Anomalous zones in Belarus, in which places you need to be careful. Ghosts and flying objects: where are the most anomalous zones of Belarus located? Anomalous phenomena in Belarus

Every Belarusian can immediately name a dozen Belarusian attractions. There are places that are less poppy. And there are completely reserved ones, known only to those who have long, closely and deeply studied Belarusian ethnography and history. One of these people is the Belarusian culturologist and historian Gleb Lobodenko, who conducted a tour of the protected and amazing places of the northern part of Belarus - namely the Glubokoe, Lepel, Ushachi, Dokshitsy and Polotsk regions.
1. Church with basement crypts
You can start with the city of Glubokoye - this is a regional center in the Vitebsk region. There are several interesting sights here. The main one is Cathedral Christmas Holy Mother of God. It is located in the historical center of the city on September 17 Square. This is the largest Orthodox church in Belarus - it can accommodate up to 3 thousand believers.
The cathedral was built in 1654 and was originally a Catholic church monastery belonged to the Carmelite Order. In 1735, the building was rebuilt - the main facade and interior were changed. A huge, majestic temple in the Vilna Baroque style - even Napoleon, who stayed in Glubokoye during the hostilities of 1812, admired its beauty. In 1864, after the Kalinovsky uprising, the monastery was closed, the buildings of the temple and monastery were transferred to the Orthodox deanery. The church was partially rebuilt and in 1878 reconsecrated as orthodox cathedral in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. At the beginning of the 20th century, a central fifth dome was built here in the Byzantine style, giving the temple a traditionally Orthodox look. The dome burned down during the Great Patriotic War. The carved gate with gilding from the 17th century has survived to this day. While Glubokoe was part of Poland, in the building former monastery the Glubokoe eldership was located, and during the Great Patriotic War the headquarters of the Russian Liberation Army of Colonel Gil-Rodionov was located - before it went over to the side of the partisans. After the war, a creamery was established here. However, the church continued to operate, although it was repeatedly threatened with closure. Today, the main shrine of the temple is the icon of the Mother of God “It is Worthy to Eat,” transferred to Glubokoye in 1911 from the holy Mount Athos.
Be sure to visit the cellars, the entrance to which is hidden under the floor at the entrance to the church, advises Gleb Lobodenko. “There are a lot of ancient burial places there, and you can listen to stories from local abbots for hours.
2. Muncheisen's grave
Very close by in the local city cemetery is Müncheisen’s grave. Of course, not the same Karl Friedrich Hieronymus. In the deep earth lies a certain Ferdinand von Munchausen along with his wife Wilhelmina. Whether they are relatives of that same Munchausen and what fate brought them to Belarus is unknown. Nevertheless, many tourists believe that Munchausen is the one. Therefore, a very unexpected museum for Belarus may appear in Glubokoe - the museum of Baron Munchausen, who pulled himself out of the swamp by his hair and flew on a cannonball.
3. Belarusian Leaning Tower of Pisa
In the village of Porplishche, Dokshitsy district, there is a wooden Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord. This is one of the oldest wooden churches that has survived to this day, built in 1627. Initially, it was Uniate, but in the 19th century it was transferred to the Orthodox and partially rebuilt: a three-tier bell tower with a vestibule in the lower tier was added to the main facade of the church.
In 2009, the top of the church was covered with plastic siding, and later they began to “shackle in plastic” the interior of the unique temple. Local historians sounded the alarm. As a result, fragments of a carved wooden altar from the 17th century have been preserved in the modern iconostasis. The church has a leaning tower, so many people call it the Belarusian Leaning Tower of Pisa.
4. The most inaccessible lake in Belarus
Lake Ginkovo is the third deepest in the country: 44 meters! For comparison: the maximum depth of Naroch is 24 meters. The lake is shaped like a sickle. Ginkovo is almost unknown and very little studied. According to Belarusian divers, this is the wildest and most inaccessible among the Belarusian lakes. It is also interesting as a natural monument. In the northern part of the lake, in the cliff of a steep slope, grottoes with semicircular stone arches and openings were discovered.
In fact, there is only one gentle shore near the lake - from the side of the village of Sakhnovichi. There is a clearing for relaxation with a fire pit and gazebos. In summer there is no crowd here - locals sunbathe and swim. But on all other sides the reservoir is surrounded by high, steep slopes covered with forests and dissected by ravines. In order to understand all the beauty of Ginkovo, it is worth looking at it from the high bank - the view is simply mesmerizing. Many travelers are sure that Ginkovo is our Belarusian Baikal. It is narrow, long, deep and lies in such an unusual hollow. This is not a typical landscape for our area.
5. The only Belarusian cave
It is near this lake, from the side of the village of Sakhnovichi, that the only cave found in Belarus is located.
We do not recommend going there for people with claustrophobia and those who do not watch their figure. And the rest, subject to safety precautions, can try it, the guide advises.
The cave is approximately 10 meters long and consists of one large gallery with a fairly large sand conglomerate hanging from the roof and several grottoes on the sides. You can sit quietly in it and look around. The feeling is incredible!
According to legend, a real dragon is hiding in this cave - tsmok in Belarusian. But this legend is modern. There is another one - about the sisters' gold. They say that two sisters, Feofania and Eleanor, once lived in these places. Their husbands, who served at the king's court in Warsaw, gave their wives luxurious gifts - gold jewelry, rings, chains, dishes and all kinds of jewelry. During the next partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the spouses of both sisters were arrested and taken to Russia. Frightened by reprisals, the sisters hid family valuables in a cave, which was located on the steep shore of the lake. But before that, they turned to a local sorcerer for help, who cast a mysterious spell on all the treasures. Later the sisters died, and no one has seen their jewelry since then. They say the valuables are still somewhere near Lake Ginkovo. Only in order to see them, you need to pronounce the words from that very spell.
6. Church of St. Veronica from 1728 with secret underground passages
The Bernardine complex appeared in the village of Selishche, Ushachi district, in 1674. And in 1728, with donations from the Polotsk captain Jan Ragoza, the Bernardines began to build a huge stone monastery and the Church of St. Veronica by those standards, the construction of which continued until the beginning of the 19th century.
The architecture of the church resembles the Polotsk Jesuit Church. After the uprising of 1830, the monastery was closed, and the church was converted into an Orthodox church. In 1867, in the neighboring village of Kublishcheno, the church was closed, and all of it interior decoration was moved to the Church of St. Veronica. The roof and top of the towers were destroyed during the Great Patriotic War.
Local children told many funny tales about the church. For example, that an underground passage leads from the basement of the church to the Ushachi cemetery. Start underground tunnels There really are some in the church, but they all end after a couple of meters. One local boy said that during the war the church was used as a shelter for children and that his grandmother served there. According to him, there was a stove in the altar, and under the basement there was an underground river.
An underground river is unlikely, but secret underground passages in those years they built constantly,” Gleb Lobodenko shares his thoughts. - I don’t know how to get to the cemetery in Ushachi, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised by the presence of an underground passage to the nearest forest. Another thing is that no one is simply interested in checking this.
7. The only monument to Tsmok in the country
In the very center of Lepel, right on the shore of the Lepel Reservoir, there is a beautiful park. In 2013, the only monument to Tsmok in Belarus was opened here.
Tsmok in Belarusian mythology is the ruler of all waters, both earthly and heavenly. Tsmoki gained the greatest popularity thanks to the novel by Vladimir Korotkevich “Christ Sprung in Garodny”. In his work, the classic convincingly tells that the last Belarusian Tsmok lives in one of the Lepel lakes. The author of the sculpture was Lev Aganov, the creator of another famous work in Lepel - the monument to Lev Sapieha. Tsmok turned out to be absolutely not menacing on the outside and, judging by his eyes, very kind on the inside - such a small bronze dragon.
This year, they decided to add popularity to Lepel Tsmoka, and at the same time to their organization, in “Lepelraigaz”. Near the entrance of their enterprise, workers installed their own Tsmok - but angrier, decorated with tongues of blue flame.
8. Belarusian Stonehenge and giant stone crosses
Near the village of Bikulnichi, Polotsk region, on the shore of Lake Yanovo, there is amazing place. Scientifically, it is called the ancient near-horizon observatory. Essentially this is the Belarusian Stonehenge.
Local old-timers say that once upon a time there were huge boulders in one place, says Gleb Lobodenko. - But over time, these mysterious blocks turned out to be dispersed throughout the field, but not just like that, but in a certain order.
The study was even funded by UNDP. It turned out that all the boulders are oriented to the cardinal points and have various notches on them. What exactly this all means and who created it remains to be determined by scientists.
There is another mysterious place near the village of Babtsy, Dokshitsy district. There are 26 ancient stone crosses here. Some are small - literally 30 centimeters in height, others - taller than human height!
It is still unknown at what time they were created,” says Lobodenko. “It’s not even clear whether they are gravestones, or whether they were carved for other purposes.”

Homestead church near Polotsk
This old church is incredibly picturesque. It is located in the village of Sarya. It was built as a church by local landowners Lopatinsky, but later the building was transferred Orthodox Church, services are still held there. Officially it is called the “Holy Assumption Church”. Beginner travelers will be greatly surprised.
An early 17th-century fortified house that is used as a mental hospital for criminals
Previously, this building was a fortified possession of a feudal lord, and several decades ago it was transformed into a high-security psychiatric hospital: criminals who were declared insane are kept here.
Once upon a time it was impossible to get here. I remember how for a very long time I explained to the guards with machine guns that I was a tourist, and not an accomplice of one of the local maniacs. But a few years ago, tourists began to be allowed into the hospital, so today it is absolutely easy to visit it: you just need to fill out a log and leave your data.
Hospital staff don't really like tourists taking pictures, but you can still take pictures. Particularly violent patients are kept in a separate building, and less dangerous criminals serve their sentences here.
It is not only the modern purpose of this object that is interesting, but also the building itself. This is a fairly large structure with thick walls and fortifications. Such monuments are very rare. There is only one like this in Belarus.
It is located in the village of Gaityunishki, Grodno region. The main thing is to have your passport with you, since the village is located in the border zone.
In addition to the fortress house itself, you can also visit the chapel-tomb, which stands nearby right in the middle of the field.
500-year-old functioning temple-fortress in Synkovichi
The site is well known among travelers, but ordinary people rarely come here. This is a functioning Orthodox church, which was built at the beginning of the 16th century.
The temple has defensive towers as well as machicolations. Essentially, these are niches on the upper floors of the building from which you can throw stones or pour out hot oil. Whether they were used or not is a big question, but the system is interesting.
This is one of the oldest churches in Belarus. During the day it is most often open, but if there is no one there, you can call the priest (the number used to hang on the building) and ask to let you in.
Abandoned tomb near Drogichin
Perhaps the Ozheshko tomb in the village of Zakozel is the most interesting in the country. It was built relatively recently - in the 19th century, so it is well preserved. The last time I was there was several years ago. At that time, it was even possible to find the remains of old coffins. She looks really impressive. And the place is unbeaten.
There is a similar tomb in the village of Grushevka not far from Baranovichi. It is not so atmospheric (although there is also something to see there), but it is not so far from Minsk.
A picturesque German cemetery from the First World War
It’s worth going there in the fall: fallen leaves give the place a special charm. The cemetery is located near Golshany in the village of Desyatniki - getting there is not a problem. There are hundreds of graves with lying concrete crosses preserved there.
In the center of the cemetery there is a huge monument on which sits an eagle with its wings spread, as if sheltering the dead soldiers.
Where to find deer, elk and bison, and where to go for a picnic, says photographer Dmitry Molochko
Freely grazing herds of bison and mating games of deer
It is not advisable to go into the forest at random and try to see something interesting there. But if you know where, for example, the feeders of wild animals are, you can find very cool places. There are many of these in Nalibokskaya Pushcha.
When I went there for the first time, a huge herd of bison blocked my way. It's a very exciting sight, although it does get a little scary.
In addition, there is a large population of deer, you can see elk, lynx, bear or wolves. Although a chance encounter with predators is extremely rare and not always a good option.
I would recommend going there in the fall, when deer are mating. Roaring males in the fog are such a beauty. Of course, it is best to go early in the morning or late in the evening, when the animals are not hiding in the thicket. In addition, at this time the deer’s sense of fear is dulled, and you can get very close to them.
Where can you find moose
Almost the largest population of moose is concentrated in the Braslav Lakes region. This is our Belarusian Alaska. There they can be found anywhere - even on the side of the road, even near an apple tree in the village. They have become accustomed to the presence of humans and therefore are not afraid; they can easily eat the aspen tree near your car.
The best season is spring or late winter, when they come out for winter crops, and also in September during the rut. Finding a moose in the fall is not at all difficult: you can just follow its roar.
Waterfall on the Vyata River
Belarus even has its own waterfall! It is also located near Braslav - in the village of Prudniki. This waterfall is man-made, not natural, but that doesn’t make it any less interesting. At the beginning of the twentieth century, Olgerd Oskerko built a power plant on the banks of the Vyata, which was supposed to supply energy to the local paper mill. To make it work more efficiently, it was decided to build a wall more than two meters high from stone. This is how this waterfall turned out.
Walk through an atmospheric swamp
Probably, the Yelnya swamp is one of the most atmospheric in Belarus. The best time to go there is in the fall, when the cranes migrate. In the evenings they flock to the swamp, and it looks amazing. You raise your head, and there are hundreds of “bombers” with huge wings. Looks very beautiful against the sunset.
The place itself is wild, covered with moss, with small birch trees. Not long ago, an ecological trail was equipped there, towers were built, and benches were installed.
However, there is nowhere to stay for the night, except to go to Miory. But you can just go for a day and wander around with a camera.
One of the founders of the Meridian28 project for exploring unexplored places in Belarus, Leonid Uvarov, talks about places that are unlikely to be included in tourist collections
320 pillboxes near Minsk
Belarus is a treasure trove military history. We have preserved a lot of unique objects. The Minsk fortified area is a famous place among travelers, but it takes a very long time to explore it: there are 320 pillboxes. Most of them are unused and abandoned, but are in the public domain. They are located in a semicircle around Minsk, and getting to them is very easy.
Some are located on the territory of dachas - where, of course, they are not in the best condition. In the rest you can find a lot of military artifacts and traces of military operations. To find something interesting, it is better to go there in early spring or late autumn, when there is no high vegetation and snow.
One of the most beautiful palaces in Belarus, which time has not spared
The Umestovsky Palace in the village of Zhemyslavl is an old abandoned estate. It is officially protected, but in my experience it is not difficult to visit.
The palace was supposed to be a copy of the Polish royal residence of Stanislaw August “Lazienki”, built in 1784-1795. But today this large, ambitious palace has become a beautiful, spacious “abandoned place.”
The place is very beautiful. True, no one is engaged in its restoration, and this makes itself felt. A few years ago there was a fire there, and part of the ceilings cannot now be returned. But you can still find many well-preserved decorative elements.
Island with an extinct village on Lake Osveya
Not far from the border with Russia there is a huge lake, and in its center is the most big Island in Belarus. There was a settlement here until the 1970s, but in modern times it has become deserted. Now a reserve has been formed there, and only traces of existence remain from the former civilization.
Mystic surrounds us in various manifestations. Almost every person can remember something strange, and even a notorious skeptic is sometimes unable to find a rational explanation for some phenomena.
Surprisingly, despite the very advanced age of stories about evil spirits settling next to people, the most popular among the anomalies discussed are not goblins, water goblins and brownies, but the so-called UFO - unidentified flying objects. It is difficult to judge the reality of the phenomenon - everyone has their own opinion on this matter.
Of course, among the evidence visits to our planet by representatives of foreign civilizations There is an unimaginable amount of false testimony, falsifications and simply nonsense of mentally ill people. But some facts make you think that not everything told is a lie.
Eyewitness testimony in Belarus
What do eyewitnesses say? There are several cases worthy of attention.
Near the village of Kvasovka (Republic of Belarus, Grodno region) on January 8, 2008, near the local school appeared spiral patterns, the appearance of which can be explained in different ways - from man-made origin to UFO visit. However, none of the versions was confirmed.
In the village of Zahody, Shklovsky district, Mogilev region, local residents repeatedly UFO sighted: oval discs with 3 luminous dots. Residents of neighboring villages saw similar phenomena. What they encountered - alien guests or secret technologies - is unknown.
A bunch of Belarusian anomalies associated with lakes, which the country is rich in, and swamps. The mermaids living in the lake near the town of Gorodok in the Vitebsk region are widely known. According to legend, a church was flooded in it. As they say, he himself had a hand in the act of vandalism Lucifer, which brought a curse on the area forgotten by God. Mermaids They hypnotize travelers with their motionless, deep blue eyes, luring them into the pond.
In the Mozyr district of the Gomel region it has a bad reputation Red swamp, in which, according to eyewitnesses, the swamp water and other equally strange creatures live.
In the city of Brest Scientists and enthusiasts have been recording the appearance of ghosts in local houses for five years. Ghosts had different appearances. The most famous was a teddy bear that appears at the end of a long corridor and quickly approaches its victim.
In addition to the fact that the animal generally gave witnesses unpleasant sensations with its intrusive behavior, it also bit. Someone connects these visions with mass psychosis, but indirect evidence obtained by enthusiastic scientists speaks in favor of the actual existence of an anomaly.

Stones, like us, are living beings, but their inhalation lasts much longer than that of a person, usually from three days to two weeks. Thanks to their molecular structure, stones are capable of not only accumulating a large number of information, but also process it. Also, the crystalline structure of stones allows you to concentrate energy and exchange it with people.
Scientists have proven that life based on a rock-silicon base can exist on other planets. If this is so, then why shouldn’t it arise somewhere out there, in distant space, on our Earth... This hypothesis is also supported by the fact that the current artificial human computer brains are based on crystals.
Our ancestors believed that many stones were conductors of the will of the Gods. They knew the power of the energy of stones, revered and worshiped them.
Place of power - stone park in Minsk
In the capital of Belarus, Minsk, in the Uruchye district, there is amazing park boulder stones, in which you can see many sacred stones. The healing “functions” of many boulder stones were quite simple. It is enough to touch them or take moss from them. Rainwater collected in the cavities of stones has always been considered an effective means of treatment.
The open-air park-museum of stones in the Uruchye district of Minsk was opened in 1985. This is one of the most unique and unusual museums in the world.
In 1976, employees of the specialized institute of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR decided to systematize the diverse types of boulders in Belarus. The fact is that during the Ice Age, three powerful glaciers passed through the territory of present-day Belarus, leaving behind a centuries-old memory in the form of many unique boulders brought from other places. To experts in the field of geology, such an idea would seem ridiculous. But, in 1981, it was decided to create a museum of stones in Minsk. To create it, 2,134 boulder stones were brought from various places in Belarus to Minsk.
From the point of view of our pagan ancestors, the creators of the museum committed blasphemy by tearing the stones away from their native “roots”. After all, our ancestors attached great importance to stones. Many boulder stones became sacrificial altars, stones indicating the path, a sacred place or danger, protecting possessions. The position of the boulder on the ground was as important as the boulder itself. But if you look at this museum of stones from the point of view of Soviet realities, when religious traditions were subjected to harsh criticism, when everything that was somehow connected with religions and beliefs was destroyed, then museum workers in 1981 accomplished a feat, preserving our priceless heritage ancestors for descendants.
And so, the museum exhibition is located in the open air on an area of about 4.5 hectares. The general configuration of the exposition of the rock park is a geographical map of Belarus, made with an accuracy of 1: 2500 scale. Individual boulders indicate the elevations of the area. All stones used to create the map were taken from the exact areas they depict.
The entire map of the Republic of Belarus is made to scale. 1 meter is equal to real 2 km, and 1 meter in height is equal to real 100 meters. The country's border is made in the form of trimmed bushes. The regional central cities were previously marked by 3 blue spruce trees (only the 2nd remained on the site of the city of Brest). The rivers are shown as paths strewn with small pebbles. Lake Naroch and the Zaslavskoye Reservoir are also indicated in the form of concrete troughs.
Borisov stones are huge (up to several meters) boulders with images of crosses and inscriptions engraved on them. The inscription on one of them, the Rogvolod stone, dated 1171, contains the text “Lord, help your servant Boris,” most scientists associate with the name of Rogvolod’s father, the Polotsk prince Boris Vseslavich.
Trebnik Stones.
On such sacred stones our relatives left requests for their ancestors. As a requirement for Heaven, they leave crumbs of bread or grain - food for birds, but do not put in food that can spoil, rot or become rotten. The demand for bread or grain is left on the stone so that the birds, and not the mice, get it. Birds will carry our message to our Ancestors.
Honey is very good as a requirement for the Earth, but it is a requirement for insects: working bees, spiders and ants, messengers of the Slavic goddess Mokosh - the Goddess of Fate, as well as wealth and prosperity, family happiness and well-being. People turn to Mokoshi for the well-being of children and family happiness.
You can pour kvass or milk on the Trebnik, but you cannot use alcohol. The stone absorbs the need in the form of liquid no worse than Mother Earth and receives our good wishes to the Souls of our Ancestors.
When, on what day or time to bring the demands is a very ambiguous question. The main thing is that you bring the Requirements at the call of your desire, and if this ritual comes from a pure heart, then it will be conveyed to the Ancestors and accepted by the Gods in any case.
Do not leave coins or jewelry. These items are not for birds.
Track stones.
And who left these traces anyway?
Our ancestors considered these marks on the stones to be divine traces of angels and worshiped them, sometimes as traces of the devil. It was believed that the water accumulated in the “God’s footprint” would cure all diseases. But it was impossible to use the traces “for selfish purposes” (for example, during construction), otherwise the person would inevitably be overtaken by God’s punishment.
Stone cross in the Minsk stone park.
Our ancestors came from all over the world to worship these shrines (crosses). They were believed to be miraculous and helped to heal the sick.
This Cross was found at a medieval burial ground in the forest in the Dokshitsy district of the Vitebsk region. It should be noted that in the center of the cross is carved schematic image knight with the inscription: “RSB” (Rex - king, Stefan - Stefan, Batory - Batory). According to legend, the Polish king Stefan Batory (1533-1586) dined under this cross during one of his military campaigns.
Mysterious signs on the Boris stones.
In the park there are stones with various and mysterious signs. The origin of signs that are clearly man-made may be associated with indicating a direction or religious cult. And what do these symbols of the image of an “umbrella” (pole with a crossbar) mean in the rock park or the Steberak complex?
The same signs are on the stones near the village of Steberaki, Vileika district, Minsk region.
Like from that joke: “.. and my friend’s eyes are blue, blue, and everything else is…”.
1842 why would this be?
Abnormal and mysterious places in Belarus
The country of Belarus, which is small in territorial comparison with Russia, also has an extensive network of anomalous places. Stories about some of them became public knowledge and excited many ufologists from different countries.
The Cosmopoisk catalog identifies about thirty anomalous zones in Belarus, some of them are being explored, and some places keep their secrets.Pare, the village of vampires (100 km from Pinsk, Brest region)
Residents of nearby villages discourage people from traveling to Par, but do not explain the reasons, and around the village itself they planted a not very wide, but dense aspen tree - you never know.
The bravest ones, wandering into Par out of curiosity, go to the local cemetery: the graves here are covered with logs, large oak logs - so that the deceased does not get up. The log is not placed immediately, but after Easter, and at first the grave is “sealed” with a huge boulder for the same purpose. Modern graves are sometimes simply filled with cement - they still don’t risk leaving them open.
Here, ufologists recorded a ritual: at night, men went into the forest and cut down an oak cross 5-6 meters high, while women wove multi-colored ribbons to decorate the cross with them. Local residents, according to the researchers, are not very talkative; they protect themselves from people with crosses - they do not say: “Even under our fathers, they did this so that the dead would not return home from the cemetery. They'll lay it down like an oak tree, and everyone will be calm..."
Ethnographers approach the village with less apprehension than ufologists, but with the same trepidation: located in the very outback of Pinsk Polesie, the village is the only place where you can see narubs preserved from pagan times.

Putchin's vampire
In fact, vampires are not the sweet Edward Cullens, or even the dramatic Louis. At least Belarusian ones. More often these are dead people who were buried a year or several years ago. They do not lie in their graves: the deceased get up at night and come to drink the blood of their living relatives.
In life, vampires usually have a reputation for being sorcerers. Previously, it was believed that such a dead person needed to be dug up and an aspen stake driven into his chest, and then it was advisable to burn the body. According to legend, the unearthed dead did not decompose, but were full of fresh blood.
Now almost nothing is heard about vampires, but only almost. In the village of Putchino, near Minsk, they remember the story that happened in the last century. An eyewitness to the horror was a little girl playing with other children near the house where a man died a year ago. Suddenly the dead man appeared on the road and approached the house.
The man looked unhealthy: he was gray and decrepit. The children began to shout that “dad” had come so that their mother would leave the house. “Daddy,” meanwhile, grabbed one of his daughters and headed away.
He would have left anyway, but his mother still came out of the house and screamed. Apparently, she scared off her late husband: the vampire disappeared. They say the girl fell to the ground, sobbing in fear.Kovalevsky ghost (Brest)
Ghosts and werewolves in the Kovalevo district of the city of Brest are known to local residents firsthand.
For a long time, from 1998 to 2003, a group of enthusiasts involved in the study of anomalous phenomena in the Brest region recorded numerous cases associated with the appearance of unidentified human-like and bestial creatures in the homes of local residents.
One of the most popular visions was definitely a teddy bear, suddenly appearing at the end of a long corridor and rapidly approaching the person looking at it. And everything would have been fine if the bear had not bitten. Of course, it looks like a mass psychosis involving a popular children's character, however, indirect evidence suggests that the ghost actually exists.
For some residents of the Brest Kovalevo microdistrict, a harmless children's toy has become synonymous with horror. The ghost bear appeared to people at the end of the corridor, and it was impossible to take their eyes off it.
A resident of Kovalev told researchers of the portal ufo-com.net that for her the ghost bear became something of a bait. Elena lay and watched, and he moved away towards the kitchen of the apartment and “pulled” her gaze along with him.Elena read the “Our Father” prayer, but it did not help: the woman saw a man in the kitchen. After that, something screeched piercingly, jumped onto the lying mistress of the house and bit her in the neck.
Elena claims that after the incident, brown spots did not leave her neck for several days. The child, who had previously been sleeping, also complained of a bite to the neck.UFO landing sites (Vitebsk region)
Anything anomalous is drawn to the Vitebsk region: here, lost places, crop circles, and UFOs flock here almost in flocks.
At the same time, in last years ufologists are increasingly encountering triangular-shaped UFOs, and since triangular aircraft have not been officially declared in Belarus, they rightly classify these objects noticed by eyewitnesses as anomalous.
By the way, having analyzed the trajectory of UFOs in Belarus over the past 26 years, ufologists found out that the majority of them are 90 percent! - clustered along the line leading from Brest to Vitebsk (via Minsk). One of the eyewitnesses reported to Ufokom about an encounter with a triangular UFO near the village of Luchesa, Vitebsk region.
Some burgundy triangular objects were noticed by residents of the village of Tishkovo (northeast of Vitebsk). Locals say that the “triangles” may turn out to be new equipment being tested by the Russian army, but they are no less afraid of this army than they are of aliens.
Borisov's “crop circles”
It would seem that the aliens do not spoil Belarus with their attention, but everything is not so simple. Borisov became famous throughout the country for his very real pictogram. We are used to classic crushed corn, but in Borisov the aliens chose a field with triticale for planting.
The circle was formed according to all canons. In general, everything is like people, or more precisely, aliens. The triticale stems were carefully pressed down in a circle, lying clockwise. Small “corridors” diverged from the main circle in four directions, which were crowned with smaller circles. The main circle was approximately 20 meters in diameter, and its “rays” were directed towards the four cardinal directions. The circles were discovered on the morning of May 17, 2009. The next night, local residents organized night vigils in the hope that the UFO would return, but this did not happen.
Paranormal mermaids (Gorodok, Vitebsk region)
Mermaids are one of the most popular anomalous creatures in Belarus.
Especially Lately, when meetings with these seemingly fairy-tale characters became more frequent. They have also become more frequent in the Vitebsk region, especially near the wonderful forest lake. According to legend, in forest lake near the city of Gorodok, Lucifer himself once flooded the temple, which brought a great curse on this area.
Today you can see there the main characters of the cursed zone - mermaids - not only at night, but also in daylight.
The lake, called holy, is located in the Gorodok forest. It’s not that easy to find, and it’s not worth looking for. Legend has it that the devil himself once drowned the church here. Therefore, from the bottom of the lake they seem to go to hell. And not only fish and toads live in it. Local mermaids are not at all like the good little mermaid Ariel. They lure unlucky travelers and drown them in the lake.
It is difficult to resist the beauty: her bottomless blue eyes hypnotize. In addition, it’s not only near the water that you can stumble upon treacherous creatures: sometimes mermaids appear in fields and forests. Then you don’t have to expect death from water: most likely, the girl will simply tickle you to death.
Mozyr Red Swamp
Another insidious inhabitant of Belarusian reservoirs is the water one. Most often, the merman is described as a long-armed man with an impressive belly and tangled seaweed hair. But sometimes mermen can change their appearance.
Not far from the Red Swamp, at a consecrated spring, a merman in the form of a girl was seen. An eyewitness was getting water there, and a baby with sea-green eyes was holding out bright red berries in her palms. The merman girl was frightened by a sound that came from a distance: someone else wanted to get water.
Golshansky Castle (The Grodno region)
Golshany is rightfully considered a leader among mystical places Belarus. Two ghosts live here - the Black Monk and the White Lady. Moreover, the second one is by no means friendly and is not nearly as harmless as, for example, Sonechka from Mir Castle.
The White Lady can be understood: she was treated very cruelly. When the construction of the Franciscan monastery was underway, one of its walls kept collapsing. The monastery had to be completed on time, otherwise the workers would not receive remuneration. They decided to secretly make a sacrifice so that the wall would no longer collapse.
They agreed to wall up the wife of one of the builders in the wall - the one who would be the first to bring her husband lunch. The most beautiful of the girls got married recently, and out of great love she always tried to come to her husband early. No matter how much he prayed that his wife would be delayed, the beauty hurried to her beloved with lunch. This doomed her to death, but the monastery was built on time.
The legend could have remained just a legend, but not so long ago the Olshansky Castle was being restored, and the skeleton of a girl was found in one of the walls. After the bones were removed, the wall cracked and then completely collapsed.
The Black Monk also became a victim of love. He was not a monk, but dressed in monastic robes in order to secretly meet with his beloved, Princess Hanna-Gordislava Golshanskaya. The princess's father, angry because of his daughter's relationship with a guy from the people, ordered him to be caught and executed. The poor lover was also walled up.
Restless and unhappy, he still wanders around the castle where he met love and death.
“The inhabitants of the castle were always more afraid of the spirit of a rootless, poor and modest girl. Her fault was that she wanted to feed her husband, a builder, the best way possible.” This is the story of the White Lady. In 1618, a team of builders, with the money of Pavel Stefan Sapieha, built a church and a monastery with him. Unfortunately, one of the walls of the church kept collapsing.
The most experienced masons restored it, but the stones again fell down for no reason. At that time, the practice of repairing buildings by embedding all kinds of living creatures into the wall was widespread, and it was good if only cats. It was believed that while the mummy of the person walled up alive was inside the building, she protected the stones from destruction with her psychic energy.
The Magi, who were approached by builders who did not want to be known as scammers, advised to wall up a young woman in the wall (the construction is important, you won’t get off with a cat). Where can peaceful masons get it?
They decided that they would sacrifice one of the wives, and in order not to draw the terrible lot themselves, fate had to choose the victim - let it be the one who first comes to her husband at the construction site. The foremen, worn out by life and grumbling wives, knew that their faithful ones would not rush at breakneck speed. The youngest one came first... The body of the unfortunate woman was thrown to plug the hole in the wall. The wall calmed down...
The director of the National Art Museum, Cheslava Akulevich, with whom Kosmopoisk met, not only trusts the rumors about the Lady, but she herself has witnessed her appearances more than once: “I didn’t believe it at first either, until I saw her myself a few years ago. I was alone in my cell, and suddenly a gray translucent hand grew out of the wall and pressed the light switch!...It’s good that you came with instruments for research, otherwise your psyche is at its limit. Our women are quitting, even male archaeologists are refusing to work!”
Map of anomalous zones of Belarus
Mir Castle
Mir Castle, located in the Grodno region, is known not only as historical value and a place of tourist pilgrimage, but also as the abode of Sonechka - a rather harmless ghost. Sofia Svyatopolk-Mirskaya died innocently at a very young age - the girl was 12 years old.
Nikolai Svyatopolk-Mirsky once ordered the garden that grew near the castle to be cut down and a pond to be created in its place. While the logging was taking place, one of the logger workers died. When everything was finished, the worker’s mother came to Nikolai, cursed him and the lake, saying that from now on people would die here - one for each tree cut down.
The first victim of the curse was Sonechka. A few years later, Svyatopolk-Mirsky himself followed her: his body was found on the shore of the ill-fated pond.Since then, the spirit of the restless girl has lived in Mir Castle. But people do die: most often men drown in the lake.
Megaliths near Vileika (Steberaki township, Minsk region)
Ufologists discovered megaliths near Vileika in the late 90s - the composition included five stones with similar designs on each.
The first and last stones bear a symbol resembling a bow and arrow or a triangle on a crossbar. Moreover, all the stones were oriented strictly north, towards the North Star. Belarus is full of megaliths, which many recklessly equate with the local Stonehenge.Alas, many of them may turn out to be simple accumulations of stones that have nothing to do with mysticism, but researchers still hope for their astronomical purpose.
Chaussky mounds (Mogilev region)
Some ghosts “without a face” appear here so often that the locals even supposedly got used to it, and ufologists are called for help less and less often.
Two mounds are located in the Stalka River area. Locals claim that the rains sometimes washed spears out of the mounds, and the shepherds were afraid to fall asleep nearby, because at night they allegedly heard moans and ringing. The Chaussky region also attracts treasure hunters - among local residents there is a belief about gold buried under one of the hills. They say that at night gold came out of the ground to dry.
Ghosts near Novaya Alba (Bobruisk)
Mogilev, although close to eastern lands, devoid of a mystical component, no, no, and it will give birth to ball lightning or a ghost.By the way, one of the first poltergeists in Belarus was registered in Mogilev. But the village of Novaya Alba near Bobruisk is supposedly filled with assorted ghosts of varying degrees of aggressiveness and, of course, flying saucers.
One of the village residents told ufologists that in the forest near the village there were still three holes with polished edges - allegedly the result of a flying saucer hovering over the forest. The “freezing” was witnessed by a local resident who went into the forest to pick mushrooms, got lost and saw a dazzling ray of light “hit” from the sky: “She looked to the side and saw six tall men running nearby. They had lanterns on their foreheads, like miners. Meanwhile, the light intensified, and the woman was overcome by sleep - she immediately fell asleep.
Just before dawn he wakes up and sees women in white coats in front of him, approaches them and asks how to get to the house. And suddenly all the women disappear! And nearby there is a road leading straight to the village.” True, ufologists suspect that the phenomena of UFOs and other unidentified things may be simple visions of mushroom pickers who wandered through the swamps for a long time - no anomaly.
Sloboda poltergeist
Reports of poltergeists in Belarus are not that rare. Amazing things happened in the village of Sloboda, Minsk region. More precisely, it all started in the city itself. In one family’s apartment, incredible things began to happen: objects teleported, sometimes disappeared, and then appeared in other places. For example, they could disappear and then money fall from the ceiling. An egg appeared in the air, which suddenly fell and broke.
The mother of the family took her two daughters and went to the village of Sloboda to stay with her mother, hoping to escape from the poltergeist, but abnormal phenomena followed them. The worst thing began when objects began to teleport to the eldest daughter, then she was 11 years old. A nail and broken glass fell out of her mouth, and metal wires had to be pulled out of her ears with tweezers. At the same time, the mucous membrane was not damaged, and the girl could not swallow these objects on her own.
The woman's daughter talked about seeing a white pillar giving orders.
The mother of the family blamed her ex-husband for what was happening. He constantly came to them and made trouble. A year earlier, he stole children's things from the house and secretly returned them. His mother was known as a witch. This case was investigated by paranormal experts. They experienced devilry themselves when they took away an egg that appeared out of thin air and broke. After one of them had an accident, it was decided to stop studying.
Radioactive anomalies (Gomel region)
UFOlogists associate many UFO phenomena here with the proximity to the exploding Chernobyl reactor, but local residents time after time report luminous balls and star-shaped objects either in their yards or simply in the sky.
We won’t list all the plates and other objects that Gomel residents encountered, but simply quote an excerpt from a letter from a resident of the village of Narovlya, which he sent to ufologists in 2001: “I was at home - in the hut I heard steps, as if someone was walking near the windows and to the door, but no one entered the hut. I decided to go out and have a look. Came out. It turned out to be very dark. Coming around the corner of the hut, I saw a luminous ball at the height of the trees. At first I thought it was the Moon. But very big.
Came back home. I stood at the window and watched. An arc began to run along the shell of the ball, like lightning, zigzag and sparkling, from east to west. And a man appeared inside and began to move something from the western part to the eastern part. He descends, as if through a hatch, bends down, takes something and carries it in front of him in his hands. Bending down a little, he lowers himself into the hatch on the eastern side, does something there and goes back.
He walked like this for quite a long time, and the ship sparked and then calmed down. The man was dressed as if in a jumpsuit, but it did not fit to the body, as if it was filled with air. Then he dropped down the hatch into west side and never came out again. The shell of the ball became denser and stopped sparkling.
And suddenly there was a release from inside another ball, it bounced about 10 meters and stopped abruptly, while the main one swayed, as if on shock absorbers, and died down in place. They stood there for a while, and the smaller one quietly moved, forming a conical, luminous tail, but not sharp. He flew low, quickly picking up speed."
Vileyka anomalies
In the late eighties and early nineties, the Vileika region became a real airfield for UFOs. Local residents said that certain balls were constantly appearing in the sky.The balls were practically flying all year round as if on schedule. In the summer they appeared at about 9-10 pm, and in the winter at 7-8.
There were other cases: residents of Sosnovka reported that they saw a red ball that was heading upward, and this happened around midnight.
Residents of Dubrovka told how the objects “scoured” the area with searchlights and did not even hesitate to land - in the forest or near a farm. The objects, according to them, were red and spherical. In general, the testimony of numerous witnesses coincides. Now the “airfield” is apparently abandoned, since UFOs have not bothered the residents of Vileika for a long time. Nevertheless, many ufologists continue to monitor this area.
Brest Bernardine Monastery
The once majestic Bernardine monastery has now become ruins. But you can’t call them simple and ordinary. One of the researchers of the history of Brest visited the ruins with his assistants, and both of them were amazed. Just like the researcher himself. The fact is that the girls heard the singing of a monastic choir, and they made their observations independently of each other.
It was impossible to confuse the human voices sounding in unison with anything else: the nearest place where the chants take place is at a considerable distance, and the choir there is Orthodox. Moreover, at the moment when the sounds were heard, the researchers were in the basements of the Bernardine monastery.
Loshitsa estate
Quite a lot is connected with the estate located in Minsk tragic story. Fans of the paranormal know the estate as the abode of the ghost of Jadwiga, who once ruled the house.Jadwiga was the young wife of the not very young Evstafy Lubansky.
He was not the only one who liked the beautiful and intelligent Yadviga. The girl had a bright and rather long affair with Musin-Pushkin, who at that time was the governor of Minsk. This relationship could not please the beauty’s husband.
One day, after a quarrel with her husband, Yadviga left home in upset feelings and headed to the river. To this day, no one knows whether the girl drowned herself, whether someone “helped” her, or whether it was an accident, but the next morning her body was found on the shore.
Eustathius took the death of his wife seriously, lost the will to live and left for the Caucasus. But before that, he ordered the window of Jadwiga’s room to be blocked up with bricks, and he planted a Manchurian apricot in the park. The ghost of Jadwiga was repeatedly seen in the park, most often next to the apricot tree. She is described as a woman dressed in loose white robes.
Stone crosses in the village of Zaozerye
The village of Zaozerye in the Belynichi district is shrouded in a mystical aura.
Here is located its own stone “Stonehenge”, so named thanks to the light hand of journalists and researchers of the anomalous. Only in the role of megaliths here are large ancient crosses made of stone, the origin of which is speculated upon by both scientists and enthusiasts, fascinated by anomalous natural phenomena.
The complex is a kind of temple or burial ground with a large stone cross and stones scattered around in a certain system in the form of a cube, hemisphere, or slab. On many of them you can see almost erased images of circles, crosses, lines, and triangles. A boulder in the form of a slab or plate is of great interest to tourists who decide to spend their holidays in the Mogilev region and see such mysterious sights.
It lies to the west of the cross: the most interesting is the shape of the signs carved on it. This is the “man-cross” and his smaller copy and other signs. Some believe that this is a fragment of a cross or megalith; unfortunately, it has not yet been possible to understand the meaning of the signs. They express the opinion that these may be ancient ideas of people about space and the universe, which go back centuries.
There are also three boulders in the cross temple, which in appearance imitate a human footprint. One of them is located at the “entrance” to the complex, and two are located along the edges. All the stones have long been overgrown with moss, and from time to time they go deeper into the earth until water and local enthusiasts dig them out.
Their origin is unclear, but one thing is certain: there are many such megaliths in Belarus. The Swedish archaeologist Almgren suggested that they are related to the cult of the deity: he suggested that two thousand years before the birth of Christ there was a strict ban on drawings and images of the deity. Therefore, huge footprints may be a reflection of the way to “call” the deity to the temple.
Domestic local historian Nikolai Telesh wrote that during his youth he often visited here and saw several high boulders. Telesh believed that these were burials of the 12th century or more hoary antiquity, now overgrown with bushes and forest. And now this place in dense thickets evokes thoughts of something ancient and magical.
Modern scientists of Belarus, for example, associate professor of Mogilev state university named after A. Kuleshov, Igor Sharukha suggests that this is an ancient pagan temple. And his colleague from the same university, Doctor of Historical Sciences, is sure that “Stonehenge” is a burial place from the Middle Ages. Many legends are associated with this place.
They say that the stones were once soft, like wax, so an animal or a person could leave such traces right in the stone. Some later, already from the time of Christianity, absurd legends boil down to the fact that these are traces of Christ or the Virgin Mary. The water that flows from the boulders during rain is considered healing by local residents, and the stones themselves are considered prophetic. Many people believe that if you approach a stone with a request or grief, the stone will “hear and help.”
