In the cave you can see stalactites and stalagmites unusual shape, petrified waterfalls and stone curtains. The area of the cave is 46.6 hectares. The Prometheus Cave differs from other caves in its wide corridors - the maximum width reaches 25-30 meters, and the height is 20-25 meters.
There are 17 halls of different sizes in the cave complex. The length of some of them reaches 80-100 meters. In the caves you can swim in boats and walk.
Center for Scientific Thought of Medieval Georgia
The Gelati monastery complex, the center of church and cultural life, was founded by King David IV the Builder in 1106 and became his tomb.
Gelati Monastery is located a few kilometers east of the city of Kutaisi (Imereti region).
The monastery complex consists of three temples and a bell tower. On the territory of the monastery there is also the building of the Gelati Academy - the center of Georgian scientific thought in medieval Georgia. Gelati Monastery is also famous for its medieval sundial. According to legend, King David himself determined the time using them.

A place where you can wash up at the same time
Abanotubani (from the words "abano" - bath and "ubani" - district) - sulfur baths, sung by the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. The appearance of baths, of course, was facilitated by the abundance of hot sulfur springs in these places.

In the old days, people not only bathed here, but also communicated, gave dinner parties in the baths, and made trade deals. City matchmakers arranged bride shows here. The date of construction for all the baths is different - approximately the 17th - 19th centuries.
Today, Tbilisi sulfur baths are very popular not only among local residents but also among tourists. Here you can meet a real "mekise" - a bath attendant who "tear off three skins from you", but after his massage you will feel like a new born.

The oldest building in Tbilisi

The name of the church, built in the style of the basilica, common in those days, came from the name transferred from Anchi cathedral icons of the Savior Not Made by Hands - one of the greatest shrines of Georgia.

Lovers of antiquity and antiques can visit a real "flea market" located in the center of the Georgian capital. This place is called "Dry Bridge", as it is located next to one of the small bridges, which rises not over the river, but over an ordinary road.

Mtatsminda amusement park "Bombora", restaurant and viewing platforms, from where a stunning view of Tbilisi opens, is a favorite place for recreation for residents and guests of the city. You can get to Mtatsminda Park by bus or by "tram" - the Tbilisi funicular, which was built by the Belgians in 1905.
Open-air museum
There are many museums in Tbilisi that may be of interest to tourists, but in order to feel the whole flavor of Georgia without leaving the capital, you need to visit the Georgian Museum of Ethnography under open sky, which is located on the slope of the mountain, above Vake Park.
On the territory of the museum you can see traditional darbazi stone houses (an ancient type of dwelling in mountainous areas), wooden houses with thatched and plank roofs from Western Georgia, mountain watchtowers, barns, Kakhetian wine cellars, a water mill and much more.After the tour, you can climb to the top of the mountain to the Svan tower, swim in the Turtle Lake and enjoy a wonderful view of Tbilisi.
