Transport at Antalya Airport
Due to the fact that Antalya Airport is a very busy airport, it was important to carefully approach the issue of transport. Luckily, the airport offers a variety of transportation options.
Antalya's historic city center is only 20 minutes away by car. It is easily accessible via the D400 highway, also known as "Gazi Bulvan".
There is a large selection of types of transport at the airport, so you can choose transport to suit every taste and budget. The cost of traveling from the airport to a specific location depends on the distance and the type of transport.
Buses, taxis, transfers and car rentals - all this is available at Alanya Airport. If you bought a package tour from a travel agency, then you do not need to worry about transportation. Unless you want to get to the hotel as quickly as possible or just take a ride on more convenient transport.
Taxis can be seen near the airport at any time of the day. Although the usual cost of a taxi trip to Antalya city center is about $15, taxi drivers try to charge Russian tourists at least $30. If you want to take a taxi to Belek, Side, Alanya or Kemer, the cost of such a trip will be quite high, even if you can reduce the price during the auction.
It seems to us that it would be more profitable to order a transfer in advance. The cost of the trip in this case may be noticeably lower than the cost of a taxi ride. Companies that offer airport transfers have their own websites where you can see the cost of a trip to any resort area.
It seems to us that the best option for booking a transfer from Antalya Airport to one of the resorts is to use the website of the well-known international company "Kiwi Taxi". This company has been offering tourists relatively inexpensive transfers in different countries of the world for several years now.
You can order a transfer right now and be sure that the car will be waiting for you near the airport at the appointed time.
The most inexpensive way to get from Antalya Airport to your desired resort is by bus. True, almost no one uses this method, since few people want to travel on public transport with suitcases. In addition, to get to many resorts, you need to make at least one transfer. Buses from the airport to Antalya city center run every 20 minutes during the summer months between 06:00 and 01:00.

Arrivals area
The arrival area at Antalya Airport is a very busy place, especially during the summer months when the airport receives a very large number of tourists from all over the world. Antalya Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world and handles millions of passengers every year. Despite this, passengers, as a rule, go through passport control very quickly and leave the airport with their luggage within a few minutes after arrival.
Once you arrive at Antalya Airport, the procedures are quite simple. You will simply need to show your passport at the passport control area, where your passport will be stamped indicating that you have entered Turkey. After passing through passport control, you can proceed to the baggage claim area. The flight number will be indicated above each carousel, so all you have to do is wait for your luggage near “your” carousel.
Once you have collected your luggage, you will need to go to your tour operator's counter, which is located just outside the airport exit. Here, a representative of the tour operator will tell you the number of the bus on which you will go to your hotel.
If you went on vacation on your own, and not through a tour operator, you will need to get to the hotel on your own. You can use a bus, taxi or transfer.
Departure area
Unlike the arrival area, the departure area at Antalya Airport is almost always a rather noisy and crowded place with tourists. Queues will be waiting for you everywhere here, but in general, all procedures can be completed relatively quickly.
As soon as you enter the airport, you will most likely be immediately waiting in line at the entrance in front of the security checkpoint. Once you have been screened, you will need to go to the check-in counter where you will check-in for your flight. Electronic signs are everywhere in this room, so you can quickly figure out which check-in counter you need to go to. Once you have checked in for your flight and checked in your luggage, you will need to go through airport security and passport control. Although you'll likely see long lines here too, don't be discouraged—all of these procedures can usually be completed in a few minutes.
After completing all these procedures, you will be taken to the flight waiting area. There are many restaurants, cafes, duty-free shops and other establishments. So you can pass the time before your flight.
Don't forget to keep an eye on the scoreboard, as sometimes the gate number may change at the last moment.
Duty Free shops at Antalya Airport
One of the advantages of traveling by air is the opportunity to purchase goods in a Duty Free store. The duty free shops at Antalya Airport have a fairly wide selection of goods. One of the best ways to pass the time before a flight is to go Duty Free shopping. It is possible that you will end up wanting to buy something from one of these stores.
There are Duty Free shops at Antalya Airport both in the departure and arrival areas. In these stores you can buy high-quality alcohol, cigarettes and cigars, perfumes and cosmetics, sweets, as well as small souvenirs at relatively low prices.
In the departure area you will find several different Duty Free shops, some of which will even be located next to the departure gate.
Below is a brief overview of the various Duty Free shops located at Antalya Airport.
In the arrivals area, the Duty Free store offers a large selection of confectionery, cosmetics, perfumes, spirits and tobacco.
In the departure area, as we have already said, there are several shops. Here are all their names:
Duty Free Store: the largest store with the widest selection of products.
Duty Free Express: cosmetics, perfumes, spirits and tobacco.
Master Of Time: jewelry and watches.
Style Studio: Fashion items including bags and jewelry.
Sun Catcher: a wide range of sunglasses.
Temptation: jewelry, bags and watches.
Toys And Sweets: toys and sweets.
Turkish ID: mostly Turkish souvenirs.
Overall, Antalya Airport is a fairly modern airport, but of course the number of tourists here can sometimes be overwhelming.
It is worth noting that in the departure area there is a special room for smokers, which overlooks the runway.
TOURISTS' ANSWERS:
And so, the advantages.
First. Not entirely a plus, but I’ll include this point here. In the Alanya region, the season begins faster and a comfortable temperature for relaxation remains longer, since the region is the southernmost. But, if you are going on vacation at the beginning of the season, for example, in May, it may be better to choose Kemer - the air temperature will perhaps be a little lower, but there will be no wind (I was convinced of this in May of this year). But if you are going on vacation at the end of the season, then definitely choose Alanya - it will be dry and warm here.
Second. Compared to other regions, Alanya offers a fairly budget holiday. Of course, there are cheap hotels in every resort in Turkey, but the question is their quality. As for me, Alanya has a large selection of cheap and normal hotels, for example: Arabella World Hotel 4*, Club Tropical Beach Hotel 4*, Inova Beach Hotel 4*, Ananas Hotel 4* - these are the hotels that I liked more everything, and their price is affordable (close to the sea, private beaches).
Third. Beaches. I will classify this point as both a plus and a minus. On the plus side, Alanya's beaches are some of the best in Turkey. But not all. The most famous is Cleopatra Beach - sand. Entrance here is free, but sunbeds and umbrellas in many hotels will be paid. Another nuance: there are a lot of people, locals often like to relax here. I personally would advise you to choose Incekum beach (translated as “fine sand”) - perfect sand, gentle entry into the sea. Nearby hotels are Arabella World Hotel 4*, Alala Kum Hotel 5*, Pegasos 4* and 5*.
Of course, one of the advantages is the well-developed infrastructure outside the hotels, but this will not be an advantage compared to other resorts, since the infrastructure is everywhere. And I would still advise very active young people to choose hotels in the center of Kemer.
Now the cons.
The first thing and what, as a rule, most deters tourists from traveling to Alanya is the distance from the airport. From Anatlia to Alanya the drive is approximately 100 km (depending on the hotel chosen). That is, the transfer takes at least three hours (the last time we were picked up from the Utopia World Hotel 5* 5 hours before departure). This is of course very inconvenient, especially for tourists traveling with small children.
Second. As I said, I will include the “beach” item as a minus. Yes, the beaches are mostly sand, but you also need to pay attention to the entries into the sea - there are slabs and stones. Bring this to the attention of your travel agent when you plan to come here, since the beach will be sandy, yes, but going into the sea without special shoes or, if you are with small children, will be difficult in some hotels.
Third. Lack of greenery. But this will be a minus compared to the resorts of Kemer and Belek (in Side, for example, there are even fewer green ones). But greenery is found here too. The Avsalar region, for example, has pine forests.
Who should vacation in Alanya? Perhaps everyone. That is, a large selection of hotels for children's holidays, for families, romantic, youth and for high-quality elite. The main thing is to choose the right hotel and region. Of course, it is better for young people to choose those hotels that will be located closer to the city center, close to all active entertainment and discos. For families and tourists with children, I advise you to choose Konakli, Avsallar (this is where Incekum beach will be).
Regarding the security of the region. I don't see any dangers here. While vacationing here, I rarely used taxi services or hotel transfers to, for example, get to the center of Alanya. Public transport is cheap and quite safe. Walking in the evening in the cities of the region is also safe, there are many tourists everywhere, no one sleeps. Of course, you should follow basic rules: if you are a girl and walk outside the hotel on your own or with a friend, then it is better to try to be discreet in your clothes and not walk in some remote areas.
Bottom line. Is it worth going to Alanya? Costs! The main thing is to choose the right region and hotel, so that your vacation meets your expectations.
Is the answer helpful?
Alanya is a relatively small town (up to 90,000 people) located near Antalya at the foot of the picturesque Taurus Mountains. The main advantage of this resort is its distance from the cold sea currents of the Mediterranean and Aegean seas, and the mountains protect the city from the cold wind from the north. This means that the sea here is warm from May, sometimes even from the end of April until the end of October. The air temperature in late autumn does not drop below +15 degrees.
Compared to other resorts in Turkey, Alanya and its suburbs (for example, Mahmutlar) offer cheaper hotels and apartments on the seashore near the beach. It will be good there with children: the beaches are sandy, they are small, there are many of them. The coastline is a continuous beach, occasionally interrupted by beautiful rocks. One of these rocks is located in the center of Alanya, on which there is an ancient fortress and an observation deck with a spectacular cliff right around it. Good shops, life is more relaxed.
In any country, a tourist needs to be attentive and careful, especially when it comes to any strange offers and situations. This has not been canceled in Alanya either. However, the general atmosphere of the region is peaceful and welcoming. Even a lonely girl should not be afraid to go on vacation to Alanya.

Alanya is the southernmost resort on the Antalya coast of Turkey. Suitable for recreation of all categories of tourists, there are hotels of both economy class and high level. You can come here for a hotel holiday, or you can get together with a group and go to discos every evening. There is so much to be found in this region.
Pros of holidays in Alanya
1. Due to its geographical location, the season in Alanya opens earlier than other cities in Turkey. Already from May, you can come here for the warm sun and sea baths.
2. Pricing policy of this region. You can get to Alanya on a last minute trip for very little money. Compared to other places, it is the most economical to vacation here, both in terms of the cost of the tour and in terms of vacation in general.
3. Alanya city center has a well-developed infrastructure. It will satisfy the needs of any tourist; there are a huge number of shops, markets, restaurants, nightclubs, discos, and a wonderful embankment for evening walks.
4. This region is rich in excellent sandy beaches, which makes it extremely attractive for families with children.
5. Large selection of hotels of any star rating.
Disadvantages of holidays in Alanya
1. Distance from Antalya Airport. The drive to Alanya takes about 2-3 hours, but after a several-hour flight it may seem a bit difficult. In the future, they want to build an airport near Alanya.
2. The Alanya region is not very rich in nature when compared with Kemer or Belek.
3. At the peak hour of summer - in August, it is not at all comfortable to relax here. High humidity and air temperature +40, the Mediterranean Sea during this period becomes like fresh milk, you can only take refuge in a hotel under air conditioning.
However, despite the disadvantages, a huge number of tourists from different countries come to Alanya every year. Most of them are those who chose Turkey for a holiday for the first time and do not have a lot of money for a vacation.
