Krasnodar | 12.09.2019 10.11.2019 Of course, it is quite possible to travel from Moscow to Crimea by bus or train, but the journey will take tens of times longer. It will be difficult to stay comfortably on a long journey, and no type of transport other than an airliner is capable of delivering passengers to their destination in a couple of hours. The only advantage will be the cheaper price of tickets, especially if purchased in advance. Some tourists still choose to travel by road or rail, believing that the romance of travel will alleviate the inconvenience caused. Others choose speed and comfort, using the services of airlines and air transport. Popular Yalta HotelsCrimea: transport from Simferopol airportIt's no secret that most Russians prefer to spend their holidays at sea. Many fly abroad, but many travelers pay tribute to the Black Sea coast of Crimea. The maritime climate, combined with mountain air, an abundance of greenery and a small number of harmful industries that spoil the environment, have a positive effect on health. People who have problems with the respiratory and cardiovascular systems especially like to come to the peninsula.

Each of these options has its own advantages and disadvantages. Below we will dwell on each of them in more detail.
To Crimea by plane
Without a doubt, the plane is the fastest and most convenient way to travel. Previously, 5-10 years ago, the cost of air tickets was disproportionately higher than the cost of railway tickets. Now this belief has turned into a myth. This is not to say that a plane ticket will cost you less than traveling by train. However, if there is a difference, it will not be that noticeable. The only thing is that you need to plan your trip in advance: it’s better to choose the most “inexpensive” dates and flights a month or two before your vacation.
After Crimea joined Russia, the onlypeninsula airport, located a 30-minute drive from Simferopol, was thoroughly reconstructed, which allowed it to acquire international status. However, flights from abroad are not yet available. Because of the banEuropean Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation to operate flights into the air zone of Crimeaand the peninsula is not recognized as part of the Russian Federation by the international community, it is still not known which Western companies will decide to open flights to Simferopol.
Since the beginning of summer 2014the geography of flights has expanded significantly due to air communications established with24 Russian cities. It is predicted that this number will only increase in the future. Direct flights are possible from cities such as Moscow, Krasnodar, St. Petersburg, Rostov, Ufa, Mineralnye Vody, Yekaterinburg,Surgut, Kazan, Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod, etc. In July 2014, Simferopol Airport (SIP) accepted from mainland Russia over 100 flights per day.
And, most likely, this is not the limit. In the next few years, a major modernization of the Simferopol airport is planned; in particular, a project has been developed for the construction of a new airport complex by attracting funds from a foreign investor.
Which airlines operate flights?
The following airlines fly to Simferopol airport: Transaero, Aeroflot, S7, Ural Airlines, Orenburg Airlines, Vim-Avia, Don-Avia and Red Wings.
Since the second half of 2014, Aeroflot aircraft began flying to Crimea.
Belbek Airport in the suburbs of Sevastopol
Those tourists whose final destination is Sevastopol will most likely be able to get directly to the hero city in the new 2015 season. According to the head of the executive power of Sevastopol, from 2015, guests of the city will be able to use the services of the former Belbek military airport not only in the summer, but throughout the year on a regular basis. For thisNegotiations are underway between the Government of Sevastopol and the Russian Ministry of Defense to conclude an agreement on the development of the civilian sector at the airfield. It is expected that Belbek airport will beserve flights from Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, St. Petersburg and Krasnodar.

How much do air tickets to Crimea cost?
At the time of writing (end of January 2015), the cost of a round-trip ticket on the route Peter-Simferol-Peter in mid-February was 8,652 rubles, and at the beginning of June - 12,110 rubles. If you want to save some money, you need to have at least 2 months in reserve to monitor for great deals. One thing is clear: round trip tickets are much cheaper than single tickets.
How long does it take to fly to Crimea?
The flight from St. Petersburg takes 3 hours 30 minutes, from Moscow - on average 2 hours 50 minutes, and from Krasnodar - a little over 2 hours. This is how long the plane stays in the air. In fact, much more time is needed: registration and passport control take at least 1 hour.
By plane to Crimea with children
Unlike the railway, where a child under 5 years old can travel for free, airlines sell children's tickets for half, or even two-thirds of the price, if the little traveler is over 2 years old. But you don’t need to worry about your child for more than a day on a train or in a car. Here you need to choose what you want to save - time, nerves or money.
To Crimea by train: no longer cheap, but just as “angry” and long
Unfortunately, there are no more advantages to traveling by train. If earlier a trip by this type of transport was justified by the relatively low cost, now the price of a ticket for a train traveling through Russia (trains do not currently run through Ukraine, and whether they will run in the future is not yet known) is equal to the price of a plane ticket. Of the minuses, we can add that in the summer it is hot, stuffy on the road, there are certain problems with food - all that causes a lot of inconvenience. But on the road you can read, play board games, lie down, and walk.
Please remember that during peak season there may not be tickets available for the dates you need. We advise you to buy them 45 days before the start of your holiday, when the sale opens.
What trains go to Crimea?
It's a whole epic with trains to Crimea. Until the summer of 2014, it was possible to get to the peninsula by several trains running from some Russian cities through the territory of Ukraine. Ukrainian customs passed through twice - in the Belgorod area when entering Ukraine and at the intersection of the borders of the Crimean Peninsula.
Due to the escalating conflict with Ukraine, trains passing through its territory were canceled. People who needed to get to Crimea began to fly more often. But at the same time, the need for rail transport has not disappeared.
Therefore, in the summer of 2014, it was decided to launch a direct train062Hfrom Moscow to Simferopol via the Kerch crossing. The system is as follows: in the evening of every day a train departs from the Moscow Kazanskaya railway station " Moscow-Nalchik", which includes several direct carriages traveling to Simferopol.
Upon arrival in Rostov-on-Don, these cars are attached to the train562С "Rostov-on-Don - Simferopol", who, upon arrival atThe Kavkaz railway station makes a stop to disembark passengers. While passengers are transported by bus to the port, the train is loaded onto a separate cargo ferry. Upon reaching the Kerch port (30-45 minutes on the way), train traffic continues. You can see the detailed route.
Attention: Since September 2014, no train has crossed the strait. Tourists had to pack their things and, upon arrival on the peninsula, board a new train along with their luggage. It’s too early to talk about what the logistics will be like for the next holiday season. As they say, we'll wait and see.
To Crimea by train with a child
If a child is traveling with you, take care of food and entertainment on the road. It is better not to take perishable foods with you: yoghurt, kefir, cheese, butter. Better take more nuts, dried fruits, apples. If you have to travel for more than 12 hours, a variety of “quick porridges” are perfect. It is better not to buy pies or belyashi at the stations, and especially not to feed them to your child. Otherwise, there is a great risk of spending your vacation in a bed in an infectious diseases hospital instead of swimming in the sea and playing on the shore.
A common question among travelers is: “Do I need consent to take a child out of the country?” if one parent or grandparent/other relatives are traveling with the child. We officially declare that consent is NOT required, since Crimea now belongs to Russia and border crossing does not occur.
Single ticket
Traveling to Crimea on a single ticket will significantly save your money. A single ticket is a “multimodal” system for delivering passengers to Crimea, developed for the holiday season, combining three types of transport - train, bus and ferry, included in a single transport network.
You just need to go to any long-distance service desk of JSC FPK and tell which city in Crimea you want to go to. The cashier will issue a single ticket (train ticket to Krasnodar or Anapa + boarding pass to the ferry crossing + ferry ticket and bus waiting in Kerch). The advantage of a single ticket is that all flights are very well timed and the possibility of being late for one of the modes of transport is excluded.
Upon arrival at the port of Crimea, you can transfer to a bus going to Feodosia, Simferopol, Sevastopol, Yalta or Evpatoria. Read more about the “single ticket” on the Russian Railways website.
The time has come for vacations and many, having planned their vacation in the winter, have begun to implement their plans in earnest. For most people, vacation and sea are synonymous words. And if so, then everyone decides for themselves where it is most comfortable to relax. The choice of a large number of people falls on the Crimean Peninsula. Crimea attracts a huge number of tourists with its clean sea, highly organized service, and the beauty of the landscapes. But in order to relax, you need to plan your route down to the smallest detail and think about how to get there. How many hours does it take to fly to Crimea? How long and tedious is this? Let's take a look together.
How to reach Crimea
You can get to the Crimean coast using the following transport:
- by plane;
- by rail;
- by bus;
- by car.
Each of these methods has its own strengths and weaknesses. Before starting the road, all factors are taken into account and a decision is made on how to drive. There is no doubt that air travel is the fastest and most convenient way to get to your destination. Let's take a closer look at this option.
To Crimea by air
The plane is the fastest mode of transport and you won’t even have time to get tired before you find yourself in place. How long does it take to fly direct to Crimea from Moscow? What about other major cities?
Let's take a look together.
Provided that the flight is direct, You can cover the distance from Moscow to Crimea in two and a half hours . If you have to make a transfer at one of the airports in Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don or St. Petersburg, you will have to spend a little more time - about three hours and fifteen minutes, but it will help save money.
Of course, you will have to spend extra time at the airport checking documents and registering. Everyone decides for themselves what is more appropriate for them to save: time or money.
Having reached the airport in a short period of time, all that remains is to make the final push: get to the desired location. To do this, you should use the services of local carriers:
- call a taxi;
- take local public transport;
- rent a car.
This issue is resolved in advance, at the stage of calling representatives of tourist centers, dispensaries or private cottages. In order not to waste time searching for the right place, you should find out in advance how to get to the address.
Of course, it’s ideal to get off the plane and jump into the car to your resting place. But sometimes you have to wait for someone, resolve issues with booking tickets, deal with luggage. Simferopol Airport, now an international airport, offers a large number of services:
- a spacious hall with superior comfort, where it is possible to organize meetings and hold meetings;
- assistance in finding the necessary contacts in a special directory;
- have a snack in a small cafe or gourmet restaurant;
- spend a few hours or spend the night in comfortable rooms;
- Take advantage of the offer of guarded parking for your car.
Air carriers and ticket prices
The airport receives about seventy aircraft per day from various parts of the country from the following air carriers:
- Uzbekistan Airways;
- Aeroflot;
- "Ural Airlines";
- "Yakutia";
- "Transaero";
- other companies.
Temporarily the airport does not serve flights from abroad.
Many factors influence prices, and it is not possible to indicate boundaries. Ticket prices depend on:
- flight option: direct or with transfers;
- time of year, seasonality;
- time of ticket purchase: in advance or urgent;
- day of the week;
- period of the day.
Airlines offer a system of promotional offers and bonus programs that help you save money and attract customers. If you monitor the situation, you can easily save on tickets and fly to the peninsula cheaper.
There are other options by which you can get to Crimea:
- railway;
- by bus;
- a passenger car.
But moving will be much more tiring and time-consuming. And although this will help save money to some extent, it will also add hassle. You definitely need to worry about tickets several months before your planned trip. If you are traveling with a small child, be prepared for the fact that this type of journey to your destination will be doubly painful for the baby. Be patient and have the necessary items for a long trip.
You decide for yourself how and what to get there. If by land transport, this will require additional time and effort. If by air, you will ensure comfort and speed of travel and you won’t even notice how several hours fly by. In any case, the decision is yours.
