In fact, you don't have to lie under the sun to get it. If you swim for a total of 40-50 minutes during the day, then this will be enough to have bronze skin by the end of your vacation - because the water allows ultraviolet rays to pass through and makes your body tanned. You can get slightly sunburned even if you spend the whole day in the shade! For people with sensitive skin, we recommend using sunscreen.

In the evening, it’s a good idea to go to one of the restaurants and try Thai cuisine. Just ask that you don’t put too many spices, otherwise you won’t be able to eat it. In English it sounds like “No Spicy” (no one here understands Russian, don’t even try to place an order in it or communicate with the waiter or salesperson in the store). After dinner, it’s good to walk along the already deserted beach, listen to the sound of the surf, and then go to the town, buy small souvenirs, look at local street travel agencies and ask the price.

We strongly advise against renting and riding a motorbike on the first day, even if you have driven one before. A long flight, poor sleep on the plane and a new climate can do a disservice. It is better to wait one day until the body acclimatizes a little and returns to normal.

Second day

It is advisable to devote the day to exploring the beaches of Phuket. For these purposes it costs (200 baht per day). This is a very economical transportation option, since a tuk-tuk ride just to the nearest beach costs at least 200 baht. And if you want to see them all, then it’s worth forking out 1500, if not more. And so every day. Those who know how to ride a bicycle will be able to ride a motorbike (it’s even easier here - you don’t have to pedal). Of course, you shouldn’t immediately go onto busy streets; it’s better to practice for 10-15 minutes in alleys where there are no people. It is very simple to operate - your right hand is on the gas handle, and your left hand is on the brake. It’s quite possible to ride with two people (but first try it alone, without a passenger).

You will be told how to turn this two-wheeler on and off when you rent it. If you suddenly forget, here is a simple rule: remove the step, turn the key in the lock (the display lights up), press the brake with your left hand, press the gas with your right hand and turn on the ignition button with your right thumb. When the engine starts to purr, immediately release the throttle and then the brakes. If you do the opposite (release the brake first), the motorbike will jerk forward sharply and a novice driver may not be able to control it.

If you go in the morning, you can see and swim at almost all the beaches located on the west coast. For reference, we especially recommend Patong, Karon, Kata and Nai Han. Kamala and Surin can be completely missed, there is nothing outstanding there - the same coast as on Patong or Kata - sun loungers, parasols and sunbathing tourists. It is better to leave the northwest coast for the next day, since these beaches stand apart and it takes at least an hour to get to them (we will write more about this below).

The entire east coast, including the beaches of Rawai and Chalong, is practically unsuitable for swimming due to rocks or inconvenient entry into the water. There are also few sunbathers on them. It is good to visit them for informational purposes only. In Rawai, it’s nice to have dinner on the waterfront, it’s very beautiful here.

Between Kata and Nai Harn lies one of the most famous islands. It is located on the main road between these two beaches, so it is impossible to miss it.
