- Last minute tours in Russia
Even during the times of the Russian Empire, the healing power of the resorts of the Black Sea coast was known, residents of the most distant Russian provinces came to the waters, they were replaced by vacationers with trade union vouchers, then holidays on the Black Sea became truly widespread. Every year, before the buds on the trees have time to swell, holidaymakers fill their suitcases with swimsuits, shorts and flip-flops and go to improve their health and mood. However, not everything is so simple: you still need to get to the sea coast, and this is often not the closest route.
By rail you can get to almost any Black Sea resort, only in some cases you will have to change trains.
Despite the development of air travel, now, like decades ago, many vacationers prefer rail tours. The demand for trains is difficult to overestimate: vacationers planning a trip to the Black Sea coast are faced with the problem of purchasing train tickets. In popular destinations they are being snapped up like hot cakes within a few hours of going on sale. By rail you can get to almost any Black Sea resort, only in some cases you will have to change trains.
Resorts of the Krasnodar region
The railway network of the Krasnodar Territory covers all major resort towns and large villages. The railway tracks stretch along the entire Black Sea coast from Tuapse to Adler (the length of the main tracks is 2770 km); You can travel directly by train to Anapa, Novorossiysk, Sochi and many other resorts. In summer, passenger traffic increases by 3 times. If you are planning to stay in Anapa or Sochi, expect that it will take you about a day and a half to travel one way from Moscow; you can get to Gelendzhik in just over a day.

Resorts of Abkhazia
The railway running along the Black Sea coast does not end in Adler, but goes further into Abkhazia, so getting to Abkhazian resorts is no more difficult than getting to Krasnodar ones.
After the recent restoration of tracks in the village of Vesyoloye, a stable railway connection has been established between Russia and Abkhazia; now several direct trains go there: train No. 305C Moscow - Sukhum, trains No. 579B Voronezh - Sukhum and No. 479A St. Petersburg - Sukhum. Passengers go through customs and passport control directly on the train (in Abkhazia - at the Tsandripsh station), everything takes about 30 minutes, then the train enters the territory of Abkhazia. It should be noted that this is a rather slow train; it moves particularly slowly across Abkhazia, so you will have an excellent opportunity to view the surrounding nature from the windows of the train. If we speak in numbers, then the road from Moscow to Sukhum will take you about 43 hours.
Stops on the territory of Abkhazia: Tsandripsh, Gagra, Gudauta, New Athos.
During the entire holiday season, trains from Moscow to Abkhazia depart every day; from October their number is reduced to one flight every few days.
If you were unable to get tickets for the Sukhumi train, do not despair: take train tickets to Adler, from there, upon arrival, you will take a taxi, minibus or bus to the border. There, after crossing two checkpoints, you will find yourself on the territory of Abkhazia, or rather on a large area where there is a parking lot for buses, minibuses and private owners. From it there are open routes to any Abkhaz resort town.
Per day!
Black Sea Railway- the conventional name of the railway track passing along the Black Sea coast and connecting Russia and Transcaucasia.
Currently, due to the difficult political situation in Georgia and Abkhazia, the Tuapse - Adler section is called the Black Sea Railway.
The entire length of the railway runs a few meters from the shore of the Black Sea, and in some places it runs on concrete blocks laid in the sea. Only in large cities does the road go several kilometers deep into the coast. Initially, the railway was the shortest route from Russia to Transcaucasia, but now the lion's share of all transportation by road is passenger traffic. The Black Sea Railway is rightfully the main resort road of the country.
The Black Sea Railway is mainly single-track. There are about 20 tunnels and many bridges over mountain rivers. The railway is electrified with direct current of 3000 volts. Both passenger and freight trains are driven here by freight locomotives - the profile of the road does not allow the use of low-power, but high-speed passenger electric locomotives.
Section Tuapse - Adler
The Tuapse - Adler section has been actively developing in recent years - new tunnels are being reconstructed and built, double-track inserts have been laid, which has increased the road's capacity. During the holiday season, over 60 pairs of passenger, commuter and freight trains pass from Tuapse to Adler every day.
Section Adler - Sukhum
