Lyrical introduction. For the third day now I’ve been sitting and looking at the hanging stone and thinking, where to start the story about my trip to Ergaki?.. I haven’t come up with one. Therefore, I'll start from the beginning. And first, I was going to go to Solovki in August with a friend. I got ready and got ready, and on one of the working days at the end of July I chatted on ICQ with my old friend Anton varulven . Or rather, my friend is young and handsome! And also a great traveler! So, he just returned from Ergak (a mountain range in the Sayan Mountains).
I heard about the Sayans, but Ergaki - it was a new word for me!
On the same day, before lunch, a friend gave the exact answer about Solovki - she won’t go, and she doesn’t want to, and they don’t really allow her to go on vacation. I was upset, and then I thought - maybe I should rush to these same Ergaki?
I am writing to Anton in ICQ:
- Do you really recommend, recommend, recommend that I go there? Or do you just recommend?
Having received a triple affirmative answer and the telephone number of the head of the camp in Ergaki, I call this very head, whose name is Vlad:
- I will arrive on August 19! For a week! Take it with you to the mountains!
And they took it! Still would! won't you take me? :)
And here I am, already three days! Like! Very! Well, now everything is in order.
The first day.
On Friday, August 19, 2011, at 9.23 pm, we loaded the car with ourselves, backpacks, and groceries and drove out of Krasnoyarsk towards Abakan. A sleepless night in the car to Abakan, after Abakan another 200 km with kopecks towards the Western Sayans to the Ministry of Emergency Situations base and we are almost there. We unload, leave our backpacks for temporary storage with the EMCHEEs, and in a GAZ named “Sadko” we drive who knows where through potholes and deep streams to a place called Stone Town. Without waiting for me to need a vomit bag from the plane, Vlad, seeing my face turning pale before his eyes, carefully transferred me from the back to the cabin next to him. It was a CORRECT and REASONABLE decision on his part! :) Having dropped us off at the hiking trail, GAZ waited for our return, and we walked to Stone Town.
What is Stone Town? A pile of stone slabs in the form of bizarrely shaped rocks.
I understand that no one can say for sure how they arose? Who is the creator of this “city” - nature or man?
Although I trained two weeks before leaving (I walked up to the 11th floor and covered tens of kilometers on a bike), as soon as the trail went up even a little, my breathing immediately became unsteady and every 5 minutes of the journey I needed a break. Thank God I wasn’t the only one there.
And then there were kurums - heaps of stones of different sizes piled up by any and all people, over which you first had to crawl down, and then (when you returned back up). This is some fun, I’ll tell you honestly!
This is Vlad - our leader, he is the head of the camp, he is the instructor, he is the ideological organizer of this project, aka Gosha, aka Goga...
I thought I would die on the first day! Still alive!
I thought I was going to die during the hike on the second day! And she also survived!
To be honest, I thought so every day, looking at the height we had to climb along the route!
- What? - I said.
- Are you saying that we will get there? AND I??? will I get there? Are you absolutely sure???
- You'll get there! There's no escape!
So I, poor thing, suffered every day while walking there and back, and upon returning to the camp I was filled with pride in myself, although I still didn’t understand how I was able to get there?
