Museums of sex - travel to museums of sex. Museum of Sex in Amsterdam Secret office at the National Museum of Archeology in Naples
As you should already know, there are a large number of museums in the Dutch capital, 51 to be specific, with themes to suit every taste. In addition to art galleries where you can experience high art, there are, to put it mildly, quite unusual ones, such as the Museum of Sex in Amsterdam. This is the last one we’ll take a look at... 😉
To be honest, I had doubts for a long time about whether it was worth writing about this museum, but in the end I decided that it was still worth paying attention to, albeit with a little censorship. Moreover, the public clearly has an interest in the museum, since more than half a million people visit it annually. Well, are you ready for debauchery? I hope you are already 18...
Sex through the centuries or how it all began...
Compared to its European counterparts, this museum is the oldest, opening in 1985. As far as I remember, at that time there was no trace of sex in the USSR, and children were traditionally brought or, in the old fashioned way, found in cabbage. So, in , a small exhibition of exhibits of the 19th century of a certain kind opened.
Contrary to the fears of the founders, both the local and visiting public accepted the idea with a bang and soon it was decided to expand the collection. Now the museum occupies three floors of an ancient mansion, on the busiest street in the city - Damrak,
and the exhibition is divided into several thematic halls named after the “heroes” of the corresponding era - Casanova, Marquis De Sade, Mata Hari, Catherine the Great, Madame Pompadour...
At the entrance, visitors are greeted by an elegant figurine of the goddess Venus, whose name the establishment officially bears - “The Temple of Venus”.
As a matter of fact, this is where all the decent exhibits end... 😉 What's next, you ask? Further, we find ourselves from ancient Roman mythology into the terrible prose of modern life: mannequins in sadomasochistic costumes,
an Amsterdam street urinal, clearly used for purposes other than its intended purpose...
a decent-looking pensioner-exhibitionist, in a raincoat and hat, lurking in the “gateway”,
In the gallery named after “Mata Hari”, the barely covered figure of the famous dancer, courtesan and spy, born Margaretha Zelle (by origin, by the way), is surrounded by military men, for whom she had a wild passion.
An expressive sculpture “Tango”, capturing in a sultry dance the silent film star Rudolph Valentino, who gained fame as a hero-lover and was accused of bigamy.
The charming sex symbol of the 50s, Marilyn Monroe, in her famous coquette pose, with her dress blowing in the wind. We will meet her again, but in a more piquant role.
Miniature porcelain compositions tell about the joys of hussars in difficult marching conditions.
Or this is the great-great-great-grandfather of 3D films. Such devices stood in the dark corners of Dutch pubs, where for a couple of guilders you could keep yourself busy looking at exciting photographs in 2D format :)
In the Museum of Sex, many idle things instantly acquire a double meaning: it would seem that the most ordinary cane, but here it is involuntarily perceived as a phallic symbol.
In the hall named after Oscar Wilde, there is a place to rest, between two huge chocolate phallus hares, photographs of which will probably be found in the collection of every visitor to the museum.
One of the halls, named after the Marquise de Pompadour, is dedicated to the eastern porn industry and the culture of sex.
A traditional gift for newlyweds in ancient China was a book with detailed instructions for use and guidelines for action.
From the life of inches... A series of erotic figures in vegetables and fruits, which were incredibly popular in the 30s of the last century in China, simply touched me.
Is it possible to seriously look at a series of hand-drawn pictures?

The museum piece looks more like a memorial to the victims of the modeling business.
Along the stairs there are “dismembered bodies” walled up in the wall.
We continue the joint project of the website and Kuponator.ru. The Couponator's unified database combines the best offers of goods and services from the most famous coupon sites (Biglion, Groupon, Benefit, etc.). More than 300 daily offers from more than 100 CIS cities.
If anyone has the idea that coupon sites only offer services and restaurants, then they are slightly mistaken. For example, we purchased a coupon on Couponator and managed to get into the museum. True, it was a museum of erotic art.

About the coupon itself: A coupon for 300 rubles entitles you to two entrance tickets to the Point G museum. The usual cost of one ticket is 500 rubles. In other words, the savings for 2 persons amounted to 700 rubles.
1. The location of the museum was chosen quite well - right in the middle of New Arbat. Agree that the specifics of the museum are such that most people end up there by accident, for fun, while spending their leisure time. Well, where else can you find such a number of idlers - of course, on the Arbat.
2. Photography is allowed.
3. In fact, the museum of erotic art is not a museum in the full sense of the word - you won’t find several halls and grandmother caretakers in the corners.
4. The entire exhibition occupies one hall, adjacent to it is a small cinema hall, in which erotic videos are shown non-stop, a cafe and a toy store for adults. There is a feeling that everything was started for the sake of the store.
5. Despite the fact that we were there in the middle of a weekday, there were visitors to the museum. Mostly girls-girlfriends or hugging couples. Throughout the entire exhibition, here and there there were giggles and muffled exclamations of “look at that!!!”
6. The most expensive in the world, originally from America.

47. Let's summarize: As long as humanity has existed, the topic of sex has always been relevant. Therefore, if you have an hour of free time and you find yourself close to Arbat, then stopping by and surprising your new girlfriend will not hurt :). Fortunately, the cost of tickets, thanks to the Couponator, is no more expensive than a couple of glasses of beer in nearby establishments.
All these museums have one restriction: only adults are allowed here. Young people and retirees come here in groups and alone, to see obscene and immodest exhibits in the world, illustrating hidden human desires... Here we will tell a story about the most interesting museums of sex and eroticism in the world, which you can visit during your summer vacation.
Erotic sculpture park South Korea
The original park is located on Jeju Island and opened in 2004. Samples of erotic art from different peoples of Europe, Africa and Asia are collected here. The leitmotif of this open-air museum is that sex and eroticism should not create tension, so many exhibits are not only erotic, but also comical. Also in the park you can watch erotic films, buy goods from the global sex industry in a sex shop and try the most incredible dishes generously flavored with aphrodisiacs. Only those over 18 years of age are allowed here with a passport. And even newlyweds are frequent guests here: they pose right in their wedding dresses against the backdrop of the exhibits
