The main attraction of Salzburg is considered to be the Hohensalzburg Fortress. Built more than nine centuries ago, during the era of the ongoing struggle for power between the king and the pope, this fortress complex is the largest of its kind in Europe. Over the many centuries of existence of this huge fortification, Hohensalzburg performed not only a defensive function. In these walls, noble nobles took refuge from the people's anger during the peasant uprisings in the 15th-16th centuries; for some prince-archbishops, the fortress served as a residence, and at the beginning of the 17th century, the fortress became a place of imprisonment for noble persons.
Nowadays, everyone can visit the fortress to admire the picturesque ornaments of the Golden Hall and the Golden Chamber, as well as luxurious carvings made in the Gothic style. The splendor of the fortress premises attracts artists from all over the world to Hohensalzburg, for whom courses from the International Summer Academy are held from time to time on the territory of the fortress.

In the spacious premises of the new house, meetings with great musicians of that time often took place. It was in this building that Mozart created his famous musical masterpieces and works for church music.
Salzburg is a purely European city. Therefore, caring for nature is a characteristic feature of any European. Proof of this is the Salzburg Zoo. Each of the animal communities here is allocated a certain territory, reflecting the natural landscape of the natural environment in which certain representatives of the world fauna live.

Created as the summer residence of Archbishop Marcus Sittikus, Hellbrunn Palace soon became a true architectural gem created in the Renaissance style. In addition to the fountains, visitors are fascinated by the mysterious grottoes, full of mysticism and mysteries.
From the moment the residence was founded, fountains, grottoes, and luxurious palace halls began to attract noble audiences to Hellbrunn for entertainment and various types of festive events. This tradition of holding magnificent celebrations and unforgettable theatrical performances in the “Stone Theater”, created on the site of a former stone quarry, continues to this day. Cultural events, seminars and conferences held as part of international events are regularly held in the palace park and in the Palace.

If you're looking for a handy map of Salzburg, then the three maps we used might suit you. We were given our first card at the Turnerwirt Hotel, where we stayed for a couple of days in Salzburg. Here she is
How is it convenient?

The only disadvantage of this map is that the public transport routes reflected on it are no longer relevant; some routes have already changed. If this information is important to you, then use the second map below.
This map of Salzburg is also with attractions - the top 10 main attractions of Salzburg on the map are marked with numbers from one to ten. It also shows current public transport routes. The routes themselves and their numbers are marked on the map in red. You need to be especially careful with routes going along the Salzach River, since the same route can go along both banks of the river, but in different directions. It's best to check with locals to see if you're heading in the right direction. We once sat on the wrong side and drove off into the residential areas of Salzburg.
