Miami nightlife scams. Night Miami: clubs and more. Night club "Space"
Honestly, after the space beauties of California and the amazing program that the wonderful guys from near San Francisco gave us, I mentally prepared for the fact that Florida and Miami would be more boring. Yes, here in February, as in Rostov-on-Don in June, there are many palm trees, a luxurious sea - almost the Caribbean, amazing service (the USA was the first to invent this concept) ... But still, this is not California. The first day here, in principle, my expectations were justified. But as soon as we got to downtown on Tuesday evening, leaving the beaches and resorts behind, I immediately realized that there is something to go here for. Miami is able to surprise to the core even after California.
In general, the main reason we went to Miami (rather than staying in California for two weeks) was the desire to meet my dad sister. The past of our family, alas, was not at all as smooth and brilliant as we would like. When I was born, my father was in his third marriage, and my mother was in her second. I don’t have sisters and brothers at the same time from mom and dad, but on my mother’s side I have a brother and sister, who are, well, just much, much older, on my father’s side there are three brothers and a sister. With the first we communicated and communicate - but I knew only vaguely about the existence of the second. With the advent of Facebook, all people became closer, and somehow Olya accidentally found me - my dad's sister, we began to correspond a lot, and on this trip to the USA, I decided to drop by Miami to get to know her personally.
Now it is difficult to tell everything that I would like to tell about Olya, our acquaintance and what happened before - I will definitely touch on this topic later. When traveling, there is usually less than a minimum time for posting, so let's focus better this time on downtown Miami, tell you briefly about what impressed me, why I proudly called it the city of the future and why it would be worth each of you to come and see the capital of Florida.
1. Alas, most, if you ask what Miami looks like, represent snow-white beaches, a turquoise ocean, sexy lifeguards from American films of the 80s and small coastal houses with endless taverns, clubs, disco. The image that Hollywood began to build back in the distant 70s. And yes, it is quite real, but what was described above is the town of Miami Beach, located on an island ten miles from Miami. The downtown of Florida's main city itself looks completely different - modern, booming, large, with dozens of skyscrapers.
2. It took us 30 or even 40 minutes to get from Miami Beach to those parts. Crossing endless canals, on the banks of which real palaces and castles of celebrities and rich people from all over the world are built. Yes, Russian property there is also more than enough :)
3. We arrived in downtown Miami after sunset, and it literally amazed us with millions of lights, huge buildings, spacious green parks and endless pedestrian zones.
4. This is how I always imagined the city of the future - here at the head of everything - a person, a pedestrian, a resident. Here everything is done for him. Luxurious embankments with glass skyscrapers immersed in greenery, without motor transport.
5. No fences and partitions, fences - everything is as open and accessible as possible.
6. A city that looks more like a giant sanatorium or resort than what we are used to, and which is Moscow or even New York. A million options for walking, bike rental, convenient and environmentally friendly public transport, which you subconsciously prefer to your own car. Because it's more convenient.
7. Modern Miami is generally a very interesting phenomenon, quite bright enough to be called worthy of the attention of the world community. Local authorities are doing their best to turn their home and city into the largest cultural and business center throughout the country and even the world. They canceled the state tax that they collect on every purchase in almost every American region, they create a favorable climate for attracting investors - as a result, the entire center is brand new, like a needle, beautiful, beautiful, full of brand new skyscrapers. There are even more construction sites here. In a few more years, Miami will probably have twice as many interesting things. Natural conditions only once again stimulate the attraction of the attention of world corporations - there is eternal summer here: the temperature here fluctuates from +19 to +32 all year round. Two steps away - the world famous resort.
8. In the midst of all modern newfangled buildings - a cozy quarter of the old city with low houses, a huge number of cafes and restaurants. A gastronomic paradise - like almost everywhere in America.
9. The entire downtown is surrounded by flyovers of the ground light metro - this is a fully automated system. Small wagons roll along the tracks, sometimes moving singly, and sometimes doubled or even tripled.
10. The trailers look like this, there is no driver inside, passengers can stand at the very beginning, at the windshield and enjoy the view "from the driver's cab." Travel by light subway is absolutely free, wagons can take you to any corner in the downtown, they go very often - more than once every five minutes. The paths among the huge amount of greenery and skyscrapers seem to be something super-futuristic. Sometimes I caught myself feeling that I was on the set of The Fifth Element.
11. I will tell you many, many more interesting things about Miami, and show you dozens of photos - the best of the few hundred that I have taken here over the past few days. The city is surprisingly curious, here you want to shoot every corner, every brick in the building and the tiles on the path - everything is so interesting, revealing and great! But everything has its time.
In Miami, we have very little left - one tomorrow, Friday. On Saturday early in the morning we take a plane to New York, where we will have a few free hours, and then we will have a long flight to Sheremetyevo. Back to work on Monday.
Seems implausible. After such a long and eventful journey, Russia seems completely unreal. It was as if we flew to New York in February and spent a whole month there, March and April were in California, and May and June in Florida. Surely, it will be extremely difficult to be in Moscow, where February has just ended...
But nothing. I hope that the impressions that this huge trip brought us will be able to warm our hearts until the next such voyage. I'm sure he won't keep you waiting for sure.

Night club "Space"
About nightlife, club parties and dance music in Miami, you probably heard a lot without us. Therefore, briefly and to the point - passwords and appearances of clubs and similar establishments in Miami. The order of the list is unbiased, draw your own conclusions.
Amnesia
136 Collins Ave., Miami Beach - www.amnesiamiami.com - $$$
A holy place is never empty. Closed in the early 90s, the club was revived, replacing the popular, but losers in the confrontation with the locals, Opium Garden and Privé. The new Amnesia now has a roof that keeps decibels in and humidity percentages out. In general, one of the rare enough democratic clubs in Miami.
Cameo
1445 Washington Ave., Miami Beach - www.cameomiami.com - $$
The nth reincarnation of the former cinema only gets prettier over the years. Atmospheric. House on Fridays, hip hop on Saturdays.
LIV
4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach - www.livnightclub.com - $$$$
Mega, super, the most-very - the most common epithets that you will hear about LIV. Celebrities - recognizable and not so, drinks - exceptionally strong, outfits leave no room for imagination. The queue for the toilet is from the category of “seeing people and showing yourself”.
mansion
1235 Washington Ave., Miami Beach - www.mansionmiami.com - $$
Luxury, Venetian mirrors, chandeliers and fireplaces. An unexpectedly modest dance floor run by very immodest names - Steve Aoki, Dirty South, David Guetta, Avicii, Carl Cox, Nic Fanciulli, Joris Voorn.
Mokai
235 23rd St., Miami Beach - www.mokaimiami.com - $$
VIP-lounge all over Miami. With passwords, goose and whisper.
Mynt Ultra Lounge
1921 Collins Ave., Miami Beach - www.myntlounge.com - $$$
Pathetic and pretentious. Wear all fashion at once. Don't forget to pull in your stomach.
set
320 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach - www.setmiami.com - $$$
The club is run by CQ cover face and Foreigner's son Mick Jones. The audience matches. The interior recreates the glamor and luxury of Hollywood in the 30s. Leather, wood, glass, antiques and elevators with go-go girls.
Space
34 NE 11th St., Miami - www.clubspace.com - $$
An atypical place in the plastic monotony of club Miami. Located in downtown, three floors with an open roof terrace, music - industrial / progressive, 24-hour alcohol license. You should not come before 3 am, do not plan anything for the whole next day either. A break from the "survival of the fittest" category.
WALL
2201 Collins Ave., Miami Beach - www.wallmiami.com - $$$
Boutique-lounge mix, pardon my Russian.
Nikki Beach
1 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach - www.nikkibeachmiami.com - $$$
Sunday afternoon. Exhausted from club days off, bodies get hungover and work on their tan. Sofas, hammocks, sand, cocktails and house music. The quintessence of life in South Beach style.

And finally, a couple of tips. VIP bracelets with passes to the club, which a fidgety guy or a curvy girl put on you with a conspiratorial look on the street or on the beach, do not work! Passes or coupons received as a gift or as a load at the hotel do not work! At best, you will swell chic in the company of the same poor fellows at the tail of a long queue. The rules are the same everywhere - “I put on everything fashionable at once”, “flying gait”, guestlist, etc. Mixed groups and early birds are easier. If you don’t like the first one, and the second one didn’t work out, no one canceled the good old bottle service. The calculation is one bottle for two or three people.
Miami is known for its glitz and glamour. On any evening, you are guaranteed to find a place where you can treat yourself to a cocktail, listen to DJs and dance. Although many of them are closed and getting into them is not so easy.

Orlando — Miami
Toward evening, we packed our suitcases, which were added and there were already four pieces, loaded into the car and said goodbye to my father. Orlando is a city of lakes and Disneyland, malls and outlets, the city where my father lives ... We worked up from the heart, rested and shopped for 5 years in advance. Farewell Orlando, rolling to Miami!
We arrived in about 3 hours. We made a stop at the Plaza along the way. There are a lot of such plazas along the way, where you can refuel and have a snack.
Clubs in Fort Lauderdale
We stopped in the neighboring town of Fort Lauderdale with a friend, which is a 30-minute drive.
Upon arrival, we immediately went to the center of Fort Lauderdale, where we walked through the local clubs and bars, of which there are over a hundred. There is no special pathos in the institutions, there are a lot of young people who thump absolutely everywhere.
Some of the places we have visited are:
America's Backyard (100 Nugent Ave, FL 33312)
Cyn (111 SW 2nd Ave, FL 33301)
Vibe (301 E Las Olas Blvd, FL 33301)
Miami Beach & Clubs
Miami and Miami Beach are two different cities, and if the first is a business city with its business centers, houses, then the latter is an island with beaches, hotels, a promenade with cafes, drinking establishments and numerous clubs. Our friend drove us here the next morning, having previously driven us past the places where large parties were planned that evening.
Having bought a swimsuit and sunglasses, we went to sunbathe and swim. Like last time, I was looking forward to the beaches of Miami, imagining how there would be girls around with size 3 in bikinis and a flat stomach, and along with them there would be men with a 50-centimeter bicep and all 8 cubes. And just like last time, I saw a lot of tourists, a lot of Russians, just like on any other beach. Eh ... these are the stereotypes that American cinematography instills in the human brain.
What, in principle, can still be said about Miami Beach. This is a wide beach with palm trees and several streets parallel to it. There is a bar on a bar, a club on a club, cafes, many tourists and a lot of young people. Someone walks, someone thumps, someone rides back and forth on Ocean Drive, demonstrating their cool car.
Airplanes are constantly hovering in the air, pulling huge advertising streamers behind them, telling where the party will be today.
Prices in cafes and restaurants in Moscow. I highly recommend Nikki Beach (1 Ocean Dr, Miami Beach, FL 33139), which is recognized as a daytime icon along the coast for its legendary Sunday brunches with dancing, shows and bubbles.
After spending the whole day on the beach, we drove back to pack up and get ready to check Miami's nightclubs for crazyness.
Last time I was at the Mansion, I remember that there was good music, a huge dance floor and great Long Islands.
Well, let's get to start a party! In the morning, a friend showed us LIV right away, the same Mansion and Space. She singled out the latter with great apprehension, warning that he was in a very dangerous area. Well… she was damn right, but more on that later.
So, we arrived at the Fontainebleau hotel, because it is in it that the promoted LIV is located. It is considered to be the best club in Miami. By the way, the same seems to be in Monaco. Face control and dress code, in my opinion, are serious, everything is as it should be. In front of the entrance there is a square fenced with a ribbon, around which party-goers stand and wait to be chosen to go inside. We were noticed almost immediately and we, having shown our Russian rights, entered without difficulty. Entrance cost $80 per person! Perhaps more expensive only in the Bagamagi. It always seemed to me that in a normal institution you don’t need to pay for admission, well, apparently American politics is a little different. Club LIV consists of two floors: on the second floor there are lounge areas and a bar, on the first floor there is a dance floor, tables, another bar and a stage. High ceilings, great sound system, large room. Everything is very bright and enchanting, the people around are beautiful and well dressed. The DJ plays very high-quality techno, and next to him, girls dance on the stage, performing various shows. From time to time, fireworks and huge balls fly out, which people throw over their heads among themselves throughout the hall. It seems that everything here is filled with pathos and glamour. You feel like you're in a good party. The DJ, as if, is dancing along with the vacationers, as if he feels what they need and does not let them rest for a minute. Prices, of course, atas. Not like Moscow ones, but I don’t even know which ones. First they drank Jägermeister. I didn’t remember the exact price, because everywhere it was different, that is, at first they poured it for us for $39, in another bar for $44, and somewhere else for $50. I got the impression that they are looking at you and setting a price. I saw a bottle of champagne on the menu, ATTENTION, for $150,000!!! Guard!
Around 3 we realized that we needed to change the picture, and decided to see what kind of green Space it was. After the car was parked and parking paid, we were immediately offered $10 magic pills from an African American who was biking there. After sending it farther, we headed for the entrance. $40 per person and we are inside. There are only 2 floors: on the first one there is an incomprehensible hip-hop party, on the second there is a tin. When you get up, you immediately see a crowd of people in glasses, who are unrealistically sausage. The music is fucking awesome. Let's go dance! After dancing for a while, you start to enter what kind of place this is. You pay attention to what is happening to whom, and when you find out that the institution is open 24 hours, then in the end you understand that the club is full of crap. Now it is clear where we are. The music and atmosphere are really conducive to dancing. But everyone rests differently, so if you are here, then I will write what you need to pay attention to. 1) Do not lose sight of your drink, that is, if you put it on the bar counter and turn away, then forget about it, take another one better, in such hot places there are people who can easily add or mix something unkind. 2) If you came with a young lady, then be next to her, and if she needs to go to the toilet, then see her and wait, near the toilets I noticed more than once girls in prostration, who were skillfully picked up by some guy and led along. 3) There are a lot of hucksters, at some point it seemed to me that there were more of them than just party-goers, so be careful too. We got into a conversation with some guys and very soon, almost everyone around knew that we were tourists from Russia. From different people there were many proposals to go to another place, hotel, home, etc., etc. At some point, there was a feeling that they wanted to slip something into us, pour it in, take it somewhere or go out with us. The most vivid memories of this place are the music and the moments when explosive techno plays, a puff of smoke is blown onto the dance floor, and we dance together, the impression is as if we flew somewhere far away and there is no one around. Actually, once again after launching such smoke, I grab my girlfriend by the hand and just run out of this fiend. With a quick gait we are approaching the car, and what do you think? 4 guys of Hispanic appearance come out next and quickly follow us. We jump into a taxi and leave. Just a f[***]ets. If you are ever going to the space club, then be careful, put on your glasses too and keep your mouth shut.
