Nha Trang is worth a visit. What to see in Nha Trang? Natural attractions of Nha Trang
Nha Trang is one of the main resorts in central Vietnam. It perfectly combines a classic beach holiday with excursions to picturesque national parks. The city is located along a wide bay surrounded by green mountains. Not far from the coast of Nha Trang, small archipelagos are scattered in the South China Sea, where lovers of secluded recreation and divers flock.
The tourist area of the city includes several streets where the main hotels, local restaurants, souvenir shops and numerous agencies are located, ready to organize excursions to anywhere in Vietnam (and if you have enough time, even to Laos and Cambodia). If you wish, you can stroll through the local colorful markets or visit the central neighborhoods where citizens live their normal lives.

What to see and where to go in Nha Trang?
The most interesting and beautiful places for walks. Photos and brief description.
In the 7th-12th centuries, the medieval principality of Champa (Chapma) existed on part of the territory of southern and central Vietnam. The Po Nagar towers on Mount Cu Lao were erected in the 10th century during the heyday of this state. Only four buildings have survived to this day. The Cham Towers are a Hindu religious complex. Until now, they are a cult place for some Vietnamese.
The cable car connects the coast of Nha Trang with Hon Tre Island, where the Vinpearl Land amusement park, popular among tourists, is located. The length of the road is more than 3 km. The design of the metal supports resembles the outlines of the Eiffel Tower (due to the beautiful night illumination, an even greater resemblance to the Parisian landmark is achieved). The cable car ride lasts 10-15 minutes. During this time, the passenger has time to admire the coast and islands.
Located on Hon Che Island, Vinpearl can be called one of the most visited attractions in the city. Hundreds of tourists go to this “land of entertainment” every day. The vast territory includes a water park, an amusement park, an aquarium and an arcade. Visitors can relax on the beaches of the local five-star hotel, dine at one of the many restaurants, and watch a colorful fountain show in the evening.
The main Buddhist complex of Khanh Hoa province and at the same time a popular attraction in Nha Trang, where all guests of the city strive to get to. The architectural dominant of the pagoda is a 14-meter statue of white Buddha, to which a long staircase of 150 steps leads. This statue can be seen from almost anywhere in the city. Inside the pedestal on which the god sits there is a temple.
The pagoda is located outside the city on a hilltop. Getting there is not so easy, since the last public transport stop is an hour and a half walk from the temple. Moreover, tourists face a long climb up the mountain. But at the end of the journey, a surprise awaits all those who dare - breathtaking views of the rice fields, mountains and green surroundings of Nha Trang.
The Catholic Church of St. Mary, which Vietnam inherited from the French colonists. The cathedral houses the residence of the Bishop of Nha Trang. The building was erected in the 1930s in the Gothic style. Its facade is decorated with pointed arches, the windows are decorated with multi-colored stained glass, and the roof is crowned with a church tower with a clock dial. Around the cathedral there is a small courtyard where statues of the Virgin Mary and Jesus are installed.
A lotus-shaped structure decorating the city embankment. The real name of the building is the Tower of Incense. Previously, on its site there was a memorial in honor of the fallen defenders of Khanh Hoa province. In 2008, partly with funds from the Vinpearl Land hotel complex, an exhibition complex was built, reminiscent in shape of a well-known flower. Its premises are used for holding various exhibitions.
The museum is located in the wing of the research institute, which was founded by A. Yersin in 1891. This scientist is highly revered in Vietnam. Many streets and educational institutions are named after him. He devoted his life to the study of bacteria - the causative agents of plague and other diseases. The museum exhibition reproduces the atmosphere of A. Yersin’s study. The collection consists of books, personal items and tools.
Long Tan is a famous Vietnamese photographer who has devoted his entire life to the art of black and white photography. In his house there is a small gallery containing a collection of photographs depicting the daily life of the Vietnamese. The master has filmed various subjects since the mid-20th century. His works are distinguished by their diversity, originality and expressiveness. You can buy the photo you like.
An entertainment complex located in the southern part of the city. The museum's exposition is located on the territory of a traditional Vietnamese house. The collection consists of 3D paintings and optical illusion rooms where you can take fun photos. The museum will be of interest to visitors with children, as the excursion is somewhat reminiscent of a fun game, during which you can immerse yourself in a magical “through the looking glass.”
A scientific institution engaged in deep sea exploration since the 1920s. The institute has an aquarium where you can see the inhabitants of the Pacific Ocean. Stingrays, moray eels, turtles and exotic fish swim in the aquariums. On the second floor there are stuffed sea creatures. Part of the exhibition is located in aquariums inside the building, the other part is in tanks outside.
The aquarium is located on one of the islands off the coast of Nha Trang. The original building of the aquarium is made in the shape of a pirate ship. Local residents nicknamed it "Neptune's Palace". Chi Nguyen was founded by a simple fisherman Le Can, who was remembered by his contemporaries for his love of nature and his country. In 1971, using his own funds, he dug a pond where he began breeding representatives of marine fauna. Over time, his collection grew into a large maritime museum.
The fortress is located about 10 km from Nha Trang. Presumably, it was built in the 18th century during the reign of one of the last emperors of independent Vietnam. Brick and marble were used in the construction of the citadel. Only part of the buildings has survived to this day, since Dien Khanh was severely damaged during the French invasion. The surviving gates and part of the walls are in a fairly neglected state.
The reserve is located on the mountain of the same name, several tens of kilometers from Nha Trang. This is a real kingdom of impenetrable green forests and misty horizons. Most of the park's territory is located at an altitude of 1600 meters above sea level, so the local climate is very different from the coastal and lowland. In the middle of the reserve on the top of the mountain stands the house-museum of Alexandre Yersin.
A visit to Yang Bay Nature Park is included in many excursion routes. It is located about an hour's drive from Nha Trang. Here tourists can admire the Yang Kan, Yang Bay and HoCho waterfalls, feed crocodiles, ride an ostrich and watch a musical performance by the local Raglai tribe. Visitors are also offered entertainment such as pig races and cockfights.
Ba Ho is a group of three waterfalls located in the vicinity of Zoklet Beach. To get to this natural attraction, you need to overcome a rather difficult road that passes through mountainous terrain. Most tourists limit themselves to visiting the first of the three waterfalls; only a few reach the last one, since only physically resilient people can overcome the path to it.
During the period of Soviet-Vietnamese friendship, monkeys were bred on this island to be sent to the USSR. Then the supplies were stopped and the animals overran the entire area. Now Monkey Island is a protected area, a real “kingdom of monkeys”, where, according to various estimates, more than 1,500 individuals live. For tourists, there are entertainment shows, cafes and restaurants, and a beach.
Almost the entire territory of Hon Mun Island is classified as a protected area and is under the auspices of the World Wildlife Fund. People come here not only to relax on the snow-white beaches. The coastal waters of Hon Mun are inhabited by amazing marine life, so all tourists who want to scuba dive and enjoy the beauty of the underwater world flock to the island.
Large spa center near the Po Nagar temple complex. It is located in a picturesque area surrounded by eucalyptus groves and flowering gardens. In Thap Ba you can spend the whole day taking healing hot baths, swimming in pools and enjoying healing treatments. Local healing mud helps with many ailments. After visiting the resort, tourists can purchase jars of this substance as a souvenir.
Another “mud bath” of Nha Trang, which is a worthy competitor to the Thap Ba springs. Visitors have access to service packages that include various procedures. A visit to I-Resort is an excellent alternative to a beach holiday, especially on a cloudy day (the water in the center’s pools is always warm). The main pool of the complex is stylized as a sea beach with white sand.
A new spa resort that opened in 2012. The complex occupies an area of 23 hectares. Here, in addition to swimming pools and hot springs, there is a botanical garden, a zoo, an impromptu ethnic village, a temple and observation decks with magnificent views. The name "100 Eggs" is associated with the legend of the love of a dragon and a magical bird. One hundred nationalities of Vietnam subsequently hatched from the eggs laid by the bird.
Hon Chong is located in the backend of Nha Trang. The cape is strewn with stones of all possible sizes and shapes. Sometimes the blocks gather into bizarre shapes, against which spectacular photographs are obtained. At the local souvenir shop you can buy a picture made from stones as a souvenir. The cape offers breathtaking views of the vast South China Sea, especially during sunrise and sunset.
Industrial salt mining is carried out in the fields of Khon Khoi. They are located about 50 km from Nha Trang near Zoklet Beach. The plantations are flooded with sea water, which evaporates within a few days and leaves snow-white crystals. After this, the salt is collected and sent for processing. The work is carried out in the morning, since salt collected in the hottest weather is considered unsuitable for consumption.
Zoklet is considered one of the best beaches in Nha Trang and the surrounding area. It is located 50 km north of the city. You can get there by taxi, bike or public transport. Tourists value this place for the beauty of the scenery, the clear sea and the opportunity to be in relative solitude, since there are usually few people here. Zoklet is ideal for families with children due to its gentle slope and shallow sea depth.
The city beach stretches for several kilometers along the sea line. It is free, but you will have to pay to rent hotel-owned sun loungers and umbrellas. Along the beach there is a stone-paved embankment with public gardens and equipped recreation areas. The ideal time for swimming is the first half of the day, as after lunch the waves rise and the water becomes cloudy.
Vietnam is one of the most popular tourist destinations today. Well-maintained beaches, a picturesque coastline, a comfortable climate, warm clean waters of the South China Sea, unique attractions - this is not a complete list of what attracts foreign guests to the resort areas of this country. Nha Trang is considered the most popular city among foreign visitors. Rapidly transformed from a fishing village into the epicenter of cultural recreation and nightlife, in modern circumstances it is ready to offer tourists a wide variety of leisure activities. Imbued with national flavor Nha Trang attractions concentrate the natural beauty of the local nature and the mastery of oriental architecture.
1. Cham Towers Po Nagar
The Cham Towers of Po Nagar are one of the most beautiful attractions in Nha Trang. The main feature of temples, built in the form of tall narrow buildings in honor of significant deities of Buddhism and Hinduism, is their age. More than ten centuries have passed since the ten towers became the religious center of the ancient kingdom called Champa. At that time, numerous ceremonies and rituals took place here, each of the towers was designated as the center of worship of a specific deity. Only four towers have survived to this day, but they continue to serve as a place for various religious celebrations and traditions. Tourists have access to the inside of the temples, but they need to be approached not from the main entrance, decorated with columns, but through a special staircase, bypassing it. Local residents and monks highly value their own historical heritage and carefully protect architectural elements from damage. The interior decoration is quite modest: an image of the main deity, a place for offerings and prayers, an altar. Due to the small area, a persistent concentration of incense and aromatic oils is felt in the air. Here the spiritual resources of energy forces are replenished.
2. Long Son Pagoda
The next attraction that a tourist must visit in Nha Trang is Long Son Pagoda. The rather poetic name hides not only an aesthetic example of Asian architecture, but also a functioning Buddhist temple. The pagoda was built at the end of the 19th century on a hilly hill. Just a few years later, strong winds caused serious damage to the structure, so it was decided to move the pagoda to a safer area. A statue of Buddha was placed on the hill, radiating constant harmony and tranquility. When visiting an attraction, it is important to follow the rules of decency: cover your shoulders and knees with clothes, leave your head uncovered. On the way to the temple, you will have a chance to clear your karma: to do this, you need to walk 144 steps. Approximately in the middle of the road, a little to the side, you can find a sculpture of a reclining Buddha. Various rituals are performed here and offerings are made. In the temple itself there is a statue of Buddha made of bronze. The walls are decorated with colorful mosaics, which fully correspond to the Asian style of interior design of religious buildings. The surrounding area is a corner where you can be alone with your thoughts. A neat garden and man-made miniature ponds create a cozy environment conducive to serene contemplation.
The architectural complex was erected in the first half of the last century. The buildings were designed by a French specialist; landscape design became the work of local professionals. The unique tandem of exquisite European sophistication and chaste oriental grace has turned the villas into an interesting landmark of Nha Trang. Initially, the imperial residence was located within these walls; later government officials preferred to relax here. Now anyone can rent a room in such a hotel. Entertainment options include walks through parks, gardens and a museum exhibition. The exhibition is presented with items from the imperial wardrobe, attributes of the everyday life of titled persons, as well as photographs depicting moments from the life of the 13th ruler of the state during the era of the monarchy. It was in honor of him that the architectural ensemble received its final name, which replaced more exalted words denoting the naming of flowers. If contemplation of beauty is not the main purpose of visiting this place, it makes sense to walk to the coastline and choose a sports activity. Here you can play tennis, dive into the depths of the sea, and rent watercraft.
4. Vinpearl Amusement Park
Vinpearl Amusement Park is the best place in Nha Trang for entertainment seekers. A grandiose amusement park with a water entertainment area and an aquarium is located on an area of 200 thousand square meters. For the comfort of vacationers, there is an area where you can have a delicious lunch, and nearby there is an opportunity to purchase memorable souvenirs for yourself and friends. You can get to the park on the island of Hon Tre by water (by speedboat, boat) or by air, by cable car. All types of entertainment are conventionally divided into extreme (roller coasters, flying bicycles, high-speed trains) and family (carousels, children's racing cars). Everyone will find fun to suit their taste. There is an area for watching 4D movies, karaoke, theater and circus on the territory. Musical performances will be an excellent bonus to an active holiday. All the water in the water park is fresh, but you won’t get a chance to miss the sea air. Vinpearl is located on the very coast, and in the immediate vicinity is a popular beach where you can swim in clear water and lie on the white sand.
5. Cable car to Hon Che Island
For fans of everything extraordinary, this path is a must on the list of must-see places in Nha Trang. The cable car, 3320 meters long, is considered the longest of all the others, the route of which runs over the surface of the sea. Travel time is 12 minutes, the ticket is purchased on the mainland and is considered valid for passage to Vinpearl. The most valuable thing you can get from this method of transportation is impressions, a storm of enthusiastic emotions. The distance to the sea surface is 60 meters. The top offers a stunning view of Nha Trang, especially if you are at altitude in the early evening hours.
6. Catholic Cathedral
Almost in the very center of the city, on a significant natural elevation, is located one of the most beautiful religious attractions of Nha Trang, the architectural style of which can be attributed to Gothic. Catholic services take place here, invariably attracting many local parishioners. St. Mary's Cathedral is open only during certain hours, but this does not prevent you from viewing the landmark from the façade at any time. The external appearance and internal furnishings make a strong impression of monumentality and grandeur. The main decoration outside is the statues of Jesus and the Virgin Mary, inside there are original mosaics on the walls and many fresh flowers. The building was built in the 30s of the last century. After three bells, a tower clock and a cross were installed, the cathedral was consecrated and services began to take place.
7. Chi Nguyen Aquarium
Having made a short trip from Nha Trang to the Southern Islands, you can clearly see what a grandiose result the desire to follow your dream and favorite business leads to. The history of the construction of original aquariums and reservoirs for marine life begins with the idea of a local fisherman who immensely loved the sea and his occupation. This man invested his savings in the construction of grandiose tanks where large sea predators, small harmless fish, as well as turtles and stingrays could comfortably live. At first, tourists see a ship in front of them, as if straight out of an epic movie about pirates. To see the aquariums, you need to walk along all the decks. This is a non-trivial setting for creating unique photographs.
8. Museum of Oceanography
Another place that would be interesting for tourists to visit in Nha Trang is the Museum of Oceanography. An exhibition providing comprehensive information about the fauna of the South China Sea is located within the walls of the research institute. Within the borders of Southeast Asia, it is the largest establishment of its kind. It was not until 2005 that the center was recognized as a national landmark. The status allowed those who wished to freely visit the halls and view amazing finds from the bottom of the ocean, some of which are of considerable age. It will be interesting to look at the skeleton of a whale: its dimensions do not fit into the standard ideas about this mammal. The total number of exhibits is 60 thousand. Some specimens of the animal world are presented in the form of stuffed animals, others are placed in vessels filled with an alcohol solution. There is a library at the museum.
9. Hon Lao Monkey Island
Hon Lao Monkey Island is one of the hot tourist spots in Nha Trang. An exciting trip to the kingdom of Nature, where dexterous monkeys rule, begins 20 km from the city, at the pier. There you can buy a ferry ticket and within a quarter of an hour you can wander along the paths in the protected park. The space is inhabited by approximately 1,500 monkeys, all of them demonstrate a peaceful disposition and are happy to make contact. Feeding the animals is allowed, but you should be careful and keep valuables close to you. Circus performances involving large predators are regularly organized. Outside the reserve there is a cozy beach and many restaurants with varied cuisine. An outdoor amusement park will allow you to spend time with excitement. For those who wish to extend their vacation on the island, comfortable hotel accommodation options are available.
10. Thap Ba mud spring
An excellent place in Nha Trang where you can find complete relaxation, enjoy peace, and plunge into a healing atmosphere, literally and figuratively, is the wellness center. Only four kilometers separate it from the resort center, but this is enough to completely forget about the hustle and bustle, emotional unrest and surges of adrenaline from the surrounding novelty and exoticism. The range of treatments includes mud baths, swimming in the pool and jacuzzi. Charcot shower has a tonic effect, and gentle hydromassage has a relaxing effect. There is a waterfall on site, as well as several places where you can have a tasty snack or enjoy a cold drink after a set of healthy activities.

We worship the four deities of Po Nagar
The Cham Towers of Po Nagar are another popular attraction that you can see in Nha Trang on your own. Of the 8 legendary Po Nagar towers, only 4 have survived to this day, but seeing such a miracle up close is worth a lot. The age of the buildings is very ancient; it is not for nothing that the towers rightfully occupy 1st place in the register of historical relics of Vietnam.
The history of the Principality of Champa goes back to the 7th century. During the heyday of this medieval Cham family, unusual towers dedicated to the Hindu religion were erected.
You can come to the temple complex in any clothes, but you can enter the temple only in the appropriate form: barefoot, with your head uncovered, with your shoulders and knees covered. But don’t worry about your appearance, you will be given a free robe at the entrance.
The powerful architectural monument looks majestic, especially the tallest tower, erected in honor of the Mother Queen and the 10-armed goddess Uma crowning its top.
The unique Cham Po Nagar towers leave an indelible impression and are full of special energy that makes you think about the history of not only Vietnam, but the entire earthly civilization.

Museums in Nha Trang
If you don't know what to do in Nha Trang when it rains, then I want to bring to your attention 3 interesting museums that will not make you yawn. You can find all the mentioned Nha Trang museums on the map.
Museum of Impressions
The Museum of Impressions in Nha Trang is an old restored four-story Vietnamese-Chinese house with a very authentic flavor. There are many exhibits and installations with which you can take illusion photographs. In one room you will walk on the ceiling, in another you will turn into a pretty Vietnamese girl, you can feed fish and turtles, walk along a steep bridge over an abyss and much more in the same spirit.
Now a few words about the sad. Many of the museum's exhibits are old and shabby, the rooms are small and very stuffy. Air conditioning is only on the second floor. You can also have a delicious meal in the cafe there. Reviews about the Nha Trang interactive museum are very varied: some like it, others can’t wait to run away.
How to get there: You can get to the interactive museum by a free bus from the Russian Information Center. You will be taken back in the same way.
The gallery is open from 9:00 to 21:00, located at: Buu Đoa – 10
Silk gallery
Another way to keep yourself busy during the rain in Nha Trang is to visit the local silk museum. Here you will find many silk products and paintings that seem to glow from within due to the smoothness of the silk thread. By and large, the silk museum in Nha Trang is a store where you can come, look at the exhibits, learn the history of the shop, see how silk products are made and buy something for yourself. The entrance is free.
The gallery is open from 7.30 to 22 hours.
You will find her by the address: 64 Tran Phu

Oceanographic Museum of Nha Trang
The Oceanographic Museum in Nha Trang is a pleasant annex to the Institute of Oceanography, founded in 1922. It was recognized as the first Scientific Research Center of Vietnam.
The building is old and, like any institute, is poorly funded. This is noticeable in the persistent Soviet spirit and time-worn exhibits and old aquariums with green water.
Here you will see small sharks, deadly puffer fish, lionfish, crabs and a lot of other colorful fish. Particularly impressive is the skeleton of a humpback whale (3 m high and 26 m long), which the Vietnamese reverence as a sacred animal. When a whale washes up on the shore, it is buried in the ground for several years, after which the skeleton is taken out and a temple is built in its honor. You can learn this and other interesting stories about fish if you take a guide.
Many people love the museum at the Institute of Oceanography in Nha Trang for the beautiful view it offers of the port and the cable car to Vinpearl. Many people come here when it rains in Nha Trang and there is nothing to do.
How to get to the Oceanographic Museum: take bus number 4 to Vinpearl, which is nearby.
Address: 1 Cau Da, Nha Trang, Vietnam
Admission ticket: 20-40,000 dong depending on the season.
Alexandre Yersin Museum
Alexander Yersin (in various sources Yersin) is a microbiologist. He came to Vietnam in his youth to treat horses, and remained to live in the country. This man identified the microbe that causes bubonic plague.
Currently, Dr. Yersin's library and his office have been turned into a popular museum. By and large, if you don’t know French and have little interest in science, then you won’t be very interested. There are Yersin's personal belongings here: letters, microscopes, test tubes, books and photographs.
It’s worth coming here if you want to take a look at the life of the great scientist. And the place where the museum is located is very beautiful.
The museum is located at: 8 - 10 Tran Phu St | In the Pasteur Institute
You can get there by taxi or by bike. The road itself is worth a lot. Imagine 30 km on an asphalt road in the middle of an impassable jungle. Along the way you will see waterfalls and a mountain river. If you're lucky, you'll be able to drive through the clouds. At the top there is a very beautiful view of the mountains. By the way, you can live here for only 200,000 dong.
Entrance to the Yersin Museum costs 28,000 VND.
Opening hours on weekdays: 07:30-11:00 and 14:00-16:30, on Saturday: 08:00-11:00
The Legacy of the Fisherman Le Caen
In 1971, a simple fisherman living on one of the islands near Nha Trang picked up a shovel and dug a pond. In the resulting pond, he began collecting a natural aquarium of exotic marine life. From this idea the famous Nha Trang Aquarium - Chi Nguyen, which is stunning with its appearance alone.
A whole line of associations immediately appeared in my head: The Flying Dutchman, Pirates of the Caribbean, novels by Jules Verne and other maritime legends. The Vietnamese nicknamed the giant aquarium " Neptune's Palace“, and we spent almost 3 hours admiring the magnificent collection of fish and marveling at the wild imagination of the architects: unusual, picturesque and very colorful.
How to get to the Chi Nguyen Island Aquarium on your own: rent a boat at the pier for $25 (round trip). Or you can visit the aquarium as part of a standard tour of the southern islands.
Admission ticket: 90,000 VND + if you want to visit the beach, 3 dollars for entrance and sunbed.
Here you can buy a large bag of food for 20,000 VND and feed local fish and giant turtles from a fishing rod. Many people like the Navy SEAL Show. I recommend visiting this attraction of Nha Trang with children, they will be delighted.
Mud baths of Nha Trang
Nha Trang is famous for its mud baths and spas. The most popular of them are: 100 eggs, Thap Ba and IResort hot springs.
100 eggs of Nha Trang: a love story between a dragon and a miracle bird
The good-natured people of Vietnam are very fond of fairy tales. One of the old legends was told to us at the moment when we declared a “day of spa tenderness” for ourselves.
Five years ago, the newest spa resort was opened on a vast area of more than 20 hectares. The complex gathered on its square: a greenhouse of lush Asian vegetation, houses and enclosures for animals, a Vietnamese village stylized as old oriental settlements, a beautiful temple, observation rooms for lovers of outlandish landscapes.
The sign says: “100 Egg Mud Bath”; it got its name in honor of the story about the passionate love of a dragon for a strange bird. The fruit of the legendary passion was 100 eggs, and from them 100 peoples of Vietnam were born.
Prices from 6 to 25 dollars depending on the range of services.
How to get there:
- On the already familiar bus number 4, stop at the port of Vinpearl.
- On the free bus from Diamond Bay, he passes 100 eggs several times a day. You can catch the bus at the Nha Trang Center shopping center, on the embankment in the city center.
- On a special transfer from the mud baths. You can order it at your hotel or any travel agency. Price for everything is 4 dollars.
Improve your health in the Thap Ba mud baths
Before plunging into the cycle of excursions, the range of which in Nha Trang will amaze even the most advanced tourist, we decided to have a relaxing day at the famous Thap Ba mud bath. It is difficult to describe in words the delight and pleasure that we experienced in this place, but an unequivocal verdict - you must definitely experience it for yourself.
My husband and I, like little children, frolicked under the stream of water saturated with mineral salts, lay in the jacuzzi, smeared mud on each other and then swam with ecstasy in the pool with mineral water. The aromas of eucalyptus and flowering exotic plants magically complement the overall picture.
After Thap Ba, you get the feeling that you have thrown off all the burden of worries and problems that you brought with you on vacation. Relaxation worthy of the attention of the Gods, that’s what my husband said about this place, and I completely agree with him.
Thap Ba is located 15 minutes from the center of Nha Trang at the address: No. 15 Ngoc Son, Ngoc Hiep.
Opening hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Because the place is very popular, I advise you to come from 12 to 15 hours, at this time there are the least people.
How to get there:
- Again, the most tourist route 4 bus, stop at the Po Nagar towers, and then walk 2.5 km.
- Or by transfer from Thap Ba. You can order it at the hotel reception, they will arrange everything for you. Cost 1.5 dollars.
Later we also visited I-Resort, another corner of Nha Trang, full of warm pools, therapeutic mud, and providing a whole range of body-pleasant treatments. I would not compare 2 mud baths, if only because each of these places is full of its own charms.
Zoclet Beach and its surroundings
We took a separate voyage towards the popular beach of Nha Trang – Zoklet or Doklet, as you prefer. Here, in the salt fields of Nha Trang “Hon Khoi”, the Vietnamese “snow queen” creates bizarre creations from snow-white salt crystals.
It is impossible to get snow in Vietnam in winter, but the salt fields flooded with sea water are very similar to the palaces of the ice goddess, only the material for creating miracle palaces is salt that has dried under the hot sun.
Vietnamese women extract salt from these fields from January to June. It takes about an hour to get here from the center of Nha Trang, Khon Khoi is on the way to Zoklet beach. Many photographers come here to take beautiful pictures.
We did not ignore trio of waterfalls Ba Kho (Baho). True, we only had the patience to get to know one of the water brothers; we were too lazy to get to the others along the difficult mountain road. A trip to Doklet beach is suitable for lovers of extreme sports and exotic things.
Nha Trang is the most popular tourist resort in Vietnam. Basically, this is a hotel holiday, and many people come here on tour packages. I know that independent travelers turn up their noses at Nha Trang, saying there are a lot of tourists, no real Vietnam, just eating cheap fruit and frying on the beaches. But they don't notice the opportunities that are opening up.
Why Nha Trang?
Firstly, if you are traveling for less than 2 weeks, then buying a ticket is often cheaper than going on your own. The fact is that the overwhelming majority of costs are expensive air tickets from Russia. And secondly, Nha Trang is an excellent base from which it is convenient to see the whole of central Vietnam.
If you like a comfortable tourist holiday, then it’s a sin for you to once again weigh your head with the question of where to go to Vietnam - Nha Trang is the best choice.
The infrastructure is well developed here, there are many shops and restaurants. The food is delicious and cheap. There are many good beaches nearby.
When is the best time to go to Nha Trang?
From September to December (and sometimes plus or minus a month) the rainy season reigns in Nha Trang. This does not mean that it rains here around the clock. In a month, during the rainy season, water pours from the sky 30-50% of the days. It is also more windy at this time and storms are more frequent.
The most ideal month is February. The rainy season has already ended, but the heat has not yet arrived. Starting in March, the temperature gradually increases. From May to August there is practically no rain. And the sea is always warm.

Prices in Nha Trang
For most people, the money issue is one of the most interesting, and therefore I will not drag it out.
Nha Trang is very diverse, and your costs will depend on your capabilities and personal accounting skills. You can live more or less comfortably for 10 dollars/day per person, if you don’t tighten your belt, then 23 dollars/day, but anything higher is higher.
How to organize your holiday in Nha Trang?
There are 2 standard options: on your own or with a package. It all depends on how much you are willing to bother with the upcoming trip, and of course, on the price.
See price statistics for tours below. Here you can select your departure city and find out which dates are the cheapest to fly on. The lowest prices are usually for tours from Moscow. If you live in the eastern part of our country, then check prices from local tour operators. For example, tours to Nha Trang from Irkutsk are cheaper to buy in Irkutsk. For the western part of the country there is not much difference, you can safely buy online, this way you have a better chance of saving.
If you want to go on your own, then you need to buy and book (if you buy a tour, they will do this for you). If you are flying for more than 15 days, then you need a Vietnam visa.
Flights to Nha Trang
Direct flights to Nha Trang from Russia are a rare beast. You can still find them in Moscow, or fly on a charter from a travel agency. All other options require transfers. But this is not bad; sitting on a plane for more than 10 hours at a time is very tiring.
See the table below for prices for flights to Nha Trang. It is interactive, by default the departure is from Moscow, but you can customize everything for yourself.
Insurance to Vietnam
I advise you to take out insurance for Nha Trang and, in general, always take out insurance before traveling. This is the same case when a stingy person can pay not even twice, but several dozen times more. In addition, insurance is an inexpensive thing, it all depends on the options chosen.

Our review will briefly tell you about the main attractions of Nha Trang. When compiling our rating of what every tourist should see in Nha Trang, we took into account reviews from travelers and recommendations from Vietnamese guides.
What to see first in Nha Trang
It would take forever to list all the interesting places in Nha Trang. Therefore, we bring to your attention only those best attractions of Nha Trang with which your trip will be truly memorable and educational:
1. Long Son Pagoda
A 14-meter statue of a Seated Buddha made of white stone on a lotus flower at the foot of Trai Tuy Mountain
It is usually recommended to start exploring the city by visiting the Temple of the White Buddha. The date of creation (and restoration) of the attraction is the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th centuries. In front of the pagoda there is a square with well-groomed flower beds and stone obelisk steles. You can climb to the temple by climbing about 150 steps. The path to the top, where the 14-meter white Buddha rises, can be done by bike. Behind the statue there is an entrance to the temple. The Long Son complex also includes a beautiful bell tower with a large bell inside.
2. Suoi Do Pagoda
Suoi Do Pagoda and the green surroundings of Nha Trang
The temple is located on a hill outside the city. Be prepared for the fact that your trip and further hike to the pagoda (including uphill) will be quite long. But you should definitely explore such sights of Nha Trang. From the top you can look at the greenery of the city, the slopes and endless rice fields.
3. Nha Trang Cathedral
Statues of the Virgin Mary and Jesus in the outer courtyard of Nha Trang Cathedral vinhtantran
Multi-colored stained glass windows inside Nha Trang Cathedral Hoangvantoanajc
The building is located in the central part of the city on a slight slope. Construction work was carried out at a time when the state was a French colony - in the mid-20th century. You can climb to the temple by stairs. In front of the entrance to the cathedral you can see statues of St. Our Lady and Jesus. The interior decoration is represented by beautiful stained glass windows and numerous wooden benches. Several hundred believers can be present in the temple at the same time.
4. Cable car to Hon Che Island
Magnificent seascape from the cable car cabins from the coast of Nha Trang to Hon Tre Island
A metal structure connects the shores of the city with the island of Hon Che, on which the famous entertainment complex Vinpearl is located. The length of the cable car, illuminated with multi-colored lights in the evening, is over three kilometers. The journey over the waters lasts about 12 minutes, enough to take great photos and look at the islands and shores of Nha Trang.
5. Chi Nguyen Aquarium
The building of the Chi Nguyen Oceanarium in the shape of a pirate ship on the shores of the picturesque Bruce Tuten Bay
View of marine life through the glass tunnel of the Chi Nguyen Newone Oceanarium
An excellent option for what to visit in Nha Trang with the whole family. The building is shaped like a ship moored to the coast. The maritime museum was opened thanks to a local wealthy fisherman - he allocated the necessary funds from his own budget. The complex consists of several separate artificial reservoirs. In one of the zones there are predatory inhabitants of the seas and oceans, in the other two there are exotic fish and “calm” inhabitants of the waters. Guests of the aquarium are allowed to feed the fish. Aquariums are located on several levels of the building along the ship decks.

If you don’t know where to go in Nha Trang with children, come to this famous amusement park. On the territory there is an equipped beach, a water park with various water attractions, an aquarium, dolphinariums, and an area with slot machines. As we have already said, you can get to Vinpearl by cable car.
7. Lotus Tower
A structure in the shape of a flower made of soft pink petals on the embankment of Nha Trang
What to see in Nha Trang in 1 day for fans of modern architecture? A building made in the shape of a lotus flower, which is a real decoration of the city embankment. Previously, there was a memorial complex in its place. The tower houses an exhibition center with permanent and temporary exhibitions on various topics.
8. Alexandre Yersin Museum
Letters, commemorative medal of the French scientist-bacteriologist in the Alexandre Yersin Museum Walej
The complex is located on the territory of a research center created at the end of the 18th century by Yersin. It should be noted that many educational institutions and streets in Nha Trang are named after the scientist who devoted himself to the study of deadly bacteria. The exhibition simulates the working environment of a researcher’s office. Samples include Yersin's tools, personal effects and literature.
9. Institute of Oceanography
A gigantic whale skeleton at the Nha Trang Oceanographic Institute Lưu Ly
The staff of the institute, founded in 1920, are busy studying the sea. The establishment houses an aquarium with exotic fish, huge turtles, sharks and stingrays in its aquariums. On the second floor of the maritime museum there are halls with stuffed aquatic inhabitants. Part of the collection of exhibits is located in ponds on the street, partly inside the complex.
10. Dien Khanh Citadel
The preserved front gate and part of the walls of the old Dien Khanh citadel of the 18th century Vinhtantran
The approximate date of construction of the defensive structure is the 18th century. Marble and brick were used to create the fortress. Currently, only a small part of the citadel has survived, including dilapidated walls and gates. But they too are in a rather neglected “historical” state. The object was damaged by the actions of the French army.
11. Eco-Park Yang Bay
Giant tree with ribbons of Ragla people in Yang Bay Eco-National Park in Nha Trang
A trip to this wonderful natural complex is recommended by all guides in Nha Trang. The park is located an hour's drive from the city. Guests can enjoy all sorts of entertainment, from cockfights and pig races to Raglai music, alligator feeding and ostrich rides. There are several waterfalls in Yang Bay Park.
12. Ba Ho Waterfall
One of the three levels of Ba Ho waterfall in the tropical jungle of central Vietnam
The natural attraction is located near Zoklet beach. The path to it is quite difficult and runs among the mountains. Ba HoBa Ho includes several waterfalls. Many travelers explore only the first one, since the remaining two are located in the distance.
13. Hon Mun Island
The unique natural landscape of Hon Mun Island Nguyen Hung Vu
The island reserve is a huge success among fans of scuba diving. Since the waters washing it are crystal clear, and the shores are strewn with numerous coral reefs. Rocks with underwater caves (Madonna Rock) are considered ideal points for those who want to dive to the bottom. The local fauna is rich and varied: starfish and skates, clown fish and octopuses are found here. You can get to the island by renting a boat. The best weather conditions for diving enthusiasts are from May to September.
14. Monkey Island
Monkey on the seashore on Monkey Island
This amazing island is on all “top” lists. It is located a couple of tens of kilometers from the center of Nha Trang, and in previous years served as the location of a scientific center for the study of monkeys. Due to the fact that the center belonged to the authorities of the USSR, after the collapse of the Soviet Union it officially ceased to exist. Many primates were taken from the island, others fled into the local forest. Currently, about one and a half thousand animals live in natural conditions on the territory of this nature reserve. Their guests should be extremely careful: the animals are not afraid of people, and are happy to snatch bags, smartphones and other items from them. It is not easy to return what is lost. It is also worth visiting the reserve for the amusement park, beach, landscaped garden and oriental circus (there is no need to buy additional tickets, their price is included in the price of tickets for a holiday on the island). Hydro scooters and boats can be rented. You can get to your destination by ferry.
15. Complex I-Resort
Top view of the territory of the I-Resort complex in Nha Trang
The famous city mud bath, offering its guests a variety of health and beauty treatments. Services are provided comprehensively (in packages). A visit to I-Resort can be recommended to anyone who is tired of an ordinary beach holiday. There are especially many visitors here in cloudy weather. Since the hospital includes several pools with heated water, the main one is designed in the form of a beach line with snow-white sand.
Sights of Nha Trang: what else to visit in Nha Trang?
If you have already seen all those attractions of Nha Trang, photos with names and descriptions of which we included in this review, do not worry. The list of fascinating places does not come to an end:
16. Khon Khoi Salt Plantations
Salt miners in the early morning at the Khon Khoi salt plantations
On plantations located near Zoklet beach (and 50 km from the city), salt is extracted on an industrial scale. The fields are filled with salty sea water, which evaporates within a couple of days, leaving behind only white crystals. The salt collected in the early morning hours is sent for processing. At the height of the day, work to collect it is not carried out, because... “daytime” crystals are considered unsuitable for use.
17. Nha Trang Beach
Nha Trang city beach stretches for several kilometers along the sea line
The length of the beach line is several kilometers. You can sunbathe and swim here completely free of charge. But if you want to use umbrellas or sun loungers, you will still have to pay for them. Along the coastline there is an embankment lined with stone. After you have visited everything, come here to relax and unwind. The beach is visited and crowded.
18. Zoklet Beach
Thanks to its gentle slope and shallow sea depth, Zoklet beach is suitable for families with children
One of the most beautiful and secluded beaches in Nha Trang. It is located fifty kilometers from the city in its northern part. You can get to Zoklet not only by bike or taxi, but also by public transport. The area is famous for its magnificent scenery. The waters are crystal clear and transparent. We can recommend a holiday here to those who want to spend time in peace and quiet. And also for tourists with children: the depth is shallow, the descent into the sea is gentle.
19. Cham Towers Po Nagar

20. Cape Hong Chong
Hon Chong Rock Garden is a popular tourist attraction in Nha Trang city in Vietnam.
The attraction is located in the north of the city. Hon Chong is covered with stones of all shapes and sizes. Often these stones create original figures, against which tourists love to take pictures. Local souvenir shops offer memorable paintings made from pebbles. At sunset and dawn, the cape offers incredible views of the waters of the South China Sea.
