about two hours (bus + walking).

Food. What to try
- While in Crimea, you should definitely try the wines of local producers. Buy a bottle of white nutmeg "Red Stone". A special grape variety for this heady drink grows only in Crimea, and only the Massandra plant produces this wine.
- In Crimea, you can often see grandmothers at bazaars selling something similar to a plum, only yellow. This is cherry plum. Locals do not consider it an edible berry and, at most, can make compote from it. Cherry plum is very sour and not everyone likes it, but it is very rich in vitamins and costs a penny. Try it at least for fun.
In Alushta, the “Ukrainian style” dining room at 11 Lenin Street is especially popular. Not only city guests, but also local residents like to dine here. The menu includes such colorful dishes as dumplings with cherries, dumplings and milk porridge in pots. The dining room is decorated in traditional Ukrainian style. Prices are quite reasonable for middle class vacationers.

Holidays
At the end of spring, the holiday season begins here. It opens with the Dawns of Alushta arts festival, which takes place simultaneously with City Day on May 31. You can watch it for variety, but almost all cities in Russia host similar holidays and amateur festivals.
A completely new festival is held in June, but it is already appreciated by the majority of male tourists - the beer festival!
The velvet season is the richest during the holidays. In September, Alushta Fest, a children's choreographic festival, is held in Alushta. The International Honey Festival “Crimean Meetings” takes place for 5 days; you can not only taste the healthy delicacy, but also buy a couple of jars for home or as a gift. At the end of the month, the traditional wine festival “Grape Seasons” is held with competitions and tasting tours of wineries.
Safety. What to watch out for
The city is very calm, there are no hooligans or marginal youth on the streets. You can calmly walk until the morning. But girls still shouldn’t walk alone at night, no one will touch you, but they will look at you sideways.
The only thing you need to be afraid of is the elements. In winter, there are often storms in Alushta. The spectacle is certainly fascinating, but very dangerous. Often all the pebbles from the beaches wash up onto the embankment. You should not take pictures against the backdrop of the waves, even if it seems to you that you are at a safe distance from the sea. During a storm, even an adult man standing on the embankment, not to mention a small child, can be overwhelmed and carried out to sea by a wave. (There were cases, the children were never found).
Don't put yourself at risk, a couple of beautiful photos for social networks are not worth your life!
Things to do
The beaches offer many water attractions: tablets, bananas, jet skis, jet skis, etc. The safest of them is the double banana - it is hooked to a motor boat and takes you out to the open sea. There you can swim in the crystal clear water, admire the panoramic view of the city and return back with the breeze. (Life jackets are provided upon boarding.)
There are several equestrian clubs in the vicinity of Alushta. Each of them offers both multi-day horseback riding and hourly ones, and on the territory of the Demerdzhi club you can also go fishing.
- Near the village of Izobilnoye (the foot of Chatyr-Dag) - “Pegasus”
- Bike post “Leather Guest” - turn to p. Abundant
- At the Paragilmen rock - “Paragilmen”
- Near the village of Radiant (Mount Demerdzhi) - “Demerdzhi”
- "Golden Horseshoe"
- "Gait"
Shopping and shops
Alushta is a city of health resorts and relaxing holidays. There are no large stores with branded clothing and huge “Turkish” bazaars. In the city center there is the Foxtrot department store, where you can buy everything you need, but you won’t be able to find an evening dress from the new collection of Valentin Yudashkin or real Louboutins in Alushta.
Clubs and nightlife
As in any resort city, Alushta has a very developed nightlife. Almost all cafes and restaurants on the embankment are open until the last visitor, and each of them has a dance floor. There are 6 popular nightclubs in the city.
- Night club "Kiwi-kiwi" - st. Gorky, 96, tel. 2-30-31.
The main feature is the presence of the largest TV screen in Alushta. There is a dress code and face control
- Night club "Cave"- st. Gorky, opposite the Kiwi-Kiwi club.
Opening hours: 24 hours a day. Summer: daily. Off-season: weekends and holidays.
- Nightclub Sound Club- st. Embankment.
The most popular entertainment venue in Alushta. Children's animators work from 12:00; in the evening there is a costume show and MiniDisco for children. Great night program. Entrance from 22:00 is paid.
- Club complex Archive- st. Embankment, 6a
- Club "Morpheus" - st. Embankment.
The club specializes in foam parties.
- Disco club El Faro- st. Embankment.
It is easy to find, just look after sunset where a bright beam of light is coming from. It is clearly visible from anywhere in the city and even beyond.

Souvenirs. What to bring as a gift
Usually tourists take home magnets, keychains, pens, mugs with the symbols of Crimea and Alushta, but everyone has long been tired of these souvenirs and are lying around idle. Bring a useful gift - tea. Crimea is a variety of herbs, buy medicinal tea for your family. In Alushta, in small souvenir markets you can find remedies for any ailment. For small children, you can bring pillows filled with lavender for a good sleep.
If you want to bring home shells, give preference to nondescript rapana - they are found near Alushta and the sound of the Black Sea can be clearly heard in them. All the other beautiful shells that you will see on the shelves were brought from Thailand and Vietnam.
Things to do
How to get around the city
It is more convenient to move around the city on foot. It's both cheaper and more interesting. You can leisurely walk the entire embankment from start to finish in 1.5–2 hours.
But the city has several bus and trolleybus routes. The cost of travel around the city is only 10 rubles! For intercity flights, tickets will need to be purchased at the bus station.
Taxi. What features exist
A taxi in Alushta is not a cheap pleasure.
- From the airport in Simferopol, a VAZ will be delivered to Alushta for 1,600 rubles. (On a trolleybus - 55 rubles per person, but you will have to carry your suitcases yourself).
- A trip around the city both day and night will cost you 140 rubles. up to 5 km, and each subsequent km +23 rubles. Payment in cash is encouraged, since the credit card payment system has not yet been fully established.
- You can catch a ride on the street, but it is better to pre-book a car by phone.
- You will have to pay separately for a child seat - 200 rubles.
Trolleybuses
The most convenient type of Alushta transport for moving around the city is a trolleybus.

Transport rental
Renting a car only makes sense if you are going to travel outside the city and you have extensive experience driving in mountainous areas, which is Alushta. Transport in the form of a personal car is a very controversial pleasure here: drivers without experience will find it very difficult to drive on unfamiliar roads with a huge number of serpentines, steep ascents and descents.
- The approximate rental cost is 2500 rubles/day, all prices can be seen
- Traveling outside of Crimea is PROHIBITED
- The car is rented with a deposit of 15,000 to 50,000 rubles, depending on the class of the car
- Minimum rental time is 48 hours.
Gasoline in Crimea is more expensive than in Russia as a whole, and public transport is cheaper, so before you rent a car, think about whether it’s worth it.
Local drivers are very polite and friendly towards city guests, so no one will cut you off or “teach” you. Well, the roads here are the same as throughout Russia, that is, there are practically none. Only intercity highways and the main streets of the city are in good condition. The rest are broken.
The advice is simple: be careful, obey traffic rules and speed limits, and allow pedestrians to pass.
In the suburbs
The terrain in Crimea is mountainous, so the roads are dangerous. Along the way there are serpentines, cliffs, sheer rocks, steep ascents and descents, and even snow falls on the Angarsk Pass. Therefore, traffic police inspectors advise driving up and down hills in low gear, so that in case of brake failure you can stop the car faster.

Alushta - holidays with children
Alushta is the best city in Crimea for families with children. Small beaches, a huge number of attractions, water parks, dolphinariums and aquariums will appeal not only to children, but also to parents.
Definitely worth a visit:
- Waterpark "Almond Grove"- opening hours from 10.00 to 17.00. Aquariums – st. Gorky, 4,
- Dinosaur Exhibition 1 st. Embankment (near Central Beach), 10 life-size dinosaur figures and all moving.
- Dolphinarium "Nemo"- Revkomovsky Lane.
- Dolphinarium "Watercolor"-st. Gorky.
- Park "Crimea in Miniature"- here are figurines of your favorite children's cartoons, you can take pictures with them .
You should not waste money and time on a butterfly exhibition; such exhibitions periodically come to every city. Also, children are unlikely to be interested in the exhibition of wax figures, which are brought to Alushta every year from St. Petersburg.
