Here's how you can go to Poland and not visit Warsaw, Gdansk? These two cities are simply mesmerizing, inspiring, you can just walk for hours along the old part of Warsaw or the Gdansk embankment and be absolutely happy. I have already been to the Polish capital and the port of Gdansk several times. Each time I traveled on my own, as all my friends do not share my desire to spend all my savings on such trips. And I always plan the trip myself. So it was at that time, the route Gdansk - I planned on my own.
Automobile
It is possible to overcome more than four hundred kilometers from Gdansk to Warsaw in four hours by car. And this can be done due to the fact that motorways in Poland are in excellent condition - wide lanes, high-quality asphalt, bright markings, and there are chippers. All for a solid five!) Renting such a vehicle is now very easy on the Internet, because there are a lot of online services like where you can see prices, brands and immediately book a rental. The only disadvantage of such a trip is paid travel. For a section of the A1 motorway from Gdansk to Torun, you will have to pay about 30 zlotys (7 euros).
Payment for travel is made at the entrance to the toll zone by bank cards or cash. But no one forces you to travel on toll roads. You can plan the route in such a way as to drive along free routes, for example, E77. It is also of good quality, the only negative is that it will turn out more in terms of mileage, respectively, the duration of the trip is an hour or two longer.

After such trips, you return home not only with a bunch of impressions, emotions, but with inspiration for new achievements, new ideas appear ... In short, you need to make such a trip and everything will become clear)). I love Gdansk. I like to walk along the embankment in the evening, look at the sea, the ferries... The process of renting a car in Poland will not take you much time. Frankly, I have never used rental services, because I always travel by public transport. But my friends always make out a rental long before the trip itself through. This saves time, because you do not need to run around an unfamiliar city in search of rental companies.
Travel itinerary:
- From Warsaw to it is worth going along the A2 highway.
- Then turn north, the trip should run along the A1 highway to Gdansk.
I want to note that you will have to pay for the fare on the Torun - Gdansk section
You can pay for the fare at the entrance to the paid section both in cash and by bank cards.
But it is possible to plan a travel route from Warsaw to Gdansk in such a way as not to pay tolls on the highways. For example, go E77 towards Olsztyn. In terms of time and mileage, it will take longer, but the quality of the road surface will not change. The tracks in Poland are in good condition.
