Portugal - Portuguese voyage (Lisbon-Porto). Autumn season. Treasures of Portugal: from Lisbon to Porto Full description of the program
Day 2 Sintra LUX Tour:
The ancient town of Sintra was founded by the Moors, and in the Middle Ages it was chosen by the monarchs of Portugal for their summer holidays. This was facilitated by a favorable climate for human health and beautiful natural landscapes. Sintra has earned the honorary title of "Pearl of Portugal", which is framed by shady eucalyptus trees, centuries-old cedars and palm trees of impressive size.
According to the excursion program - a trip to the historical center of the National Palace in the heart of Sintra. The snow-white palace with conical chimneys and painted halls visible from a distance is a symbol of the town. Another attraction is the amazingly beautiful Palacio De Pena castle (XIX century). It was erected in a pseudo-medieval style, in which elements from different eras were mixed in the most fantastic way. Since the 16th century, only the ruins of the monastery and a small chapel have survived.
Quinta de Regaleiro
The tour continues in the complete mystery of the estate - Quinta de Regaleiro, surrounded by the Garden of Eden, the prototype of which was the divine Eden. Balconies, gazebos, tiny lakes, grottoes and sculptures make a strong impression. The unique well becomes the quintessence. According to rumors, strange things were going on in the estate, since its owner belonged to a secret society of Masons.
A group tour of Sintra is a series of adventures. One of them is a trip to the End of the Earth. For many centuries, Cape Roca was considered the extreme point of the land of the entire Earth. Nowadays, a mountain serpentine leads to the top of the cape. Cape Roca offers a magnificent panorama. There (and nowhere else!) you can purchase a personalized endorsed Certificate of stay at the End of the World.
Cascais and Estoril
After a "dizzying" journey, a trip to the elite resorts of the Atlantic - Cascais and Estoril. Aristocracy from all over the world loves to spend time in these glorious places. In numerous resort hotels there is a place for other tourists who decide to relax with all amenities. There are many entertainment venues around - fashionable restaurants, casinos, nightclubs and the Formula 1 track.
Cliff "Devil's Mouth"
Finally, the participants of the tour will experience another adventure - acquaintance with the ever-noisy cliff "Devil's Mouth". The strange place is surrounded by legends and myths, including those about mysterious disappearances and unexplained deaths.
Day 3 Excursion Lisbon LUX:
Historic center of Lisbon. First, there is an acquaintance with the historical center, the Baixa area, which was completely restored from ruins after the merciless earthquake of 1755. According to the plan, a walk along Independence Avenue, framed by chestnut alleys, and Restorers Square with a granite obelisk. It was installed in 1886 to mark the end of Spanish expansion. Rossio Square is dominated by amazing bronze fountains, colorful flower beds and a majestic statue of King Pedro IV. The National Theater of Dona Maria II is also located there.
Belenskaya tower. This elegant tower has long been a symbol of Lisbon. They invariably arouse admiration for the elegance of their forms and wonderful finishes. It is hard to imagine that this fairy-tale castle was built as a fortification to protect the city from the side of the river. Over time, the island on which the tower was built was connected to the land, and the purpose of the object changed several times.
In the next part of the tour of Lisbon, you will visit the Jeronimos Monastery in Belém. It was built at the beginning of the 16th century to commemorate the Age of Discovery. According to experts, this monastery is the most impressive architectural structure in Portugal in the elaborate Manueline style. Another shock awaits you - an acquaintance with a sophisticated monument of the 16th century - the Belenskaya Tower, which resembles a fairy-tale castle.
Monument to the Discoverers, which was made of noble granite in those days when the dictator Salazar was in power - an ambiguous personality who left a noticeable mark on the history of the state. The monument reflects the attitude to the eventful past of the once great maritime Empire. You will also see the residence of the current President of the Republic - Belen Palace.
Royal Palace of Ajuda, which was built after the earthquake of 1755 on the site of the ruined palace. This palace used to host the magnificent official ceremonies of the Portuguese monarchs.
During the tour, it is also planned to visit the Plaza of Commerce, where in the XV-XVII centuries there was the majestic palace of King Manuel, as well as the Belém Docks and Alfonso Albuquerque Square. On the other side of the excursion, the participants of the excursion move along the Bridge "April 25", built over the place where the river flows into the ocean.
Statue of Christ in Lisbon. The grandiose statue of Christ protects the city and the country from adversity. It was erected in gratitude to God for the fact that he heeded the prayers of the Portuguese and saved Lisbon during the Second World War. At the foot of the monument is a chapel. At the top, where the high-speed elevator lifts, there is a gift shop. At the very feet of Christ, there is a safe observation deck with a gorgeous panoramic view. To it rise on a special ladder.
Excursion to the frigate D.Fernando II e Glor. This is the last Portuguese sailing ship that left the Indian shipyards of Damau. He first set sail from India on February 2, 1845 and arrived at the port of Tagus on July 4 of the same year. There are still 50 guns of three types on board. The frigate was created for long journeys, so it has spacious rooms and is comfortable. Now it is one of the oldest sailing ships in the world. A tour of the decks of the frigate will help you get an idea of travels in past times.
The participants of the tour return to Lisbon on the ferry that runs along the Tagus. In this short voyage, you can take good pictures of the city from new angles.
Day 4 Flight to Madeira. Rest in the chosen hotel.
Travel Plan travel company "DSBW Travel Collection" organizes a variety of tours in 2020 to Portugal - one of our favorite destinations. Portugal is a wonderful country for a relaxing holiday and interesting trips. The destination is relatively expensive, mainly due to air travel to Lisbon.
We specialize mainly in sightseeing tours, of which I would like to highlight our wonderful tour first of all "Iberian Voyage" from the DSBW Travel Collection. This tour includes visits to two countries - Spain and Portugal and is relatively inexpensive due to a more economical flight to Spain.
Portugal differs from many other countries in its tranquility and peace in everything. Even the songs are kind of calm and melodic. Portugal is still distinguished by excellent service, an abundance of attractions and the absence of "tourist extras". And also a calm, cool climate, very fresh air from the ocean and excellent cuisine, which could easily compete with more eminent neighbors. But the Portuguese do not argue - they just cook deliciously.
There is a lot to see in Portugal. In addition to Lisbon, Porto and the Algarve, numerous palaces and monasteries are of interest: Alcobasa, Estoril, Braga, Guimaraes, Caimbra, Fatima, Batalha, Sintra, Obidos, Mafra and much more. By the way, Portugal is a great option to combine an educational holiday with a beach holiday, going from Moscow to the resorts of the Lisbon Riviera, the Algarve and Madeira.
As a specialist in Portugal, we will help diversify your trip in 2019 with interesting routes and holidays in Portugal.

This is a story about the tour "Classic Portugal" (Lisbon - Porto) at the end of January - beginning of February 2016.
In winter, from cold Moscow, you want to go somewhere warmer. Therefore, this time, quite unexpectedly, Portugal was chosen. At this time there are already 12-15 degrees, and most importantly the sun and blue sky! :)
Winter excursion tours Europe is now almost gone. We took a ready-made tour from DSBW from the Portuguese tour operator Lusitana Sol. Lisbon - Porto, 7 nights, 8 days. + Another day had to be added when it became known that Portuguese Airways had canceled the return flight on Thursdays. Just booked an extra night in the center of Lisbon.
The total length of all transfers on the tour by bus is 1,315 km.
The tour is standard, but maybe the story will be useful to those who are just about to do something similar. Yes, and I can answer questions, if that. And so - it’s just nice to remember with pictures :)
Day 1. 28.01.16 Thu (Moscow – Lisbon)
Flight by regular flight "TAP Portugal" TR1231 05:40 - 08:30 from Domodedovo (everything was on schedule). The flight, of course, although direct, is quite long - 6 hours, and it is stuffy on the plane. We fly up, and over the entire Iberian Peninsula there is a continuous multi-layer cloud cover. And only just before Lisbon, the clouds thinned out a little and it became clear what was down there. And below the coast of the OCEAN, Tagus, well, Lisbon, finally :)

Everything went pretty quickly, we leave, and we are met by a representative of Lusitana Sol. As it turned out later, this is our driver throughout the tour, Andrey. Besides us, there is still only one girl Maya, and we go to the minibus, go to the hotels.
“Hotel of the selected category”, we have this “Altis Park 4 *”. Accommodation at the hotel is promised only after 2 pm, but they check in immediately without any problems. Immediately, it turns out that no pool, which I counted on for relaxation, does not shine for us - it is simply closed at this time of the year. I asked for a room "higher", they gave it on the 11th floor, but, as it turned out, on the back side overlooking the courtyard. The request to change to the frontal, albeit with visible displeasure, was nevertheless satisfied. And we got a "view of the Tagus", though from the level of the 9th floor. But, as it turned out, the numbers on the front side are bigger and newer. Then, after returning from Porto, other members of our tour “fought” for such numbers. groups :) (and we already didn’t).
Changed clothes, grabbed a small backpack and went to the center. Metro station to the left of the exit from the hotel a stone's throw away. This is "Olaias" - reputed to be one of the most beautiful in Lisbon.

All inscriptions are in Portuguese. In fairness, then I learned how to switch to English and figured out the details. I had to use the help of a native who had just bought a ticket. He gladly helped me buy two Viva Viagem tickets and "refuel" each of them with 5E using the "zapping" system - i.e. spending money as you use it on any type of Lisbon transport - metro, tram, bus, funiculars, ski lift, and even, it seems, commuter train(did not check, see http://discoverportugal.ru/transport-portugalii/transport-lisbona).
We drove 5 stops with a transfer to the station Mortim Moniz (Martim Moniz). We got up, walked around the square to the final stop of the famous 28th tram. The first one was already leaving and we didn't hit it. But pretty soon the next yellow “doghouse”, as they are called by the people of Lisbon themselves, came up :)

We settled down on the back platform - a convenient place for viewing and photographing.

Very cool idea! It doesn't seem to exist anywhere. Instead of boring "Bas Touristik" there is a small rattling yellow trailer. In addition, a real type of TRANSPORT. Lisbon residents use it with might and main, and not just "mad" tourists :) Lisbon is truly a "city on the hills", so convenient ground transport is a very necessary thing. Funiculars and the Santa Justa lift help the tram on the steepest sections!
We drove a couple of stops in a straight line along the avenue before turning right into the Alfama neighborhoods. And then - here it is the real Lisbon :).

We'll go there again...
We jumped out to the Santa Luzia mirador, where many people go out - there are views of the Tagus and cafes. But we're moving on cathedral Se and “roll out” to Baixa past Commerce Square.
