A320 Greek Airlines cabin layout. The best seats and layout of the Airbus A320 S7 Airlines cabin
Quantity seats in the Airbus A320 aircraft (Airbus A320) varies (depending on the model and configuration) from 150 passengers in a two-class cabin (2 + 2 seats in business class and 3 + 3 seats in economy class) and up to 180 people in one -class cabin (more detailed information about the characteristics of the liner, as well as its diagrams can be found here -).
Therefore, in order to accurately advise the best places in the A320, you need to know the information about the particular aircraft in which you are going to fly.

First example of an Airbus A320 in a 180 seat configuration in a single class cabin.
Advantages and disadvantages of passenger seats - the best places in the cabin of the Airbus A320.
Seats 1-29, A and F: They are located near the porthole, which can be viewed during the flight (depending on the weather and flight time). No one will bother you when they sit down or get up from their seats. Also, people and flight attendants passing along the aisle are not disturbed.
These places have one drawback - it's hard to get up from it, you have to disturb the neighbors.
Seats from 1-29 B and E: There is no direct access to the window, but you can still look into it. People scurrying down the aisle and flight attendants with carts do not bother.
Locations 1-29 C and D: It is easy to leave your place, for example to the toilet. Also, tall people can stretch their legs into the aisle.
Disadvantages: no access to the window, you have to let two neighbors pass if they want to get up. Also, flight attendants with carts and passengers passing through the cabin can be disturbing.
Seats in row 1. The first row always has a number of advantages and disadvantages, depending on what is more important to you, you make your choice.
Advantages: No one will recline the back of their chair on you. You will receive all drinks and meals first. The distance to the partition or wall can be significant for the legs. You will be the first to exit the aircraft.
Disadvantages: The distance to the wall/partition may be insufficient.
There is enough space for the knees, but stretching and stretching the legs will not work.
Some people find it uncomfortable to stare at the wall in front of them for the entire flight.
In the first place, passengers with children are most often located. You run the risk of being next door to a baby who will cry the entire flight.
Tables, which are usually located in the back of the chair in front, are located in one of the armrests. Because of this, the armrest does not move, and the seats can be a little narrower.
12 and 13 row They have an advantage over everyone else, as they are located next to the emergency exit. Because of this, there is additional free legroom in front of them.
However, there is a strong possibility that the seats in row 12 or do not recline, or have a limitation in this.
Seats in row 11 slightly worse than the standard ones, since there is an emergency exit right behind them, because of this, they most likely either do not recline or have a restriction.
Seats in the last, 29/30 row Not only are they closest to the toilets and kitchen, but most likely the seats do not recline. All in all, not exactly first class. you will be accompanied by the sounds of the descent tank and the slamming of doors throughout the flight.
Seats at the front of the aircraft have several advantages.
First- what the flight attendants serve during the flight you will get first. It happens that by the end of the salon any drinks run out and you have to be content with what is left.
When traveling, people try to choose the most comfortable way to fly, trusted companies and planes with best reviews. Many do not tolerate air travel and try to book seats on the liner with maximum comfort for themselves. Consider one of the most popular models among air transportation companies - the Airbus A320.
Interior configuration features
This aircraft belongs to the category of medium-haul passenger aircraft, flying from 6 km to 150 km. The original version was an Airbus A320-100, which was soon modified with an additional fuel tank and changed the wing tip of the aircraft. The configuration of both models is practically the same, except for the number of seats in the business sector.
For information. If we compare other liners of similar size and class, the A320 surpasses them with a spacious cabin for passengers, wide places under hand luggage, convenient hatches for loading luggage and a large deck capacity for cargo.
Passengers are given access to change the level of lighting near their seat, which is important during a long flight. Manufacturers updated the monitors in the computer network of the cabin and cockpit, the displays were replaced with LCD equipment. The convenience of the flight at a low cost ensured the popularity of the Airbus A320 among passengers.
Seats
When considering the Airbus A 320, the cabin layout suggests several options for the location of seats in the cabin, but all of them are designed for maximum passenger comfort. Seats are mounted on both sides, and the space between them is spacious enough to move around the cabin. There are 2 comfort classes in total: Economy and Business class.
Business class sector
5 rows in the first and 2 rows in the second cabin configuration are allocated for places of increased convenience. The space between the seats is limited, and the 1st line itself has its own characteristics:
- Seats in business class have more recline, but there are no seats or reclining seats in front of the first row;
- The increased comfort sector is rarely used by passengers with children, but there are mounts for cradles near the seats in the first row;
- On the A320 series, the footrests are installed on the seats of the previous row, so this convenience is not available in the first line of business class seats.
Economy class
In the Airbus A 320, the cabin is divided into economy and business class, and starting from row 6 in both configurations there is an economy sector, separated by a partition from the rows superior comfort. In the second configuration, where the business class is only 2 rows, this part of the cabin already begins with the 3rd row of seats.
3 (6) row
Seats in the first row of the economy class have their advantages and disadvantages:
- There is limited spacing between rows, but there will be no reclining seats ahead due to a partition, allowing for some extra space;
- This row of seats will receive food and water first as flight attendants move out of the business area;
- The partition makes it difficult to stretch the legs, but the knees are much more spacious due to the lack of front seats;
- There are cradle mounts in each wall, which can lead to flying in the company of children;
- The view is closed by a wall that encloses another sector of the aircraft cabin.
8 (12) and 9 (13) rows
These seats are located near the emergency hatches, which is not very convenient for passengers - the backs are locked vertically. This gives an advantage to passengers in the 9th row of seats (13th in the second configuration) - there is significantly more legroom, which is very convenient for long-haul flights. If a neighbor needs to visit the toilet, he will freely pass by due to the sufficient space. The central seats are located more freely, and closer to the emergency hatches there is a slight misalignment of the backs, which can cause discomfort when sitting for a long time.
10 (14th) row
Seats on the 10th row (14th if the Airbus is of the second configuration) are the most convenient, since they are located immediately behind the emergency exit hatches from the aircraft. The legroom is sufficient for the passage and free location of the passenger, but it will not be possible to place things, since free passage to the hatches is required.
Important! Pregnant women, small children or the elderly should not be in these places. In an emergency, you will have to provide assistance to both passengers for evacuation and the crew, if necessary.
24 (29th) row
On the 24th (29th) row, the aisle seats are not suitable for a comfortable flight, because there is a toilet compartment nearby. Thus, there will often be people waiting for their turn to use the restroom near the seat backs of these seats. The flow of visitors to the toilet will constantly pass by these places against the backdrop of a constant drain of water, smell and sounds from the sanitary facilities.
25 (30th) row
This row in the aircraft cabin is the last and is considered the most inconvenient, since it is located directly next to the restroom. Because of this, the backs of the seats do not recline, and the toilet door closes almost at the passenger's shoulder. There are smells from the restroom and the sound of water. These places are considered the worst and are not recommended for purchase.
All seating arrangements in the Airbus A320 are standard for all models of aircraft in this group and do not have any particular disadvantages or advantages in terms of comfort during flights.
Airbus A320 in various airlines
The Airbus A320 is used by many companies for flights to various destinations. This Ural Airlines, Aeroflot, Russia, S7, Yamal, Air Arabia and others. Air carriers can change the arrangement of the cabin for the convenience of passengers, but for the Airbus A320, the location of the seats remains the same in most cases.
Air Arabia aircraft - Airbus A320
The carrier company Air Arabia is a typical low-cost airline that uses only one model of liners. In that Airbus airlines The A320 differs from others in its cabin layout - it has 168 seats, not 180. 12 seats have been removed to improve passenger comfort, since the main flight directions last more than 3 hours. The best places in these liners are in the first four lines of seats, as well as in the 12th, near the emergency hatch. These seats will require a surcharge when purchasing a ticket.
Airbus A320 in Rossiya Airlines
The Rossiya company (Moscow) uses the Airbus320 of a standard configuration with the first three rows of increased comfort. The first row behind the cockpit is recognized as less convenient, since it is in this place that there is a partition that interferes with stretching the legs and viewing the seated passenger. Economy class seats start from the 4th row, in which the seats recline, and the bypass with meals for the stewards begins in ascending numbering. The most uncomfortable places are at the end of the cabin, on the 29th row. This is due to the proximity of the toilets and the impossibility of reclining the backs of the seats.
Airbus A320 at S7 Airlines
S7 Airlines also uses this airliner, and in the seating plan of the Airbus A320 cabin there are no differences from similar models of Aeroflot. Airbus industrie A320 is identical to its 3rd row to the 6th in the Aeroflot airliner, and the seat lines from 10 to 12 are similar to the 8-10th row of Aeroflot.
Airbus A320 at Ural Airlines
Ural Airlines offers 3 rows of business class and 24 rows in the Economy sector. Of all 156 seats on the plane, the 10th row is located near the emergency hatches, while there are restrictions on the category of passengers for these seats.
Airbus A320 in Red Wings
The aircraft fleet of the Red Wings air carrier is constantly replenished with new models of airbuses, including the Airbus A320 Red Wings. The landing pattern is similar to other models of this group.
Salon of the Airbus A320 of the Red Wings company.
Before buying tickets for charter and regular flights you should clarify the landing plan from the photo on the official website of the carrier company and the availability of tickets in the online help system. The convenience of flying is an extremely important component of any trip.
The Airbus A320 is a narrow-body passenger aircraft developed by the Airbus concern. Serial production of the liner continues from 1987 to the present day.
Salon overview and layout of the best places
The Airbus A320 with a two-class layout of the passenger cabin (business and economy) can accommodate 150 passengers.
The business class cabin accommodates (according to the passenger cabin layout) six seats, occupying rows with numbers from 1 to 3. There is a wider (compared to the economy class cabin) central aisle, and the seats are arranged according to the “2-2” pattern. The business class is located in the forward part of the passenger cabin of the Airbus A320, has softer seats and a slightly more varied menu than for economy class passengers. The distances between the chairs here are large, which ensures proper rest for the legs even for tall people.
The best seats in business class are in the second row, especially at the windows. Somewhat unsuccessful are the places of the first and third rows. This is due to the fact that the seats of the first row, although they have more legroom, are at the same time located directly at the toilet and utility rooms. This feature causes sometimes heavy traffic here, which can seriously interfere with relaxing holiday. The third row seats are located close to the partition separating the business class cabin from the economy class. The movement of attendants and the noise coming from the economy class can also cause some inconvenience.
Behind the business class cabin is the economy class with a narrower central aisle, as well as seats arranged in a 3-3 pattern. Economy class seats are occupied (according to the scheme) in rows numbered from 4 to 27.
The best seats for economy class are in the fourth row. This is due to their somewhat remoteness from the noisy middle and somewhat more legroom for passengers. Not the best for the economy class are the seats located at the very end (in the 27th row). Their inconvenience lies in the proximity of the toilet and utility rooms, which can cause a lot of inconvenience. When booking tickets, these not-so-best places should be avoided if possible.
Airbus A320 variants
To date, there are 4 variants of the Airbus A320: A318, A319, A320 and A321.
The Airbus A318 is the most compact of the entire A320 family, with seating capacity ranging from 107 in two-class to 132 in one-class. One of the most important qualities of this liner is that it can take off from shorter runways.
It is also worth noting that it was on the Airbus A318 that the advanced on-board systems were first installed, which are now equipped with all aircraft of the A320 family.
Commercial use of the aircraft began in 2003.
The Airbus A319 is a slightly shortened version of the Airbus A320 by removing the last two rows of passenger seats in the economy class cabin. Thanks to this, the aircraft can use a shorter runway. The base model has a passenger capacity of 116 people, but there is another version that can carry up to 156 people.
Operation of the A319 began in 1996.
Airbus A319 has the following modifications:
- Airbus A319LR - the main difference from the base model is additional fuel tanks, which allow to increase the flight range up to 8000 km.
- Airbus A319CJ is a business modification with an increased flight range.
- The Airbus A320 is a narrow-body aircraft with a maximum passenger capacity of 180 people. Commercial use has continued since 1988.
- Airbus A321 is an extended version of the Airbus A320 with increased (up to 220 people) passenger capacity. The aircraft is medium-haul (flight range - up to 5950 km). Operated since 1994.
Specifications A320
Structurally, the Airbus A320 is a low-wing aircraft. The wing is swept. Plumage - vertical single-keel. The power plant of the Airbus is represented by two turbofan engines, the brand of which depends on the model of the aircraft.
The Airbus A320 was created as a replacement for the obsolete A300 aircraft of the Airbus concern, as well as to compete with the Boeing 727 and Boeing 737 aircraft that had gained at that time (mid-80s of the XX century). The main innovation was the complete modernization of on-board electronics, as well as an improved dashboard: cathode ray tubes were used instead of pointer instruments.
Another important difference between the A320 family and the early Airbus aircraft is that instead of standard steering wheels for pilots, a sidestick (side control stick) was used, which, coupled with modern electronics at that time, made it easier to control the aircraft and limit its crew to two pilots.

Many people love to travel, preferring to choose the best airlines for themselves and their loved ones. But still, some passengers find it hard to endure the flight. Because of this, it is extremely important to choose the right seats in the cabin. Let's deal with the design nuances of one of the most popular models for most airlines - the Airbus A320.
This liner is capable of carrying passengers over the longest distances - up to 6,150 kilometers. Initially designed two series of Airbus A320: 100-200 Sharklets. Both series are almost identical. But today there is only one model in operation, the one that is listed first. The linkers refused to promote the second version of the design. Today, most people prefer to fly on board this series. Aeroflot Group offers 68 such aircraft for passengers.
The first airliner was created in 1987 and very quickly gained popularity among passengers. The plane can accommodate up to 200 people. Rossiya Airlines, which is part of the Aeroflot Group, has several boards with a capacity of 168 seats.Initially, this aircraft included a sufficient number of positive aspects: convenient luggage placement thanks to large shelves, voluminous hatches for loading luggage and a fairly roomy cabin.
At the beginning of the 21st century, the developers improved the model and added some useful features for passengers. Shelves for luggage have become larger, the brightness of lighting has increased - today each passenger independently controls the level of light in the cabin - the interior has changed inside. Also, the computer network system was completely updated, the monitors in the cabin were replaced with LCD displays. Nowadays, this airliner is very popular with passengers due to the comfort of conditions and minimum cost flight.
This aircraft is one of the most comfortable Airbus aircraft. The manufacturers have taken good care of the convenience of the flight, the quality of service and savings on tickets. But in order to choose the most comfortable seats for a comfortable flight, you should know the location of the seats on the plane. We will consider a model that belongs to Aeroflot in order to evaluate the positive aspects and identify the shortcomings of the cabin of this airliner.
Seats
The location of the seats in the cabin is provided in several options. But each is the most comfortable for passengers. There are rows of seats on both sides. Moreover, these aircraft models are provided with cabins for two classes of comfort. There are such variations for each of the rows:
- four seats;
- five chairs;
- six places.
Traditionally, business class seats are located in the head part of the board and involve a 2 + 2 layout. Airbus is no exception. In the design that we will consider, under the seats with an increased level of comfort of the designer, the first five rows were taken away. Distance between seats t ut is quite small, but such an opening is quite enough to move around quietly without interfering with a neighbor.
People who purchase tickets for the first line take into account several special nuances of this line. The developers took care of the children and attached a cradle holder to the partition. In addition, it is excluded here that the back will lean back on the traveler - after all, in front of the seats of the first line there is a partition of the pilot's cabin. However, there are no foot steps.
Seats in the last row of business class the best choice for people who want to work or just sit in silence during the flight. The proximity of a noisy common room will not live up to such expectations.
Now let's move on to places. In the model under consideration, these are the seats, which are located from the sixth to the twenty-fifth rows. A detailed analysis is required here, because some of the chairs here are equipped with mobile armrests, which slightly reduce the free space for the passenger seat. In addition, there are also improved places - space seats. True, in order to travel to such a place, the passenger undertakes to comply with the requirements stated by the airline. Yes, and for these seats they usually ask for an additional surcharge.
Economy cabin details
Let's move on to studying the general cabin of the liner. The seats of the sixth row are located behind a partition that separates both classes. These chairs have positive and negative sides. We list these nuances as follows:
- Seat extension restrictions. There is no way to fully recline the back of the chair for a comfortable stay. This inconvenience is due to the very small distance between the rows.
- Choice of food. Delivering food and drinks starts from this row of places.
- Small space in front of the seat. There is enough room for a comfortable position of the knees, but you will not be able to fully extend your legs.
- Probability of neighborhood with babies. Holders for cradles are fixed on the partition, so the presence of passengers with babies on adjacent seats is not excluded.
- Limited view. Not every person will like to look at the wall or ceiling all the time. It is advisable to choose these places for people who plan to sleep or work during the flight.
In the seventh row of such models, chairs 7B, 7C, 7D, 7E are equipped with mobile armrests. Accordingly, it is better for people of dense physique to think about such a choice - after all, the design provides for an increase in seating space. Seats in the eighth and ninth rows do not provide for the possibility of expanding the chair. The reason for this here is the emergency hatches located on the 9th and 10th rows. In this case, one cannot definitely call the seats the worst places, but still they are located near the emergency exits, which is not very convenient for passengers.
Tenth row seats 10B, 10C, 10D, 10E are slightly more expensive than other seats on board. These are the notorious space seats. These chairs have a full-fledged function of reclining the backs. In addition, experts find here a lot of positive aspects. The distance between the previous row and these seats is quite large, so you can put your feet comfortably. You won't need to disturb your neighbors to get up.
Seats 10F and 10A cannot be called the most comfortable, as they are located next to the hatch, as a result of which the chairs themselves are curved. The seats are slightly slanted due to the proximity to the emergency evacuation hatch. But the plus of these rows is in the presence of free legroom and a full-fledged reclining function.
All chairs marked B, C, D and E from rows 11 to 25 are equipped with mobile armrests. Keep this in mind when checking in for your flight. Moreover, the seats located on the last line suggest the inability to expand the chair. The reason for this is the proximity to the partition, behind which there are toilets.
Nuances of choice
The gallery of the article contains photos that make it easy to determine what the Airbus A320 looks like, the interior layout (), the best seats and seats that have flaws. In salons of increased comfort, it is optimal to purchase boarding pass on seats from the second to the fourth rows. By the way, a different series of the liner, which involves reducing the cabin of this class to 2 rows, takes away the choice.
If we consider standard seats, here experts especially note places 10B, 10C, 10D, 10E. Although these places can be called the best, there are still negative sides: it is strictly forbidden to place luggage at the bottom of the seat so as not to block the exit to the emergency hatches. It will be quite comfortable to travel on chairs marked A and F - after all, these are seats by the windows.
The rows near the emergency exit doors do not accommodate people with children, pets or the disabled. After all, the function of opening the hatch in a non-standard situation is assigned to such passengers, so physically healthy people who do not carry oversized luggage sit here.
Now let's move on to ranking of the worst places on board. Seats 24D and 24C (in another modification they are in the 29th row) are unlikely to live up to the best expectations - not everyone will like to fly next to the toilet cubicles. But the worst places are in the tail of the cabin. This is 25 (30) row. First, this line borders on the toilets. Secondly, the seat backs do not recline here. Not very convenient when you want to relax, but people will pass by you all the time, and sometimes there are rather big queues for the toilet. You have to listen to the drain and the slamming of the door all the time. Usually tickets are bought for such a row when all the seats are already taken.
Other Features
As we have noticed, the Airbus Industrie A320 Jet has positive and negative sides.Armchairs that are located near the window are, of course, good - many people like to look at the clouds. But it is worth remembering that this is real only in daylight and sunny weather outside. If you are traveling at night, you will not be able to see anything through the porthole.
An important plus in the absence of the need to skip the neighbors. But the negative side of such places lies in the inability to leave the chair without disturbing other people. For people who plan to sleep the entire flight, these seats are suitable.
When choosing among economy class seats, try to avoid the last row
The chairs that are near the aisle are good for the convenience of leaving the place on their own. But there are also negative sides - if your neighbor needs a toilet, he will ask you to skip it. In addition, passing board workers often hurt passengers occupying the seats that are extreme to the aisle. However, if a person is flying with a child or there is a need for frequent visits to the toilet, these places will be a good solution.
We will give some recommendations for choosing suitable places. It is optimal to ask an Aeroflot employee to help you choose the seat that is optimal in terms of parameters. Another option is to print out the layout of the cabin and deliberately choose a seat when the plan is in front of your eyes.
Experts consider it inappropriate to choose places where there is no folding seat function. Do not buy for a number of nearby toilets or other service rooms. These simple rules contribute to increasing the comfort of the trip.
Expert advice on choosing seats in the Airbus A320
We have considered what an A 320 aircraft is. The scheme, the best seats in the cabin and the criteria for choosing seats will help beginners to correctly assess the situation when checking in a flight. In addition, the article contains points that you should pay attention to when planning a trip. If you choose the right place for yourself, the flight time will be unforgettable for you.

The A320 development program was launched in March 1984. The A320 made its first flight on February 22, 1987. It used CFM International CFM56-5A1 engines. After passing flight tests, on February 26, 1988, the JAA (Joint Aviation Authorities) certificate was received and the aircraft began to arrive at Air France. And the airline "" became the first customer from the USA.
The original version, the A320-100, was built in small numbers, but then an improved version of the A320-200 was produced. Improvements mainly concerned the increase in the volume of fuel tanks. The A320-200 received its final certification in November 1988. Since then, the A320-200 has grown into a family of medium-haul airliners, the Airbus S.A.S consortium, based on which the following models have been produced: A318, A319 and A321.
Many technical innovations were made to the aircraft design. The A320 was the first passenger airliner to be equipped with a fly-by-wire control system. The advantage of this system is that a computer with a given program controls many parameters of the aircraft, for example, it does not allow excess angle of attack or overload. The liner is equipped with EFIS digital avionics from Thomson CSF. The A320 also uses a relatively high percentage of composite materials compared to previous models.
The A320-200 is powered by two CFMI CFM56-5B or IAE V2500 turbojet engines with a thrust of 113 kN to 120 kN each.
Aircraft models have different variants of installed engines. The serial number of the modification depends on the type of installed engine. For example: A320-211 uses CFM56-5A1 motors, A320-231 is equipped with IAE V2500-A1 motors, etc.
Airbus a320 salon
Compared to other aircraft in its class, the A320 has a wider cabin, ample cargo space with large doors for easier loading and unloading. And the low cost of operation and maintenance is an attractive factor for low-cost airlines. For example, the American low-cost airline JetBlue Airways Corporation, located in New York, purchased 233 of these aircraft for its air fleet. Other low-cost carriers with significant A320 orders include Britain's EasyJet Company Limited and Malaysia's Air Asia.

To date, Airbus S.A.S is developing an improved A320 model. The new version of the A320 was named A320neo. The New Engine Option program is the latest step in the A320 upgrade. The Neo modernization program includes such improvements as: weight reduction, a new, modern interior with an expanded luggage compartment. The new airframe will be made using new composite materials. And thanks to the installation of new fuel-efficient CFM International LEAP-X and P&W PW1000G engines, it is planned to reduce fuel consumption by 10-15 percent.
Compared to previous A320 models, the new A320neo will produce less noise and emissions. The wing of the aircraft will also undergo modifications, in particular the wingtips, which now, according to the standard, will have the shape of a shark fin, the so-called “sharklets”. Such a modification of the wing reduces fuel consumption by 2-3 percent. Thanks to innovations, it will be possible to increase the flight range by 950 km and increase the carrying capacity.
