Briefly about Ravda

He wanted to take her with him to the underwater kingdom, but the girl was so attached to her family that she refused. For this, Neptune wanted to wipe out Ravdalina’s native village from the face of the earth and brought down raging streams of water on it. But instead of destroying the village, the waves decorated coastline beautiful bays and openwork rocks. In memory of this wonderful love story, local residents named the village Ravda.
It’s hard to believe now, but modern multi-storey hotels, restaurants, bars and villas were built in Ravda on the site of old Greek thatched mud hut houses. Later, small stone Sharonian houses appeared in their place - the famous French-Jewish banker Sharon allocated money for their construction. These houses became the first refuge for refugees from Macedonia who came here during the Second World War. In 1943, the first Cultural Center, which housed the library.

Ravda is small, but rapidly developing village on the Black Sea coast in Bulgaria.
Beautiful nature, clean air, clear pale blue water and pretty low prices(compared to Golden Sands) are ideal for a summer vacation.
There are many legends that tell how this amazing land. According to one of them, several centuries ago, the lands belonged to a very rich, but evil and cruel farmer who beat his workers with a stick - "ravdas".
The second legend is inclined to believe that the village got its name thanks to one of the pastors who first came to the territory of the current village - Ravadin, after whose name the settlement was named.
Black Sea off the coast of Ravda.
The most beautiful and unusual legend tells us about the pure love of the god Neptune for a beautiful girl Ravdalina. When the god of the seas wanted to take the young maiden with him, she resisted. As punishment, the angry Neptune decided to destroy the part of the land where it lived in terrible waves. But other gods intervened and the current village received only many bays, which made it even more attractive.
In Ravda a lot of hotels, each of them is unique in its own way. Some tourists are scared randomness and atypicality buildings, but to us, accustomed to the same type and austere houses in post-Soviet countries, this seemed like an original and non-trivial option.
This is what the water park in Ravda looks like from the road. We seriously thought that the park was under construction due to the wasteland around it.
Lots of free space still remains for future development. So from Nessebar through Ravda and Akhelloi, we saw both wastelands and already “reserved” lands.
The most surprising thing among all this was aquapark, built back in 2006. After all, from the side of the roadway it seems that it is located in the thickets among the fields (to be honest, we could not even think that it had been functioning successfully for so long).
Along almost the entire main street there are many shops, restaurants and shops. To keep children from getting bored, there is an amusement park with various attractions and carousels. On the territory of Ravda there is entertainment for young people - night discos.
Central Square Ravda decorates city hall. It houses a library, medical center and post office. Right in front of the building there is an interesting fountain. During the tourist period, it works every day, delighting vacationers. On the opposite side of the street, a little deeper, is located Church of St. Paraskeva. Despite its venerable age (the building was built back in 1884), the temple stood in its original form for a long time. Only in 1998 its reconstruction took place.
Since the village is located very close to the museum city (literally a 30-minute walk or 10-15 minutes by bus) and does not itself boast of historical and architectural delights, tourists like to visit the neighboring more ancient resort. As far as we have noticed, it is common for vacationers in Ravda to have evening excursions to Nessebar.
The revered church in Ravda is the Church of St. Paraskeva.

Weather in Ravda
As in all of Bulgaria, the climate of Ravda is soft. Many sunny days a year and quiet calm sea made the village a favorite place for parents with children and for independent tourists who prefer a calm, measured rest.
The weather in Ravda is stable and balanced (so to speak), because the coastal strip is hidden from the cold winds behind the rocky capes of Ravda and Akrotiria. Temperature air in summer it rises to +30° C, and sea water temperature at the height of the season it can reach +26° C. Bathe V coastal waters Ravda possible from April right up to until October.
Beaches of Ravda
We managed to discover two not very large, but cozy beaches along the coast of the village. Their main advantage can be considered availability of all kinds of amenities: sun loungers, umbrellas, changing cabins, free areas for vacationers with a towel, water activities, cafe bars and even lifeguards on duty. Beaches sandy, quite clean. True, early in the morning we saw heaps of algae right on the coast, which workers quickly removed (although algae problem typical for all coastal towns in Bulgaria).
This is what Akademika beach looks like early in the morning. There are no crowds of tourists wanting to bask in the sun yet. Next to the paid umbrellas there are also free areas for people relaxing on towels.
The first beach that came our way was called "Akademika". On the approach to it, I remember a densely covered tree with cherry plums - the fruits were lying in heaps on the ground, and also often fell from the crown and rolled far down.
It was early morning, so large quantities We didn’t notice anyone who liked to swim or lie on the beach. The beautiful blue sea splashed quietly and calmly (thanks to the breakwaters) at our feet.
The second beach was Southern. Construction has been planned and continues on its territory beautiful park . True, at the time of our stay, the slopes looked more like a fairy-tale road from the book “The Wizard of Oz,” laid between young trees and furnished with benches and lanterns.
The sun was already shining well, so it’s not surprising that there were a lot of happy tourists on the coast and in the sea, and on the pier, in their own way (with fishing rods), there were fishermen relaxing.
In addition to those listed, there are in Ravda and wild beaches . The descent to them is not very convenient, and sometimes the entry into the water leaves much to be desired, but this is more than compensated for crystal clean water And few tourists.
The descent to the sea on South Beach is dotted with similar roads.
The warm sea off the coast of Ravda is quiet and calm.
Like other resorts in Bulgaria, Ravda has areas with paid services.
In the near future, Ravda Park is going to delight vacationers with its amazing shade and coolness.
The main “attraction” of the village and its pride is hotel complex "Emerald", located on the outskirts of Ravda. According to some sources, it was built by Philip Kirkorov himself (according to other sources, he only owns 14 apartments).
In the village You can find something to suit every taste and budget: There are also expensive prestigious hotels here, and family hotels, and private apartments, and ordinary wooden houses. Lower prices than in more popular ones seaside towns such as Nessebar, Sunny Beach or Golden Sands. At the same time, the Ravda resort is gradually and confidently gaining momentum, which means that very soon the cost of services there will also increase.
Remains popular in the village buying a property. Tourists (especially Russians) are attracted quiet and relaxing holiday on the Black Sea coast away from the noise and bustle.
All hotels in Ravda are distinguished by their uniqueness. One of the hotel complexes in the village is designed in the shape of a ship.
Any vacationer can easily find a suitable hotel room or a free room in Ravda, all you have to do is walk a little.
Some hotels in Ravda amaze with their size and unusualness.
Below is a small selection of hotels Ravda. The quality of services and quite affordable prices will pleasantly surprise you.
Reviews Ravda
Despite the negative reviews from tourists, we Ravda I liked it.
There are many similar souvenir shops in Ravda.
Nice motley hotels and hotel complexes, cozy houses, beautiful flowers and green spaces, helpful and friendly people. In Ravda No cultural entertainment , therefore loving leisure And nightlife tourists will find it a bit boring here.
Often on the shore and in the water you might encounter green algae, but as we managed to notice, this is a problem for all coasts in Bulgaria. But in the village there is clean air And transparent water surface(especially early in the morning, before vacationers stir up the water).
There are many in Ravda restaurants, cafes, fast food establishments, souvenir shops. Eat amusement park And aquapark, library and post office. Here you can inexpensive rent a car and apartments. Very close are the popular resorts of Nessebar and.
And most importantly: No matter who tells you anything bad about a holiday on the Bulgarian coast, we advise you to first check everything in person before making hasty conclusions.
Ravda in the photo
For those who want to see for themselves the excellent choice of resort and for all lovers beautiful photos, we have made our selection. We wish you a good and pleasant holiday in sunny Bulgaria!
Another hotel in Ravda. The unusual design attracts tourists.
A beautiful and unusual hotel in the village.
Restaurants in Ravda great amount. One of them is located in a wooden building and is called “Goldfish”.
The Bulgarian resort village of Ravda, located on the Black Sea coast, is located 30 kilometers from a large port city Burgas and just five kilometers from the quite popular and famous resort Sunny Beach. I have been there several times, always on my own personal transport, and the first time in 1996, when, in addition to private boarding houses and children's camp There was no hotel or other recreation in Ravda. And in 1998, tourism in Bulgaria was in such decline that staying in a guesthouse hotel type in Ravda, we paid 2.5 dollars per day per person. Of course, those days are long gone and in terms of a comfortable stay, everything has changed. Over the past few years, modern hotels and appearance Ravda has changed beyond recognition. Not a trace remained of the quiet provincial village. However, the warm sun, turquoise sea water and golden sandy beach remained unchanged.
The advantage of a holiday in Ravda is perhaps the cost of the tour, which is slightly lower than in neighboring Sunny Begreg or Nessebar. But this village cannot boast of any special entertainment. All the variety consists of small shops and many cafes and restaurants with dishes national cuisine. To be honest, these dishes are very specific and may not suit everyone’s taste. Although you can taste good pizza at the Pizza & B.B.Q. pizzeria. Read completely

Youth holidays in Ravda
We went to the Bulgarian resort of Ravda for entertainment, as it is famous for its noise and fun. I personally was immediately pleased with the climate: warm and sunny, but not swelteringly hot. Coastal cliffs protect the beaches from the winds. We heard that prices in the city are the lowest in all of Bulgaria, both in hotels and restaurants. This is true. But we saved even more by staying in a private cottage rather than a hotel. We agreed with the owners about food, and they fed us no worse than in a cafe. If they wanted more food, they ordered pizza, went to fish restaurants, and often bought fruit and wine at the local food market. In a word, they were free people, independent of the hotel regime.
There is a lot of entertainment for young people in Ravda, for example, the Varvari discotheque, a fitness center, and diving schools. We went to work out on the exercise machines several times and had spa treatments. We even took a few water skiing lessons. It turned out that staying on the water and not losing the rope connecting you to the motor boat is not so easy, especially for fragile girls.

HOLIDAY PRICES:
How much does a holiday in Ravda cost? May 2018.
tour cost
My dream in retirement is to buy a small apartment in South coast Bulgaria. It is for this reason that I have been exploring this region for season 4. Why Ravda? Because it struck me with its calm atmosphere and good beaches.
I reserve accommodation myself. I really like the Esteban complex. A night's stay costs me 25 levs.
Visited 2 excursions: Veliko - Tarnovo - 150 levs. One-day excursion with lunch.
I also went to Kazanlak for the rose festival - 75 levs.
Food and products
Food prices in Ravda are more affordable than in St. Vlas and Nessebar. The big advantage is that there is a Lidl supermarket here. Due to the large number of customers, the products are always fresh, including baked goods and cooking. Croissant - 0.65 levs, kiflachki or buns with raisins - 0.75 levs. Peaches - 1.95 leva, apricots - 2 leva, watermelons - 0.20 leva per 1 kg.
In Ravda there is a very popular fish restaurant, which is located on the very seashore. Stewed eggplant salad, fish dish, 0.5 Bulgarian beer and dessert cost no more than 20 leva per person.
Souvenirs and other goods
Ceramic products, I bought a wall panel - 9 levs, all sizes are available.
Cost of services and entertainment
Many events are held in Burgas and St. Vlas: concerts, festivals. I attended 2 concerts of local performers and enjoyed them immensely. Ticket price - 27 lev.
Where is the best place to stay?
There are only 10 hotels in Ravda, from two to 5 stars, the cost of a room for two will be approximately 1000 rubles. On the first line, accommodation will, of course, cost more, but in general the prices here are quite low. I would recommend staying in the private sector, it turns out cheaper, and, as in our case, for a couple of nights the guest house turned out to be the best option. Plus, the city somehow feels more alive, and on the shore there are many unfinished hotels and sanatoriums, there is a feeling of some abandonment. It is better to live in the South Beach area; a young park has been planted along it and the embankment has been landscaped. On the rest of the beach there is no embankment as such; in the evening you have to walk on the stones.
What to do at the resort?
There is nothing to do in the village itself, there is only one church, the Church of St. Paraskeva. Therefore, it is worth going to neighboring cities, such as Nessebar and Sunny Beach a little to the north, and Pomorie a little to the south. But if you are choosing this particular place for a long vacation, then I think the lack of entertainment should not bother you. The main cafes and shops are located on Nessebar Street, which smoothly flows into Makedonia Street.
There is a wide and long coastal strip, the beach is sandy and more reminiscent of wild beaches, that is, you definitely won’t find infrastructure and sunbeds here. There are very few people on weekdays, a little more on weekends, but you can find a place to stay without any problems. The cafes are located a little further than the beach itself, but you can walk to them in five minutes or even faster.
Souvenir shops and several shops of the simplest clothing, designed to suit the needs of local residents. For shopping you need to go to Burgas and Sunny Beach.
Like everywhere else in Bulgaria, fish and seafood are well prepared here. You can safely go into any restaurant and ask the waiter what kind of fish they have. By the way, we learned many new names of fish; indeed, Mediterranean cuisine is very richly represented here. Portions are average, well prepared.
Pros of holidays in Ravda
Quiet, cheap, peaceful. If you are traveling for a long time, feel free to choose this resort and rent a car to see nearby cities.
Disadvantages of holidays in Ravda
Quiet, cheap, peaceful. This means a not very developed infrastructure, an average level of service and an absolute leisurely life. For parties and other activities - definitely not here.
