It is located very close to the air harbor of the island, about a kilometer to it. Near it are the beaches of Mai Khao (to the north) and. The exact border near the beach is neither administrative nor natural. Just a strip of sand about 2 km long, which is commonly called Nai Yang Beach. Despite its proximity to, this place is one of the most calm and authentic on the island and the least affected by civilization. In addition to excellent ecology, there is nothing else there - neither, nor large, no noisy markets, and even bars with affordable girls. Once on Nai Yang, he finds himself surrounded by tropical greenery, soft warm sand under his feet, and in front of him is the endless Andaman Sea with clear azure waters. Life on the beach completely stops immediately after sunset, almost the entire coast is plunged into darkness, dissipated only where a dozen hotels are located.
North side of the beach
The north side of Nai Yang Beach in Phuket is rarely visited by tourists. This place is chosen by the natives and revered by them as a place for family vacations. The bathing of the little ones is greatly facilitated by a very gentle entrance to the sea - several tens of meters, everything is knee-deep. In the evenings and on weekends, whole family clans rest there. The strip of sand is not wide - no more than a dozen meters. Immediately behind it begins a lawn - green grass and a small tropical forest, where you can find the desired shade. Sunbeds and umbrellas in this part of the beach are completely absent.
There are hotels in this part of the beach, but they are located behind the road, which is about a hundred meters from the coast. All of them are of the so-called bungalow type. During the day, beach visitors are served by several peddlers offering chicken stew with rice and fruit.
Immediately after sunset, it becomes completely dark, there is no street lighting here. If you want to take a walk at night, then by all means take a flashlight. And mainly for scaring away snakes that go hunting at night. For the same purpose, discard good manners and shuffle your feet as loudly as possible.
beach center
In the center, Nai Yang Beach is fairly well settled. It is here that most of the hotels are built, there are several small shops, restaurants, bars and tour desks. Well, traditional massage parlors, of course. By the way, there you will also find a taxi rank, from where you can go not only to the airport, but also to any part of the island, including.
It also offers excursions (read more about) to the main attractions of the island - to the Ban Pe waterfall, Wat Chalong or. And also to the Phuket Night Market. If you agree with the bombers, then you can go outside the island - to, to the islands or. But it will be more expensive than from the main bus station of the island, from where minivans leave on the indicated routes. For example, officials will deliver you to Lanta for about 250 baht, and to Krabi for 150 baht.
The center of the beach differs little from the rest of the tourist places on the coast of Phuket. The road passes from it only fifty meters. Vacationers are provided with sunbeds (free of charge), which are here in four rows. There are offers of water activities, among which I would especially like to mention the rental of kayak boats. You will not find this even on where, it would seem, all the whims of tourists are gratified.
There are not too many idle people in this part of the beach even in the high season, and with the onset of the calendar summer and rains, it is almost deserted. The coastal highway is practically empty throughout the day, with occasional motorbikes passing by. At night, this part of the beach is also almost deserted.
South side of the beach
Nai Yang Beach in Phuket is really a sparsely populated part of the coast, which is especially noticeable in its southern part. Asphalt has not yet been laid to this point. The access road is an ordinary gravel primer, as in our province. Outwardly, the southern part is indistinguishable from the northern one, only the Thais do not visit it. There is no one there all day, you can feel like Robinson and Friday.
At the same time, the landscape is really beautiful - a lot of tropical trees and some nameless stream flowing into the sea. Although the place is slowly being mastered. On the other side of the river, about two hundred meters from it, the Imperial Adamas Beach Hotel was built. But there are still very few tourists there. So if you and you are looking for privacy, then Nai Yang Beach is the best choice!
Things to do
What to do at Nai Yang Beach? The Nai Yang place in Phuket itself is rather boring and not creative. Therefore, if you want to have access to a lot of interesting places (and they are not so far away), you better have transport. At least . Then most of the natural attractions of the island will be available to you, of which I would especially like to mention Bangpe - the largest waterfall on it (read more about the most beautiful). As well as a couple of interesting temple complexes - Wat Phra Nang Sang and Wat Prathong. And, of course, located near the airport, on Mai Khao Beach.
Shopaholics will be able to satisfy their passion at, which takes about 20 minutes by taxi. There is the largest concentration of large stores of various kinds. Stay there until the evening, and you can go to nightclubs. The largest - the Festival Center - is located in, which is a little less than an hour away.
Right on the spot you can contact the school of kiting or surfing. Canoes are available for rent on the beach. On the northern part, it is possible to visit the coral reef, for this you will need a mask with a snorkel and fins. For lovers of pampering, we advise you to go to or to the spa. The Slate Hotel offers a whole program for healthy lifestyle lovers: yoga, aqua aerobics, tennis. There are even sections of Thai boxing and karate. Well, the most active can walk or ride a bike around the area.
Three days a week - Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday - there is a spontaneous market between the Mongkol Wararan Temple and the Dewa Phuket Hotel. It opens in the afternoon and stays open until sunset. They offer fruits, souvenirs and every little thing. You can satisfy your bodily hunger at, where rice and chicken are the most common dish.
Hotels
Hotels on Nai Yang Beach are located mainly in the middle part. Among a dozen proposals I would like to mention The Slate, Nai Yang Beach Resort, Dewa Phuket. They are located on the opposite side of the coastal highway from the water's edge, which is deserted for most of the day. Guests are offered two beach mattresses and an umbrella for free, and guests - for 200 baht per day. You can choose the most suitable hotel on the sites hotellook.ru or roomguru.ru. And you can see the best of them in the selection below.
This stretch of Phuket's coastline is the least dangerous during the rainy season. There are no high waves and rip currents. This is because it is protected from the elements by a coral reef located at a distance of half a kilometer from it. The most gentle entry into the water is in the north, in the south the depth is greater. There are places where stones are exposed during low tide. Such a site, for example, is near the Imperial Adamas Beach Resort.
How to get there
So, how to get to Nai Yang Beach? There is only one way - on, neither, nor minivans go that way. The average cost of a trip is 300 baht.
From the island capital towards Nai Yang there are buses (flight to the airport). Departure from the old bus station, the fare is about 100 baht. You need to get off at the Nai Yang sign, then catch a tuk-tuk. Get ready to wait, they go quite rarely. The best option transfers - stop at the Tesco Lotus market in Thalang village, which is located halfway between Nai Yang and the Heroine Monument. Next to it there is a songteo parking lot.
If you are driving from the south on your own, then choose the Thep Krasattri highway, from which you need to turn off at the 14th kilometer towards highway 4026. It will bring you to the goal.
Away from most of the sights and activities of the island. Just a relaxed atmosphere and tranquility are loved by tourists who have chosen this beach for relaxation.
If you are looking for entertainment, active recreation, excursions, you will certainly be disappointed. We decided to drop by Nai Yang Beach before our flight from Phuket and got inspired by the local mood.
In this post, I traditionally talk in detail about the beach, share a selection the best hotels, cafes, restaurants, I explain how to get there.
Description of Nai Yang Beach
As far as I understand, there is no clear boundary between Nai Yang and the northern beach of Mai Khao. For clarity, I identified it in a bay between two capes, this is clearly visible on the map (it is at the end of the post). The beach is located on the territory of the Sirinat National Park and is 2 km long and about 30-35 meters wide.
The southernmost part of Nai Yang Beach is absolutely not suitable for swimming, there is a very small and strong influence of low tide, besides, a river flows into the sea. But there are no people at all. A gravel road leads here.
South end of the beach
A little further - the main crowd of people, sunbeds stand in two rows, but no one interferes with anyone. There is a small strip of palm trees and other trees that provide shade. There are also a few simple cafes, and many more restaurants across the road. It is here that the main cluster of hotels, massage parlors, there are even several bars, but they are far from the noise of Patong.
The middle part of the beach is the best. There are no hotels or cafes right on the shore, but big trees grow, a real forest between the beach and the road. In addition, there are almost no people. Sometimes locals come to a picnic in the evening, lay out mats and sit down to eat.
Can do yoga
Just nobody
Huge trees provide great shade
The northern part is a little less suitable for swimming, boats are parked here. But it is from here that the best view of the planes taking off and landing. If you want the planes to fly right over your head at 50 meters, head to Mai Khao Beach. Travel on the road to this part is paid, there is a national park ticket office: 200 baht per adult, 100 baht per child. Locals pay less. There are almost no cafes here, and from housing - only the park's bungalows. By night, all life generally freezes in pitch darkness.

Road along the northern part of the beach
The sand on Nai Yang is medium-sized, light in color, generally pleasant. The water in the sea is clean, and the entry is quite smooth, although steeper than, for example. Personally, I really liked it here.

Attractions and entertainment
You will not find special entertainment on the beach. From water sports - only kayak rentals. There are several bars with a relaxed reggae atmosphere.
On the other hand, all the necessary infrastructure is available: ATMs, exchange offices, cafes, a good selection of hotels, there are shops 7-11, and a market.

Street along the beach
The nearest interesting places- it's a water park north of the airport, Bang Pae waterfall and gibbon rehabilitation center on the opposite eastern side of Phuket, Wat Phra Thong temple.
You can walk to the highway from the airport and take a bus to. There, the town itself is worth seeing, and in shopping centers come in. From there you can also go to other beaches: but keep in mind that this will take a long time.
Hotels on Nai Yang Beach
The Nai Yang Beach area has a good selection of hotels ranging from budget to luxury. Several hotels are located on the road along the beach, some a little deeper.
Due to not the highest popularity of the beach, there is a good value for money. The first line is occupied by high-quality 4 * and 5 * hotels, among which are the famous The Slate 5 * and Mariott Resort & Spa 5 *. Away from the coast you can find more budget accommodation. The cheapest prices are in hotels and condos on the highway, at a distance of 500-800 meters from the sea.

Cafes and Restaurants in Nai Yang Beach
The cheapest food in the area is the local fresh market, where fruits and vegetables are also sold. It is located on the way to the main highway near the temple (I marked it on the map below), and is open from about 16:00 to 20:00, it may open earlier on weekends.
Typical cafe along the road
boss bar — perfect place to dine in a relaxed atmosphere with live music. Located very close to the beach, they have good seafood and fruit shakes. Prices are average.
Ma Ma Nang- a small restaurant in the middle of the beach. Delicious soups, seafood, pizza and french fries for those who are tired of Thai cuisine. Fruit smoothies are also ok! Located right on the sand on the beach.
Peony Coffee & Restaurant– in addition to classic Thai cuisine, coffee is served, a good place for breakfast.
Sea Almond Chilled Restaurant & Bar— great location right on the beach with a gorgeous view, a large selection of different beers.
The Good View— a simple and inexpensive cafe right on the sand, moderate prices.

How to get there?
The distance between the airport and the beach is about 2 km, so getting there is not a problem. Another thing is that local taxi drivers ask for insane money for such a distance - at the counter at the exit from the arrivals hall, the price is 500 baht! In general, bargain.
If you are without large bags and small children, a reasonable option is to walk, about 3 km. A bus to Phuket Town also runs along the highway from the airport, but not very often and does not stop at the beach itself.
The most comfortable option is to order a transfer online through a service verified by tourists. You will be met with a sign upon arrival, the bags will be taken to the car and quickly delivered to the place, and you will already know the price in advance and you will not have to bargain on the spot.
Nai Yang Beach Resort & Spa Phuket 4 * is located in a quiet bay in the northern part of Phuket in Thailand.
A calm sea, a secluded beach, a lot of shade from the trees - this is how you can describe the first impression of a holiday here.
An interesting interior, three swimming pools with fountains, hearty breakfasts and friendliness of the staff are just a small part of what seasoned tourists admire. Nai Yang Beach Resort is ideal for families with children, which is facilitated by a good location near the coast and a landscaped area with plenty of greenery for outdoor walks.
Rooms
1 of 12
Despite the fact that the last overhaul was carried out more than ten years ago, the hotel looks interesting and modern. When booking, you can choose one of five types of rooms, which differ in the level of comfort, view from the window (on the garden or pool) and the number of beds. Each room has its own terrace where you can relax in comfortable armchairs, drink coffee and admire the surroundings.
In the room itself you can find everything you need for a carefree holiday: a large refrigerator, air conditioning, an electric kettle, a safe, a hairdryer, shower accessories. Updated furniture: comfortable king size beds, desk, wardrobe, sofa by the window. The bathroom has a shower (a bathtub is only available in the suite), a toilet, a bidet and a mirror. All plumbing is in working condition, there are no problems with hot water and drain.
On the territory and in the rooms there is access to a Wi-Fi network (password and login are indicated on the key card).
Every day, plain bottled water, tea / coffee bags are delivered to each person. If desired, you can use the mini-bar. Before checking in, they require you to leave a deposit of $ 100, which will be returned if the rest passes without incident.
Food
1 of 6
On the territory of the hotel you can find two restaurants overlooking the sea: one is a buffet (Turtle Bay), the other is a la carte (The Sands). Depending on the voucher, meals can be different (HB, BB, FB, RO), only breakfasts (BB) are more common, but full board (FB) can also be offered.
At breakfast they offer a large selection of local fruits, cereals (with milk / water), soups (with chicken / seafood), pastries, eggs (boiled / fried) packaged juices. The menu is also great for younger children as there is always a choice between Thai and European cuisine. All food is prepared simply, without an abundance of local ingredients.
Delivery of food and drinks is available around the clock (payment at prices from the menu). There is a poolside bar serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
Near the hotel there is a local market where you can taste street food snacks, sliced fruits and various cocktails.
Staff
According to the reviews of tourists for 2019, the employees are very friendly and always ready to make contact. Attitude towards vacationers is like in a five-star hotel. Communication with staff is possible in Thai and English language. The activity of the reception was noted - all problems are solved promptly, check-in takes place without delay, luggage is helped to carry to the floor. There were cases when the administrator went forward and populated earlier than the allotted time. If this is not possible, employees will do everything to brighten up the wait.
Upon check-in, they bring a compliment in the form of a plate of fruit. Little guests are also not left without attention, and they give a small local souvenir.
Cleaning and change of bed linen takes place every day, but some tourists complain about the constant dirt (they don’t wipe the dust well, they don’t wash the plumbing). Three sets of clean towels are provided per person per day. The minibar, tea/coffee bags, bottled water and shower amenities are replenished daily.
Entertainment and animation
1 of 3
In Nai Yang there is no rich animated program, children's parties and noisy parties. This place will allow you to enjoy a calm, measured rest without intrusive music and crowds of tipsy tourists.
From entertainment, relaxation is offered at one of the three pools, where there are sun loungers, umbrellas and a bar. Fans of SPA treatments can enjoy the sauna, Thai massage, body wraps. Next to the main pool there is a small children's pool where the child can spend time with peers at a safe depth. Within a few kilometers there are golf courses, Splash Jungle Water Park and national park with casaurines.
Immediately outside the territory of the hotel complex there is a coast that will take lovers beach holiday a lot of positive emotions. There are many private points along the beach where they offer rental of water accessories, excursions, diving lessons, photo / video services (given on a flash drive).
Beach
The cleanest coast of Nai-Yang Beach and the hotel building are separated by several meters. The road to the coast passes in the shade of sprawling trees, which allows you to hide from the aggressive Thai sun.
A distinctive feature of the local beach is the calm sea. Doesn't happen in this area big waves, rarely storms, there are practically no dangerous living creatures like jellyfish and plankton.
Due to the calm, the water in the sea is almost always blue, clear and warm, which is ideal for bathing children. It is possible to rent sun loungers and umbrellas for an additional fee.
There is not a large flow of tourists on the beach, as there are only a few hotels along the coast. Tourists really celebrate côte d'azur- white sand, blue water, clear sky. Many come back because of the beach holiday.
Location and surroundings
The resort complex is not located in the busiest area of Phuket. The active tourist life of Thailand begins to boil only at a distance of several kilometers. Not far from the coast there is a local market, which is thoroughly saturated with Thai flavor. There you can buy souvenirs, clothes, oils, etc.
A FRESH LOOK. ONE YEAR LATER.Exactly a year later, to the day, on May 23, we arrived in Phuket. I really wanted to visit this quiet place and this hotel again. Ironically, they settled in the same room, 4016. Last year I wrote a very detailed review about everything, you can read it by clicking on the TopHotels link
All usefulness and descriptions are there, I will not repeat myself. I will describe the changes and fresh impressions.
It didn't work out right from the start. Phuket met with heavy rain. Since this time we arrived with a small child, the question of whether or not to pay 1000 baht for early check-in did not arise. At the first clearing, we rather went to the beach, so often remembered by us all year. And here we were in for a shock!
SAD NEWS NUMBER ONE. The entire coast was one big continuous garbage heap along its entire length. Mountains of household and natural waste, old networks, some fragments of buildings and endless plastic, plastic, plastic... I wanted to cry. Yes, in fact, almost cried. Well, we couldn’t change anything, we had to live with it and somehow adapt to it.
CHANGES TO THE HOTEL.
To date, a fairly large part of the hotel is closed for repairs. Out of access is the third pool, a wonderful alley leading to the lobby and being the hallmark of the hotel, an aviary with turtles. There are almost no outlandish living creatures that inhabit this small piece of the jungle - a variety of lizards, butterflies, interesting birds, iguanas. Perhaps due to repairs, and perhaps due to the fact that all the bushes are periodically watered with poison from insects. Mosquitoes and midges, however, are not getting smaller, they are desperately eating. Squirrels and geckos remained in abundance. Well, dogs. Chiquito is alive and well, Lisito is somewhere in dog heaven. The road to the lobby and the beach is now bypassed, along the newly opened building, in which transit Chinese spend the night. The road is not burdensome, pretty, just a bit longer. The fact that the hotel is being renovated does not affect the rest in any way - you can’t hear anything, there is no dirt at all. If a person has not been to a hotel before, then he will not guess that in fact he is much larger. The territory is still clean and fragrant, there is still no cleaning of the rooms, breakfasts are edible, and sometimes very tasty. The Chinese do not bother at all with the commissioning of a new building. The main thing is not to go to breakfast early, but somewhere around 9-10.
But back to the sea and the beach - we are all going to it. I wrote about the beach. Until the very departure, it was never cleaned, it only got dirtier with each tide. We ourselves had to clear the strip from sunbeds (the Thais clean a narrow strip near them) to the sea (they were with a small child), we would have lived like that, but another trouble came from where they did not expect.
SAD NEWS NUMBER TWO. This year, the sea is teeming with jellyfish, moreover, poisonous. In our family of five, three were stung, one of them twice and one three times! The burns were of varying severity (this depends on the size of the jellyfish and the promptness of the actions taken), the most severe - two days of incessant vomiting, wild dizziness, diarrhea, fever, and aches. This is in addition to very severe pain and scars. Because for the first time we were not ready for such a turn of events and had no idea how to behave. Then the poison was immediately neutralized and the consequences were easier.
By the way, about the weather in the low season. Normal, good sunny weather. It rained intermittently, short and refreshing. Once there was a tropical downpour of great force at night, but in the morning everything was dry and fragrant with cleanliness. So the weather is fine. Another thing is that this is the season of storms in the open ocean and mud and jellyfish bring just them. There are no storms on Nai Yang due to being surrounded by a coral reef, but it still carries all sorts of rubbish. Deprived of a full-fledged beach and the sea, we decided to rent a car and drive to other beaches. We took it right at the hotel, 1000 baht for the first day, then everything is cheaper. (Toyota Corolla medium shabby). Traveled all known and unknown beaches and stopped at Nai Harn. Very beautiful and very clean snow-white beach, the water is like on the Similans (who is in the subject). With Nai Yang, in his current state, is not comparable. When there are no waves or they are small, you can’t imagine better, it’s very beautiful, there are sun loungers, lifeguards, there is where to eat. But when the waves - you can’t swim, these are real ocean waves, which is why the beach is so loved by tourists who are keen on surfing.
SAD NEWS NUMBER THREE - JELLIES ARE ON ALL BEACHES! On Nai Harn, they also received a sickly burn. We rested five times in the low season and did not know about such a misfortune, and now. It was not possible to buy enough. Everywhere jellyfish were seen either right on the shore or in the sea. To swim or not - everyone decides for himself, this is his risk zone, but when you are with a three-year-old child (and children suffer from burns much harder, up to cardiac arrest from pain shock), then the choice between yes and no is not worth it. In general, it is very convenient with a car, we traveled all over the island, looked at everything that had not been seen before. We went to the aquarium. Rather, an aquarium, by the way, that's what it's called. Several containers with different fish and a glass tunnel. You can take a picture in it, but in fact it is no more than five meters. Took half an hour to see everything. So-so. The cost is 180 baht per adult, children up to 108cm tall are free.
Another sadness, number four. While putting the child to bed, she noticed that ants were running over him. Not one or two, but a straight path was laid. She lifted the pillow and was stunned - in a day an anthill formed under the pillows and the mattress. Picked up the child and at the reception. I don’t know English, by virtue of my abilities I depicted a bed and an evil ant on a piece of paper, aggravated it with the epithet “many-many” ... When we returned to the room, they had already poisoned everything and changed the beds. Fast and efficient.
Something has changed in the ROOM over the year. Repair, of course, was not done, but there are some pleasant little things. For example, they changed the shower - now it is very good, with a large, adjustable and removable square watering can with a very strong water pressure. Hot water is always available, and it is hot, not room temperature. Sockets were not added. The bed linen is white, the mattresses and pillows are comfortable, the size of the bed is amazing. An iron and an ironing board are brought to the room upon request at the reception or by phone (the iron is pre-revolutionary, without a steamer). Internet is free, there were interruptions, but short-term ones. The speed is normal. The TV was hung on the wall, the table was freed and it became much more convenient. There is still one Russian channel, but no longer "Rusphuket TV", but the First Channel, broadcast to Germany. It differs from our time of release of the usual programs.
ADVICE. Going on vacation, we, like everyone else, always take a bunch of medicines with us for all occasions. So you don't have to do this. In Thailand, all these medicines are available, only much better and much cheaper. There are many more that we don't have. Due to such an unlucky holiday in terms of health, we came across this closely and with all responsibility I assure you that their means are much more effective, even with the active ingredient of the same name. And in general, there are first aid supplies in every Family Mart for a penny. The best pharmacy is opposite FM, the Thai woman speaks good English and has a translator program in her computer. Our smartphone translator in Russian-Thai mode is complete nonsense, you must first do a Russian-English translation, and then from English to Thai.
In general, it did not work out to fully enjoy the sea this season (and we are in Phuket for the seventh time), all bathing is very hasty and with constant looking back. Who with small children - think, there is only a pool, moreover, one - in the second, our yellow-faced brothers are constantly rinsing in an unmeasured amount. True, our pool, which is in the TROPICAL WING area, although small, but clean, is surrounded by fragrant plumeria, there are almost no people in it, sunbeds are always free, the water is clean and almost hot. Not a single Chinese was seen in it during the entire vacation. Only our Russian children in the amount of one, maximum two.
I can say for myself that I probably will not come here again. There will always be a fear that the picture with the beach and the sea will be repeated. It's like a lottery. Of course, this has nothing to do with the hotel - the beach is municipal, jellyfish in the low season with storms wherever they want, they migrate there, but we are flying to the sea. And he was not at all on this our vacation. I have never seen such a srach on the shore. There was almost no crystal water, like last year. Plus countless hordes of mosquitoes and small midges, which everyone calls for some reason "beach fleas".
TIP number two. ON THE EVE of departure, after cleaning, carefully count everything in the room - the number of towels, plates, spoons, cups. History repeated itself last year. The maid tried to steal a plate taken for painting (she was caught red-handed) and two towels were not reported to the last cleaning. Don't think it's an accident. In this hotel (as, indeed, in many others), this is a common practice. Then, when you hand over the number, you are billed for all these losses and you will have to pay, because you will not have time to sort it out. I just don't know who in this hotel is the proactive link in this commercial undertaking - the hotel management or the maid-reception team. However, be careful, their penalty prices are not small.
SUMMING UP. The place is still calm and pleasant, almost homey. The hotel area is small, but green and well-groomed. The rooms, although old, but for a short life they have everything you need and work properly. If, as we did last year, you are lucky with a clean beach and a jellyfish-free sea, then you will have a wonderful vacation. What I wish you from the bottom of my heart!
