Sanya: where the sky meets the sea. What interesting places are worth visiting in Sanya? Sanya where to go on your own
Sanya can surprise any traveler. This is a controversial resort, where exotic flora coexists with luxury hotels, and from the windows of numerous shopping centers you can admire the coastal zone or picturesque mountain landscapes. This city is the southernmost not only on the island, but throughout China. An abundance of sunshine all year round, a clear sea and a long beach strip make Sanya an attractive holiday destination. Here you can spend your days basking in the sun, snorkeling or trying to stand on a board. And no matter how hard tourists try, when visiting Sanya it is impossible to avoid running through local shops and shopping complexes. There are definitely more souvenir shops and specialized boutiques in this resort than monuments and museums. And to be honest, there are practically no attractions in Sanya itself. However, this does not mean that curious travelers and admirers of architectural masterpieces will be disappointed by the resort town, which for several centuries has been called the land of sky and sea.
- In the vicinity of Sanya there are many museums, temples and parks that are ready to introduce tourists to the flora and fauna, as well as the culture and religion of the resort and the entire island. Educational and entertaining excursions to these attractions are organized especially for tourists from Sanya. However, most of the interesting places can be visited on your own. Some natural and historical monuments, despite the fact that they are located outside the resort, belong to the tourist sites of Sanya. These are the "Edge of the World" park and the Taoist park "Heavenly Grottoes", the Temple of Confucius and the center of Buddhism. But it’s not just getting to know him that you need to spend time on. If desired, travelers can visit the following attractions.
Park deer looking back
The picturesque park is located just four kilometers from the city on the highest mountain, Luheitou. The easiest way to get to this place is to take bus No. 2 or 3 through Dadonghai Bay along Liling Road to the park ticket kiosk. The park itself is small and its highlight is the stone statue of a deer looking back, with a guy and a girl from the Li tribe standing on either side.
This twelve-meter composition depicts the history of the park's origins and illustrates a beautiful legend associated with a place sacred to the indigenous people. According to legends, a young hunter pursued a deer for a long time until he drove it onto a steep cliff. He was about to shoot an arrow at the noble animal, when suddenly the deer looked back and miraculously turned into a beautiful girl. The guy fell in love with the stranger at first sight, and the deer girl not only reciprocated his feelings, but also helped the young man save his mother from death.
It is this deer that is considered the ancestor of the Li people, and her sculpture has been decorating the top of the mountain for many years. In addition to this monument in the park has several more corners associated with love and fidelity . Installed near the stairs stone heart with the hieroglyph “Love”. Visitors of all ages take pictures here, and lovers leave locks on the adjacent wall with chains. Many believe that symbolic action in a holy place cements love. A little further along the park is located lovers' alley, where for a small fee you can release white doves into the sky. And the owner of the birds will capture this moment with your camera. Next to the alley grows a large love tree. It is customary to hang paper hearts with your names and red ribbons on its branches to make wishes come true.
In addition, there is a white and red pavilion on the mountain. One offers a marvelous view of the sea and the city, and while sitting in the second you can study the outlines of the island of lovers. Exploring the park does not take much time, but is a lot of fun. All kinds of stone pedestals, tropical plants and flowers will impress adults, but children will be more impressed by the wild monkeys and lizards living in the park. The map on the back of the entrance ticket helps you find your bearings.
This corner of Sanya is open to visitors until 23:30. In the first half of the day, the park is not crowded and only in the late afternoon it fills with tourists, when green laser beams begin to shine from the top of the mountain. They alternately illuminate different parts of the city and this amazing sight is worthy of the attention of travelers.
The entrance ticket to the park costs 45 yuan, but I would recommend spending another 15 yuan and renting a battery-powered car. It takes visitors to the top of the mountain in a matter of minutes, while climbing on foot on their own takes a long time and is very exhausting. You can go down to the foot of the mountain using the same transport or on a special cart going down a narrow chute from the top of the mountain down.
By the way, at the foot of Luheitou you can look into the deer nursery, where rare species of noble animals are bred.
Here visitors are allowed to feed, pet and photograph the deer. At the entrance to the nursery there is a small shop that sells products made from raw materials of animal origin - deer fat ointments, souvenirs, etc.
Park "Edge of the World"
This place is located a little further than the previous park - almost 25 kilometers from the resort. The park is conventionally divided into two zones. One half is a coastal strip filled with large and small smooth stones randomly scattered across the sand. Some boulders are half submerged in water, while others are marked with hieroglyphs. Walking among these strange boulders, you encounter the “stone that supports the sky” and the “stone of broken hearts.”
The most famous natural exhibit in the park is considered ten-meter stone “Edge of the World”, which has been considered the extreme southern point of China for more than two and a half centuries. And this is confirmed by the inscription in Chinese, made in 1733. There are a lot of legends associated with the park and they are all very sad.
Organized tourist groups fill the park in the afternoon, and then it becomes difficult to take good photos or calmly walk through the maze of stones.
The second half of the park does not stand out in any way - a simple natural area with trees, bushes and a central alley. True, in this part of the park there are many information signs, which are so lacking on the beach area.
You can get to the park from Sanya by tourist bus departing from the bus station. A one-way fare will cost 5 yuan. The walk will take no more than 1.5 hours, after which you can stop by the sea zoo and return to the hotel. Moreover, the zoo is located just 300 meters from the park. You can visit the stone park on any convenient day from seven in the morning to seven in the evening. An entrance ticket to the beach with natural creations costs 50 yuan, and a walk through the park with a guide costs 89 yuan.
Teahouse
After dinner, local residents like to gather in a teahouse, drink tea and talk, where they forget about the fatigue of a working day and all their troubles during a sincere conversation.
Chess and cards
There are many good places in Sanya for chess and card lovers. These include hotel rooms with views of seascapes in Sanyawan Bay, and a light breeze blowing from the sea, elegant and quiet loggias, and cool open rooms for card games. In the city of Sanya, with its beauty of the blue sea and blue sky, any activity is a pleasure.
Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese medicine is a treasure of Chinese culture accumulated over five thousand years. Different types of Chinese physiotherapy have different effects, regulating immunity, clearing energy meridians (Jing Lo), strengthening the stomach and kidneys, etc. Sanya's tropical, humid climate provides the natural benefits of Chinese medicine.
In traditional Chinese health medicine, physiotherapy and herbal medicine are used, which have a good effect in clearing energy meridians (Jing Lo), relieving fatigue, and regulating the endocrine system.

Transport
Taxi
The most comfortable way to travel in the city. They guard tourists at all hotels; you can catch them on the street or call them by phone. At the entrance to the hotels, the doormen on duty give the tourist a coupon with the taxi number written in - in case he forgets something in the car. Tariffs vary widely among different companies and depend on the type of car. On average it is 10-12 yuan for the first 4 km and 1-2 yuan for each subsequent one. At night the tariff may be higher. It is usually written large on a piece of paper attached to the windshield or rear right door glass. The taxi driver takes money strictly according to the meter and returns the change in full, and upon the first request of the client, he is obliged to issue a check for the amount paid (each car has a cash register). It is impossible to catch a “private driver” in China: private transportation is prohibited as a phenomenon.
The approximate fare is 1.6 yuan per km (minimum 7 yuan per landing). A ride from Phoenix Airport to the city center (about 20 km) will cost about 45 yuan, and to Yalong Bay - 80 yuan. It should be borne in mind that outside the locality to which this taxi is assigned, the tariff rises to 2.7 yuan per km. Therefore, when traveling long distances, it is advisable to bargain and agree on a fixed amount, especially if you want to return with the same car. So, a trip from Sanya to Haikou and back will cost 600 yuan, which is much cheaper than the meter.
Trishaw
The city has such an exotic means of transportation as a rickshaw - by using its services, you can get to know the city in more detail. Traveling by pedicabs is not a cheap pleasure; the price must be agreed upon in advance. You can also use regular rickshaws. The fare for regular and pedicabs depends on the weight of the passenger and the distance. In addition, most hotels provide bicycle rental services.
Railway connection
In 2003, the first railway line connecting Hainan Island with Guangdong Province was put into operation. The journey takes 15 hours. The train follows the eastern route of the island, then enters the ferry and travels 30 km on the ferry. There are 3 trains per day.
Urban transport
There are two bus routes in the city of Sanya: 2 and 4. The distance between stops is 500 m.
There are also several minibus routes: from the city of Sanya to the Dragon Bay of Asia, to the End of the World Park and to the Nanshan Temple.
The bus station for long-distance buses is located on Jiefang Avenue. A bus to Haikou City departs every 20 minutes. Bus station opening hours: 7.00 - 23.00.
Car rental
Car rental in Hainan, as in all of China, is only possible with a driver.

Purchases
Holidays in Sanya can be combined with shopping. Local shopping centers have a decent range of clothing for children and adults at affordable prices. Clothes for the most part are locally produced, they are made mainly from natural fabrics of good quality. The colors are “Hawaiian”, very bright, pleasing to the eye. Prices start from 10 yuan.
In addition, people usually buy a variety of souvenirs, handicrafts, local delicacies and natural Chinese cosmetics in Sanya. Thus, Sanya probably has no equal in China in terms of the range and quality of pearl and crystal products.
Since Sanya is a seaside resort, shell souvenirs are the most popular. Here you can buy shells of a wide variety of shapes and shades.
As for food, tourists often bring with them local coffee (it has a specific coconut flavor), teas and wines. Additionally, the tropical island of Hainan is home to a variety of amazing fruits. If you can’t take fresh fruit home, you can buy their dried counterparts.
Almost all of Sanya's significant stores are located in the area of 4 Jiefang Roads, located along the coast and in the central part of the city. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th streets (Yi, Er, San and Si) of Jiefanglu follow each other and form a single shopping district. In addition to all kinds of retail outlets, in this area you can find cafes, restaurants and fast foods for every taste - from McDonald's and KFC to chic expensive restaurants of various cuisines of the world. This is also where most of the local tourist offices are located. Buses from hotels run to Sanya's most famous shopping centers. Their schedule should be checked at the reception of your hotel.
Remember that in Sanya, bargaining is not only appropriate, but even encouraged. Moreover, this applies not only to markets and private shops, where, by haggling, you can lower the price by half. In large stores with fixed prices, you can and should also bargain, but in a special way - ask for a discount.
If you want to buy local shells, you should not do it in Yalongwan Square, where most of these shops are concentrated: the prices there are inflated. You can buy shells for almost half the price in the Tanya Haijiao tourist area.
There is no need to buy corals and whole turtle shells, since it will not be possible to take them out of the country early - their sale is officially prohibited in Hainan.
It is best to buy national Chinese clothing in Sanya at the market: it will cost 20-30 yuan maximum. In places near tourist attractions it is several times more expensive.
If you do not intend to make a purchase, do not stand at the counter for a long time - this will give the seller hope. In addition, in a couple of minutes a crowd of sales assistants will gather around you, and it will be difficult to get rid of them.
Sanya shops

Health insurance and medical assistance
When applying for a visa, a medical insurance policy for the period of the trip is not required. However, all tourists traveling to the island are strongly recommended to take out insurance. This is due to active recreation and the possibility of injury. The policy does not cover treatment of chronic diseases and dental care. It should also be taken into account that no insurance company covers the costs of treatment of sexually transmitted diseases and diseases caused by alcohol and drug poisoning. Medical services received in China are paid for in cash. Upon returning to Russia, the tourist receives compensation from the insurance company upon presentation of invoices in accordance with the contract. If an insured event occurs, you must call the numbers indicated in the insurance and contact the hotel’s medical center. After calling a doctor, you must immediately call the service center indicated in the insurance policy and notify the insurance company about the use of medical services.

Safety
Take care of your bags in crowded places. Immediately put your passports and tickets in the hotel safe; passports are not required on the street. Do not carry large sums of money into the city. Sun loungers on the hotel beach are free in most cases. Beware of the scorching sun, you can get burned in 15-20 minutes. The best time for sunbathing is from 8 to 11 am and from 16 to 19 pm. It is better to take sunscreen with you (with a coefficient of at least 20 units) - only Chinese brands with a whitening effect are sold on the island. Check your change carefully, you may come across counterfeit 10 and 50 yuan bills - they should not be torn at the edges, the texture of the paper is different, and Mao Zedong does not look like the one depicted on the bill.
In case of a conflict situation with police officers or traffic controllers, say “budun” (translated as “I don’t understand”), it often helps and they will leave you alone, even if you did something wrong.
You are not allowed to take photographs in temples. You can, standing on the street, try to film the inside of the room through an open door. But even if you film in a temple, no one will snatch your camera from you. They may simply ask you to leave the premises. Tourists are not recommended to photograph government institutions and strategic sites (even bridges and dams).
In general, the city is safe. At one time there were a lot of robbers on motorcycles snatching bags. The authorities then put up posters on the streets saying that in such cases it was okay to kill the robbers, which stopped the robberies. In any case, it is better not to put anything valuable in your handbags; in the city, stay away from the roadway.
A girl can travel unaccompanied, the people are friendly and it’s unlikely that anything will happen. There are a lot of police on the streets, you can walk safely even at night.
It is not recommended to use purchased food and drinks on the street, or to drink or eat in places outside the hotel that are questionable from a hygiene point of view. Wash your hands at the first opportunity, and thoroughly wash all fruits with bottled mineral water, regardless of where the fruits were purchased. Use bottled water for drinking as well, do not drink tap water.
When going to the beach, we must not forget that this is a tropical coast, and you need to be careful when swimming. As in any other warm seas, it is better to swim in the sea only in special slippers.
A foreigner in China should always carry a hotel business card with an inscription in Chinese, or a card with his data filled out by any Chinese translator. It must be presented to local residents if the tourist gets lost in the intricacies of the streets.
A Russian passport is of great value to some Chinese, since there is a problem of illegal migration to Russia and further to the West. If you lose your passport, immediately contact the Embassy or Consulate. In difficult cases, also do not hesitate to contact the Russian Embassy, where there is an attendant on duty around the clock.

Sanya Nanshan Temple (三亚南山寺)
The history of the Nanshan temple complex, purposefully created to attract tourists, began with a giant statue of the goddess Guanyin (goddess of mercy), which rises on top of a pedestal erected above the sea.
There are several interesting places in the park, for the opportunity to visit which you will have to pay a considerable price - entrance ticket costs 150 yuan.
For an additional fee, a special trolleybus running around the complex will take you throughout the park. However, it is better to save money (even though the price is not very high) and stroll around the park on foot, especially since it is not that big.
Nanshan is about an hour's drive from Sanya by bus. You can take it at the city bus station or at one of the stops along the city's coastal highway (三亚弯路).
The four-meter statue of the goddess Guanyin is covered with 100 kg of gold and silver, it is studded with 120 carats of South African diamonds and other precious stones
The surrounding landscapes are much more interesting than the park itself, which can rather be called a “for show” attraction of Sanya.
Xisha Archipelago (西沙群岛)
The Xisha Archipelago is a stunning, remote archipelago filled with tropical life. One of the islands of the archipelago was once an exotic holiday destination and was incredibly popular among tourists. However, the island is now closed to tourists, reportedly due to territorial disputes.
Wuzhizhou Island
Hugely popular and loved by many for its many scuba diving opportunities, Wuzhizhou Island has become a victim of its popularity.

Perfume Bay (香水湾; [])
This place is two hours away by bus from Sanya (ticket costs less than 30 yuan). Plus about 100 meters you will have to walk along the expressway. It’s better to ignore all offers from motorcyclists to give you a ride, and if you do agree, don’t pay more than 4 yuan per person.
The Perfume Bay beach strip is not yet sufficiently developed, and, as a result, is not yet fully occupied by tourists. Thereby There is a wonderful atmosphere of peace and tranquility here.
A visit to this place will be a kind of “sanitary” day for your mind and consciousness, especially if in addition you go on a walk around the surrounding farms.
Be careful - strong tides can sometimes occur. Also, don't forget to bring something to snack with.
Betel Nut Ethnic Minorities Park
Hainan is a southern island that is home to a large number of ethnic minorities. These are predominantly the Li (黎) and Miao (苗) ethnic groups.
At Betel Nut Ethnic Minorities Park, located approximately 30 kilometers from Sanya, you can learn more about these groups.
The park is extremely commercialized - there are a huge number of shops, stalls selling a variety of snacks; For money you can take pictures with local residents in their traditional costumes or with local animals.
If we do not take into account the above-mentioned elements of commercialization, then it seems that in the case of the park there was a sincere desire and attempt to show the traditional way of life and customs of local minorities.
Overall, the park looks less vulgar and tasteless compared to similar attractions in other parts of China.
Probably, the creation and operation of a park is a relatively good way to earn funds for the needs of the local population.
The entrance fee may seem unreasonably high - approximately 150 yuan per person, however, the park is huge in size and can offer a variety of entertainment.
To fully explore it, you will need 3-4 hours.

However, when purchasing such a tour, you should remember that you will have to adjust your time to the rest of the group, and also that there may be stops at shops along the way there and back.
Yanoda Rainforest Cultural Tourism Zone
If you are still wondering “what to see in Sanya”, visit the tourist area 35 kilometers from the city (the road towards Wǔzhǐshān Five Fingered Mountain).
Yanoda, which means 123 in Hainanese, is a relatively newly established tropical forest park, well maintained and with beautiful scenery.
An internal bus (costs 44 yuan) takes groups of tourists to the starting point, which also offers beautiful views of the reservoir.

Once you reach the top, you will find yourself in a landscaped park with lotus flowers, colorful flowers and a buffet offering rich herbal buffet(mainly for tourist groups).
Yanoda Rainforest Cultural Tourism Zone is in good condition and, very importantly, despite some commercialization, remains very natural and lives up to its name in content.

The entrance ticket costs 40 yuan (as part of a tourist group) and 170 yuan (individual visit).
Tianya Haijiao (天涯海角; Tianya Haijiao – Edges of the skies, corners of the sea)

The beach itself is unremarkable and not that great, but is mentioned flatteringly in the works of various ancient Chinese writers. Entrance costs 70 yuan, 35 yuan – for students.
Sunrise Rock
A large stone lying on a steep cliff in the southwestern part of the island. Standing on this rock, you can get a bird's eye view of the entire island and the South China Sea.
The stone resembles a stone statue of Buddha looking out to the sea. Another association that the stone evokes is a huge turtle crawling towards the sea.
Sunrise Rock is the perfect place to watch the sunset.

Luhuitou Park is one of the tourist attractions in Sanya.
On the top of one of the highest mountains in Sanya there is a statue of a deer looking back, and next to the deer stand a guy and a girl from the Li tribe.
According to the existing legend, the guy hunted a deer until he drove it onto a steep cliff. The deer, driven into a dead end, looked back and miraculously turned into a beautiful girl, with whom the guy immediately fell in love.
This place is a symbol for young couples in love.
At night, you will see green lasers shooting from the area where the statue is located. Laser shots can be observed from any part of the city.
Below the statue there is an outdoor barbecue area with seating that is open until 11:30 p.m. Also here you will see wild monkeys trying to take food from people.
There is a map of the park on the back of your entrance ticket, so you can easily navigate yourself. There is also an abandoned coastline in the park.
Here you will see rusted trucks and closed entrance areas.
Another attraction of Luhuitou Park is a wall hung with chains, on which couples in love leave locks with their names, as a symbol of love that will last forever. Well, or until the lock breaks.
Entrance costs 45 yuan, a bus that will take you to the top of the mountain will cost 15 yuan.
Sanya city, located in China, on the island of Hainan, is certainly worth a visit for a traveler who is tired of standard, rather boring attractions and resorts and who prefers a combination of top-level comfort and educational independent hiking trips. The picturesque, impeccably beautiful coastline of Sanyawan Bay, along which the surprisingly interesting city of Sanya is located, will delight both lovers of a quiet and slow holiday with children, as well as fans of atypical attractions and extreme types of entertainment on the water.
And if you are tired of water treatments, the full power of the developed tourist infrastructure is at your service - exclusive shopping, walking tours in the tropics, magnificent landscape parks designed on an Asian scale and a unique museum of the world's best pearls. Let's take a closer look at all the popular places in Sanya!
Main attractions of Sanya
It is not known exactly when this city was founded, but it is quite interesting that the ancestors of modern Chinese believed that “the sky and the ocean end” - it was located so far from the main political centers that during the period of the Empires it was called "edge of the world". It was precisely because of its remoteness from the then civilization that the city became famous as a place of exile for officials and public figures who fell out of favor with their own rulers. Now it’s simply hard to believe - the island seems like a real paradise!
Beaches of Sanya
- Sanya main beach - Yalong, stretching for several kilometers to the east. It is here that all kinds of tourist attractions and the most luxurious hotels await you. Lush vegetation, clean sand and amazingly clear, blue water - believe me, once you've been here, you'll definitely want to come back. Among the disadvantages of the beach, one can note a relatively small number of catering outlets, but some people like this layout even more.
- Danduhai Beach hidden on both sides by mountains, so even in winter the water here is noticeably warmer than in neighboring bays. There are practically no palm trees here, but their role is played by free umbrellas and spacious canopies equipped with fountains with drinking water. During the day this beach is very crowded, but in the evening this place becomes quiet, cozy and almost deserted, so you can feel like a real Robinson Crusoe on a desert island.
- Sanyawan resort area will delight you with a gentle, smooth entry into the sea and a dense, comfortable layer of light sand. The beach is separated from the road that runs along the coast by a row of palm trees, which provide excellent shade. Here, tables of bars, cafes and restaurants are set right on the sand, so any tourist can sit comfortably just after leaving the water.

Sanya Parks
- Taoist Park "Heavenly Grottoes"- the oldest attraction of the island, consisting of six extensive zones. It was from here that Taoism began to spread throughout Southern China, so that several relics such as the Heavenly Altar and the Heavenly Imprint can be seen here. The southern mountain of the park is almost completely covered with greenery; dracaenas grow here, which the Chinese call “longevity pines” - this is one of the rarest centenarians in the world; the age of such a tree can be about 10 thousand years. Judging by the reports of some researchers, dracaenas remember dinosaurs!
- On the same South Mountain, called by some the Mountain of the Divine Turtle, there is a wall of writings that tell the story of the god of writing, Kuixing, who is often depicted standing on a huge sea turtle. Adherents of Taoism believe that God especially honors those who are famous for their talent in the written word. The statue of God, located there, is simply overwhelming in its size.
- Dragon king statue, which owns the South China Sea, can be seen in the park's temple of the same name. The domineering dragon king is believed to bring good luck and a stable income if revered properly. The day when the majestic dragon raises its head falls on the second of February, and then celebrations are held in the temple, stunning in its splendor, and numerous prayers are offered to the sea and the king.
- Romantically beautiful Park "Edge of the World" located to the west of the city, its name is most accurately translated from Chinese as “the last point of sea and sky.” The park is especially popular among lovers, since the story of the Chinese Romeo and Juliet is connected with this place: if you walk along the coastline, you can see two boulders with the inscriptions “Tianya” and “Haijao”. These young people turned to stone after their families forbade them to continue their relationship. Boulders are considered by the Chinese to be symbols of faithful and eternal love; wedding ceremonies are often held here. There are a great variety of similar stones with inscriptions in the park, especially “Broken Heart” and “Wealth”, the legends of which can be learned from guides working throughout the territory.
- Bethel Nat Ethnic Park, which was dedicated to the local small peoples of Li and Miao, is located several tens of kilometers from Sanya. Here you can look at the betel nut, which for the aborigines is something like a birch tree for the Russian people. The palm tree on which the nut grows is very similar to the coconut tree, but the fruits that grow on it are completely different. Locals start chewing betel from an early age; this tradition goes back to ancient times. The Chinese firmly believe that the nut helps improve brain function.
Museums of Sanya
- Sanya Natural History Museum is the only one in the south. Here you can see the remains of long-extinct animals such as dinosaurs. The museum also carefully preserves unique objects that can be used to recreate the image of our world as it was hundreds of millions of years ago. In total, the museum's exposition contains about two thousand exhibits, some of which are items of the national treasury.
- To the Pearl Museum It is worth a visit not only for those who would like to get acquainted with the culture of mining this amazing jewelry, but also for those who would like to purchase beads, rings or earrings for themselves. By visiting this exciting place, you will not only see unique pearls that were greatly valued by the emperors of China, but you will also visit a real, working pearl plantation.
- Nanshan Temple represents the largest Buddhist sanctuary built since the birth of modern times. It’s hard to imagine, but the temple complex occupies an area of 40 thousand square kilometers. Here you can appreciate the size of the famous Guanyin statue of the merciful bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, which towers over visitors by 108 meters, making it the fourth tallest statue in the world. Also on the territory you can see many copies of buildings of the Tang Dynasty, which ruled the country in the first century AD. In addition, the sculptural composition inside also deserves special attention: in the center of the vast hall of the temple there is a statue of Buddha, next to it there are two bodhisattvas, and around there are four Kings of Heaven, who carry constant watch, preserving the well-being of all living things.

Traveling from Sanya: what to see in 1 day of stay
If you have a limited amount of time at your disposal, I recommend this option for walking around the city and its surroundings:
- The train station is the starting point of the route. Let's go to Nanshal Temple Express "Hainan - West".
- After seeing the sights of the temple, we return back to the city by the same train and go by bus to Park "Edge of the World".
- After wandering along the beach and bowing to the sacred boulders with inscriptions, we have lunch in a cafe located in the park.
- We travel by bus to Taoist Park: Numerous attractions, recreation areas and restaurants await us there. At this point the route ends, since few people have enough strength for the further journey.

In Sanya with children: where to go
- It is unlikely that your children will be bored Butterfly Park, which is located in an incredibly narrow gorge, overgrown with a real forest. The gorge itself is completely covered with a net, under which a whole sea of butterflies of different colors and sizes flutters. By the way, among them there are specimens whose market value amounts to thousands of American dollars.
- If you like zoos, move with your children to Monkey Island- a real kingdom of these cheerful and scurrying animals. The monkey show starts on the island at approximately ten in the morning, so try not to miss it.
