In general, Hamburg is a city of contrasts. Historically, Hamburg is divided into the Old and New Towns, separated by the Alsterfleet Canal. The Trost-Brücke Bridge runs over the canal - from here you have an excellent view of the main attractions of the center: the Town Hall, the oldest stock exchange in Germany and the remains of the medieval Church of St. Nicholas, bombed during the Second World War, now an anti-war memorial.

Lubeck was founded in 1143. Already a few decades after its foundation, Lubeck had fortress walls, streets and blocks of houses, piers, churches, city government, city laws and soon became the center of the Hanseatic (trading) league and a free city. Lubeck was traditionally built not from wood, but from baked brick, so much of it has been preserved in its original form. We will start the tour at the City Square, see the Town Hall, the Cathedral of the Lübeck Bishopric, and the Church of St. James. Most of the buildings are built in the brick Gothic style, which gives the city a special charm, coupled with a mass of flower beds and green vegetation. Let's also see the Hospital of the Holy Spirit, the Church of St. Mary, the Church of St. James. If you wish, you can visit museums of various subjects and small churches. In general, the streets of Lubeck are so picturesque and original, you can walk around the city simply admiring the architecture and listening to the guide’s entertaining stories. You will see the oldest building in the city, built back in 1283, and the world-famous Holstein Gate of the 15th century - their image adorned the 50 German mark banknote, and the Church of St. Mary (14th century) - with the largest church organ in the world. What is the devil doing near the temple? Let's find out the urban legend about this and take a photo holding the devil's horns! The architectural ensemble of the town hall is unique; the interior decoration of the premises is striking in its richness. The Hospital of the Holy Spirit (13th century) is unique - the world's first non-church hospital-shelter for the poor; it is definitely worth taking a walk through the neighborhoods where ordinary people lived. You won’t see such cozy medieval courtyards and unique gangas (passages), where few people can pass without bending down, anywhere else! Did you know that even Napoleon praised Lübeck's Bordeaux? How did this northern city, where no grapes grow, manage to have its own wine? And the famous Lübeck marzipan? Visiting a museum store and tasting this delicacy, while learning its history at the same time, is something no one will miss. Lubeck has many more interesting surprises in store for you. Go to Lubeck! Turgenev also advised this to Pushkin...

To add variety to your holiday, take a trip to the Altes Land region. You will visit the largest orchards in Europe, visit the city of Grimm fairy tales Buxtehude, see the famous half-timbered houses, ancient Dutch mills and wooden bridges. For a closer acquaintance with traditional culture, we will go to a local restaurant to try farm cuisine.
Price: 300 € Individual
The name of the region "Altes Land" translates as "Old Earth". It is located along the Elbe River south of Hamburg. Here are the largest fruit plantations in northern Europe. This area is a magnet for tourists, especially in spring when the gardens are in bloom. And in the summer, festivals of strawberries, cherries, and apples are held here. Although you can enjoy these places at any time of the year. Altes Land is famous for its half-timbered houses with white beams, reed roofs and original brickwork. These houses tell stories about the traditions of local farmers. And there are a lot of unique traditions here. For a long time, chic white gates were placed in front of the houses of wealthy owners, which spoke of the wealth of the owner of the house. Altes Land was drained and settled by the Dutch in the 12th century, which is still visible today: Dutch mills, many canals and white wooden bridges over the canals. Driving through the region, you can buy fresh local fruit on every corner. Along the roads there are cafes that belong to farms, and where delicious cakes and pies with berries and fruits are baked and served. Local traditional dishes include Altlandic wedding soup and warm egg beer. We will start the excursion from the town of Buxtehude, which lies on the German “fairytale road”. The fact that this city is associated with fairy tales is evidenced by the numerous figures of a hare and a hedgehog from the famous fairy tale, which took place here. You will learn many interesting facts from the history of the city, and why dogs bark with their tails in Buxtehude. Next we will head to the capital of Altes Land - the city of York, visit the old Dutch mill and the “hearty apple yard”, and stroll along the elegant and neat streets of the city. Then on our way there will be the picturesque villages of Mittelkirchen and Steinkirchen with original churches. Each of the villages has its own interesting and rich in traditions history. All the way we will be accompanied by endless apple orchards. Every third apple eaten in Germany grew in this region. We will definitely eat traditional farm cuisine in one of the colorful restaurants along the way. We will end our trip through Altes Land with a walking tour of the ancient city of Stade, where you can have a cup of coffee and incredibly delicious cakes in one of the cafes in the old town.

Hamburg is a green metropolis on the water, a real garden city. In 2010, the European Union Commission named Hamburg the greenest city in Europe. In a city with a population of approx. 1.8 million people, standing at the confluence of the Elbe and Alster rivers, more than 150 parks and squares, and in the very center of the city there is a picturesque “Flowers and Plants” park with a color-musical fountain on one of the ponds. Hamburg has more bridges than Venice, London and Amsterdam combined. Hamburg has the second largest port in Europe and the largest complex of port warehouses in the world. Hamburg still has a lot to offer! Walking around Hamburg we will see the magnificent city hall building, in which the Hamburg parliament sits, the Jungfernstieg promenade - a place for young maidens to “walk”, the most picturesque man-made lake Alster in the very center of the city, we will go out to the banks of the Elbe, from where a view of the endless port opens up, Michel - so affectionately Hamburgers call the main cathedral of the city with the largest cathedral clock in Germany, old, miraculously surviving, as well as carefully restored houses - examples of North German architecture of the late Middle Ages. Hamburg is a city of contrasts. Old and new coexist peacefully here at every turn. Behind the port warehouses in the very center of the city, a unique project has developed - original modern residential, office and shopping districts of Hafen City are growing here, and a unique philharmonic is being completed. Lovers of romance will enjoy the picturesque quarter of Blankenese stairs (about 5 thousand steps!) - a former fishing village on the high bank of the Elbe, which over time turned into an area of millionaires, and a walking path along cozy villas along the banks of the Alster. You can also take a boat ride along the Elbe and Alster. In the evening, we invite you to admire the beautifully illuminated port and the Reeperbahn nightlife district, famous not only for its “red light districts”, but also for the fact that half a century ago, after a concert at a local disco, five Liverpool guys “woke up famous” - they received an offer to record their first album to no one then still unknown Beatles group. In the flower park, every evening you can listen and watch a half-hour water-color-musical extravaganza. The content of excursions depends on your wishes and interests, physical and other capabilities, as well as taking into account the unpredictable Hamburg weather.

Hamburg can easily be called the city where the Beatles first performed. Once upon a time, five brave British guys came here to play in nightclubs. Then, in the 60s of the last century in Hamburg there were many small popular clubs and musical parties that willingly hosted young talented performers. British rock also attracted Germans. The young Beatles from the port of Liverpool were no exception when they arrived in Hamburg in the summer of 1960 to begin their dizzying career here.

12 kilometers from Hamburg there is an unusually beautiful castle - Rhinebeck. In the 16th century, Duke Adolf the First ordered the old pond to be cleared and a castle built for himself on its shore in the style of the Dutch Renaissance. At the end of the 1970s, the castle was restored. Now the elegant building located by the water is open to the public, and today there is a cultural center here.

We will visit a castle 30 kilometers from Hamburg, in the land of Schleswich-Holstein, in the city of Ahrensburg, which, by the way, recently celebrated its sixtieth anniversary. The history of the settlement on the site of the city goes back to the distant Middle Ages. By order of Peter Rantzau, who wanted to build a castle of unprecedented beauty on this site, the construction of the castle took twenty-six years. Next to it they built houses for the poor, with a school for village children, a mill and a church. Blacksmiths, millers and tailors live nearby. What is interesting is that the temple partially preserved the original elements of decoration, such as the altar table. Later, the castle got a new owner, new factories were built, and in 1865 the Arensburg railway station was built. Now there is a museum, and every year thousands of tourists come to admire one of the most beautiful buildings of northern Germany from the Renaissance.

Many people take a bag of salt as a souvenir from this well-preserved ancient trading city. The city owes everything to Salt! It was mined here for more than 1000 years, and the prosperity of the city and its inhabitants depended on the sale of “white gold” for many centuries. Today, in one of the old mines there is a museum telling about the extraction and processing of salt. In its more than thousand-year history, the city has never been seriously destroyed! Therefore, in a relatively small area of the old city you can see a lot of interesting things. Three majestic churches of the 13th-14th centuries. One of them houses the famous organ of the 16th century, which organ music lovers come from far and wide to listen to. The huge shopping area Am Sande (On the Sand) with elegant facades in the brick Gothic style. The town hall with an 800-year history, a picturesque old port with a wooden harbor crane, which at the end of its working career at the end of the 19th century even managed to lift a locomotive! A small square by the water, Stintmarkt, named “in honor” of the smelt fish, beloved by northerners, is today a favorite place for tourists enjoying the romantic views of this cozy corner with a glass of beer. In the artisans' quarter, you seem to find yourself in a theatrical scenery: old rickety houses pressed closely together, streets and courtyards, doors - everything seems to be drawn, like a fairy tale. Old mills and breweries. There were once about 70 breweries in this small town by today’s standards (about 70 thousand inhabitants)! Some of them have preserved 17th-century furnishings, and guests will be offered to taste freshly brewed beer accompanied by local cuisine. Young Bach studied here and visited Heine’s parents. From the observation deck of the former water tower there is a magnificent view of the entire old city and more recent buildings. Just half an hour by train from Hamburg and you will have an unforgettable experience!

A walking or driving tour of Hamburg is always impressive and exciting. The appearance of the city, combining romanticism and efficiency, spirituality and rationality, leaves an unforgettable impression. The old station, which resembles a medieval castle in Germany, and next to it the art museum with its terracotta sculptures and bas-reliefs, and then a magnificent panorama of the inner waters of the Alster River, framed by magnificent buildings in the modernist style of the late 19th century.
The restless Jungfernstieg street or “maiden path” with its elite shops leads us to the “Venetian corner” of the city, built in imitation of the architecture of Venice with its arcades, and on the main square the town hall building with a strict and at the same time intricate facade decorated with sculptures and a cast-iron grille on entrance to the building's lobby.
The Protestant Church of St. Peter and its Orthodox shrine will tell about the connections of Hamburg with St. Petersburg, and the bell tower of the Church of St., preserved after the destruction of the 2nd World War. Nicholas will be reminded of Cologne Cathedral. From there, from the bell tower, you can take in the panorama of the city with its warehouse area built on narrow strips of land and the magnificent Elbe, where life is always bustling, unloading cranes are working and powerful cargo and passenger ships are passing through.
It is interesting to take a boat ride on the Elbe, when in addition to port facilities, ship repair docks and fuel storage facilities, a panorama of the high bank with its villas and parks opens up.

Lubeck - "lollipop city"
Lubeck is one of the few cities that has preserved the appearance of the times when it was called the “Queen of the Hanse”, when it was the richest and most important in the Baltic. Situated on a high hill, surrounded by water barriers, the city with the spiers of its churches was far visible to travelers, and four powerful gates once reliably protected this rich city from enemies, primarily the Varangians - the Danes.
Here is the Church of St. Mary, whose architecture became a model for the construction of churches in the Baltic countries, and next to the church sits a funny little devil, with whom one of the legends of the city is associated.
The winding narrow streets of the city and its picturesque courtyards are reminiscent of the former busy life of the merchants, and the former salt warehouses are mysterious and ominous; it is no coincidence that the first film dedicated to the mysterious figure of Count Dracula was filmed here.
It is impossible to pass by the museum and the marzipan shop. This is another attractive magnet for tourists. Lübeck marzipan is a real tourist attraction. Life-size characters from German history are made from marzipan.

Christmas in a German fairy tale. Hamburg
"... In order to truly understand that this or that country or this or that place exists, you need to go there in winter, of course. Because in winter, life is more real, more dictated by necessity. In winter, the contours of someone else's life are more distinct. For a traveler This is a bonus." - said Joseph Brodsky. We invite you to get to know Germany during the celebration of its main holiday - Christmas. Particular attention is paid to this period in Germany (from the end of November to December 24).
Numerous Christmas markets open, elegant Christmas trees delight the eye with multi-colored lights, buildings and trees on the streets are buried in colorful garlands, there is a smell of different goodies, shops are inviting with the most complete sales of the year, there are horse-drawn rides around, and an atmosphere of fun when all people seem to be closer to each other.

Finally, you can take a ride in a horse-drawn carriage.

It is also called the city of “white gold.” The salt mines are now a salt museum, which we will visit during our excursion. Lüneburg also holds the lead in medieval architecture, since Lüneburg was never seriously destroyed. Here they prepare for this holiday with special care - on the Marktplatz square in front of the ancient town hall they decorate a large Christmas tree, everything around shimmers with thousands of lights. Along the city streets and around St. John's Church, the Christmas market bustles with joy, selling all sorts of gifts, including the famous petrified salt crystal lamps. Costume shows and the medieval Christmarkt market will take place on December 7th and 8th: guests will be greeted by artisans, merchants and comedians. The trip also includes a visit to the Beer Museum.
Day 5 Travel to Schwerin by car. Schwerin is a quiet town, the residence of the Dukes of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and the capital of the duchy of the same name. Therefore, here on the island of Schweriner See, a beautiful castle was erected - the residence of the Dukes of Mecklenburg. Schwerin also has a beautiful theater and many beautiful buildings. You will see all this during a city tour. We will also see an art museum, a market square, a butcher's market... We will end the tour in a beer restaurant, where beer was brewed back in the Middle Ages. Be sure to try the local Schweriner beer, with the original taste of burnt bread. Let's not ignore the Christmas market.
Day 6. Travel to Kiel by car. It is a major port city and transport hub in Germany. In Kiel we will walk around the city, visit St. Nicholas Cathedral, built in the 13th century, the ancient city hall, a memorial to sailors who died during the First and Second World Wars, 72 meters high. And a museum located in the submarine Unterseeboot 995, which has been preserved from the Second World War. The Christmas market on Neuer Markt in the historic center of Rostock will delight you with its festive splendor and its traditions. One of them is that Santa Claus gets here every year in a different way, either by sleigh, or by ship, or even by tram. What will he drive this year? Be sure to try the local delicacies - smoked rauchwurst sausage and small schmalzkuchen donuts. Stollen, a huge festive cake, is baked especially for the opening ceremony of the bazaar. On the fairytale stage, performances based on German fairy tales are shown on Saturdays and Sundays, and performances based on the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm are staged in the enchanting Fairytale Forest.
Day 7. Trip to Berlin. At the end of the Christmas tour you will visit the capital of Germany. Let's start with a sightseeing tour of the center - the Triumphal Column, the monument to Otto von Bismarck, the residence of the Federal President of Germany, the Berlin Wall, Potsdamerplatz, the Main Catholic Church of St. Hedwig, the Berlin Cathedral, the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate and the Holocaust Monument, and much more. Berlin has one difference from other cities: Berliners celebrate the New Year on December 31 at the famous Brandenburg Gate, which is considered a symbol of Berlin and Germany. About a million people from many countries around the world gather here to celebrate the New Year.
There are about 60 Christmas markets in Berlin. You will find entertainment for every taste: a lot of shopping kiosks with various goods (up to 400 pieces), on weekends there are concerts and nativity scenes, ice slides and figures, carousels, a large free skating rink, Christmas pyramids, a fabulous Christmas forest, a medieval-style market, and of course goodies - grilled sausages, baked chestnuts, marzipan figures, gingerbread and caramel-glazed apples, grog or mulled wine, sweet pancakes with jam and whipped cream. Don't forget about traditional German beer. Every district of Berlin is proud of its Christmas markets, and distance from the center does not affect their beauty and exoticism.
The tour program may change according to your wishes.
A Christmas tour to Hamburg is an excellent opportunity to experience German culture, purchase quality handmade goods, plunge into the world of German fairy tales and get an unforgettable experience of your favorite Christmas holiday.

Hamburg as it is. Excursion
Today Hamburg is a modern, dynamically developing metropolis. There are more bridges and rivers here than in Venice, London and Amsterdam combined. There is a huge port where 13,000 ships call annually, where there are more than 150 squares and parks, where there are more than 50 museums of various subjects, where natural attractions harmoniously intersect with artificial ones... There is a lot of interesting things in Hamburg and you should definitely get to know this colorful city as part of our walking tour. We will definitely visit the Town Hall, the main symbol of any German city, with its 112-meter tower, built in 1887 in the neo-Renaissance style, we will walk along the Jungfernstieg promenade - a place for “walking” of young maidens, we will see the picturesque man-made lake Alster, which is unofficially called the “coast” millionaires", we will go out to the banks of the Elbe, from where we can see the endless port, Michel - this is how Hamburgers affectionately call the main cathedral of the city with the largest cathedral clock in Germany, old, miraculously surviving houses - examples of North German architecture of the late Middle Ages. We will take a boat ride along the Elbe and Alster rivers.
Good afternoon
We went on an excursion on 04/04/2019. I liked the stories about unusual facts that you don’t immediately read about in open sources. thoughtful route. Irina is a very nice woman.
We will also take advantage of other excursions upon our return to Hamburg.
An excellent route, an interesting story flavored with nice historical anecdotes. The excursion includes a visit to several indoor warm rooms, which gives you the opportunity to rest and warm up. I recommend to all. Thank you very much Irina!
Intelligent presentation, many interesting facts, and a properly constructed route turned gray winter Hamburg into a city with its own stunning character and atmosphere. After the excursion, we cemented our positive impression at the recommended restaurant and were already completely satisfied! Thank you, Irina!
Irina is a master of her craft! Thank you!
On October 29 we went on a tour of Hamburg. We listened to Irina with bated breath. Very interesting. Lots of educational facts from history. We visited various parts of the city. We learned about life in modern Hamburg. Irina quickly got in touch before the excursion. We parted as friends, ready to meet again. I recommend him as an interesting guide.
Irina is a very competent, attentive guide with good knowledge of the history of the city. With her help, we learned a lot of interesting things about the city. Thank you very much for the excellent excursion and friendly attitude. We recommend that everyone contact Irina.
A very interesting and educational excursion to get to know the city and its inhabitants. Irina is a very interesting guide. We were happy to visit all the excursions that she conducts; it’s a pity we only had two days. But we hope to come again and walk around the outskirts of Hamburg. Thank you Irina, you are a very interesting guide
On June 12 we had a sightseeing tour of Hamburg. Many thanks to the guide Irina, who showed us the city from very interesting and different sides. The excursion was individual, so there was time to ask questions and receive detailed answers to them. In Moscow we were told that there was nothing to see in Hamburg, this is not true. You can wander around the city yourself, but with a tour you get a holistic idea of the city and life in it.
Elena, Moscow.
We were very pleased with Irina’s tour of Hamburg!
The organization, the route, the pace, and the collection of information were simply wonderful.
Despite the fact that I worked in Hamburg for 3 years and thought that I knew the city, I learned a lot of new and interesting things. And for my friend, the city became a real discovery. Irina responded very well to our questions and always gave interesting answers.
We are very grateful to Irina for this walking tour, despite the not very good weather.
If you come to Hamburg not with a tour group, but on your own, then why not buy a tour right on the spot at the information office or book it in advance via the Internet? This will really brighten up your stay in the city and expand your boundaries.
Sightseeing tour of Hamburg
Everything is clear here. If you don’t want to explore the city on your own, a guide will help you. He will guide tourists through the districts of the city, through the Old and New Towns, and walk through Trost-Brücke Bridge(which, by the way, survived the fire of 1842). City guests will visit Town Hall, the oldest in Germany stock exchange and the ruins of the Church of St. Nicholas, now an anti-war memorial. Guides will take tour participants along the beautiful Jungfernstieg street and lead them to the man-made Lake Alster, “the coast of millionaires”, and then everyone will drive or walk to the Elbe, overlooking the port. This tour may include a visit Michel, the main cathedral of the city with the largest cathedral clock in Germany and small pretty houses of North German architecture of the late Middle Ages. This excursion may also include a boat ride on the Elbe and Alster. If the excursion is for the whole day, then the evening part includes a visit to the beautifully lit port and the nightlife district of the Reeperbahn (something like the “red light district”), where the Beatles, still unknown at that time, received an offer to record their first album. After the excursion, you can simply come to this area, because it is famous for its numerous discos, bars, restaurants, and there is the Salambo sex theater. By and large, this is the most popular excursion, and it is carried out in a variety of options, it can be different in duration and content, as it depends on your wishes and interests, and financial capabilities, of course. In any case, such an excursion will cost at least 50 € per person and lasts at least 3 hours.
Excursions to companies in Hamburg and the surrounding area
This excursion is exclusively for those who are interested in a specific manufacturing area and want to learn a little more. Although the curious will also like this tour. The variety of tours is quite wide - from a small family business to an international concern, and can also be organized by various institutions, such as ministries, industry unions, universities, etc., at the request of the tourists themselves. The guides can even arrange a meeting for you with the owners or managers of the companies. That is, such a tour can be very useful, can facilitate the exchange of experience and be devoted to issues of cooperation. So, the duration of the tour and the cost are absolutely negotiable, and can also take place in any city other than Hamburg.
Luneburg
This is an ancient trading city, from where every guest is sure to take away a bag of salt. This is because about a thousand years ago salt began to be actively mined and sold here, and the town was very rich. Tourists will definitely visit one of old mines, where there is now a museum dedicated to the extraction and processing of salt. Guests will also be led to three majestic churches of the 13th–14th centuries, one of which houses an organ from the 16th century, still working. Tourists will visit the shopping mall Am Sande Square with beautiful gothic brick buildings. Obligatory points of the excursion are the 800-year-old town hall, the old port with a wooden harbor crane, small square at Stintmarkt(which was named after the most favorite delicacy, the smelt fish) - there tourists will sit in one of the cozy cafes where they can drink beer and try, in fact, this fish. Guests will visit artisans quarter, old mills and breweries, of which there are a lot here. The city is also famous for the fact that young Bach studied here. This town is located just half an hour from Hamburg. The tour costs at least 50 euros per person, and the tour itself lasts at least 6 hours. Travel is carried out by minivan or train (and around the city on foot). Bring cash and warm clothing. The tour is clearly not suitable for small children.
Boat trip along the port harbor and canals
This is an alternative to a city tour, and one of the best ways to get to know the city and see it at its best. You can, for example, join a boat excursion along the Elbe and canals. The tour starts from the pier from the Speicherstadt warehouses. While sailing, tourists will be able to enjoy views of the futuristic Hafencity area and the Elbe Philharmonic. Tourists will also see historical museum ships, piers and the port promenade, the oldest shipyard in Hamburg, Blom and Voss, the Elbe 17 dry dock, a Russian submarine museum and a building in the shape of a parallelepiped. Quite an interesting excursion, short, an hour or two, and relatively inexpensive.
Tour of the Red Light District
As I already wrote above, this is a fairly famous and very cheerful area of the city. This “sinful district” of Hamburg is famous throughout the world, no less than its Dutch counterpart. This is the best place for entertainment in the city, but to avoid missing out, use the services of a guide. Evening excursion. The male part of the excursion group will enjoy a walk along Herbertstrasse - a street that women and teenagers under 18 years old are not allowed to enter. During this tour you will learn how the sex business works, your guide will enlighten you on the secrets of local bars and strip clubs (or brothels, who cares!). Naturally, such an excursion is not for children. It costs approximately 100 € per group, the group can vary in number of people (up to 15, for example). And the excursion lasts about two hours and starts right at the beginning of the block (though again, how to negotiate).
Of course, there are different outbound options, such as the Hamburg-Berlin or Hamburg-Lubeck excursions, but these are quite long tours, taking 12 hours, and are quite tiring. Many websites offer excursions from Hamburg to Berlin, but the journey to the capital alone takes 3 hours! I don’t see the point in taking such excursions - it will be much more expensive! It’s easier to come, say, to Lubeck or Berlin itself, and then arrange a sightseeing tour with local guides (or with guides via the Internet).
