Thailand where to relax. Resorts of Thailand: where to go. Beach resorts in Thailand: features and differences
Just recently, Thailand seemed like something very distant and unknown. We could only see all these exotic colors on TV. Now, it is difficult to find a person who has not visited this beautiful land of smiles. And I was no exception. I flew and naturally fell in love with Thailand, but it couldn’t have been otherwise.
I have been to different places, both Pattaya and Phuket. I won’t go into the resorts themselves and will tell you general impressions about the country. Why is it worth coming here, and then definitely coming back again and again?
Map of Thailand showing resort areas.
When you approach Thailand by plane, even from that distance you can see this riot of colors, rich, bright green. I remember Stepanych’s words from the film “Thai Voyage” that everything is gray at home, but here they are the colors of life. It is impossible to disagree with these words. The eye is constantly pleased by such simple things: a green palm tree, a bright yellow mango, white sand.
Pros of holidays in Thailand.
1. You will be provided with a huge number of impressions. Therefore, even a trip on a tuk-tuk (local taxi) will not leave you indifferent, riding on elephants, walking through a real jungle with a river crossing on a bamboo raft, meeting wild monkeys, visiting a transvestite show and much more.
2. A large number of interesting excursions and attractions. By this I mean not simple architectural monuments, but all kinds of temple complexes, nature reserves, visiting paradise islands, watching spectacular... read more

How much does a holiday in Pattaya cost? September 2018.
tour cost
I am a Russian citizen; I did not need a visa to enter Thailand. So there are no costs here. As for the flight, I did not fly on a charter flight, but on a regular Moscow-Bangkok - Moscow flight. I paid $600 for a round trip flight. Then I got to Pattaya by bus. I paid only 7 dollars for the ticket. I lived in a fairly good hotel near the beach. The room was for two, the second neighbor was my friend. The room cost $300, that is, they discounted $150. This is for a weekly stay. Breakfast was not included in the price.
Resorts in Thailand have been among the favorite holiday destinations of Russians for quite a long time. Choosing the best place is not an easy task and each tourist chooses based not only on the purpose of the trip, but also on personal preferences.

Resorts in Thailand have long become one of the most popular holiday destinations among Russian tourists. Even those who have not yet visited this Asian country can easily picture in their imagination a tropical island with white sand, palm groves, clear sea and spa treatments, or the complete opposite - a nightlife filled with hustle and bustle, rich in Thai flavor, spicy food and all types of entertainment.
If we add to these pictures stunning landscapes, which abound in numerous national parks, historical attractions, and these are, first of all, beautiful Buddhist temples, various reserves with rare species of animals or coral reefs and wonderful farms that breed crocodiles, snakes and others in captivity reptiles, it will become clear why here you can find relaxation for every taste. The main thing is to decide for yourself the question: what type of holiday is preferable, and not expect a perfectly clean sea from entertainment-oriented Pattaya, or the bustle of Bangkok from the protected island of Koh Chang.
Andaman coast
Phuket Island
Many people leave Pattaya, being completely disappointed with its sea and beaches, but this is all due to ignorance of small subtleties - half an hour away by ferry, right opposite the famous resort, the islands of Pattaya await guests. The most popular and well-equipped is Koh Lan, there are clean beaches, clear water, and there are small hotels and cafes. In theory, you can stay on the island of Koh Larn for your entire vacation, periodically visiting Pattaya for shopping and entertainment.
Samet Island
Koh Chang Island
Another refuge for lovers of secluded and relaxed relaxation. Koh Chang is located in Trat province, near the border with Cambodia. The second largest island in Thailand is almost entirely covered with jungle and mountains; industrialists and developers are not allowed here; all of Koh Chang and the surrounding islands are a unique national marine park that preserves rare species of animals and plants. A holiday here is ideal for lovers of peace and relaxation amid unique nature. The main attraction is nature, the clear sea and beaches with swings stretched between palm trees.
Travelers who want to learn more about Thailand can do so in several ways: say, buy a guide to the country or scour the Internet. However, neither a book nor reviews can fully introduce what is called the “atmosphere of Thailand.”
Bangkok
The capital of the kingdom and the Asian metropolis in all its splendor. Skyscrapers and grandiose parks, modern shopping centers and ancient temples, palaces of rulers and endless bars - in Bangkok you can find everything your heart desires, except, perhaps, peace and quiet. Treasures of ancient eastern culture are hidden on the island of Rattanakosin. It’s easy to get lost on the territory of the Royal Palace, and in the Wat Pho temple complex you can be speechless from the size of the reclining Buddha. A walk through the Silom area with its countless skyscrapers reaching into the clouds brings you back into the 21st century. Bonuses to the standard program - exotic in street cafes, shopping in Siam Square and fun in nightclubs.
The city is in full swing, even when there are traffic jams, multi-level pedestrian crossings and interchanges on the central streets look like colorful puzzles and drive the maps in smartphones crazy; all you have to do is trust your instincts and go where Bangkok calls you today. Prices in hotels, cafes and restaurants are slightly higher than in other resorts, but there is always an alternative option for budget travel.
Northern capital. Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai is the country's second largest city with its own Northern Thailand culinary school, hundreds of monasteries and temples, surrounded by impressive picturesque mountain ranges. Chiang Mai does not chase the bustle of Bangkok and knows its worth - the city is often called the cultural capital of Thailand; people come here for the unusual nature and filigree crafts of local artisans. Chiang Mai is often used as a transit point for forays into the jungle and trips to the Golden Triangle on the border with Burma and Laos. From Chiang Mai you can take an excursion to the northernmost city of the country - Chiang Rai, one might say, a real reservation, in which tribes of several small nations still live according to ancient ways.
Russians have long studied the resorts of Asian countries and are actively booking vacation tickets to this side of the world. One of the most popular destinations is, of course, recognized. So where is the best vacation in Thailand? There are several popular resorts here where you will probably meet your compatriots: Pattaya, Samui, Phuket, Koh Phangan, as well as the province. There are other resorts here, but Russians rarely vacation there. Let's consider the most popular recreation areas for the Russian-speaking population.
Pattaya
If you are a tourist booking a trip through a travel agency, you will most likely end up in Pattaya or Phuket. To other places, as travelers note, trips through a travel agency are much more expensive and are not represented by a wide variety of options. For the most part, this is due to long journeys across the country or distance from the airport.
– this is a great place for a party beach holiday. There is almost everything that an avid party-goer needs for a good time: bars, restaurants, an excellent level of nightlife (almost all establishments are open from dusk to dawn), as well as numerous “carrots” (girls for sexual pleasures). There are a lot of Russians here, there are even Thais who have a good knowledge of the Russian language.
True, tourists often note the noisiness of this resort, as well as the poorly maintained beaches and coastal waters. You can also notice that the prices of this resort are quite high, especially if you go here without a ticket and look for a place to stay upon arrival at the resort. If you just need a party holiday, but noise and dirt are not for you, then stay in the suburbs of Pattaya.
The main contingent of visitors are single people, not burdened by family life, and also looking for new experiences, including sex. The resort is not suitable for families with small children, as children require quieter places, clean seas and well-groomed comfortable beaches.
Phuket
Koh Samui and Koh Phangan
The resorts are not so popular among Russian-speaking vacationers, but it is still quite possible to meet a compatriot here. These islands are perfect for those who want to enjoy peace and quiet. These two islands are located in the Gulf of Thailand. Due to the fact that getting here is somewhat more problematic (by bus and ferry or even an additional flight within the country), Russians are not as eager to get here as they are to Phuket or Pattaya. Due to the fact that there are significantly fewer vacationers here, the nature on the island has been preserved almost in its original form.
The beaches are very clean and well maintained. The time for active recreation and entertainment on most of the island stops around 22.00, which may be ideal for those who decide to visit Thailand with children.
Russian travelers note the beautiful nature of the tropics on Koh Samui, as well as coconut plantations and a good range of entertainment. On this island you can find both a beach with a large influx of tourists and developed infrastructure, and a secluded small sandy area where you will relax in splendid isolation.
