More than two years have passed since the crash of the Malaysian Boeing in the sky over Ukraine. During this time, the Russian media have repeatedly questioned the results of an official investigation into the causes of the tragedy that claimed the lives of 298 people. The BBC monitoring service followed how the versions of the catastrophe changed in the interpretation of the pro-Kremlin media.

July 17, 2014 at 19:00 Moscow time news channel LifeNews informed about "a new victory for the Donetsk militia", who allegedly managed to knock out another An-26 transport aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force. This time - near the city of Torez.
"It all happened at about five o'clock in the evening Moscow time. An-26 flew over the city, suddenly a rocket crashed into it, an explosion was heard, the plane began to fall," the presenter noted, commenting on an amateur video from the scene. The news was immediately picked up by many news sites and the Russia 24 TV channel.
However, less than an hour later, it turned out that the footage shown on Russian TV channels was not an An-26 at all, but a Malaysian Boeing flying to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam.
In the first hours after the confirmation of the information about the downed passenger liner in the sky over Ukraine, the Russian media rejected the possibility of Donetsk separatists being involved in the crash.
"Specialists assure that it is impossible to shoot down the liner with the means at the disposal of the rebels," the correspondent of the Vremya program on Channel One reported.
"The plane crashed near the village of Grabovo, which is not far from the village of Snezhnoye, which was bombed the day before yesterday, the Ukrainian Air Force intensively bombed," the journalist of the Rossiya TV channel noted.
In parallel with this, alternative theories, including conspiracy theories, began to actively spread in the media. Late on the evening of July 17, the Russian-language website of the RT television channel published a tweet from a “Spanish dispatcher” in Kyiv that Ukrainian military aircraft had been seen near him a few minutes before the Boeing crash.
The message was soon picked up by the Rossiya-24 TV channel, as well as a number of online publications. Soon the Twitter account of the "dispatcher" was recognized as a fake and blocked.

Another version, widely circulated in the Russian media on the evening of the same day, was the theory that the likely target of those who shot down the Boeing was probably the aircraft number one of the Russian president, returning from a Latin American tour.
"The contours of the aircraft are generally similar, the linear dimensions are also very similar, and as for the coloring, it is almost identical at a fairly distant distance," Interfax quoted a source in the Federal Air Transport Agency as saying.
The next day, as allegations against the Kremlin made headlines around the world, Russian state television channels continued to blame Ukraine.
"Formally, the Malaysian liner was shot down in peaceful skies. Despite the fact that the Ukrainian authorities declared the space over the southeast to be no-fly as early as July 8, transit echelons continued to work," the Vesti correspondent noted.
At the same time, a new conspiracy theory appeared on the Internet: the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper reported, citing "eyewitnesses" and one of the then separatist leaders Igor Strelkov, that perhaps some Boeing passengers were dead before the crash.
Nevertheless, a few days later, this version, as well as rumors about an attempt to shoot down "aircraft number one," faded into the background, giving way to official statements by the Russian Defense Ministry.
Disappearing "Buk"
On July 20, US Secretary of State John Kerry, speaking on CNN, accused Russia of supplying large quantities of weapons to separatists in eastern Ukraine.
On July 21, Russian state television channels said that, according to Russian military data, a group of Ukrainian Buk anti-aircraft systems appeared in the Donetsk region on the eve of the tragedy and disappeared shortly after.
"In addition, at the time of the crash, there was another object on the same echelon with the liner - the Ukrainian Su-25," the Vesti host noted, referring to data from the Ministry of Defense.
At the end of May 2015, the international independent group Bellingcat stated that the images of the Ukrainian Buk complex, allegedly recording its movement on July 14 and 17, 2014, are fake.
On July 25, 2014, the version about the Ukrainian Buk was again heard from TV screens. This time, the NTV channel, referring to the opinion of an expert, stated that the Boeing-777 could have been shot down during the exercises of the Ukrainian air defense forces.
On September 9, the Dutch security service released a preliminary report on the causes of the downing of flight MH17. His main conclusion - "Boeing" fell apart in the air as a result of external influences.
On the same day, a correspondent for the Rossiya TV channel criticized the opinion of experts, again recalling that the Ukrainian military supposedly had Buks at their disposal. "This photo shows a missile system with a turned launcher. On July 17, it suddenly disappeared somewhere," he said.
"Specialists are sure that the experts missed the time when a full-fledged and objective investigation could be carried out. The Ukrainian side seemed to deliberately do everything possible so that it was no longer possible to find out the real cause of the disaster," the correspondent concluded.

Nevertheless, in November of the same year, the version about the Ukrainian "Buk" was suddenly replaced by a new one - about an air-to-air missile.
The host of the Odnako program, Mikhail Leontiev, said that "Channel One had at its disposal a sensational photograph, allegedly taken by a foreign spy satellite in the last seconds of the flight of a Malaysian Boeing over Ukraine." In the photograph, the presenter noted, "the launch of a missile from under the left wing" of the MiG-29 fighter "is clearly visible at the cockpit."
"In short, there was most likely no Buk," he concluded.
The release of the program "However" went on air on Channel One on November 14 - a few days before the G20 summit in Australia. According to Leontiev himself, "on the eve of the most important meeting of world leaders ... the topic of investigating the death of passengers on that flight is more than relevant," and the sensational shot "speaks in favor of the version that was almost never heard in the West."
In the evening of the same day, a similar story with "photo evidence" of the destruction of the aircraft by a fighter appeared on the air of the Rossiya TV channel. On the same day, popular Russian photoblogger Ilya Varlamov discovered signs of satellite footage being faked.
secret witness
After the public exposure of the fake photo, the version of the fighter again began to be actively discussed in the Russian media at the end of 2014.
This time the reason was the publication in the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper of 22 December. According to the publication, journalists "found a witness who claims that the Malaysian Boeing was shot down by a Ukrainian Su-25 attack aircraft.
"A secret witness appeared in the case of the Malaysian Boeing, whose testimony removes all charges from the militia and Russia," the authors of the article concluded. Soon this story was picked up by online publications, major TV channels and even the Investigative Committee of Russia. However, the story didn't end there.
In early June 2015, the "secret witness" reappeared in the headlines of the state media. "The investigation into the case of the crash of the Boeing in the Donetsk region is moving forward noticeably. And today the name of the main witness was named in the Investigative Committee of Russia," Channel One reported on June 3. According to journalists, it turned out to be a former Ukrainian soldier Evgeny Agapov.
In parallel, Russian media reported on the results of an investigation conducted by the developer of the Buk anti-aircraft systems, the Almaz-Antey concern. According to the company's experts, the Malaysian Boeing was shot down over the Donbas by a 9M38M1 missile fired from the Buk-M1 complex. At the same time, representatives of the concern at a press conference did not rule out that the missile could have been fired by Ukrainian air defense.
In response, Bellingcat founder Eliot Higgins stated that Almaz-Antey used incorrect and edited images in his report on the MH17 crash.

According to this version, on July 17, 2014, a bomb exploded on board the Boeing. "I'm practically sure that the plane was destroyed from the inside, and it was a special operation," Sergey Sokolov, an expert at the Analytics and Security federal information center, said on the TV channel at the time.
Outdated "Buk"
On October 13, the Dutch Security Council published a final report on the investigation into the causes of the crash, which stated that the airliner was shot down by a missile launched from a Russian-made Buk.
On July 17, 2014, five years ago, a plane crash occurred in the east of the Donetsk region. The Boeing 777-200ER of the Malaysian airline Malaysia Airlines followed the route "Amsterdam - Kuala Lumpur". 2 hours and 49 minutes after takeoff, the plane was shot down by a missile fired from the Buk air defense system. The crash killed all 298 people on board: 283 passengers and 15 crew members. It has not yet been established who shot down the Malaysian airliner.
Aircraft, crew and passengers
The Boeing 777-200ER was produced at the Boeing plant in Everett (Washington, USA) in 1997. On July 29 of the same year, it was transferred to the Malaysian airline Malaysia Airlines. Therefore, the crew of the aircraft was represented by citizens of Malaysia.By the time of the disaster, the plane had been flying for seventeen years, made 11,434 take-off and landing cycles, and had flown 75,322 hours. The liner was last tested on July 11, 2014, but it did not reveal any problems in the operation of the aircraft.
On 16 July 2014, the aircraft performed daily flight MH16 Kuala Lumpur - Amsterdam, arriving at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol at 04:23. At 10:14 the aircraft began the return flight MH17 Amsterdam - Kuala Lumpur and at 10:31 took off from the runway at Schiphol Airport. It was necessary to fly, among other things, over the territory of Ukraine, where by this time the civil war in the Donbass was already in full swing.
In total, the crew of the aircraft consisted of 15 people. The commander of the main crew of the aircraft was 44-year-old Eugene Cho Jin Leong, the co-pilot was 26-year-old Muhamad Firdaus Abdul Rahim. The replacement crew was commanded by 49-year-old Van Amran Van Hassin, the co-pilot was 29-year-old Ahmad Hakimi Hanapi. They were all experienced pilots with many thousands of hours flown. In addition, there were 11 flight attendants on the plane - 3 stewards and 8 stewardesses - all of them were also citizens of Malaysia.
This ill-fated Boeing flight carried 283 passengers. Most of the passengers were Dutch citizens as the plane had taken off from Amsterdam. In addition to the Dutch, citizens of Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia, Great Britain, Germany, Belgium, the Philippines, Canada, Romania and New Zealand flew on the Boeing.
Tragedy in the sky over Donbass
At 13:20 UTC, the plane, which by that time was flying over the eastern part of Donbass, was shot down by a rocket. Its warhead exploded to the left of the aircraft, in the cockpit area, after which the aircraft began to disintegrate in the air. The cockpit and half of the business class cabin almost immediately broke off and fell to the ground, and the rest of the aircraft was in the air for some time, flying another 8.5 kilometers to the east. Only about one and a half minutes passed from the moment of defeat to the fall to the ground of the last parts of the aircraft.The plane, or rather its wreckage, crashed near the village of Grabovo in the vicinity of the city of Torez, Donetsk region. The wreckage was scattered over a territory with a total area of more than 15 square kilometers. All the people on board the plane were killed.
In terms of the number of deaths, the disaster in the Donetsk region became the largest after the events of September 11, 2001. She also entered the top ten largest aviation accidents in the entire aeronautics.
The National Bureau for the Investigation of Aviation Accidents and Incidents with Civil Aircraft of Ukraine received information about the disappearance of a Boeing 777-200 aircraft with registration number 9M-MRD from the radar screens on the morning of July 18, 2014. Notifications about the incident were sent to Malaysia as the country of registration and operation of the Boeing, the United States of America as the country of origin, as well as the Netherlands and Australia, whose citizens died as a result of the crash.
Search work has begun on the ground. Since the plane crashed in the area under the control of the Donetsk militia, the leadership of the Donetsk People's Republic allowed Ukrainian specialists to participate in the search operation.
On July 21, 2014, a train with the bodies of 282 dead left the Torez railway station for Kharkiv. It was decided to carry out the procedure for identifying the bodies of the dead in the Netherlands. Another 16 bodies were under the wreckage of the fuselage and were removed only after the entire search operation was completed. The Netherlands took the lead in investigating all the circumstances of the tragedy. The flight recorders were handed over by representatives of the DPR to the Malaysian authorities, who, in turn, handed them over to the Netherlands.
The plane was shot down by a rocket
The investigation into all the circumstances of the disaster took more than a year. Initially, different versions of what happened were put forward, but in the end the final conclusion was made - the plane was shot down by a surface-to-air missile. On October 13, 2015, the Dutch Safety Board (DSB) presented the final version of the report of the investigation into the circumstances of the crash. An analysis of the wreckage of the aircraft and fragments recovered from the bodies of passengers and crew members of the liner showed that the aircraft was shot down by a missile with a 9N314M warhead. Such warheads are equipped with 9M38 and 9M38M1 missiles. These missiles are used as part of the Buk, Buk-M1 and Buk-M1-2 anti-aircraft missile systems.In the second part of the report, it was concluded that the Ukrainian services responsible for organizing air traffic did not adequately take into account all the risks that could accompany the flight of a civil aircraft over the war zone in Donbass.
The results of the investigation caused a negative reaction both in Ukraine and in Russia. President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko hastened to refute the accusations against the Ukrainian air services, emphasizing that they already closed the airspace up to an altitude of 9725 meters and did not assume that it was also dangerous to fly above this mark.
In the Russian Federation, the results of the Dutch investigation were considered biased and tendentious. Information was published that the rocket was launched from the territory that was at that moment under the control not of the DPR militias, but of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Deputy head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Oleg Storchevoi, speaking at a press conference on October 14, 2015, called the report of the Dutch side fabricated, made in the "technique of fitting facts to predetermined conclusions."
On January 14, 2016, he sent a letter to the Dutch Safety Board criticizing the report, but the Dutch authorities replied that the letter did not contain any new or valuable information. Meanwhile, almost from the very beginning of the investigation, the fact that Malaysia was admitted to the results of the investigation only a few months later could not but arouse suspicion. But after all, Malaysia was the country of registration and operation of the crashed aircraft, and the crew and a significant part of the passengers were citizens of this country.
In turn, the United States and the EU countries fully supported the report of the Netherlands, since it fit perfectly into their paradigm of treating Russia as a country that allegedly unleashed a war in Donbas and posed a threat to both Ukraine and the world as a whole.
The Dutch Foreign Ministry and the Australian Foreign Ministry officially blamed the disaster on Russia. Formed after the disaster, the international Joint Investigation Team (JIT), which included representatives of the Netherlands, Belgium, Australia and Ukraine (Malaysia was admitted to it only in the fall of 2014), stated that the liner was shot down by a missile that belonged to the 53rd anti-aircraft missile brigade of the RF Armed Forces, stationed in the Kursk region. But, of course, there was no real evidence for this.
As for Ukraine, its President Petro Poroshenko almost immediately after the disaster accused the Donbass militias and the Russian special services of being involved in it. The Security Service of Ukraine opened a criminal case in connection with the incident under Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (terrorist act). Naturally, the West immediately took advantage of the disaster in the Donbass to impose additional economic sanctions against the Russian Federation.
In turn, Alexander Borodai, who then served as chairman of the government of the DPR, said that the militia did not have such anti-aircraft missile systems in service, from which it would be possible to shoot down such a high-flying aircraft.
Representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said that the rocket that hit the liner was indeed made on the territory of modern Russia, but back in Soviet times, and after the collapse of the USSR, the rocket ended up on the territory of Ukraine. Russian anti-aircraft missile systems "Buk-M1-2", according to the representative of the Ministry of Defense, did not cross the border between the Russian Federation and Ukraine.
Five years later. West continues to blame Russia, Malaysia doubts
In June 2019, it became known that the Ukrainian side also appointed "suspects" in organizing a missile attack on the liner. These are Igor Girkin (Strelkov), who at that time held the post of Minister of Defense of the Donetsk Republic, Sergey Dubinsky, who headed the intelligence of the DPR, Leonid Kharchenko, commander of the intelligence unit of the GRU DPR, and lieutenant colonel of the Russian army reserve Oleg Pulatov.All of the above, except Kharchenko, are citizens of the Russian Federation. At the same time, information appeared that the Ukrainian authorities would not demand the extradition of the listed citizens, and this circumstance in itself raises big questions. In fact, it is completely unprofitable for Kyiv to have a public trial of those who were “appointed” in Ukraine as the perpetrators of the tragedy. After all, any trial can shed light on the true causes of the crash of the liner. No wonder the Dutch authorities still do not agree to publish the results of the investigation of the disaster.
The position of the Malaysian leadership is very interesting in this context. Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad (pictured) said in June 2019 that Malaysia was very disappointed with attempts by Western countries to put all the blame for what happened on the Russian Federation and use the disaster for political purposes.
According to the Prime Minister of Malaysia, until now the world has only "rumors" about Russia's imaginary involvement in this tragic event. As for the evidence, the West does not provide them, but the accusations against Moscow fell even before the investigation of all the circumstances of the disaster began.
They blame Russia, but where is the evidence? We know that the missile that brought down the plane was of the Russian type, but it could also have been made in Ukraine. It looks like the idea centered around trying to put the blame on the Russians,
Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad said.
These words of the head of the government of the country that owned the downed Boeing, and more than all other countries are interested in an objective investigation of what happened, are very significant, as well as the fact that Malaysia is still not allowed to decrypt the “black boxes” of the aircraft.
It is beneficial for the West to expose Russia as the direct culprit of the disaster, and for this, in Amsterdam, Brussels, Washington, London, they are ready to do anything, including outright falsification of evidence and suppression of facts.

The version of the downing of flight MH17 by the Ukrainian Su-25 attack aircraft was first voiced at a briefing by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on July 21, 2014, which became the Russian response to a video published by the National Security Service of Ukraine, blaming separatists and Russia for the destruction of a civilian aircraft, as well as on the amateur videos that appeared on the Internet of the transportation of the Buk missile launcher with a full ammunition load (4 anti-aircraft guided missiles - SAM - 9M38), first from Russia to the territory controlled by the separatists, and then - an emergency return to Russia of the same installation, but already with an incomplete ammunition load consisting of three missiles.
At the briefing of the Ministry of Defense (video is presented on the right), the following main points were made:
According to the Russian military, the Malaysian Boeing-777, flying over Donetsk, deviated to the north by 14 kilometers; after that, he tried to return to his corridor, but did not succeed;
Before the crash, the Boeing 777 began to lose speed;
At the disposal of the Russian Ministry of Defense there are space images with the location of the air defense systems of the Ukrainian army in the south-east of Ukraine before the Boeing crash, according to which the Ukrainian Buk air defense systems were redeployed to Shakhtyorsk the day before;
On the day of the disaster, an air defense grouping of the Ukrainian armed forces was deployed near Donetsk, consisting of three or four divisions of the Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile system, and the Boeing-777 route fell into their radius of action;
A Ukrainian combat aircraft, presumably a Su-25, climbed in the direction of a Malaysian Boeing; the distance between the Boeing and the Su-25 was only 3-5 kilometers; thus, a Ukrainian combat aircraft capable of carrying an R-60 air-to-air missile flew for several minutes along the civil aviation airway, almost simultaneously and at the same flight level (altitude) with a passenger aircraft;
At the time of the crash, another object was observed in the same mark of airspace controls;
At the time of the crash, an American satellite was flying over this place;
Russia did not transfer Buk missile systems and other types of weapons to the militias.
The briefing by the Russian Ministry of Defense evokes a very ambiguous impression due to numerous inconsistencies, contradictions, distortions and evidence of outright incompetence of the speakers. For example, in his speech, the Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant-General Andrey Kartapolov (timecode of the briefing video 13:10) talks about three civilian airliners in the Donetsk region, and on the diagram ("slide") of objective control data air situation in the Donetsk region on July 17, 2014 (briefing video timecode from 12:50) 4 airliners are shown. But this, as they say, "still flowers."

Thus, an unbiased analysis of even the data that was presented at the briefing, gives the flight MH17 deviation from the axis of the route by only 8 kilometers, which, taking into account the normalized width of the international air corridor of 10-20 km, makes this deviation insignificant.
As you can see, the route of flight MH17 actually deviated slightly to the north, but the routes on the diagram of our Ministry of Defense and on FlightRadar24 intersect only at one (!) point, before following in different (!) corridors, differing by many tens of kilometers in distance and tens of degrees in azimuth, approaching only a few minutes before the crash, and finally meeting at the place where the debris fell ... Such a discrepancy should have confused any unbiased person, including the military who drew these diagrams - after all, www.FlightRadar24.com is always at hand , and only for mobile gadgets (tablets and smartphones) it has three (!) Versions - Flightradar 24 Free, Flightradar 24 Pro and FR24 Premium (more than 6 million downloads in total!) ... However, our staff officers preferred an unfettered flight of thought, in a fit of free creativity, coloring their paper maps with felt-tip pens ... By the way, a logical question arises: if we assume the existence of a "presumably" Ukrainian Su-25 (a 4-minute unidentified object at an altitude of more than 5000 meters), then if this Su-25 is located at the point indicated on the diagram of the Ministry of Defense, and the Malaysian Boeing - on the route according to FlightRadar24, it turns out that the minimum distance between them was different than what was announced at the briefing. It seems that this steep route squiggle on the map of the Ministry of Defense arose in the minds of the draftsman of the scheme before the briefing, when he had to "dock" another, more southern corridor W 633, passing over Donetsk, and the point in the corridor L980, at which the position of the aircraft was first determined Russian dispatchers who were preparing to take the Boeing for escort after crossing the Russian-Ukrainian border. The erroneous corridor and the real coordinates differed significantly, and the staff hack, without hesitation, picked up the patterns, drew a conjugating line, and, having measured the size of the resulting hump near the trajectory with a ruler, joyfully reported to the authorities "deviated to the north by 14 kilometers!" It’s good that the staff officer had a map of eastern Ukraine at hand, and not East Timor or Western Sahara ... An important conclusion follows from all this, which will be very useful to us in the future, because it explains a lot - none of the military officers of the Russian Ministry of Defense who drew and reviewed these diagrams before the briefing, like the top generals who read their prepared texts in front of the cameras, even after several days after the tragedy, they have no idea what kind of international air corridor flight MH17 was flying over eastern Ukraine. They were sure at the briefing that the Malaysian Boeing-777 was coming from the west (in corridor W 633), and not from the north-west (corridor L980), and flew over Donetsk, writing out its "suspicious" squiggle in the sky. But these are people who worked in a normal environment in cozy Moscow offices and possess (on demand) any information necessary for analysis on the organization of air traffic. What then to say about those who on July 17 in the field, with a lack of information under the most severe time limit, decided (gave the order) to destroy the Malaysian Boeing?! Recordings from both flight recorders, voice and flight data, stopped at 13:20:03.There were no reports of unforeseen situations from the board." Thus, the entire development of the catastrophe was extremely fleeting and fit within the interval of several seconds, if we count from the last negotiations between the controller and the aircraft to the termination of the "black boxes". The last message from the crew was received at 13:19:56, the phrase ended at 13:19:59. The dispatcher called the board just a second later, at 13:20:00, and spoke for five seconds, but did not receive an answer. The final conclusion based on all the studied data: flight MH17 flew on the regular route L980 with minimal deviations from the flight plan, no one specially brought him anywhere, did not take him away from the airway and did not give any "commands to descend". Flight MH17 was in the cleared zone all the time and followed all the instructions of the controllers. Such is the price of the words of our generals at the briefing about corridors, deviations and other things... But let's return to the situation room of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on July 21 for further analysis of the statements made. Let's say right away - when watching the briefing of our military sample in 2014, there is a persistent feeling of "de jà vu", especially starting from the time code of the video 24:36: "... according to our calculations, from 17:06 to 17:21 minutes Moscow time on July 17, an American spacecraft actually flew over the southeastern regions of Ukraine. One detail attracts attention - the type of American satellite is called ( "device of experimental space system") and its purpose is indicated ( "to detect and track missile launches of various ranges"), but even despite the assertion of its passage (" really flew") the satellite itself is not called, its designation or name - why? If we know - what prevents us from naming it, it's not our satellite, but an American one? But not everything is so simple - the search for answers to these questions, i.e. attempts to identify the mentioned of an American reconnaissance satellite that flew (as we will see, the word "allegedly" is quite appropriate here) over the Donetsk region at the time of the death of the Malaysian Boeing, lead to the idea of the desire of our military to "cast a shadow on the fence", along the way trying to get information about one of the most classified American satellites. Only the satellites of the American two-component (two-level) integrated system for the early detection of ballistic missile launches fit the description given at the briefing SBIRS ( Space-Based Infrared System - space-based infrared system). This system has been deployed since mid-2006 and is supposed to replace the old DSP system, which provided early warning functions for ICBM launches since 1970. In contrast to the DSP system, whose satellites were launched only into geostationary orbit (as of mid-2013 in six satellites operated as part of the DSP system), i.e. "hung" over certain points of the equator, the SBIRS program (which has the highest priority in the USA) provides for the creation of two echelons of specialized satellites - in high orbits (two segments: on geostationary orbits with satellites SBIRS -GEO, and on highly elliptical orbits SBIRS -HEO) and in low orbits (SBIRS -Low, later renamed STSS - Space Tracking and Surveillance System, Space Tracking and Surveillance Program) . Alluding to the satellites of the SBIRS system, our military is cunning many times. Firstly, this system is designed to detect ballistic missile launches and track their flight, which makes it possible to calculate possible points of impact of warheads and give target designation to missile defense systems. Emphasize - to detect ballistic, measuring tens of meters and weighing tens of tons, and not for light anti-aircraft surface-to-air missiles several meters in size and weighing several hundred kilograms (we are not talking about miniature air-to-air guided missiles at all). The point here is the following (and this is the second cunning of our generals) - SBIRS satellites are not reconnaissance satellites, they are observation devices "sharpened" for a highly specialized task - detecting the launch of large missiles by infrared (thermal) radiation from a fire torch created by powerful marching rocket engines thrust into many tens of tons capable of lifting a very heavy ballistic missile. To do this, SBIRS satellites are equipped with special equipment operating in the shortwave and extended mid-infrared (IR) spectrum: A scanning IR sensor designed to detect ballistic missiles at an early stage of flight (at this moment, the hot torch of rocket rocket engines reaches a length of tens of meters, which makes it possible to detect a rocket launch even in the atmosphere, at altitudes of more than 5 km); Accompanying IR sensor designed to track missiles and warheads out of the atmosphere, against the backdrop of cold space. There are no cameras or similar equipment that form the usual images of the earth's surface in the visible range on board the SBIRS satellites, and the images generated by infrared sensors are very specific. But that's not all! The missile detection time after its launch is the most important property of the missile launch warning system - the sooner its launch is detected, the more time will be left to respond and take countermeasures, and the more reliable its subsequent tracking will be and its trajectory and possible target will be more accurately determined. The previous American DSP system is able to register a missile launch in 40-50 seconds - it does not work earlier, because. for the first tens of seconds, a rocket taking off is observed against the background of the Earth. The new SBIRS system, which includes satellites in low orbits with more sensitive equipment, after its full deployment will be able to detect a take-off ballistic missile as early as 20 seconds after launch. Let's highlight two key words here. after fully deployed" (and the regular low-orbit constellation of SBIRS satellites should include 24 spacecraft), and the word " ballistic"(Which is in no way comparable to any missile capable of shooting down flight MH17 anyway). The deployment of the SBIRS system had just begun, and by the summer of 2014, only two satellites had been launched into geostationary orbit (SBIRS -GEO-1 and SBIRS-GEO-2 ), and only two regular satellites for low orbits (SBIRS-NEO-1 and SBIRS -H EO-2). In addition, three more STSS-ATRR technology demonstrator satellites (USA-205) were launched as part of the STSS program. , STSS-Demo1 (USA-208) And STSS-Demo2 (USA-209). This is especially interesting given the fact that after a full-scale deployment, the SBIRS system should detect the launch as early as 20 seconds after launch, and the 9M38M1 anti-aircraft missile of the Buk-M1 complex has a solid-propellant engine that leaves behind a torch noticeable in the infrared range, it works just 15 -20 seconds. So how sensitive are the infrared sensors of satellites cooled to cryogenic temperatures? This is the most important question of the limit of the "vigilance" of the onboard equipment of the satellite, which partly explains the phrase of General Kartapolov: " If the American side has images from this satellite, they would be asked to provide them to the world community for detailed study". In other words, show - if your satellite was, then show - he detected the rocket launch or not? This is particularly interesting given that on July 19, 2014, Reuters quoted the U.S. Representative on the UN Security Council, Samantha Power, as saying that “… Infrared sensors of the geostationary satellite of the DSP missile warning system recorded the moment of the explosion of the airliner. The resulting data shows the trace of a missile, probably SA-11, which allowed us to calculate the missile launch area near the Russian-Ukrainian border, which is under the control of pro-Russian separatists". But the Americans did not provide evidence of what was said in the form of a photograph taken! So do they really have voiced data that they do not present for reasons of secrecy, or is this a bluff? It would be useful to recall the strange statement of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on July 20, 2014: " We have satellite images from the rocket launch site..." Then it was clear what was said at the briefing: " If the American side has pictures..."

Did it fly by or not? Let's try to figure it out. All objects (larger than a few centimeters in size) in near-Earth orbits have been discovered and catalogued. There are two observation systems in the world that form two corresponding catalogs - in the USA and Russia. Only these two countries have full-fledged national systems for controlling outer space. In the United States, the orbital parameters (the so-called orbital elements, or a set of orbital elements) of all artificial satellites are compiled into the Strategic Command catalog, but with one feature - being publicly available, this catalog does not contain the orbital elements of some of the most secret American satellites. In Russia, the National Space Control System (NCCS), which is part of the Space Forces, maintains a similar Main Catalog of space objects, which is why our catalog of space objects is absolutely secret. There is also the so-called worldwide network of observers (trekkers), uniting amateur enthusiasts equipped with telescopes from all over the world and headed by the famous "satellite catcher" Ted Molchan. Well, nothing really is known about the presence of sets of reconnaissance equipment on other satellites. In other words, on the basis of open data, to confirm or deny the fact of the flight of STSS low-orbit satellites over the site of the tragedy impossible. This can only be done by the Americans, who know the real parameters of the orbits of their satellites, or the Russian SKKP, which does not publish any data at all. And now the question is - why did we not name this flying American satellite of the SBIRS system at the briefing? Are we sure exactly? After all, if we are sure, then it was possible to name the satellite, showing the Americans that the parameters of its orbit are an "open secret" for us. But if we are not sure, then the phrase " would like to provide images from this satellite is nothing more than a call to the Americans to voluntarily declassify its orbital elements. It seems that the orbital parameters of all American satellites of the SBIRS system are still known to our SKKP - it follows that Marshal Ogarkov was more honest for 31 years than Lieutenant General Kartapolov ... Although ... another explanation is possible - none of the SBIRS satellites really did not fly over Ukraine during the MH17 tragedy, and we know this, but we publicly declare the opposite, because we are sure that the Americans will still be silent, since any exact information on the current orbit of these satellites is secret. On July 25, 2014, the Americans responded to Andrei Kartapolov in the words of US State Department spokesperson Marie Harf (at a briefing for foreign journalists in Washington): “ We have already distributed our assessment, we have announced as much information as possible at the moment. It can also be assumed that there are not many active hostilities in the Eastern Hemisphere now, and events in the east of Ukraine should not have been the last priority for satellites. Let's look even more broadly - could the area of the tragedy be seen from space in the indicated period of time from any other American low-orbit reconnaissance satellites capable of photographing the earth's surface? The answer is positive - the Donetsk region was visible from the orbit of one of the American satellites of the specific (optical-electronic) reconnaissance USA-161 type KN-11. The strong optical telescope of this satellite looks down (to the nadir), taking pictures of the sub-satellite regions along the flight path, and can deviate to the sides (to the right and left) at small angles. But this time the shooting conditions were extremely unfavorable - if you look at the satellite USA-161 from Donetsk (more precisely, from the Zaroshchenskoye region, from a point with geographical coordinates 47.5900° N, 38.2705° E), then at the most favorable moment he barely rose above the horizon (elevation angle, i.e. .the elevation angle above the horizon did not exceed 13° at 17:20:39). If at this moment USA-161 decided to take a picture of the Donetsk region, then he would still have failed - firstly, at such an angle of elevation, the area of the earth's surface of interest would be visible almost edge-on, and secondly, any details would be indistinguishable, since he had to shoot would be through the absorbing thickness of the earth's atmosphere, also viewed almost edge-on. To make it clear - at noon we cannot look at the Sun without the risk of blinding, and at sunset or sunrise, when sunlight is weakened by the entire thickness of the atmosphere along the horizon - no problem (at the same time, the absorption of sunlight is so great that the visible disk of the Sun as it approaches changes color to red towards the horizon). Taking into account what has been said, during the indicated period of time, the KN-11 satellite was guaranteed not to be able to film the Donetsk region. I note that if the task was to synchronize the passage of the satellite USA-161 with some civil aircraft over eastern Ukraine, it was much more convenient to do it on the previous orbit of the satellite - at 15:49:21 it rose over the crash site at an angle of 35 °, and this is already something (albeit with a serious turn in roll)... But this is not the end of the story about the American satellite. The fact is that if we deal with satellites even more deeply, then for Russia this topic is a "double-edged sword." Suppose one of the three parties to the conflict in eastern Ukraine (the Kiev authorities, the separatists in the southeast and Russia) really wanted to synchronize some airspace event associated with a certain flight of a civil airliner with the passage of some American satellite over it. To do this, you need to clearly know two things - the time of flight of the selected aircraft over a certain area and a possible satellite over it. And then everything is simple. The flight time of the MH17 flight (according to the flight schedule and their support by their own dispatch services) was known only by Ukraine (flying the plane) and Russia (preparing to take it for escort in a few minutes) as subjects of international law responsible for the safety of flights over their territories. The separatists here do not sideways at all. But with a satellite, the situation is different. As already mentioned, today in the world only two countries have full-fledged systems for controlling outer space, the leading catalogs of all objects in near-Earth orbits are the USA and Russia. Ukraine does not have such a service. Therefore, if we are talking about synchronizing the flight of an aircraft and a satellite, then Russia would have been much more convenient to do this than Ukraine - for this, Ukraine had to ask the United States for secret information related to the national security of the United States itself, and Russia always has everything at hand. Okay, let's assume that Ukraine was able to synchronize flight MH17 with a US satellite flyby using US information support. Ukraine is not the closest ally of the United States, and not even a NATO member with which you can start delicate joint operations, but let's say. Let all this be a joint Ukrainian-American provocation with some goals, while Ukraine shoots down a civilian airliner, and America is watching this with its satellite. For all the wildness of this version, let's put ourselves in the place of the Americans, who decided to use their satellite to monitor the destruction of the aircraft in the atmosphere. But then, for this role, it is most effective to use an electronic intelligence satellite, which will be able to fix the operation of various radar stations (Ukraine, Russia and separatists), their frequencies and coordinates, intercept the communications of ground civilian services and parts of the Air Force and Air Defense, open the system of command and control through the interception of radio traffic and control the passage of commands, well, etc. That is why the main argument in favor of the version that on September 1, 1983, the South Korean Boeing-747 performed reconnaissance functions was the fact of several passes over it of the American Ferret-D electronic intelligence satellite (by the way, this can serve as an explanation for why the Japanese dispatcher did not told the crew of the Boeing 747 that he was "not where he should be" - the plane was painfully effective in opening up the Soviet air defense system in the Far East for Japanese intelligence). A pair of satellites NOSS 3-2 (USA-173) A and C (2003-054A and 2003-054C) was launched on December 2, 2003 by one Atlas IIAS launch vehicle and actively operated for subsequent years, but at the time of July 17, 2014 this pair has already broken up (satellites A and C have separated), which indicates the inoperability of NOSS 3-2. In extreme cases, you can also use photo- or optoelectronic reconnaissance satellites that take pictures of the earth's surface both in the visible range and in the infrared range of the electromagnetic spectrum (as already mentioned USA-161) - they can get the most detailed images of the earth's surface, but if you're lucky - their effectiveness depends significantly on the time of day and cloud cover. But it is simply useless to use a satellite of a ballistic missile launch detection system to monitor the destruction of an aircraft by an anti-aircraft missile or other interceptor aircraft at an altitude of 10 kilometers - there is no practical sense in such "synchronization", the satellite, by definition, will not detect anything. This in itself suggests that there was no special synchronization of the passage of flight MH17 over eastern Ukraine on July 17 with the passage of the American satellite of the SBIRS system. And so the replica of Lieutenant General A. the Boeing 777 crashed, thus, where it was planned, although it is still 50 km closer than planned, otherwise it could have significantly gone deeper into the territorial space of Russia, and the version of the downing of the plane by the militias would have disappeared by itself, all the more, it would have been completely participation in this catastrophe of Russia itself is excluded. That's why an attack aircraft was needed at the final, third stage - it destroyed the traces of the two previous stages and corrected the crash site. Users of foreign forums were not too lazy and conducted their own mini-investigation, during which it was found that the people whose passports were shown by journalists “really exist” - there are their Facebook profiles. But - attention!- the profiles of these seemingly completely independent people were registered at the same time: April 21, 2013. (Already in April 2013, they were preparing a provocation, bastards!).
All these profiles are similar in that there is nothing on these pages other than the photos uploaded on the day of registration. Also, these users have no friends, no posts, no page likes - absolutely nothing! The pages are blank.

So - during the first day, no relatives were shown, with the exception of a couple of some strange people - a hysterically crying woman (as it turned out later, the mother of the flight attendant of this aircraft) and some man. And only then (apparently, the organizers realized the blunder) began fitting extras from the "relatives of passengers" who were accommodated in the same hotel and who did not give any interviews.
On YouTube the day before the disaster a "record of separatist talks" about the downed Boeing was posted. Then the record was removed and a day later flooded again.
Then the "ripe" corpses are collected and sent by plane to the Netherlands.

By the way, all relatives, and they, as you remember, from different countries, unanimously and unanimously refused to give interviews, appear on TV screens and seek help from psychologists. Those. behaved quite differently from the usual behavior of the relatives of the victims.

Dutch experts have collected from the wreckage what is left of the Boeing. But this did not add clarity to them. And it shouldn't have!
