South Primorsky Park is located in the Krasnoselsky district of St. Petersburg. The territory of 58 hectares is limited by the streets of Valor, Zakharov, Peterhof highway and Dudergofsky channel.
History of the South Seaside Park
The park was planted in 1970 for the 100th anniversary of Vladimir Lenin and named after him. With a wide alley overlooking the coast of the Gulf of Finland, the architects divided the territory into two parts - the reclaimed northern and the regular southern. At the entrance to the park, a monument was erected with the inscription “100 years of V.I. Lenin", and a little further - the monument "Hammer and Sickle".
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the name of the park was changed to Yuzhno-Primorsky, and in 1999 the monument to the Soviet era was dismantled. In 2005, on May 9, the city authorities restored the fountain at the main entrance and changed the inscription on the monument - now it says "60 years of Victory."
Entertainment inSouth Primorskypark
There are many reservoirs on the territory of the South Seaside Park - at the boat station, visitors can rent boats and catamarans for swimming. There are recreation areas and infrastructure facilities: cafes, comfortable benches, trash cans, toilets.
Most of the park is occupied by the Planet of Summer amusement park, where a team of animators work daily. Face painting specialists paint children's faces with bright colors. Funny clowns hold performances and offer to ride a train or carousel, jump on trampolines or swim in the pools. After sending the child on the rides, adults can take a ticket for the Ferris wheel or rent sports equipment.
The second park area is an untouched forest with narrow paths and sprawling trees. Those who are looking for solitude and peace walk here.
In winter, an outdoor skating rink is poured into the park. Nearby there is a warm locker room, a cafe serving hot drinks and food, and a skate rental.
How to get there
The Seaside Park is open for visits around the clock, but you can get to the attractions only during the Planet of Summer opening hours: on weekends from 11 am to 10 pm, on weekdays from 12 am to 10 pm. Ticket offices are open until 9 pm.
You can get to the park by car - there is convenient parking in front of the entrance. The second option is to use bus 162 or minibus 650A. The next stop is Yuzhno-Primorsky Park.
