Danang or Nha Trang which is better? Danang reviews. The best Vietnam is here! From other parts of the country
Already on the second day in Hoi An, we couldn’t resist going to Da Nang. The city of Danang has become the only place in all of Vietnam where nothing pisses us off and we like everything here. On our last trip to Vietnam, when leaving Da Nang, we were sure that we would never end up here again. But fate brought us here again.
Where is the best place in Vietnam? Of course in Da Nang!
We passed the neighborhood where we lived 2 years ago. The hotel still stands and the view from it is still of the sea. Nothing has been built in front of it yet. So, we continue to recommend him!
Underpasses
Have you ever seen an underground passage in Vietnam? There is such a miracle in Da Nang! And the inside is very clean and decent, there are even fountains.
Traffic lights and ground crossings
For the first time in Vietnam we saw a controlled crossing with a traffic light. And where? Not in Ho Chi Minh City and not in Nha Trang. In Da Nang, you even cross the road feeling like a human being.
Where can I order a transfer from the airport?
We use the service - KiwiTaxi
We ordered a taxi online and paid by card. We were met at the airport with a sign with our name on it. We were taken to the hotel in a comfortable car. You've already talked about your experience In this article.
Public transport in Da Nang
City buses in Da Nang are new and clean. The fare costs 5,000 dong ($0.25). There is air conditioning. The conductor asks where you should go. Buses stop at all stops. Unlike, he doesn’t have to wave his arms to be deigned to pick you up. And you don’t have to worry that the bus will pass your stop, as happened to us many times in Nha Trang.
Buses in Da Nang
People
We noticed this feature back in Hoi An. In central Vietnam, the people are more welcoming to us Europeans. After Nha Trang, it’s very unusual that the Vietnamese sometimes smile here. Maybe not all the time, like in Thailand, but in standard situations they are friendly. For example, we buy rice from a makashnitsa and grandma smiles at us.
In Nha Trang, when we bought rice or meat, everyone had a typical brick face with a shadow of eternal discontent. And here in cafes, shops, markets, and at the hotel reception they can smile politely at you.
Open spaces
You can even breathe more freely here. There is no this notorious Vietnamese cramped space, like houses one on top of the other and everything around is crowded. You can imagine that you are in a large metropolis, like . Almost all day we walked on free sidewalks, where there are no motorbikes that smear our eyes (and ears).
Construction sites in Da Nang
Da Nang is being actively developed. But, oddly enough, construction is not constantly heard and they do not occur as often as in Nha Trang. It seems that there are quite a lot of construction sites around the city of varying degrees of readiness. But the vastness of Da Nang allows the construction to go unnoticed.
Da Nang is not all like that
In Da Nang, of course, everything is great, but it’s not like that everywhere. There is a free coastal zone, and there is a center. So, all our joy is caused by the My Khe beach area. And then there is the city center, where Da Nang is no different from an ordinary Vietnamese city. In the center, everything is traditionally filled with bikes, narrow streets teeming with constantly beeping motorcycles. We don’t like this kind of Vietnam, as you well know. Therefore, when we write rave reviews about Da Nang, we mean the beach area.
Map of Da Nang districts
We don't like this kind of Vietnam
But this is the kind of Vietnam we like!
It's great that Vietnam can be different! Da Nang is exactly the case when we feel good in Vietnam. Another of these extraordinary cities we like is.
Well, enough of the lyrics, let's get back to our walk.
Taxi in Da Nang
Taxi prices in Da Nang have not increased in any way due to the Vietnamese New Year. If in Nha Trang and Hoi An we paid 12 thousand dong for landing already at increased New Year rates, then in Da Nang the price has not changed. 5800 VND per landing. As a result, for 70 thousand dong we got from My Khe beach to Big Sea. We love cheap Vietnamese taxis!
Supermarkets in Da Nang
Da Nang has all the major chain supermarkets in Vietnam - Big C, Coop, Lotte and Metro.
We bought groceries in Big C for all 8 days in Hoi An, since in our village everything is difficult with shops. Or rather, we can say that they don’t exist. Only stalls without prices, where arrogant aunties sell not just with markups, but charge triple the price for the goods. And products such as butter, for example, are generally impossible to get. We don’t like haggling for every item, so we went to a normal store.
Conclusion
Having stocked up on provisions, we ate at, because there is none in Hoi An. Then the happy ones barely managed to run to the bus and got back to Hoi An. And I didn’t want to leave...
The week in Hoi An flew by quickly. And when the time came to move, I think you already long ago guessed where we went next
Swap glasses while walking along the embankment in our new place of residence
My glasses suit Slava, don't they?
If any of you, dear readers, have been to Da Nang, write your reviews in the comments. We are very interested in whether our reviews match your impressions. Do you like Danang as much as we do? As always, any feedback is accepted on our blog, both negative and positive.
- Last minute tours Worldwide
Danang - the 5th largest city in Vietnam, a major port - is located on the shores of the Pacific Ocean in the central part of the country. First of all, it is famous throughout the world for its luxurious China Beach: a wide coastal strip of light velvety sand, “correct” waves for active sports and all the necessary infrastructure annually attract thousands of tourists from all over the world. In addition, this is a real paradise for kiters and surfers. Da Nang successfully combines the features of a business metropolis and a quiet place for a beach holiday; authentic markets and ancient temples coexist with high-tech skyscrapers.
Today Danang is a fashionable resort, with all the necessary attributes - well-equipped beaches, five-star hotels, surfing and diving clubs and a huge modern amusement park "Asia".
Vietnam has excellent railway connections, so you can also get to Da Nang by train. Trains to Da Nang depart from Hanoi (from 977,500 VND), Ho Chi Minh City (from 820,000 VND) and Nha Trang (from 520,000 VND). The schedule can be viewed at the office. Vietnam Railways website (in English).

Transport
Public transport in Da Nang is poor: there are several city bus routes (yellow) that take you from different parts of the city to the intercity bus station, but they do not make other stops around the city.
A motorcycle taxi is considered an inexpensive and popular form of transport - approximately 50,000-60,000 VND per trip. A regular taxi is more expensive, but more convenient for those traveling in a large group - you can order a car from the hotel. Payment by meter - on average, a trip around the city costs VND 100,000.
Bike or scooter rental
Renting a bike or scooter in Vietnam is more difficult than, for example, in Thailand - you need to be confident in your ability to drive this vehicle. International licenses are not recognized here; getting local ones is quite a hassle, so you will have to travel without them, which is what most tourists do.
If you drive carefully - 30 km/h in the city, and wear a helmet, then the police most likely will not find fault. But in the event of an accident, the fine for a tourist without a license will be very impressive.
There are rental points near almost every hotel. Rental price - from 233,000 VND per day for a moped with an automatic transmission. For 100,000 VND per day (cheaper for a few days), you can rent a bicycle - and this will be the right choice. As a rule, a deposit is not required - you can show the card of the hotel where you are staying.

Rent a Car
Renting a car in Da Nang will make life much easier for travelers - getting to the Marble Mountains and other interesting places in the vicinity of the city will be much easier. But it is worth considering that international laws do not apply in Vietnam - local ones are needed. Obtaining them is a hassle: it takes at least a month, and most likely you will need the help of a local lawyer.
Traffic on the roads is very chaotic, few people follow traffic rules, traffic in the city is mainly caused by motorcycles. There are no problems with parking - you can freely leave your car at hotels, beaches and shopping centers. There are rental points at the airport and city center. A Toyota Vios with an automatic transmission will cost from VND 1,000,000 per day. Both international companies (Alamo, Budget, Avis, National) and local ones operate in the car rental market in Da Nang.
There is an option to rent a car at a local office and drive at your own risk without a license, trying to understand the driving system of the Vietnamese, but it is better to rent a car with a driver - the price will not be much higher.
Communications and Wi-Fi
In Da Nang, as throughout Vietnam, communication services are provided by 4 operators - Mobifone, Viettel, Vietnamobile and Vinaphone. Everyone has similar rates. Viettel has the widest coverage area. It is better not to buy SIM cards immediately upon arrival at the airport - they are expensive, but to purchase them already in the city - at a hotel, communication shops (of which there are plenty) or supermarkets. The most profitable way is to deposit money into your account at The Gioididong mobile equipment network stores at the checkout. You can also top up your balance with special cards that are sold in any supermarket. The starter package costs from 70,000 VND, plus another 130,000 VND for 10 Gb of Internet (it’s more profitable to call via Viber and Skype). 3G internet is common in Vietnam.
Wi-Fi is available in almost all hotels and restaurants, as well as at the post office. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout Da Nang Airport.
Beaches of Da Nang
The most famous beaches in Da Nang - My Khe and China Beach (or Bac Mi An) stretch in a wide strip in the eastern part of the city. They are covered with soft light sand, the entrance to the water here is quite gentle - the depth increases smoothly, the area is clean and well-groomed. These are city beaches - they do not charge an entrance fee (umbrellas and sun loungers are paid, like all the others).
According to National Geographic, China Beach is one of the top 10 most beautiful beaches on the planet. This beach is associated with a 63-episode film about the events of the Vietnam War.
“My Khe” is more popular with locals during the season - it can be noisy there, so for those who love silence and privacy, it is better to choose “China Beach”. Non Nuoc Beach is located in the suburbs, closer to Hoi An - next to the Marble Mountains (you can walk to them from here).
When planning a vacation with children, you need to take into account that the local beaches have decent waves, especially from November to February.
The beaches of Da Nang have an excellent infrastructure: there are sun loungers with umbrellas, chairs, cafes, free showers and toilets. The cost of a sunbed is 30,000 VND, a chair is 23,000 VND. Here you can also buy fresh fruit from peddlers - coconut from 30,000 VND (it quenches your thirst perfectly in hot weather).
Surfing and diving in Da Nang
Da Nang is considered one of the world's surfing centers: international competitions have been held here since the 90s. A flat bottom, soft sand and a stable wind - all these components of ideal surfing attract lovers of riding the wave from all over the world; Kiting is also popular. There are many surf clubs in the area of China Beach and My Khe beaches, some of which have instructors with knowledge of Russian. You can rent all the necessary equipment for surfing and kiting or order lessons with an instructor (from VND 650,000 per day). In the summer months the waves are not very big - beginner surfers can learn. But the time from November to February is for real professionals; waves during this period reach 2 m.
In June, red jellyfish are found in the coastal strip. They can sting and are dangerous for allergy sufferers.
For connoisseurs of the beauty of the underwater world, Da Nang will also have something to do. Between it and Hoi An is the Cu Lao Cham Marine Park, a biosphere reserve protected by UNESCO. This is where diving and snorkeling enthusiasts come. The undoubted advantage of diving in Vietnam is its low cost. A one-day excursion with equipment rental and instructor will cost from VND 1,100,000.
Da Nang Hotels
There are plenty of hotels for tourists in Da Nang for any budget: hostels and guesthouses (from 70,000 VND per night), as well as hotels of various star ratings. You can rent an apartment here only for a long period - from six months.
If funds allow, it is most convenient to stay in hotels on China Beach: for example, Furama Beach Resort 5* or Melia Danang 4*. In general, there are many hotels in Da Nang on the first line near the beaches - there is plenty to choose from. Prices start from VND 750,000 and above. If a tourist stays for a period longer than a week, they often give a discount.
Of the inexpensive new hotels, Dragon Sea 2* has good reviews - it is located next to the bus stop, from where you can easily reach the Central Bus Station, and the beach is about 7 minutes on foot. The cost of a double room is from 700,000. VND.
What to bring
There are plenty of places in Da Nang where you can do good shopping: for clothes, shoes and equipment, you should go to the Han market (Cho Han), for souvenirs and handicrafts - to the shopping streets of Phan Chu Trinh and Hung Vuong. It is better to buy fruits, fish, and seafood in the Big C supermarket.
Vietnam is traditionally famous for its quality coffee and tea. The two most popular varieties of coffee, Arabica and Robusta, produced in Vietnam, are considered the best in the world. Gourmets here can buy a special variety of it - “Kopi Luwak”. Its grains are obtained from waste products, or simply - the excrement of musang animals that feed on coffee fruits. In the intestines of these animals, grains, under the influence of certain enzymes, acquire an unusual taste.
Vietnam Airlines often organizes promotions for tourists - giving coffee to those flying out of the country.
It is worth taking a closer look at clothes made from Vietnamese silk and local pearl jewelry (Vietnamese pearls are very highly valued in the jewelry market). As a gift, you can choose leather goods (bags, belts, wallets) - both quite traditional and exotic - made from the skin of crocodiles and snakes. Flip-flops, which have become a household name, will also serve as an excellent souvenir from Da Nang. It is impossible to ignore traditional medicine products - all kinds of ointments, balms and tinctures - for example, the famous “Zvezdochka” balm.
Da Nang cuisine and restaurants
Vietnamese cuisine is very diverse: the main combination of flavors is spicy and sweet. For Russians and Europeans, many dishes may seem very exotic, but the masterpieces of local cuisine are definitely worth getting acquainted with. Fortunately, Da Nang has many authentic restaurants. The most popular budget restaurant is Thung Phi BBQ restaurant, where you can taste grilled seafood sets. The average bill is 700,000 VND. The most expensive and luxurious restaurant is La Maison 1888, winner of three Michelin stars, located in the building of the Continental Hotel.
The main unusual local treat, famous throughout the world, is fish sauce. It is prepared from finely chopped salted fish through fermentation.
The basis of Vietnamese cuisine is rice and soups. The most famous are “Pho”, “Bun Bo Hue”, crab soup, “Lao”. Da Nang is full of places that sell food on the street. There is no need to disdain these “eateries” - locals only eat here because it’s tasty and cheap. We recommend trying “ban bao” - steamed pies with various fillings (about VND 15,000). Another interesting variety of street food is nem nuong rice rolls (deep-fried rice flour pancakes with vegetable, fish or soy fillings) and rice chips. Exotic lovers will be able to taste fried insects, frogs in batter and minced snake.

Entertainment and attractions
The main symbol of Da Nang is a 67-meter statue of Buddha (Lady Buddha - the female form of the great sage). It is located on the Monkey Peninsula (Son Tra), located northeast of the city, in the Linh Ung temple complex. Other famous attractions are Linh Ung Pagoda and Sculpture Park. Another symbol of the city is the Dragon Bridge, spanning the Han River. At night, the dragon glows and “spews out flames” - these fire shows are definitely worth watching, because the country’s best engineers worked on the original lighting.
Arriving in Da Nang, you should definitely visit the Marble Mountains - this is a nature reserve in which temples and statues of heroes of local folklore coexist with the creations of nature - amazing grottoes and caves. The Vietnamese called this place “Mountains of the Five Elements” - fire, water, earth, metal, wood. Marble was also mined in those mountains for many centuries - hence the name.
There is one peculiarity: the Vietnamese are poor and very enterprising; they try to deceive white tourists everywhere. In museums, for example, buy tickets only at the box office, since caretakers or cleaners often try to extort money - under the pretext of navigating through secret paths faster and without queuing.
35 km from Da Nang there is a cable car, listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the highest (1.3 km above sea level) and the longest (5042 m). It links the base of Ba Na Mountain with the peak of nearby Vong Nguyet Mountain. There tourists can see a statue of a sitting Buddha.
Since public transport in Da Nang is not developed, and all the main attractions are located outside the city limits, it makes sense to take excursions. Tourists are transported on comfortable air-conditioned buses, and on sea excursions - on modern hydrofoil ships. The price is 1,000,000 - 1,900,000 VND per person (depending on the direction).
Fans of ancient artifacts should definitely visit the Cham Museum (about the people who lived in Vietnam in the 5th-15th centuries). It is easily accessible on foot from any corner of the city.
5 things to do in Da Nang
- Go on a mountain hike to the Lin-Ung Temple and halfway try to take a photo with the Lady Buddha statue “in the palm of your hand.”
- Try the mysterious and elite drink made from Kopi Luwak grains.
- Ride the waves at China Beach
- Watch the evening light show at the Dragon Bridge.
- Try exotic dishes - fried grasshoppers or minced snake.
Danang for children
At the top of Mount Bana, located 35 km from Da Nang, there is a real city - with hotels, gardens, temples, restaurants and inns. Most tourists come here to ride the longest cable car and visit the unique amusement park Fantasy Park. This complex is inspired by Jules Verne's novels Journey to the Center of the Earth and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
Another worthy place for families is the large-scale amusement park “Asia” (office site in English). You need to pay for entry once, and then ride all the attractions for free. The park has replicas of the main attractions of all Asian countries. The Sun Wheel Ferris wheel is striking in its scale and is included in the top ten tallest in the world (at the top point of its rise its height reaches 115 m). It offers a particularly beautiful view of the city in the evening - the whole of Da Nang is in lights, clearly visible. November
December
Da Nang is located in a tropical climate zone characterized by a mild and humid climate. The rainy season runs from late July to early January. From April to June is the dry season. The rest of the time it rains several times a week, usually at night. There are days when the sun does not burn, but is shrouded in haze; during such periods it is pleasant to engage in active recreation and sightseeing. But you shouldn't neglect sunscreen. Strong winds blow along the coast from November to February. The optimal time to travel to Da Nang is considered to be April-May.
Vietnam relatively recently began to be considered by Russians as a place where they can indulge in a carefree beach holiday. As a rule, our fellow citizens prefer the resorts of Nha Trang or Saigon with their developed infrastructure. However, recently you can hear positive reviews from tourists about Da Nang (Vietnam).
Terra incognita
Those who have already been to Vietnam will agree that there are no special language problems at the famous resorts of this country, since any restaurant has a menu in Russian, there are specialized information centers for Russians, etc. This is primarily due to the popularity of Nha Trang and Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) among residents of the former Soviet republics. The situation is completely different in Da Nang, where foreign tourists, and especially Russians, are a rarity. However, this also has its advantages. For example, if you are wondering whether to go to Da Nang (Vietnam), reviews from tourists will point out the advantage of this city as its relatively sparsely populated and clean beaches. Agree, this is a rarity for any popular resort, and it cannot but please travelers, especially if they go on vacation with children. Moreover, the city's Chinese Beach is included in the list of the best in the world and is considered a great place for surfing enthusiasts.
Temples
Reading reviews about Da Nang and our compatriots’ impressions of Vietnam, you can often hear praise for the original architecture of local Buddhist temples. And she really is wonderful! For those who have been to China, the pagodas of Da Nang will be nothing new. However, even such sophisticated connoisseurs of Asia are unlikely to resist the temptation to examine the 67-meter statue of Buddha, installed in the largest temple in the city of Lungh-Unga in the 18th century. To see it, tourists will have to take a bus tour to the Son Tra Peninsula and climb a high hill from which a magnificent view of Da Nang opens.
Cham Museum
This establishment was inherited by the city from the French, who not only exploited the Vietnamese, but also did a lot to preserve their national culture.
In 1915, on the initiative of the School of Far Eastern Studies, a museum was opened in Da Nang, which today is one of the most famous attractions of the city. It houses the largest collection of unique Cham sculpture. The museum consists of ten halls, where, along with sculptures, photographs taken 100-120 years ago and telling about life in Indochina are also presented. Many stone sculptures presented in the museum date back to the V-XV centuries AD.
A ticket to the museum, which is located in the central part of Da Nang, at the intersection of Bach Dang and Trang Nu Vuong streets, costs VND 30,000 (about 75 rubles).
Hot Springs
25 km from Da Nang there is a mud bath, famous throughout Southeast Asia. The complex is based on thermal springs, the temperature of which fluctuates around 55 degrees. Tourists come there to improve their health and restore youth to their joints.
Museum of the Fifth Militarized Zone
For those planning to travel to Vietnam (Danang), reviews from tourists recommend visiting the largest exhibition of military equipment. It is part of the museum exhibition dedicated to the defense of the 5th military zone during the confrontation with the French colonialists and the war with the American occupiers. Among the most valuable exhibits are rare images of tanks, armored vehicles and aircraft. Its address is: 01 Duy Tan Street. The ticket price is 20,000 dong (approximately 50 rubles).
Amusement park (Vietnam, Da Nang)
Feedback from tourists suggests that you should definitely climb Mount Ba-Na using the world's highest cable car to visit the fairy-tale knight's castle, which will appeal to both adults and children.
On the territory of the largest amusement park in Vietnam there is Miracle City, several restaurants, 2 hotels, an antique-style wine cellar with a collection of excellent French wines, and a state-of-the-art rodel alley was recently launched there, where you can slide down on a special sleigh.
It is better to visit Mount Ba-Na as part of an organized excursion with a Russian-speaking guide.
Marble Mountains
This natural attraction is located between Hoi An and Da Nang. The Marble Mountains are made up of 5 stone hills. It is known that in ancient times these places were covered with water, and the tops of the hills protruding above the surface were islands. The Vietnamese named each of the mountains after one of the elements that make up the Universe: Hoa Son (fire), Thuy Son (water), Moc Son (wood), Tho Son (earth) and Qim Son (metal). Inside the mountains there are natural caves that have been converted into Buddhist sanctuaries. The Marble Mountains are visited by thousands of pilgrims every year.
If you want to explore the caves of Da Nang, you should take a flashlight with you, and also be prepared to meet bats, among which there are representatives of species with a terrifying appearance.
To climb the Marble Mountains you need to pay 15,000 in local currency.
Holidays in Da Nang (Vietnam): description of hotels
Most of the city's tourist hotels are located along white sand beaches. It is recommended to give preference to hotels of world brands, the rooms of which are in great demand. New hotel centers, such as the 150-room Inter Continental, are especially in demand.
If you are interested in more budget options, then you should look for them along Tran Hung Dao Street. There you can rent a cozy single room for 14-25 EUR. There are also inexpensive hotels along Pham Phu Thu.
How to get there
For those planning to travel to Vietnam (Danang), reviews from tourists will also help them decide what type of transport is best to get there. There are several options. Among them:
- Arrive by plane. The city has one of three international airports, receiving flights from the capital, as well as countries in the region. Unfortunately, there are no direct flights to Danang from Russia, so our tourists get there by air after a transfer at Hanoi airport.
- By rail. Da Nang railway station is located in the very center of the city. Trains pass through it on routes from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang. It is most profitable to take night flights, since in this case you can save on hotel accommodation.
- By bus. Any review of Vietnam (Danang, in particular) shows that the cheapest way to get to this city is by bus. Prices depend on the route and range from 20 to 30 US dollars. At the same time, traveling from Hanoi to Da Nang by bus will take approximately 12 hours. The bus station, which also serves international flights to Taos, is located on Dien Bien Phu Street.
Now you know where Da Nang (Vietnam) is located. Holidays on the beaches, Da Nang hotels and the main attractions of the resort will certainly appeal to anyone looking for a place where they can spend their holidays in relative privacy and at a high level.
Da Nang is the fifth largest city. For thousands of tourists flocking to the Pacific coast, Da Nang is attractive primarily for its many kilometers of beach. Da Nang is a metropolis in which modern business districts, ethnic areas are closely adjacent, and excellent conditions for a beach holiday are created. Plus, one of the largest ports in the country is located here. We will tell you about what a holiday in Da Nang, Vietnam is like, what attractions and entertainment there are, in this article.
Da Nang is located in the central part of Vietnam, directly on the coast of the South China Sea. To the south is Hoi An, and a little further north is the UNESCO-protected town of Hue.
Danang on the map
Vietnamese resorts, unlike, for example, Indonesian ones, cannot be described as equally suitable for beach holidays all year round. The air temperature may vary significantly depending on the month of travel. You can evaluate the differences in the following diagram:
The hottest season is from April to September, and the coolest, relatively speaking, is from December to February. But even at this time the thermometer does not drop below 20 degrees at night, which makes this period suitable for swimming.
Speaking about the sea, it is worth noting that in addition to the level of its warming, the presence of waves plays a significant role. Coastal waters are calmest from May to August.
Sea water temperature by month:
As for the rainy season, it is pronounced in Da Nang and occurs from September to early January. During these months, there are almost as many rainy days as sunny days. The greatest amount of precipitation falls in November.
It is worth noting that the rains themselves do not particularly interfere with beach holidays, since they most often occur in the evening hours and are torrential, but short-lived. However, it is during this period that typhoons are common in Da Nang, causing rough seas.
A trip in the low season is an opportunity to save up to 50% of your vacation budget.
How to get there
You can get from Russia to Da Nang by plane. The international airport is located 4 km from the city.
There are no direct flights from Russia.
It is possible to fly with a transfer in Hanoi, Singapore, Beijing. There are also flights with 2 connections. The cost of a ticket for an adult passenger departing from Moscow is from 285 euros one way. Travel time depends on the number of transfers and the duration of connections and in the best case is 12.5 hours.
You can get from the airport to your holiday destination by taxi. You can order their services at the appropriate counter upon arrival or by renting a car directly at the exit. Lively taxi drivers very loudly invite potential clients.
The cost of a trip by regular car will cost about 100,000 VND and 45,000 VND by motorcycle taxi.
Important! Official taxi services in Da Nang operate on a meter, but if the services are provided by a “accidentally caught” car, then you should agree on the price before boarding, without forgetting to bargain.
From other parts of the country
If Da Nang is not the first vacation spot during a trip to Vietnam, then the most convenient way to get from other regions of the country is by bus.
Da Nang Bus Station is located on the western side of the metropolis and serves both domestic and international routes. The latter depart from Da Nang to Laos and Cambodia.
The cost of bus tickets depends on the direction of travel. For a ticket to Dong Hoi you will have to pay 200,000 dong (travel time - 5 hours), and a 3-hour trip to Hue will cost 120,000 dong.
The journey from Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi takes about 14-16 hours, which is quite tiring.
An alternative in this case may be domestic flights. The cost of a ticket from Hanoi is from 13 euros, from Ho Chi Minh City - 16 euros. The flight in both cases is non-stop and lasts about an hour and a half.
Another way to travel within the country is by rail. You can get to Da Nang by train from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City or Nha Trang. When choosing this type of transport, it is worth considering that local trains are quite slow and expensive. So a trip from Ho Chi Minh City will cost at least $40, and you will have to spend almost 16 hours on the road. Costs and schedules can be found on the official website of Vietnamese Railways.
Russian citizens can stay in Vietnam without a visa for no more than 15 days.
Useful information about Da Nang
How to get around
There is no public transport in the city, there are only a few bus routes that take passengers from different points of the city to the intercity station.

Car rent
You can rent a scooter or a car, but there is a problem with driving, since international driving licenses are not valid in Vietnam. Therefore, many tourists travel without documents.
Advice! If you decide to rent a scooter without documents, try to drive slowly and be sure to wear a helmet. This will reduce the risk of being stopped by a police officer.
Rental offices are located at almost every major hotel. The rental price per day starts from 230,000 VND for a scooter with an automatic transmission.
An alternative to a car or moped is a bicycle, which does not require permits to operate and to obtain one, it is enough to present a card of the hotel where the tourist is staying. The cost of this environmentally friendly vehicle is 100,000 VND per day.
Where to stay
There are various accommodation options available for holidaymakers in Da Nang. The cost depends on the list of amenities and services, room level, and distance from the sea.
The most budget option is a small room in the city center costing $7 per night. For the same price you can rent a room in Duc Phu Tam Hostel, located much closer to the coast than the first option.

Rice is most often fried using coconut oil, adding vegetables, seafood or meat.
Pho soup
As for soups, the choice is quite large, but the traditional “Pho”, which is prepared with beef, is especially interesting. Or Lao, which will interest tourists not only with its amazing taste characteristics, but also with its presentation method. Essentially, a cafe visitor receives a boiling broth and all the necessary ingredients for it, which they independently send into the aromatic liquid. After 5 minutes, the whole company has the opportunity to enjoy the bright taste of the first course.
It is worth paying attention to the yield of the soup, since Pho is a portioned dish, while Lao is most often designed to be eaten by a group.
Other interesting dishes of Vietnamese cuisine include:
- Steamed bun bao pies;
- Spring rolls are rice paper rolls with various fillings.
In addition to all of the above, Da Nang is a great place to try various delicacies: fried insects, frog, snake or crocodile meat.
Shopping and souvenirs
Da Nang offers the following conditions for a pleasant shopping experience:
What to bring from Da Nang
- Coffee. This product should be brought from any region of Vietnam. The varieties grown here, coupled with the peculiarities of roasting, give the beans a unique aroma, incomparable to coffee from other countries. In addition to traditional Arabica or Robusta, here you can buy the so-called “Kopi Lubak”, coffee made from beans that, after ripening, were eaten by the Musang animal and then collected from its excrement. This variety is believed to have an unusual taste, achieved through the action of certain enzymes in the animal's intestines;
- Vietnamese silk. In local ateliers you can buy both fabric and finished products, which will be created according to the client’s standards;
- Jewelry with pearls, when choosing it you should beware of counterfeit items;
- Leather accessories: belts, handbags, wallets and much more;
- Local medicinal balms. For example, the famous “Zvezdochka” or “Cobratox”, which is very effective for rheumatic pain

Attractions
While staying in Da Nang, you should definitely visit the main attraction - the Marble Mountains. They consist of five peaks, each of which has its own name: water, wood, fire, earth, metal. Inside these mountains there are caves that may require a flashlight when visiting. There are Buddhist temples around.
At the foot of the hills there are two villages where local artisans engage in stone processing. In rural shops you can buy dishes and marble figurines inexpensively.
Another interesting attraction located 30 km from Da Nang is the Vong Nguyet peak, the peak of which can be reached by cable car. The path starts from the foot of the neighboring Bana Mountain and leads to the highest point of Vong Nguyet, on which stands a statue of a seated Buddha.
Da Nang also has sculpture museums and a UNESCO-protected city museum.
The 67-meter stone Buddha can be seen on the Monkey Peninsula.
An interesting sight can be seen on the Dragon Bridge, which spans the Han River, when a fire show takes place here at night: the dragon is all glowing and spews rays of flame from its mouth.
Excursions
As mentioned above, in Da Nang there are no established and regular bus routes running around the surrounding area, and the bulk of attractions are located outside the city. Therefore, it makes sense to go explore the region not by taxi, but as part of an excursion.
The cost depends on the distance of the attraction and the type of transport, so an excursion by sea will cost more. The minimum price per person is 500,000 VND.
Leisure
The waves that roll up to the shores of Da Nang at certain times of the year attract surfers from different parts of the world to the region.

Beaches of Da Nang these are beautiful, clean, wide, uncrowded beaches, which for some reason are not yet popular among European tourists. Our people mainly choose Mui Ne or Phu Kok Islands for their holidays. And in vain! The beaches of Da Nang are magnificent during the season, and one of the beaches, China Beach or Chinese Beach, is recognized by Forbes magazine as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world!

Da Nang Beaches: My Khe and Bac My An (Chinese Beach)
My Khe Beach And Bac Mi An (Chinese Beach) are located in the east of Da Nang and stretch for several kilometers from north to south. The beaches of Da Nang are separated from the bustling city center by a wide river. The resort area near the beaches is completely empty on weekdays, only on weekends and holidays a few Vietnamese families come to the beach to swim in the sea or have a picnic.

In general, there is no clear boundary between My Khe beaches and Chinese beach in Da Nang. My Khe beach is located to the north, closer to the mountain and the Lady Buddha statue, and the Chinese beach is to the south, near. If we go further south along the coast, we will come to an equally chic one, where there are still more tourists than on the beaches of Da Nang. Europeans prefer to settle in Hoi An rather than Da Nang. If you are planning to visit Hoi An, then this information is for you:
Luxurious hotels have been built on Chinese Beach right on the seashore. One of them is the Furama Beach Resort, considered the best five-star hotel in Vietnam!
To the north, the beach strip narrows, a long, wide and green embankment stretches along the sea (oh, how we lack a good embankment 🙂, a mini careless one doesn’t count). The hotels are located across the street from the beach.

Food prices in restaurants by the sea are not very high
My Khe beach also has a lot of sun loungers and umbrellas, there are showers and small tents with drinks. Check if there is water in the shower, otherwise we are planning to swim in the sea in (), I decided to check first if there is water in the shower - but there is no water :) It depends on everyone, but for me it is important to wash off the sea salt from yourself after swimming in the sea.
The cost of renting a sun lounger under an umbrella on Danang beach is 30,000 VND (~ 1.5 dollars).

The beach strip is very wide, and the sand is white - white and very fine. It's a pleasure to walk along the surf line. The entry into the sea is very smooth; it will take a long time to reach the depths. Convenient for families with children.

Beach season in Da Nang
When is the beach season in Da Nang? In general, it is believed that the best time to relax on the beaches of Da Nang is from January to August. I don’t know, I don’t know how to swim there in January-March? We vacationed at the end of May-beginning of June and the water in the sea was icy! Although maybe I’m being picky, I just love the warm sea, like it was on Koh Samui in July :)
In June, jellyfish swim to the shores of Da Nang: they are not life-threatening, but you should swim in the sea with caution.
From September to November-December there are strong storms at sea. It is at this time that world surfing competitions are held on the Chinese beach of Da Nang.
In spring and summer, the sea in Da Nang is calm. Strong storms may occur in October-December

Da Nang Airport is located almost in the city center :) Air tickets to Da Nang are easy to find and buy.
By train
The railway connects Da Nang with many cities in Vietnam: , Hue, and others. You can view the train schedule to and from Da Nang.
By bus
Vietnam has a well-developed bus service. Sleeping basses are especially popular among tourists :) By bus from Da Nang you can travel all over Vietnam. You can look at the bus schedule and ticket prices.
conclusions
Da Nang is a good low-tourist city in Vietnam with gorgeous beaches. Danang would be a good choice for wintering in Vietnam, if not for several BUTs:
- Apartments in Da Nang are rented only for long periods of 6 months or even a year. You can, of course, live in a guest house for 10 - 12 dollars a day, but this is not our option.
- Cold and rainy weather in autumn and winter. Still, Da Nang is located north of Nha Trang, and even in Nha Trang in November-December it is cool and rainy.
Vibrant landscapes of Da Nang. What a beautiful sea there is!
But Da Nang, like neighboring Hoi An, is ideal for a beach holiday in Vietnam in the summer months. Due to the shallow sea and gently sloping inlet, Da Nang is a good place for families with small children. And fans of many kilometers of walks along the sea will not leave this beach indifferent :)
