Tours to the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Tours to Brazil Great force of nature
The Olympic Games in Brazil are waiting for you!
Rio de Janeiro will host guests from August 5 to 21 in 2016. This is the first Olympic Games that South America will host. Brazil has already hosted a large-scale event on its territory, the FIFA World Cup in 2014, the final match between the national teams of Germany and Argentina was held at the Maracanã stadium in Rio, where the opening and closing of the Olympic Games, as well as football competitions, are planned.
Rio is the capital of the 2016 Olympic Games
Eight cities competed to host the 2016 Olympics, but in the end only four remained: Tokyo, Madrid, Chicago and Rio de Janeiro. In 2009, at the 121st session of the IOC, by a clear margin, Rio was declared the capital of the 31st Olympic Games. Rio applied to host the Summer Olympics 4 times, but never got into the final vote and the fifth time was the lucky ticket!
Weather
In the period from August 5 to August 21, South America experiences calendar winter. Temperatures range from +16 to +26 °C. The time difference between Moscow and Rio de Janeiro is six hours. The climate in Rio de Janeiro is very similar to subequatorial.
Well forgotten old
In Rio de Janeiro, it was decided to include two more competitions, Rugby and Golf, they had been included in the program before, but their absence was measured in decades.
Talismans
Brazil finally unveiled its mascots for the 2016 games. They became two animals, images of local flora and fauna. Fauna is represented in the form of a yellow animal, which is very similar to a cat, and Flora is represented in the form of a green-blue plant, tree or even flower. Now Brazil must choose names for its animals. Name options: Oba and Eba, Tiba-Tuki and Eskindim, and Vinicius and Tom.
Olympic zone
The organizers built four venues for the competition: Barra, Deodoro, Maracana, Copacabana.
Barra
The Olympic Village, the Olympic Park will be located here, competitions in all water sports, rhythmic and artistic gymnastics will be held, there is also a cycling track, a tennis center, a golf center, boxing, weightlifting, badminton, a basketball court, judo, taekwondo, wrestling and handball. Barra is planned to be the busiest of all the sites.
Deodoro
The military was previously based at this site, and now will host competitions in: equestrianism, modern pentathlon, fencing, rowing slalom, cycling and BMX, and shooting.
Maracana
The stadium where the final matches of the World Cup were held, the opening and closing ceremonies and all football competitions will be held here, other Brazilian cities will also host football competitions - Brasilia, Salvador, Sao Paulo and Belo Horizonte. The Maracanazinho Arena will also host volleyball and the João Havelange Stadium will host athletics.
